• Charlie (10/5): - Beautiful peaceful place to stay on edge of the park, just an hour drive from the summit. Kevin and Pansa were such great hosts and company, rooms were a very high standard and very comfortable. Delicious home cooked meals, especially the breakfast. Would definitely stay again!

• Noemi (10/5): - Everything was perfect! The structure has modern services with a beautiful design. I regret not planning to stay here for more days. It is an house in the middle of the park, in the morning you wake up in the nature,l with an amazing home cooked breakfast, made of delicious dishes with fruits and vegetables from the house garden. Good sleep is guaranteed and hosts are amazing. We highly recommend spending at least 2 nights here. Thanks for everything

• Sarah (9/5): Ein Paradies auf Erden - Die Gastgeber waren super nett und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten noch keine Roller und die Gastgeberin hat uns kurzerhand einfach in die nächste Stadt gefahren ohne etwas dafür zu verlangen. Die Hunde waren so süß, alles war so herzlich. Es ist ein kleines Paradies. Natur einfach super schön und die Nähe zum Nationalpark und die Tipps der Gastgeber einfach perfekt :) auch das typische Thai Frühstück und der frische Kaffee einfach nur toll :) Fehlendes Mückennetz (wir hatten zum Glück eines dabei aber sollte man wissen). Die angebotene Pizza war sehr lecker jedoch etwas zu teuer 350 Baht ( um die 10€) im Verhältnis zum übernachten. Das ist meckern auf hohem Niveau. Wir können die Unterkunft nur sehr empfehlen

Very nice non-thai host, who explained us many things about Thailand and gave valuable recommendations. Parking is in the front yard The room has a garden terrace where you may have breakfast and relax in your free time. Especially comfortable bed with the softest sheets. Very relaxing stay! Unfortunately, too short:-( If you ask for a second cup of coffee at breakfast, you will be charged for it. Only hot water is for free:-)

• W (9/5): A beautiful home stay with wonderful hosts - This is really a "home" stay. Suan Sook exudes in homely feeling for guests. Kevin and Pansa are fantastic hosts. Kevin even plucked a garden-grown pomelo at our request for us to taste during breakfast. Breakfast was great and generous in portion - drip coffee, local soup / rice dish, fruit juice and fruits. Dinner can be ordered, extra charges apply - but they are worth it! One of the most delicious pizza I've tasted. The property has a wonderful view of surrounding rice fields, longan orchard and mountains. It is peaceful and serene. The 3 loveable dogs will accompany you and make you feel at home! Not a dislike - the location is quite remote and we were prepared for it. Have your own transport arrangement, which can be easily done from Chiang Mai.

• David (7/5): Good - We booked last minute while driving the Mae Hong Son loop. The hosts are friendly and welcoming as are the dogs . Set in the countryside and very quiet and peaceful at night. The evening meal was home cooked and very tasty. No kettle or fridge in the room. The room smelled as if it had been shut up for a long time , quite musty and unpleasant. No choice at breakfast but the Thai breakfast provided was very tasty.

It's rather remote but this is something you know. The place is perfect for those who want to see the sunrise at doi inthanon. The breakfast is also fresh, homemade, traditional and delicious. None, it was exactly what we expected and it was perfect.
• Ceara (10/5): Beautiful Homestay in the most serene location with warm hospitality - Wow, there are so many good things to say about our stay at Suan Sook. First off, the hosts Kevin and Pansa are truly incredible and so kind. They did so much to make us feel welcome and to help us explore northern Thailand! They helped us coordinate a driver to explore Doi Inthanon National Park which was one of the favorite parts of our trip. Each morning they made the most delicious breakfast which we absolutely loved. The views overlooking the property are breathtaking and it’s such a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai. We are SO glad we found Suan Sook and that we chose this Homestay. Thank you Kevin and Pansa for everything! Nothing! What a wonderful stay!
• Cynthia (10/5): We walked the quiet street at day and night with the dogs leading the way and it was a comfortable stay. - The intimate view of the rice field, the room and the dogs they have are so clean, loving and friendly! The dinner we had was simple but good! One must realize they are off the beaten track with no facilities like nearby restaurants here- we like that but you must know what you like.

• Svetlana (5/5): When the place is that far from civilization hosts’d better be more supportive and helpful - The house is very nice, stylish, perfectly clean and comfortable. View is great! Tasty breakfasts. Unfortunately we’ve faces not the best service - lunches and dinners were not served the days we visited (and we were informed just an hour before arrival), no other places to eat nearby. No taxi available. And no information about that. We asked to recommend a local driver to show us Doi Inthanon, he didn’t know well what to show, all we wanted to see was already closed (even if time was proposed by the driver), it cost us quite a lot (1900 baht) as it was minivan (just for two people). When we planned to check-out Kevin just informed that each hour of late checkout will cost 200 baht, didn’t advise to call a car in advance and couldn’t support to find a local driver to go to the city. I read very good reviews in advance about hosts so I was disappointed to tears.

• Maren-anne (9/5): Superb - Suan Sook Homestay is a lovely guest house away from the urban hustles of Chiang Mai. The room and the whole guest house including the garden around the house is beautifully arranged with such a love for details. Especially the sunset is amazing to watch from the terrace. The room was really comfy and clean with a stunning view of the garden and the mountains of Doi Inthanon. Kevin and his wife we're really friendly and gave us a lot of recommendations for restaurants and local activities. The breakfast was also very delicious and we enjoyed the Thai meals homecooked by Kevins wife. It was also great to get a glimpse of the rural Thailand and it is a perfect starting point to explore the Doi Inthanon National Parc. To get there and explore the area it is recommended to rent a car or scooter. Nothing :)
• Theresa (10/5): Amazing location and amazing hosts - Kevin and Paspa’s Homestay was the best accommodation we had in our six weeks of travel through SE Asia. The room was so clean and comfortable, included breakfast was huge and delicious. We did pizza for one dinner and Thai curries for the next and the dishes were made with love, highly recommend to have their home cooked dinner. Their friendly dogs were the perfect cherry on top. Will definitely be coming back! Nothing!

