• Oliver (9/5): Superb hosting, breakfast and value - Superb host and fantastic breakfast. Our host even gave us a lift to the wedding venue nearby to stop us needing a taxi. Excellent value and well located. The only real point of criticism would be that parts of the room had not been properly cleaned. HOWEVER, the important bits had been properly cleaned, and the hosting and breakfast more than made up for it so we would still recommend staying here (and we suspect it was an isolated blip).
• Annapurna (8/5): Very comfortable room, friendly and helpful owners. - Very comfortable bed, friendly and helpful owners, the room had a kettle, tea making stuff, hairdryer, nice toiletries. Good breakfast. There was a guest lounge too.

Excellent breakfast and a lovely friendly host who went out of his to make our stay a great experience. Colin even chauffeured us to the evening reception at Wedding we were attending. Would thoroughly recommend. We have no complaints whatsoever

• Stephen (10/5): Excellent guest house with a welcoming host. - A very homely and welcoming guest house. The room was fine for myself and a comfortable bed with my own private access door. There was access to the lounge with a large comfy sofa. The full English breakfast hit the spot with toast, fresh coffee, fresh OJ and cereals if required. None. Had to be careful leaving by car as it is on a narrow road but the host Colin was on hand to help guide you out, just in case.

• Josephine (9/5): Peaceful haven in beautiful area, warm welcome from host - Easily accessible but also quiet- in spite of New Year crowds elsewhere.The room was warm and cosy, large bed. Not as spacious as some but fine for us. Loved the Lake District character of the house and the surrounding woodland Only a small thing- could have done with an automatic outside light as pitch dark from house to car and a step that I tripped on

• Mellor (10/5): Our stay was perfect, Colin who checked us in made our weekend, was a lovely place to stay - The man who checked us in was absolutely lovely, he made our stay perfect and went the extra mile and decorated the room for my partners birthday. We will 100% be coming back here. Thank you!

On arrival we realised we coukd walk from the door to a bar and restaurant too. Colin was a great host and able to help with secure bike storage and great local knowledge. Host was extremely friendly and accommodating and served a most excellent breakfast. Location was superb for train and boats which were within walking distance. Lack of power socket near bed. Extra pillows would have been handy. Bit difficult to exit car park when main road is busy.

Some of the facilities were a little dated and not squeaky clean, but overall good. The host/hotel owner was very friendly and very helpful with helping us find local activities etc. The breakfast was great, tasty food and lots of options to choose from! I would recommend this place, and I would certainly stay again.

• Chris (10/5): Perfect Getaway. - A lovely guest house. We were made welcome by the owner Colin from the first moment we arrived. Very clean and cosy. A delicious breakfast. A parking place guaranteed.. Surprisingly close to Lake Windermere. Just a minutes walk.

We were met by the host Colin who gave us a great room with it's own entrance for an early start and no stairs to navigate after! The room was a good size with a comfy bed and a modern bathroom. We had the breakfast Sunday which was very good and made to order on the day from the menu. Colin was a great and attentive host, would recommend staying here.

Coffee was made from a coffee bag so could be improved. The steam train station is nearby on the lake with a good cafe where you can watch the train and get an espresso.
• Simon (10/5): Excellent stay - We had a great stay here, from the off we were made to feel extremely welcome. The room was really comfortable, great bed and shower. We also used the lounge which was a bonus! The breakfasts were also great, I really recommend staying here.

• April (9/5): Good relaxing break. - Good breakfast. Easy walk along path near lake to The Swan Hotel & Newby Bridge Hotel for evening meals. The walk back was pitch black as no street lights, so get a hat with a torch if you plan to do this walk in the dark.
