Guest Reviews
- Tara Nadyn (7/5): Für kurze Aufenthalte gut geeignet.
- Sarah (8/5): Amazing staff, great food - Pick up from West Highland Way was really appreciated, staff were brilliant and food was excellent Shared bathroom but we knew that in advance.
- Rebecca (8/5): - We called and got picked up at the hotel which was really nice. There is no kitchen so we had to buy dinner at the restaurant which was lovely but a little pricey. Really nice space in an old church. The showers were broken and it was cold water but the staff gave us free tea. We also had a private room as there were 3 of us and wd got a 3 bunk bed
- Stefanie (10/5): -
- Robert (10/5): Beautiful converted church. Great meals! - Beautiful setting. Very friendly staff.
- John (9/5): -

- Kateřina (10/5): - Food, very nice staff, location
- David (10/5): Excellent thank you - Place was spotless, shower room was lovely and warm - excellent - food was amazing - Mark picking us up was superb too - staff were all brilliant thank you Not keen on mixed toilets - no opportunity for a coffee when I woke up early
- Catharine (9/5): Excellent spot and super friendly - Quirky accommodation. Super clean shared facilities. Super helpful staff. Evening meal was best we have had on West Highland Way ! Coffee too weak for me 😉
- Frank (10/5): -
- Renáta (10/5): -
- Dave (9/5): - Food was excellent. Rooms were very clean and presentable The cabin could have been warmer. The cabin door would not close properly.
- Sarah (9/5): Quaint and quirky - Amazing little place, really quaint staying in a converted Church. Food was lovely and staff were amazing, really friendly Bunk beds but that's what we signed up for, its a budget room
- grace (10/5): -
- Keld Købmand (9/5): - The hosts were so nice og the atmosphere even better. 5 stars from us.
Helen and Keld
- James (9/5): Really liked this place and would gladly stay again - Great vibe and super food Bunkhouse room is compact!
- Doreen (8/5): -
- Colin (7/5): - The staff and the food were good No toilet in your room and queuing up for a shower
- Jaroslav (10/5): An extremely charming old church turned into a bunkhouse. The guys running the place are amazing and very helpful, they - An extremely charming old church turned into a bunkhouse. The guys running the place are amazing and very helpful, they offer pick up service from Inversnaid so that you don’t have to climb up the hill and they can answer all your WHW questions. Food is great and prices OK given the location. Overall a great experience.
- Doubravová (9/5): - The dinner in the bistro was excellent and we appreciated the breakfast and packed lunch. The beds were comfy, not too soft, which is perfect. The former church turned into bunkhouse is a lovely place.
- Cheryl (9/5): -
- Margaret (10/5): Not your average Bunkhouse..... - A fabulous eclectic Bunkhouse. We stayed in a double room with shared bathroom. Bed and facilities were great. The staff are lovely and helpful. The food is absolutely outstanding. Don't be misled that this is 'just' a Bunkhouse. It's a vibe!
..it is a very special place indeed. Loved everything.
- Carole (8/5): - Fabulous breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal on offer. Quirky building. Great to get a lift up from the lakeside. Would have liked to be able to rent a towel. The music played in the restaurant in the evening was a bit too loud and made it difficult to relax in our room.
- Joshua (10/5): -
- Heather (7/5): Great good. Friendly people. - The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The pick up from bottom of hill was very welcome at the end of walking day. The food at the bistro was all superb. There are only 3 toilets and 3-4 functional showers, all cubicled, mixed gender, for everyone including those camping. The guttering between house n shower block means, if raining, you get a second cold shower on coming out of shower block. Showers are hot and powerful but space is very limited.
- Lyndx (10/5): - Everything was incredible. The food, showers. Staff, we were so grateful for the pick up from Inversnaid hotel after walking along the loch. Breakfast was wonderful and the packed lunch was delicious, fresh and very much appreciated. The rooms were warm , and cosy. Nothing.
- Jaap (8/5): -
- Colin (10/5): -
- Julie (7/5): - The rooms are small and very basic, but it’s the friendly staff, quirky building (an old church), and the amazing good that makes this a good option if you’re staying in Inversnaid to break up the Loch Lomond section of the WHW.
- Colin (10/5): - Fab location great bistro nice beers comfortable beds nice shower block Bunk rooms are a little cramped but manageable
- Lauren (8/5): Unique, friendly place to stay on the WHW - It’s a cool and unique place to stay and caters for lots of walkers. The staff are lovely and helpful. The food is good and reasonable. The room is comfortable for what you pay. Value for money, would go back. Nice vibe. If you’re going to walk up the hill it’s quite hard work but you can also get a lift
So don’t be put off.
- Carly (7/5): Nice place, nice location, nice staff - Staff were lovely, room was comfy, and showers were hot. My £9 tempura prawn starter consisted of three prawns, As a hungry walker and for that cost I expected a little more.
