• Deirdre (9/5): Would have been completely perfect if our room had been bigger. - Very clean and well located. Amazingly obliging staff. We asked for a couple of breakfast bowls and spoons so we cd eat our own muesli each day and the manager rushed out and bought us some immediately. Back in five minutes. Also asked for extra pillows which were provided. Location was right in the middle of the old city. Wonderful shops all around and lovely architecture. The manager also sent us loads of helpful info about places the visit and places to enjoy the best food locally. Our room was extremely small, but I did see into other rooms which were much bigger. Probably shd have paid more attention to the time of booking!

Nous partagions la salle de bain avec une autre chambre et malgré cela elle était toujours propre. Très bonne communication avec le propriétaire qui est aidant et arrangeant. Je recommande. Il y avait un peu de bruit venant de la rue le soir mais on avait des bouchons d’oreilles donc c’était bon.

The room was very clean, and I really appreciated the shared space with a coffee machine and kettle, which made it easy to enjoy warm drinks. • Catherine (10/5): Very enjoyable stay in the heart of San Sebastian. - I enjoyed my stay at Buenpas very much. Jon called me before my arrival and made my check-in extremely easy. The location is great, within walking distance of the commercial area, beach and the old town. There is a big underground parking very close. It is also under ten minutes walk to the bus station. The pension is very clean and there is a great coffee machine for guests. Jon was very helpful during my stay. Everything was great.

La ubicación es magnífica, está cerca de todo. La Pensión cuenta con una pequeña área donde siempre vas a encontrar café o infusiones. La zona o el barrio es muy bueno, tranquilo, es agradable lleno de árboles, hay un parqueadero a media cuadra, lavandería, mercado y restaurantes muy cerca. Personalmente me gusta mucho el concepto de Pensión, el huésped habita un edificio donde viven los locales, es un espacio que se sale del esquema de "hotel", (con lobby y gente que te atiende), aquí entras a un edificio típico de San Sebastián y lo habitas como un ciudadano más. La ventana de nuestra habitación daba a un patio muy feo y desabrido. En realidad es un comentario intrascendente, porque uno como viajero es poco el tiempo que pasa en el hospedaje, es solo que me gusta tener vista y más cuando el barrio es agradable

• Robbie (4/5): Overall rather disappointing - I’ve held off writing this review for a while, but I feel the time has come to share my experience. First impressions were very good — the hotel was welcoming, very clean, and in a great location. In fact, I can’t really fault the stay itself. However, there were a few issues that changed my overall view. The front desk is not manned as it states on the website, which means it’s impossible to simply ask a question in person. That’s inconvenient enough, but the bigger problem came the day before we were due to leave. Our room had been cleaned, and I discovered that some of our clothes had been mistakenly discarded by the cleaner. I fully accept that accidents happen, but when I tried to contact the hotel immediately (via Hotels.com and text message), I received no response until two days later — after we had already left. The hotel did eventually confirm that the cleaner hadn’t realised the bag with our washing wasn’t rubbish. While I appreciated the explanation, communication has since stalled, particularly after I requested reimbursement for one item of expensive clothing. This lack of response has been very disappointing. So, would I recommend this hotel? The simple answer is: only for its location and cleanliness. It feels more like an Airbnb than a true hotel, and if service or support matters to you, this may not be the right choice.

The room was spacious and the location was perfect. Jon was incredible. He was super helpful and responsive and gave us a list of recommendations of where to eat, drink and visit. We highly recommend staying here if you are visiting San Seb, and we will stay again in future N/A

Er hat uns zum Bahnhof begleitet und mir den Koffer dorthin zu Fuss transportiert. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, allerdings ein bisschen eng. Der Preis war sicher dem mondänen Ort San Sebastian angepasst. Alles in allem okay. Na ja, die Sanitäranlage außerhalb. Aber sie wurde nur von 2 Zimmern frequentiert und hätte nicht anders installiert werden können. Für mich wäre ein 2. Kopfpolster hilfreich gewesen.0

It was very loud and we could hear every movement between the rooms. We hadnt realised it was a shared bathroom (our own fault) which delayed us in the mornings. Room was quite small.

• Bernard (8/5): Top locatie, zeer schoon en een uitstekende host. - De eigenaar Jon was een meer dan uitstekende gastheer die ons voorzag van allerhande tips over restaurants en bezienswaardigheden. Jon was niet te beroerd om voor ons restaurants te reserveren. We hadden een mooie kamer maar er zaten geen ramen in. Niet zo erg storend maar het was wel goed geweest als dit vantevoren bekend was gemaakt.
