- Divya (8/5): - The property is very artistic and pretty for sure and thankfully it did resemble what they had on the site. Calm and serene, very humble staff which took care of us patiently. Customized our dinner and breakfast too. Property is a colour riot and poetic! A few suggestions if in future this can be managed - 1) locking mechanism from inside too, more safety. Only latch doesn't help and please oil the latches so that they work properly. 2) bathroom door / partition can help to have some privacy 3) master switch to switch off all the lights at one go inside the room, else as a guest you need to remember which light switch is which one.. 4) increase the breakfast options But overall a very fantastic property with some great lake view, one should have morning breakfast outside sitting at the patio to see beautiful lake.

The room was gorgeous and the staff were very attentive, helpful and there for anything you needed which made the stay wonderful. They serve excellent food and drinks with lots of options and it's all delicious food. It's a nice peaceful location away from the busy city, and lots of nature walks nearby as well as the pool to relax in. I have nothing bad to say, hopefully be back soon!

- David (10/5): See it to believe it . - I have been fortunate enough to travel to 62 countries over the years and this has to be the most amazing hotel I have stayed at . The room was superb, large with exquisite furniture. The hotel is full of old furniture in wonderful condition. There are wonderful trees around the property including orchids and mango trees . The hotel is situated on a lake which offers peace and tranquillity. The staff are fantastic, happy smiling and willing to help . The breakfast was excellent. Everything was superb.

Als ik een 11 kon geven zou ik dat doen. We hebben ontzettend genoten van ons verblijf. Het personeel doet er alles aan om het je naar de zin te maken. En daar slagen ze ruimschoots in! We raden iedereen dit fantastische hotel aan!!

- Pascal des Landes (10/5): Un bel hôtel sur une presqu'île - Le style atypique, la bienveillance et la gentillesse du personnel, l'environnement avec un beau jardin, une piscine appréciée après la visite de Colombo, le calme reposant du lieu. Petit déjeuner varié avec sucré et salé. Le restaurant est également très bon. Hôtel loin du centre ville mais cet inconvénient se transforme en qualité car du coup moins de pollution et moins de bruit .

The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The food was amazing and the mojitos - delicious😊The location was away from the tourist areas but still accessible by a 15 minute tuk tuk ride. We loved it, what a great way to relax after a busy two week trip exploring Sri Lanka. Nothing

- gillian (10/5): A feel of paradise in the capital of Sri Lanka - Everthing about Aathma House is so calm and serene, with incredible pieces of art everywhere you look. There are lots of little places to sit outside and hideaway in the pretty gardens and the pool so beautifully blends in to the paradise you have created. The staff are all exceptional, so helpful and kind and the food is delicious. One of the finest hotels we have ever stayed in and we hope one day to return, indeed I could quite happily live there forever. Felt so sad on leaving but would like to thank the owner and wonderful staff so much for the courtesy shown to us. It truly was the most memorable of stays. Thnak you so much Everything was perfect

- Jolanda (10/5): Superlatieven te kort! - Na onze vlucht was dit onze eerste "thuis". Je kan het beter een paradijs noemen. Wat een prachtig hotel. We waren overweldigd door de prachtige serene sfeer, de inrichting is zo smaakvol, en de service was uitmuntend. Een fantastische plek om tot rust te komen na de lange reis. Ik heb eigenlijk alleen maar superlatieven voor het eten, de kamers, het personeel. In rustige omgeving aan een groot meer. Ontbijt mag je zelf kiezen uit een groot aanbod. Voor ons was dit het meest luxe verblijf in heel Sri Lanka. Wij hadden twee 2 persoonskamers, met jacuzzie en een mooi terras. Op het terras hebben we weinig gezeten, want er waren zoveel mooie plekjes te vinden om te zitten dat er gewoon teveel keuze was aan mooie plekjes ;-) maar het was wel een heel mooi terras. Bedankt voor alle lieve aandacht, we komen graag nog een keer terug. Niks, behalve dat we na 1 nacht weg moesten.

- Alexander (8/5): Eine grüne Oase inmitten von Colombo - Die Unterkunft ist erfrischend anders, bunt, ein wenig wie ein Museum moderner Kunst nach Hundertwasser und Klimt. Unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig. das Personal im Service und das Housekeeping war super freundlich. Schön wäre es gewesen wenn mehr Liegeflächen zur Verfügung gestanden hätten.

