Guest Reviews
- Mahomed (7/5): Was good, friendly staff members - Great Bedrooms no aircon & poor wifi in bedrooms
- Mccaffrey (9/5): The Perfect Base for Camps Bay and Capetown - Wonderful location, cleanliness ,sense of space with a huge split level lounge area with balcony and plunge pool giving lovely views out to sea and for the sunsets. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of fridge/ freezer space. The property is close to good supermarkets as well as the white sands and tidal pool of Camps Bay. We enjoyed first rate service from our friendly maid.It is a great base for exploring Capetown, touring out to Chapman's Peak and visiting Boulders Bay with its penguin colony. Constantia wine lands is a 40 minute drive away. It has a good, secure garage space
and is not far from Capetown International airport. Occasionally thin on pool towels. Some impact of road noise. Could be even better with lighting above the dining table.
Maybe enriched with a folder of info re visits, restaurants, guest suggestions and experiences.
- Carmen (7/5): Beautiful apartment, potentially unsupportive management agency - Lovely location and view. Well decorated. Easy to walk into Camps bay for a meal. Also if you have a hire car there is safe parking inside for one car, and a visitor parking outside. Kitchen is well stocked. There is also a laundry with a washing machine and dryer which is convenient for longer stays. House keeper was fantastic, she came daily. Except for Sundays - but that can be arranged directly with her. The second ensuite is a bit small if you are a couple with 2 large 23kg suitcases as there is not much space to use clothing out of the suitcase - better to unpack. The 2 bathrooms (not the master bathroom) had showers with shower screens that reached the ceiling, which from a visual point of view is great, but what it does is trap the damp in the shower which means it can have a bit of a damp smell. The bathrooms are clean, its just a bit of lack of ventilation in the actual shower cubicle that hits you when you open it. But that is more a design issue, nothing to be worried about, just awareness.
The main issue we had is that on the last night of our stay the fire alarm for the building went off from 3am to 4am. It was very difficult to get proper support from the managing agent Nox who did not know what to do. The alarm went off non stop for an hour. Eventually with the help of others in the building we were able to silence the alarm. It was not off, it was simply silenced - which meant the front door to the building would not lock, which in South Africa with safety issues is not good. We therefore had a very bad last night, knowing that on our check out in the morning we had a 6 hour drive to our next destination with almost no sleep. I requested from the managing agent Nox that we were refunded for the last night as clearly not only was it unsafe, but also extremely distressing. Our host on exit was apologetic and gave us a few snacks for the road and a bottle of wine. I was however disappointed that there was no compensation for our last night, even partly. I therefore am leaving this review, that while the apartment is lovely, future guests need to be aware that you may not get the ideal support in case of emergencies.
- Susan (10/5): Fantastic place to be! - We stayed here as a family while my son ran the Cape Town marathon, it could not have been a more ideal home for the week. Spacious, clean (with a daily cleaner coming in!) close to shops, wonderful balcony overlooking the ocean (there is a noisy road in between, but that didn't bother us), very comfy beds, amazing sunset views, abundant kitchen facilities, friendly and responsive hosts, etc. This will definitely be our go-to place when we return next year. That we had to leave.
- Hilda (9/5): Would definitely book here again in future - The property was viewed exactly as it was shown
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Laeticia (8/5): 8/10 -
