- Verified traveler (2/5): - The bad: Our first issue happened at check-in. We booked and paid for (months in advance) a double room (separate bed rooms) and ended up only one choice - a small single room with only one (squeaking and uncomfortable) bed. There was no air conditioning, no fan and there was rising damp in the walls. The shower curtain was disgusting with mould. The pillows smelt damp and disgusting, and the room was humid and hot and smelt like mildew. Every night we were woken up by the farm dogs barking and yapping and making a lot of noise. Even with ear plugs in, the dogs kept us awake from 2am until 5am every night (4 nights in a row). Also, and this is not anyone’s fault, but still worth mentioning- there were biting flies (insects) that would bother you from sunrise to sunset. Often there were 5 or 6 swarming around you and they would never give up. This meant swimming in the pool or sitting around the pool, or even walking around outside was a miserable experience because you were constantly under attack. We were really looking forward to staying here, and with so many other positive reviews, thought it was going to be a lovely experience. I can safely say, this was the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in. The conditions in that room were totally unacceptable. The good: staff were very friendly and spoke good English, and the food was delicious. Andrew was helpful with providing ideas on places to visit in the surrounding area and even helped with clothes washing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My 13 yr old daughter and I stayed at Villa VEA for 4 nights after a 2 week tour of Greece. It was perfect and exactly what we were looking for! From the moment we arrived to the moment we stepped onto the train to leave, they were there to help us. My daughter even learned to make pasta! Loved our room overlooking the mountain, the food was fantastic, the pool refreshing and the peacefulness priceless. Thank you Angela, Andrew, Emilio and Grandma Grace...we love you all and can not thank you enough for making us feel at home and like family!!! Until next time...😊