- Mette (10/5): Simply perfect. - No words can describe how much I loved staying here. I stayed here for 4 nights at the end of my Sri Lanka trip and I could not have chosen a better hotel. Everything was just beautiful. I took hundreds of photos here trying to freeze the beauty of this place on my phone so I could take pieces of it home with me. The room was perfect. Very spacious, beautiful decorated, comfortable bed, loved the spa and view of the lake. The morning robe was amazing! And not to forget the toiletries! The staff were perfect. Friendly, forthcoming and always smiling and ready to make my stay perfect. The food was amazing and I really loved how one can choose what to have for breakfast. The pool is a piece of paradise. Whoever designed it deserves to go straight to heaven. I could write a book about everything I loved here. In a perfect world I would be rich enough to live here permanently, unfortunately the world is unfair and all I can do is write this review that doesn’t do Aathma just. If I could give this place a thousand stars I would. They deserve every single one of them.

Totally reco - The property was a gorgeous eclectic, colourful mix of collected treasures. An amazing start to our month in Sri Lanka. Although you could hear the traffic it was far enough away and because it was kind of on its own island it was very private and the views across the lake, the birds and the staff were brilliant. We are just blown away by the interior, there are so much handcrafted and wonderful items everywhere. We got upgraded to a suite and the room was like from a fairytale. The outdoorarea is lovely, and gives peace to mind with all the lush green... The pictures dont do this place justice, it has to be experienced. Nothing

Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und das Essen wirklich lecker. Das Personal war sehr bemüht und immer freundlich. Leider roch das Badezimmer unangenehm und es war sehr hell im Zimmer, da man die vielen Fenster nicht gut abdunkeln konnte.

Ruhig, fast wie auf einer kleinen Insel, umgeben von Wasser und vielen Vögeln; ideale Atmosphäre zum Abschalten. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und gemütlich — perfekt, um nach dem langen Flug herunterzukommen. Das Frühstück war im Preis inbegriffen und sehr gut, auch das abends bestellte Essen hat uns geschmeckt. Die Mitarbeiter waren durchweg freundlich und hilfsbereit.

- glynis (10/5): Wow what a place so unusual and not too far from the city centre with beautiful rooms and gardens - From the moment we arrived we felt at home the staff were so friendly and the accommodation was amazing. It’s on a private island with a magnificent garden overlooking a huge lake and although close to a main road you couldn’t hear traffic, our room was huge with a fabulous bed and lots of interesting furniture. There is a cool swimming pool and towels are automatically provided in a basket in your room, the breakfast was the best we had in Sri Lanka with lots of different fresh fruit croissants and bread and a Choice of at least 5 plates including a full English breakfast or traditional Sri Lankan, we ate there in the evening with a great choice of dishes and brilliant service. You can’t fault this place and if I could I would give it 11 out of 10 Absolutely nothing to dislike it was a great place to stay

La déco est exceptionnelle, le personnel est SUPER gentil, la nourriture est au top. Le massage était parfait, nous avons tout adoré Dommage que nous ne sommes restés qu'une seule nuit :(

- Martin (7/5): Ein sehr, sehr schönes Hotel, wenn die Stechmücken nicht wären! - Die Gestaltung und Dekoration des Hotels sind sehr gelungen. Unser Zimmer war außergewöhnlich groß und erstreckte sich über zwei Stockwerke. Leider gab es einige Punkte, die unseren Aufenthalt getrübt haben: Es gab sehr viele Stechmücken, zudem war über dem Bett kein Moskitonetz vorhanden. Die Wasseraufbereitung der Poolanlage ist nachts deutlich hörbar und störend laut. Beim Duschen ist Vorsicht geboten, da sich in der Nähe eine Steckdose des Whirlpools befindet, die bei Spritzwasser nass werden kann. Ein stabiler bzw. sinnvoller Handlauf war im gesamten Bereich nicht vorhanden. Auch die Lichtsteuerung im Zimmer ist sehr unübersichtlich – es gibt insgesamt 19 Lichtschalter, wodurch das Ein- und Ausschalten des gesamten Lichts unnötig kompliziert ist.

- Vicky (10/5): paradise in Columbo - This hotel is a little piece of paradise away from the hustle and bustle of Columbo. We arrived and were greeted warmly with a welcome drink and cold towel. We were then invited up to our room which was absolutely divine in every way. Waking up to the birds, the tranquility, the amazing breakfast and dinner as well as just feeling like we were fully being treated and looked after in every way possible. After backpacking around Sri Lanka for three weeks this hotel was the perfect end to our trip and I strongly encourage anyone to stay and experience for yourselves :)
