Guest Reviews
- Paul (9/5): Good place for funerals as they put the fun in it. - Really nice guy running the place and gave us a lift back to the Pennine Way. Breakfast was ok and they offered a pack up for lunch. The venue is not so easy to get to hiking as along a busy fast road.

- Cheryl (8/5): Fabulous for hikers on The Pennine Way with a pick up and drop off the next morning service. The fo. - They offer a pick up service for hikers. That day there was a fire and walkers were turned around to come off a different route. Lee went out of his way to collect and accommodate this change. Very kind and exceptional service
- Ross (9/5): The only place to stay near Crowden! Thoroughly recommended. - Really helpful staff who go the extra mile, literally, to make your stay a good one. We stayed as part of our Pennine Way walk. Lee picked us up from Crowden and dropped us off the next morning. Fantastic service. Toilet seat in our bathroom was pretty useless.
- Jenny (10/5): Lovely little stopover in a beautiful location - Spotlessly clean, idyllic location & beautiful views, set in a perfect spot if hiking along the Pennine Way. Lee was the perfect host. He was so very welcoming and made every effort to ensure our short stay was enjoyable. We were particularly grateful of the pick up to Windy Harbour after a long day hiking. Thank you again, Jenny & Jeff

- Judith (10/5): Perfect Pennine Way retreat - We stayed at Windy Harbour whilst hiking the Pennine Way during Storm Dave. We couldn't have been more grateful for the kindness and hospitality from Lee and the rest of the team. Lee appeared at the end of the path to pick us up which was a complete surprise and dropped us off again the next morning. There was a hot fire to dry our boots, a delicious evening meal, packed lunches and a cooked breakfast! We couldn't have been better looked after. Thank you
- Lena (8/5): Good choice for anyone walking the Pennine Way - Very friendly staff - I appreciated the lift to and from the Pennine Way. Very welcoming and well set up for walkers. Room a little tired eg. sliding door to bathroom was loose.
- Lauren Victoria Kate (10/5): - Fantastic stay! Lee and his team couldn't do enough for us. They really know their customer base. Having walked from Edale, we were in need of a hot shower and home cooked food and we got that plus so much more! Extremely attentive, they couldn't do enough for us and the packed lunch for the next day was incredible - exceptional food quality and just what you need after several hours+ of walking!
- Nixon (7/5): Great location, service & breakfast but room provided needed some maintenance. - Service was brilliant. Very good breakfast. Room although comfortable needed some maintenance. Especially the Bathroom
- Shower platform unstable.
- Bathroom mirror needed replacing. Shelving beneath was blistering.
- Small amount of mould.
- Toilet seat didn't fit the pan correctly.
Bed size three quarter not double.

- sandra (9/5): Lovely location, lovely Saturday night meal - We didn't have breakfast as we had a meal the night before and didn't have space for breakfast! Chairs in the dining room could have some cushions on as they are quite hard
- Vicky (10/5): A very welcoming stay at a lovely well looked after property - Very welcoming very clean bright spacious and well catered for everyone’s needs. Very friendly down to earth and welcoming staff did anything they could to help if needed. The food was great and again anything is possible and not too much trouble for them x

- Lois (10/5): Amazing would definitely stay again - Love the decor threw the whole place such a beautiful rustic feeling!! The staff were very welcoming and rooms was very clean, everything was just how you would want for a b+b. Such beautiful veiws could see the whole of glossop from our window The Water pressure in taps and showers could be abit better, along side the heat of the water but apart from that it was lovely
- Matthew (7/5): Nice room, friendly staff, average breakfast. - Room was clean and decor was fresh staff were polite. Breakfast was disappointing especially given the other reviews as being ‘outstanding’. I would rate as average.
- Charlotte (8/5): Heerlijke plek in de heuvels - Heerlijke plek in de heuvels. Ontbijt dat op bestelling wordt gemaakt. Geen lunch meer nodig ;)
- Emma (7/5): - A friendly welcome and great location. Good value. The room was very small and I could feel the springs on the mattress on the double so it wasn’t very comfortable.
- Tracey (6/5): - Staff were friendly. The room and en-suite were small but clean and adequate for our needs. Floor boards were squeaky in en-suite.
- Colleen (7/5): - Very peaceful surroundings. Great breakfast. Comfy accommodation. There wasn't a plug next to the bed to be able to charge our phones etc

