• Kenna (7/5): Good value simple B&B - Convenient location with storage for bicycles. Warm room. Comfortable bed. OK breakfast. The decor of the whole place is pretty tired. The rooms are quite small. These things are probably reflected in the price which is reasonable for the area.

My mistake but arriving mid-day in sleeting rain, I didn’t appreciate a note saying it was closed until 3.00pm and I could leave my case outside (in the rain) until then.

• Gil (4/5): Une étape…… - Un retour dans les années 70 au niveau de la déco et du paiement du petit déjeuner en sus qui ne peut se faire qu’en cash. La largeur des lits de notre chambre triple qui était de 90cm chacun. Je n’avais plus dormi dans ce genre de lit depuis mes 16 ans. Cependant, au mois d’août, le prix est moins exorbitant que partout ailleurs, donc…… La chambre familiale qui plutôt que de proposer 3 lits en 90 pourrait offrir un lit double et un simple. Une eau de douche qui tiédît dès que le robinet du lavabo est ouvert. Pas de possibilité de restauration, sachant que les restaurants alentours sont, soit fermés, soit peu attractifs.

On a very cold week, the guest house was so comfortable and warm. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We so enjoyed our additional breakfast in the morning -- it was delicious! The location is central and ideal for exploring Kingussie. The guest house was so peaceful and a lovely atmosphere.

Verschrikkelijke ervaring, een smet op vakantie. - Heerlijke overnachting in auto met een nacht temperatuur van 5 graden Onvriendelijke, onbehulpzame host zonder empatisch vermogen. Door een lekke band en het veel langzamer moeten rijden ivm langdurig hevige regen onderweg zouden wij net de deadline van het inchecken niet halen. Netjes een berichtje gestuurd en de reactie was kortweg: 21.00 ben ik dicht, wij annuleren jouw boeking. Gevolg: noodgedwongen slapen in de auto, omdat er in de wijde omtrek niets meer beschikbaar/bereikbaar was en uiteraard zien wij het betaalde geld voor de overnachting ook niet terug.

• Donald (7/5): A pleasant location with a friendly, welcoming host, and a comfortable bed. - The parking is easy if you're on a road trip, and it is close to the Dalwhinnie Distillery, which is a fabulous spot to visit. Even though we arrived late we still managed to get an excellent Indian meal at a restaurant just a short stroll into the town. I had an expectation that the room had an ensuite, however, the "private" bathroom was a stroll down the hall. The automatic lights turned off too quickly which made trying to open the "private" bathroom with a key in the middle of the night difficult.

Powiedziano nam, że po tej godzinie nas nie wpuszczą, nie było możliwości jakiegokolwiek porozumienia się, negocjacji. Nie otrzymaliśmy żadnej pomocy, wsparcia, podpowiedzi w sprawie noclegu. NA WLASNY KOSZT MUSIELISMY W NOCY ZAREZERWOWAĆ DRUGI HOTEL- co nie było łatwe, a kosztowne), po naszym przyjeździe na drugi dzień - usłyszeliśmy , tekst: BIznes, to biznes. Nie pracują tu z miłości. Pokój miał być z prywatną łazienką - okazało się, że jest ona na końcu korytarza.

• Alicia (7/5): Muy cómodo y limpio - Todo muy limpio, la señora de la casa es majísima y estuvimos muy cómodos. Se puede aparcar en la puerta y muy cerca, unos 3-5 minutos a pie, hay varias opciones de restaurantes para cenar. El baño privado está fuera de la habitación, es un poco rollo pero en nuestro caso no había más huéspedes así que no fue ningún problema. También hay un lavabo en el dormitorio. La cama se hunde un poco y se oyen los muelles, aunque dormimos muy bien. La ducha tiene un calentador raro, es difícil conseguir buena temperatura y sale muy poca presión y cantidad.

• Sheilagh (8/5): Comfortable bed with good breakfast in Kingussie - Sue was welcoming & friendly. Very comfortable bed in a quiet, good value B&B. Breakfast was very good. Avondale House is a great base for exploring the area. There was lots of tourist information/leaflets available in the hall. We spent very little time in the house but there didn’t appear to be anywhere to sit/read other than one desk/dining chair in the bedroom.

Zimmer und Bad waren schön eingerichtet, sauber und hatten von der Ausstattung her alles, was man braucht. Vermieter wohnen mit im Haus und waren sehr freundlich, unkompliziert und hilfsbereit. Frühstück war nicht im Preis enthalten und wurde bar bezahlt. War sehr lecker, typisch schottisch. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.

Nous avons été très bien accueilli par la propriétaire. Propreté impeccable et salle de bain privative - bien qu'à l'autre bout du palier - très agréable et spacieuse. Emplacement idéal pour découvrir le parc national, les highlands en général et le Highland Museum. La chambre était un peu petite, nous avons du garder nos valises sous le lit. Mais c'était acceptable pour une nuit.

• Kenny (8/5): Great spot for a stop when travelling - Very comfortable room with a huge bed and adequate shower room. Host was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was £10 for a full Scottish with cereal and lovely fresh fruit. Good value and very tasty. Nice sized telly (not that we watched it), bigger than in some similar places. Last check in is 9pm which seems a little early when travelling after work from Edinburgh. Phoned host and she agreed to let us arrive up to 9:30 after which the doors would be locked and we would have to find somewhere else. But it all worked out fine and we were able to get a pizza in the local pub rather than a chippy in Aviemore as we had planned.

Room comfortable and this time we made sure to book a room with an ensuite shower (we didn't like having just a freestanding bath in the bedroom last year - too difficult to use shower attachment without spraying everywhere!) which was good. The drinks in the room were good and the large TV excellent. The breakfast (pay extra) was good - especially appreciate the fresh fruit, and my husband loved his cooked breakfast. We didn't like the breakfast coffee - hard to know why, as it was filter coffee in a cafetiere which we plunged after a good wait as usual - possibly boiling water poured on to scald it rather than recently boiled? Or maybe just the water locally wasn't to our taste for coffee!
• George (3/5): - Nothing Management was not friendly, they told us to we are not allowed to the garden. We can’t use the lounge etc. it was very bad experience. It was a 4 days trips . Avondale house accommodation was the worst accommodation we got.

• Juanma (1/5): Lamentable atención al cliente y política de empresa - Atención pésima, ante una situación excepcional por un pinchazo en la carretera y no llegar al check in a las 21:00 (¿qué lugar civilizado no tiene un check in 24 horas después de pagar 120 libras?) no nos dieron ninguna opción para alojarnos y tuvimos que buscar otro alojamiento. No aceptaron devolvernos el dinero, ni una parte, y el trato por teléfono fue hasta diría burlón. • Vincent (3/5): - L'entrée de la maison n'est pas très accueillante et mal entretenue. La chambre ne respire pas la propreté et mériterait d'être refaite.idem pour la salle de bain et toilettes. Odeur désagréable. Pourquoi ne pas vouloir accueillir ses visiteurs dans de meilleures conditions. Pas eu envie du petit déjeuner dans ces conditions !
• Bedrik (7/5): - Accueil sympathique, lit confortable, bon pdj Propreté à revoir, wc ds le couloir de la maisonnée, route passante, pas de spa comme annoncé
