- Nicole (10/5): The best choice for comfort and relaxation. - I have traveled to many places, and this is the best in every aspect so far. It is clean than you could image and comfortable here. The breakfast is rich and diverse. The host Hilton is very helpful in prompt response and thoughtful in every little tiny details. (we love the yellow tiny ducks and bring home to kids). He is the best host I've ever met! I was very fortunate to stay in his house during my first visit to the lake district. My sisters and I really had a great time there, all of us have a wonderful memories for this trip to the UK. The property is beautiful, spacious rooms, lots of extras in the room, very comfortable. The host was very accommodating and friendly with lots of useful advice and suggestions for things to do and places to eat in the locality. Limited parking but there is roadside parking on nearby streets.

He keeps the hotel immaculately clean. The hotel benefits from having a residents lounge. The hotel is in a quiet street, but is close enough to shops, eating places, and public transport links.. The weather, lol. But the hotel can't be blamed for that

- Dawn (10/5): Another fantastic stay at 1 Park Road! - We’ve had another fantastic stay at 1 Park Road, our go to when visiting the Lakes. A lovely warm welcome from Hilton, who allowed us to check in earlier (with prior agreement), which maximised our short time in the Lake District. A lovely clean spacious room (room 3) with very comfortable double & single beds and modern bathroom, on the first floor. Fully equipped with tea / coffee making facilities, with fresh milk for use in the fridge located on the upper floor. Breakfast was fantastic and plentiful with a good choice of both cold and hot food options, including fresh strawberries, blueberries, banana’s and not forgetting the homemade jams and lemon curd which are a must to try! Location wise, the house is set on the corner of a quiet street / area and within walking distance to Windermere Town Centre (5mins), Windermere Station (12mins) and Bowness Lake (25mins), all walking at a steady pace. Hilton has a superb Victorian property and it’s been great to stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality Hilton & we will be back again soon. Alice Anne & Dawn

The hotel’s location was excellent, just about a 5-minute walk from the town center. We would definitely stay here again the next time.
- Lynn (10/5): No 1 Park Road is a great place to stay. - No 1 Park Road is a gorgeous Victorian property. The rooms are large and very comfortable. In a peaceful pretty area. Hilton was a fabulous host. He provided lots of personal touches. Hiltons breakfast was very tasty with lots of choice. The location was perfect for exploring Windermere and surrounding areas. Two minutes walk to Windermere town centre. The Brookside 5 mins away, served lovely pub grub. 20 to 25 minutes walk to Bowness and the lake. You can also catch the bus or a taxi. We enjoyed a great meal at The Hole int wall, Bowness. And drinks in The Albert and The Crafty Baa. If you fancy a short ferry across the lake. Take the car ferry, a stride away from the Bowness main ferry, to the Peaceful west side of the lake. We would recommend staying at No 1 Park Road. Everything was great.

Besonders die bequeme Matratze und der exzellente Service (im Zimmer und beim Frühstück) haben uns sehr gefallen. Vor der Haustür konnte man nett bei einem Glas Wein in der Abendsonne sitzen. Hilton war der perfekte Gastgeber und hatte täglich wertvolle Tipps für Ausflüge und Unternehmungen vor Ort für uns. Besonders erwähnen möchte ich die Karte mit persönlichen Abschiedsworten am Abreisetag! The house itself is very spacious and comfortable, with a lovely living room and a bright, welcoming breakfast room. Our bedroom was also very spacious, extremely clean, and comfortable throughout. The whole experience felt so much more personal and homey than staying in a hotel. Hilton was an exceptional host who personally welcomed us upon arrival and saw us off when we departed. He was incredibly thoughtful and attentive to all our needs during our stay. The breakfast was outstanding value - featuring fresh fruit, a great variety of breakfast essentials, and selections freshly cooked by Hilton himself. I would highly recommend One Park Road if you're looking for a restful place to unwind after long days of hiking in the Lake District. The combination of comfortable accommodations and Hilton's warm hospitality made our weekend truly special.

- Michelle (10/5): Excellent small guesthouse - This guest house is very well run. The manager is obviously very keen to ensure that his guests have an enjoyable stay. The room we stayed in was large, clean and the beds comfortable. The breakfast was cooked to order, but also cereals and continental breakfast available too. The guesthouse is convenient for Windermere centre, approx 5 minutes walk to the bars and restaurants, but in a quieter back road.

Just about the most welcoming and helpful host/manager you could hope to meet - there were plenty of suggestions for activities in the area and how to get around. Right on the edge of town, which itself wasn't huge. All sorts of small amenities were on offer.

The breakfast is beautiful with allergens catered for with prior notice. Such a relaxing time in the lovely bright dining room. The room is lovely, very stylish and with a very comfortable king size bed. Bathroom and tea making facilities are great too. Ideal to walk into Windermere, just a 5-10 minute walk to all the shops, pubs and restaurants. Only good things to say! We will stay here again in the future with no hesitation. - Elena (10/5): - We had the most fantastic long weekend at 1 Park Road. The house is immaculate with excellent attention to detail, very comfortable and in a great location. The scenery is spectacular and travelling by bus is incredibly easy from here, but Windermere itself has a great selection of pubs, cafes, shops and restaurants. Hilton is the most wonderful host, we had everything we needed and were very well looked after. He has a wealth of knowledge to share about the area and makes a delicious breakfast! I highly recommend staying here and we would love to return soon!

