Guest Reviews
- Teron (8/5): overall a very pleasant stay. - did not have the breakfast, would have probably been better to have tried it.
found the overall atmosphere to be welcoming. found other guest to be lack luster in following cultural respects, so this is not directly on the proprietor. The attitude and lack of respect for customs and Onsen rules was a bit disappointing. Some of the other guests and including some of the foreign temp staff showed carelessness for respecting the culture.

- Marc (6/5): Ok stay - Good location, nice & friendly woman at counter Onsen room is freezing but the onsen itself is scalding hot , difficult to bathe. Maybe it’s for the locals who like scalding hot onsens
Small room.
No fridge, water dispenser
Some other guests were rowdy and there was a man who vomited in the woman’s toilet…

- Emilio (8/5): Great for its price and central location. Great stay! - Lovely staff + the cat Poru! Perfect location, honestly couldnt be any better, so central next to the terminal, ski hire & main street. Dry room for snowgear was handy + the onsen was perfect.
Discounts for snow gear was great too. The mattresses were pretty stiff especially after skiing but everything else was great.
- Brett (8/5): -
- Romero (10/5): Great location - Great location and super comfortable in a traditional ryokan.
- Yi Chun (9/5): -
- RONNIE (8/5): - the onsen is very good, we stay there just before peak season , we always has the onsen all to ourself, the location of the hotel is perfect , a short walk will bring to to super market, laundry , restaurants , gear rentals etc. the onsite carpark is very small , can only park 4-5 cars but there is a large public carpark few hundreds meters away ( free ! ), it's ok to park there if the weather is good , but a different story if there is a snowstorm just like we did. And there is not daily cleaning of the room.
- Nick (8/5): - Great location and friendly staff

- Terence (8/5): Great value and convenient location for Nozawa Onsen. - Fab location and as usual great Japanese hospitality. Will definitely come again. Good value, especially seeing it's location is less than 200m from the main bus stop. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Far superior experience to any hotel....... Dinner options are available but for 2 or more people. Discounted tickets and non consecutive multi day tickets are only available from accommodation in Nozawa Onsen (ie not available from the lift ticket office). There's also discounted ski rental at the local rental shop, note no powder skis here, only carvers. Fantastic on site Onsen as in spring water. Nothing.
- Brianne (8/5): Very good -
- Morgan (8/5): Would stay here again - Great location. Value for money. Amazing staff Beds are a bit hard but you pay for what you get! Otherwise we loved this place.
- Wee (8/5): Very good -
- Mitchell (8/5): Very good -
- Noe (7/5): Good value for money but you get what you pay for - Onsen was easily the best part Not very clean, breakfast was mid, no hot water
- Fynn (10/5): Exceptional - Great, helpful, friendly staff, giving local recommendations. Dry Room for storage of snow gear, great location close to mountain shuttle bus. Great onsen to relax after big day on the slopes.
- Faa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caitlin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (9/5): Superb - Rustic, but great! The owners are very friendly and helpful. It has a well-worn charm in the common areas, and our room was clean and warm. If you're just looking for a place to lay your head at night, and plan to spend most of your time skiing and then hanging out at a restaurant/ bar afterwards - this place is excellent value. It's close to everything, including the shuttle bus, and they also have their own onsen (albeit a VERY hot one).
- Smith (7/5): Good -
- Deborah (10/5): Traditional accommodation, very homely, amazing staff - Very homely, amazing staff, so welcoming and helpful. We loved the traditional accomodation with its small but amazing onsen. Great value for money, spectacular views. Will definitely stay here on our next trip to Japan Lots of stairs but that’s all part of it. No complaints really
- Graham (9/5): Superb - Friendly, efficient and good value in the right location. Also quiet.
- Courtney (6/5): Pleasant - Great location and friendly owner
- Niccolo (8/5): Very good -
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- สุวีณา (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dmytro (10/5): Simple ryokan - Warm and comfortable ryokan. Onsen, massage chair and a cat are my favourites. Lady running this place is friendly and welcoming. We have stayed two years in a row here. Absolute value.
- Christina (4/5): Very expensive for sub-standard accommodation. - Very little. It was cold and uninviting. Pretty much everything. The room was okay and at least it was warm.
- Bianca (9/5): A very a traditional japanese hospitality experience, which we enjoyed -
- Nai (3/5): Poor - Location is fantastic, and staff are friendly and helpful. Been to a few other similar establishments and always enjoyed it. For some reason did not feel at ease at this one - my family and myself were unable to fall asleep in the 4 nights we stayed despite it being quiet. Breakfast was also very very basic.
- Ed (8/5): Very good -
- Ellen (9/5): lovely to have our very own onsen to rest our sore feet in after a long day on the slopes - the onsen
- Brante (7/5): Good -
- Paul (8/5): it was pretty well as anticipated. - proximity to main restaurant area.
Japanese style rooms as expected.
Japanese Breakfast was good.
Onsen was ok drying room to small.
it was a little tired
a fair walk up the hill to get to gondolas
- Mike (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lindsey (10/5): Great traditional style accommodation - We really enjoyed our stay at Seisenso. The host was kind and helpful. The room was beautiful and comfortable. There is a private onsen in the basement. It is just a short walk to the ski mountain and even shorter walk into town. We would stay again. The breakfast was okay but not great.
- Rich (9/5): Superb -
- Luke (9/5): Superb -
- Ryan (6/5): Pleasant - Great, central location! My sinuses would get stuffy every time I was in the room so maybe there is a mold issue in the tatami?
- Justin (8/5): Very good -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Aaron (10/5): Exceptional -