No kitchen access, a microwave would have been nice.
- Petra (9/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): Stay here! Best food and value along the WHW! - I can’t say enough great things about this place. It far surpassed my expectations, and was the least expensive place we stayed whilst walking the West Highland Way.
The food was 10/10. Better than Kingshouse, or any of the more well known places we dined at along the way. It has a real chef, not just someone who can put a burger together or deep fry some fish, which is what we found pretty much everywhere else.
The manager was friendly, professional and customer focused. It was clear they have a great team and values.
The accommodation is budget, but that’s reflected in the price. No frills, but exceptionally clean and comfortable. The shower room was lovely and warm, with fabulous water pressure. Nothing, however be aware that if noise bothers you, the restaurant is above the accommodation. It’s not open overly late, but there will be some noise.
It wasn’t a problem for us
- Stephen (10/5): - Brilliant service, and friendly staff.
- Hugh (10/5): -
- liz (4/5): - Staff were friendly and offer pick up service from bottom of the road . We felt this property was very expensive compared to other accommodation along the way .Bunk beds were uncomfortable with minimal space on bottom and middle bunks and rooms very cramped..
6 shared showers (of which only 4 were working)and 3 unisex toilets for everyone staying.
- Kim (8/5): -
- Falk (7/5): -
- Clare (8/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): Unique experience with the best food on the West Highland Way! - Friendly helpful staff, interesting repurposed church facility and positively the best food on the West Highland Way! Nothing!
- Pavla (10/5): - Úžasná přátelská atmosféra. Obsluha úžasná. Všude pořádek a čisto.
- Joana (9/5): -
- Thomas (9/5): - Helpful staff. Rooms were clean and dinner and breakfast were nice
- olivia (8/5): - amazing staff, incredible building in an old converted church. the main restaurant/lounge area is such a vibe. the showers are in an out building which is a bit of an inconvenience, especially when it’s pouring rain and only just above freezing.
- Alissa (10/5): - Super friendly hosts, great food (much better than you'd expect in a hostel!), were picked up from Inversnaid by car, which was great after a day of walking! Adding a savory option like cheese would make the breakfast perfect :)
- Jongky (10/5): The food is super delicious, both dinner and breakfast. - Staff are very friendly. All good.
- Chris (10/5): - Quiet secluded location, twinned with outstanding service and probably the best food we had during our week long trip.
I honestly can't say enough good things about the staff, they were so welcoming and really enhanced the experience.
The food was out of this world, so good, and the rooms were just what we needed after a long day walking.
Would recommend and will stay there again for sure.
- Vikki (10/5): - The staff were amazing and super helpful. Our room was cozy, showers were hot and clean. The long climb up the steep hill off the trail was a bit inconvenient but they do offer a pick up. We found that out after the fact. Still overall another excellent experience
- Grâce (10/5): - Le personnel extraordinaire, notamment Will !
Merci pour la bonne humeur !
Le petit déjeuner sympa !
- Harald (10/5): Einfache Unterkunft, super Essen und Stimmung. Nette Crew. Klasse!
- Peter (10/5): - Great setup, location, staff and food. Nothing too much trouble as we stopped on our first day of the west highland way. Fabulous!
- jannette (10/5): Highly recommend this bunkhouse where you will meet people from all over the world! - Loved the location, really lovely unusual building to house a bunkhouse
Staff were really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Amazing bistro for dinner, excellent food! Brilliant breakfast, so much selection and continually filling things up, kept us going for a good time! Good pack lunch!! Just few personal things - Maybe choice of 2 sets of 2 bunks rather than triple, take plants out of room to give more space - but understand why they are triple bunks
- Alexander Wilhelm (5/5): -
- Ben (8/5): - Comfortable room, very clean, and an excellent breakfast selection. For the money, en-suite bathroom facilities would have been good.
- PRASHANTH (6/5): Could have been better - Dinner n Bed was comfy The dry room was not Hot at all. It was the wettest day (Storm Dave was in full force with snow in April) and it was very imperative that all the guests would have wet gears that would require it to be dried overnight, but the drying room was just not warm enough to even do the basic drying. It was a extremely disappointing. Had to start the next hike in the wet gear.
- Avril (9/5): - Lovely old church conversion. Room a little small but very comfortable. Showers were excellent.
Food in bistro was excellent and the vibe great. Best of all...the staff, super friendly and welcoming😊 Nothing
- Noel (10/5): -
- Jessie-May (9/5): Quirky and a lovely stay - loved the cats! - A lovely, clean property with great history of the old church - done out beautifully
- Mark (9/5): -
- Mira (10/5): -
- Absolut genial. Tolles Konzept. Da hat sich mal jemand was einfallen lassen. Nichts ….