Breakfasts were excellent. Location was very convenient near town center with everything within walking distance. - Michelle (10/5): - I picked this property after an extensive search and reading tons of reviews. As I prefer a house type accommodation, this fit my needs. A plus for me was facilities to brew coffee in the room, and a communal fridge to store my heavy cream. Milk is provided for guests in that fridge too. Furnishings were typically British, amenities were plentiful, water was hot, and bed comfy. Breakfast was tasty with lots of choice. As a single female traveller, I felt very safe. It was close enough for a comfortable walk to town to catch the hop on hop off bus, as well as shops and restaurants. I would have liked to be able to bring in a takeaway, so that was the only drawback for me, based on my personal preference. The host/owner (Hilton) explained the reasons, which seemed reasonable. A pleassnt stay.

- Shanthi (9/5): Very relaxing comfortable stay in the wonderful Lake District - Hilton was a wonderful host, a great breakfast, a spacious room with very comfy bed, and excellent location, close enough to Windermere amenities. Loved the decor which made it like a real home away from home, and enjoyed Hilton's paintings. The wifi connection was quite weak, so not the easiest if you need to be online for calls or work.
- Linda (10/5): Absolutely brilliant! - Absolutely fantastic! Great location in Windermere ideal for exploring the area. The host was really obliging, knowledgeable and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The room was perfect and the beds were so comfortable which meant that we slept really well. The breakfast was so good and really set us up for the day. I would definitely recommend staying here and would stay here again if we go back to the Lakes

- Emily (10/5): Lovely stay at this guesthouse - Lovely stay at Hilton's guesthouse. We stayed for three nights to enjoy the lake district. Hilton is very helpful with tips on the area and how to get around. Breakfast is great with a good selection of cold options like fruit, cereal, toast and yogurt, plus hot options like a full English and omelettes. The room was very comfortable and clean, with products like soap and shower gel provided. I liked that Hilton has made an effort to use refillable products to reduce waste too

- Yosef (10/5): - All the rooms are outstanding, the breakfasts are incredible, and the owner takes really nice care of the place (and is the sole one responsible for everything) and is quite helpful. What I learned the hard way are 1. to book directly (as opposed to something like Expedia), and 2. to book a taxi or Uber ride (even during broad daylight) in advance, as Windermere is no big city or anything like that.

We had a parking spot off the street. Our host was very welcoming and very helpful with hints on using the bus and suggestions of places to visit. Our breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Hitlon was a fantastic host and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. We wanted a late check-in and this was not a problem at all. - JULIET (10/5): - Lovely house , big rooms . Close to public transport , shops etc and 25 min walk down to the lake. Friendly knowledgeable host . Delicious breakfast cooked to order , various options available. There is also a cosy lounge to relax in as an alternative to the bedrooms.
- Betsy (10/5): - Comfortable, attractive property and room in a quiet neighborhood; ten minute walk from the train station and steps from shops and restaurants. There are some nice walks nearby and it's not far from the lake. The vegetarian English breakfast was excellent--much tastier than others I've had--and there was fresh fruit, homemade jam, decent coffee. Hilton, the host, was very welcoming, helpful, informative, and accommodating.
- antony (10/5): Highly recommend Tony and Eileen, Swindon - Excellent B&B, spotless, large comfortable room, with good attention to detail, and extras, like fresh ground coffee, fresh milk etc. Breakfasts amazing, cooked fresh to order. Hilton our host very helpful and full of local knowledge. 3 mins to town centre and 15 mins to Bowness centre on foot. Best B&B we have stayed in. Highly recommend.

Our host, Hilton, was so helpful, giving lots of advice on local tourist places, public transport, restaurants, pubs etc. He also cooks a great breakfast to order (no rubber fried eggs in a warmer!) Ideally situated to walk into Windermere or even down to Lake Windermere. Several onsite parking spaces otherwise spaces on local streets. Nice to have use of the lounge too so not restricted to your bedroom. I can’t think of anything

- Edwards (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about this Gracious Guest House was perfect. In a quiet location and short walk to Windermere Village. Spacious bedroom with luxurious linen and fluffy white towells. Tea and coffee making facilities in your room. Breakfast served each morning was delicious, cereal, fresh berries, yoghurt, home made Jams and Lemon Curd to have on toast. Also a choice of a hot breakfast cooked by Hilton who is your Host and Owner of the home. There is a large comfortable lounge room to use if you wish with books magazines and a large television , Hilton can advise you places to visit and points of interest in The Lakes District. We stayed three nights and it was hard to say goodbye to 1 Park Road Thankyou Hilton for the extra things you did for us. Highly recommend to stay if travelling in the area.

- Agnes (10/5): Will stay again! - We booked 2 rooms in this B&B. The rooms have good view from the windows and there is a large living room on the main floor to hang out. Hilton, the host, was most gracious and helpful. He provided us with wine glasses, chips and chocolates to enjoy in the living room. Breakfast was sumptuous and rooms were very clean. House is 5 minutes walk to Windermere center, 25 minutes walk to Bowness. Train station to London and local bus stop is only 5-10 minutes walk away. Bus 599 is the perfect sightseeing transportation to see the Central area. An all day Group (5 or less travel together) unlimited bus pass (€25) is a bargain. We didn’t bother driving at all for 2 days. Thank you again, Hilton. Wi-Fi connection was not stable

- Liz (10/5): Excellent. Would highly recommend. - Hilton was a lovely host. The guest house was really nice, comfortable and very clean. The location was perfect. A short walk into town which had some lovely little bars and resteraunts. The only constructive feedback I have is that my partner said his beans could have been hotter and he wasn't keen on the herbs that were on the mushrooms. Although he said they were cooked lovely. Maybe offer an option to have no herbs on the mushrooms.