Kevin was a fantastic host with lots of great recommendations for local food and attractions. Breakfast was amazing and the dogs were a very special treat! It was so hard to leave this place, we would come back any time.

Homemade bread out of the wood-fired oven was served with scrambled eggs and papaya for breakfast, along with great coffee and tea. Bed was comfortable and large. Friendly dogs were greeting guests. There were a few cobwebs in upper areas of the bathroom. Wi-Fi speed was insufficient to stream video content. Tv and DVD player were working, but all dvd’s were in Thai language.
• Andrew (10/5): A great stay - We really enjoyed our stay At Suan Sook...We travelled with a friend so we booked the two bedroom guesthouse. We were greeted by three wonderful dogs and the check-in was super easy. Kevin has put a lot of thought into the property and provides the perfect balance of a 'community' feel with professionalism . Breakfasts were great....excellent coffee/fruit along with local breakfast foods....the pizza was excellent too! Really enjoyed spending a couple nights here and making new friends. We'll be back. Property is set off the main road by a few kilometers so you need private transportation....there is a microwave and refrigerator so would advise bringing snacks/drinks as local options to buy are limited. Do try the pizza!

• Laarni (9/5): Lovely stay with friendly hosts and dogs in beautiful surroundings - We are a middle aged couple who enjoyed their stay here. We wanted to get away from the city so we stayed here and it didn't disappoint! If you're looking for peaceful surroundings, rice fields, beautiful garden setting with mountain views and need to slow down, this is the place! We enjoyed walking and running around rice fields and small villages. The host helped us book a jeep and driver to explore doi inthanon. Kevin and his wife also made amazing breakfasts (traditional thai) and excellent local, pour over coffee. Dinner was also delicious - green curry and Thai pizza! They have 3 friendly dogs who love to escort guests on their runs or walks. I would stay here again! The hosts are so friendly and we enjoyed our conversations.

• Rasha (10/5): Cosy place immersed in nature - Cosy, comfortable room with beautiful natural surroundings. So peaceful especially when waking up to the sounds of nature. The location was 15 min from the park entrance so after a long day at the park it was perfect to come back to. Breakfast option was only Thai, but good if you don't mind that.

It’s a treat! - Everything 👍👍👍 We arrived at Penza’s and Kevin’s beautifully designed homestay after a long and winding, beautiful day on the Mae Hong Son Loupe with the peak experience of Doi Inthanon, above the clouds. The hospitality of our hosts was amazing. We really felt at home in this stylish HOME. We enjoyed the yummy breakfast and dinner and the interesting talks with Penza and Kevin. Kevin is a photographer who gave us a privat tour through some of his expressive fotos and collages. If we could we had adopted one of the hearty dogs. This homestay is exceptional!!! Don’t miss the half hour distance 280 m high waterfall Mae Ya. nada
• Anonymous (9/5): Homestay as it best - Everything what was on offer. The rooms are spacious, beds comfortable and big. Furniture made of solid wood which contrast with the stone walls. The small terrace provides an exceptional view toward the mountains. Not to forget the very good breakfast provided by the owner. (In our case, a hearty Thai dish and fruits) No issues here.

• Elliot (9/5): Superb - Would highly recommend staying at Suan Sook, especially if you want to check out Doi Inthanon for a day or two from Chiang Mai. The property was easy to find, the family guesthouse we stayed in was spacious, clean, well laid-out. The hosts Kevin and his wife were very friendly and helpful, and kept us very well-fed. The included breakfast was very filling just as you need when hiking around all day, we also took up the offer for dinner (extra cost) and Kevin cooked us 2 Thai-Style pizzas in his home-built stone pizza oven, and his wife also made us an incredible Thai green curry. Apparently they will soon be offering beer and other home-grown herbs. The absolute highlight was being followed around by their cute dogs during our whole stay.
• Catherine (8/5): Very good - The personal contact with Pansa and Kevin was really nice and they spent a lot of time chatting to us. Dinner was simple but very good and the Thai breakfast was delicious. The bed was very comfortable. The rural setting is charming. We have given Suan Sook 8 points although we found it rather expensive in comparison to all our other homestays and considering the lack of amenities such as tissues and tea and coffee- making facilities.

• Osly (10/5): Lugar perfeito para descansar e estar com a natureza - Everything was awesome! The room was impecable, the bed perfect for profound sleep, the place is very quiet, peaceful and surrounded by amazing nature, beautiful rice fields in the bottom of Inthanon Park, but the best thing was the opportunity to meet the hosts Kevin and Panza, they really treated me very well. Panza cooked the most delicious food (try the green curry! the best green curry in whole thailand! the breakfast was amazing too, very healthy and tasty, with fresh local coffee). They are also very talented photographers, so if you have the opportunity ask them to show their work, you will be amazed. Kevin is such a kind person, he has a very good taste for music and we talked for hours and hours about our different but similar spiritual experiences. At the end of each conversatio I had a big list of music to listen and books to read! I really would like to meet them again! Nothing. Everything was perfect