- Keely (10/5): Fabulous return trip to The Bunkhouse. Would highly recommend! - The food, the playlist and the vibes! Great people doing fab things for those walking The WHW Towels!
- Charalambos (10/5): Very pleasant - Everything, the staff, the food excellent! Nothing
- Blair (9/5): Loved it, can't wait to go back and visit again. - Inversnaid bunkhouse was an awesome place to spend the night, my wife and I hiked out on the WHW from Rowardennan for a night away and it met all expectations. The room was clean and comfortable, the food was amazing, the staff were great, and the vibe in the restraunt was awesome. The owner even picked us up at Inversnaid hotel to save us the hike up the big hill at the end of our days walking. A cooked breakfast in the morning would be good, I thought £12 per person for a continental buffet breakfast was a bit steep. I was a bit hungover and really needed a fry up to sort me out!
- Anthony (10/5): What a great place on the WHW. Can’t recommend highly enough. - Great location. Amazing staff. The food in the evening was wonderful and a fully stocked bar is a little too tempting after a long day on the trail. Nothing.
- Duncan (8/5): -
- Bianca (9/5): -
- Jamie (10/5): A vibe that won’t be forgotten - Every part of my stay was perfect from the free pick up and drop off. A place that is the hidden gem! Thank you to all the staff for my stay and an absolute gem of a find x food was an absolute treat
- Matthew (10/5): Great food, great hospitality! - Super friendly/helpful staff, clean rooms, and surprisingly amazing food. Best chicken burger I’ve had in my life, kudos to the chef(s)!
- Stephen (10/5): - Lift to hostel
- Kate (9/5): Welcoming, clean and great facilities. Food excellent. - Great location for walking the West Highland Way. Friendly staff throughout- picking us up from Inversnaid hotel and also suggesting a baggage service. Food excellent and lots of gluten free options. Clean and safe. Relaxed vibe. Possibly a more comfortable bed, but I’m being quite picky.
- Catriona Mary (10/5): Perfect! - The food was AMAZING. Such an excellent variety and the atmosphere in the bistro was fantastic. Beds were comfy. Drying room was really warm so items got properly dry. Really nice perk to be collected from the hotel to save a walk up the hill on arrival! It would be nice if they were able to offer single beds as a shared room for solo travellers. Not a criticism at all and it was nice to have peace for the night!!
- Mary (10/5): -
- David (9/5): Great place in wonderful location for walking. - Great location and accommodation. Everyone friendly. Could do without the pictures and plastic plants in the room.
- Patrick (10/5): -
- Ezio (7/5): -
- Robert (6/5): - Friendly staff good food
- Joanna (7/5): - Immaculately clean. Friendly staff and a lovely lounge and dining area. I was woken in the early hours by the heater in the room coming on and creating similar to how I imagine the centre of the earth feels. No hot water in the showers.
- Clare (10/5): Great place to stay - Loved this place ! If you call they will give you a lift up the hill to the bunkhouse. All the staff were friendly and helpful on arrival.
Great rooms. clean and well decorated. Great restaurant. Exceptional food.
You can order a packed lunch for the next day, which I thoroughly enjoyed, as I was walking the West highland way. Thankyou ! All great
- Dominiek (9/5): - Laid back atmosphere, excellent good, lovely Building
- Carol (8/5): Beautiful building, relaxing vibe, and friendly staff!! - The converted old church was beautifully restored to make it into a restaurant and lower level bunkhouse! Great food and breakfast !! Staff was so accommodating and friendly! Highly recommend! Rooms were rather hot but that is just us maybe. Cramped room with piece of luggage, but again, that was us. We had luggage transfer.
- David (9/5): Very enjoyable stay - Beautiful church conversion, clean and comfortable, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, great food, good value for money. Breakfast is too expensive for what is offered
- Marieke (10/5): -
- Megan (10/5): Unique stay in the hills of Loch Lomond. - Secluded but not too far from the main road. It has an eclectic vibe! After walking the trail, it was daunting thinking of climbing up- but the staff offered to give us a lift! That was very generous and thoughtful. There is not a ride back down, but it was not as far as I had thought from the night prior.
- Doris (7/5): Originell, aber zu teuer! - Alles soweit ok.
- Hilary (9/5): - Friendly helpful staff. Great facilities & a beautiful building Nothing!
- Bilal (10/5): -
- David (7/5): It’s a hostel. I am Just glad they are there providing any service. - My bed appeared to be on the floor and yet I slept really well. There was no kettle in the room for a brew.
- Grant (10/5): - We've been before and we love the chilled atmosphere Only one slight gripe.... id say the continental breakfast as nice as it was , was a bit overpriced at £11 but wouldnt stop us returning again.
We.love it here x
- Dan (8/5): - The food is excellent. Beds a little small and difficult to get in (bunks)