- Terry (8/5): -
- Christina (9/5): Home away from home. - Cosy stay. Comfortable bed and room felt like home away from home. Breakfast 10/10 is one of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time. The only negative is mirrors. The light above the bathroom mirror was broken in both rooms, and the only other mirror in the bedroom was in the darkest part of the room. Would have been good to have a mirror where the coffees were or a light above one of the current mirrors.
- Grizelda (10/5): Beautiful location. Comfortable and quiet. - Lovely location with beautiful views.
Comfortable and warm. Great vegetarian breakfast. Plenty of parking.
The restaurant wasn’t open as it was Monday but restaurants were available in nearby Glossop.
- Keith (9/5): A welcoming B&B. Excellent. - We enjoyed a couple of nights stay at Windy Harbour. It's a perfect location for nearby Hadfield and Glossop, and the beautiful High Peak countryside. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly, and professional. Reasonably priced. Most recommended.

Super staff - very helpful Shower pressure - but for one night was okay.
- charlotte (8/5): - Helpful and pleasant staff. Lee gave me a lift to where I needed to start my walk. Very attentive.
- Philip (10/5): Excellent - Great location when walking the start of the Pennine Way. It’s a mile or so off the route and our host picked us up after a very long and tough trek on one of the hottest days of the summer. The restaurant was about to close but he made sure we could order ahead. We were dropped off back on the trail after a great breakfast the next morning.
- Lee (10/5): - Great breakfast! Welcoming staff. A nice overnight stay for two mountain bikers.
- Susan (9/5): The staff work hard to give a really good existence and it is - The breakfast was excellent. It really was beautifully cooked and very well presented. Excellent ingredients thank you The shower was very clean but it needs re sealing between wall and shower tray
- Margaux (9/5): Lovely place for an enjoyable stay - Beautiful and calm location, very nice people, comfy bed, motorbike safely parked. Bathroom and shower quite small, would deserve some upgrade.
- Colin (8/5): Great stay, great hosts and great location. - Quaint old farm house with add on restaurant and small bar. Good location for ramblers and touring alike. Hosts were great thank you. Rooms small but clean and comfortable accessible by a steep set of stairs. Cooked breakfast was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here.
- Joan (8/5): Beautiful views and a comfortable short stay - Beautiful location, friendly and helpful staff - only there for overnight stay. Rooms modern but cosy and well decorated Steep stairs could be a challenge for those with heavy luggage or limited mobility/fitness levels
- Deanne (8/5): -
- Alan (8/5): Relaxing rural stay. - Very pleasant place to stay - lovely rural location, and pleasant room with all the usual amenities. Great view from 2 opening windows. Clean and comfortable, let down only by very poor water pressure in the shower. Shower water pressure.
- Tiffany (8/5): Very good - The staff were super friendly and the views were beautiful The Internet connection and signal was quite poor - but this didnt impact our stay too much
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- April (9/5): Overall great experience would highly recommend - Amazing location, super friendly staff, cosy rooms, overall great service & tasty breakfast No extractor fan in bathroom so the bedroom becomes very humid after showering
- Hannah (7/5): Comfortable room in a great location for outdoor activities - The host was friendly and the system of booking your evening meal and next day pack up on arrival was genius, they are used to catering for walkers and cyclists. Evening bar food was good and the breakfast freshly made and plentiful. Room was comfortable if slightly basic, with a coffee machine. The location was perfect for us just off the trans pennine trail when cycling. Great view from the room. We were told to put our bikes in the corner of the bar and we didn't feel they were safe. Stairs too steep and room too small to put bikes in there, but a more secure store or a bike hook on the wall to lock them to would be a good future development.

We were picked up from the trail and taken back there the next morning, which was brilliant. The welcome was very friendly and staff extremely helpful. Enjoyed a drink in the bar and a good meal before a great night's sleep.
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Ben (9/5): Superb - Really welcoming staff and friendly atmosphere Nothing
- Sarah (8/5): Excellent location, extremely friendly, brilliant breakfast - will stay again - Breakfast was excellent - nice and hot and great choice Slightly noisy shower - worried we would disturb our fellow guests
- Andy (8/5): Very good -
- Panayiota (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matt (9/5): Superb - Food was excellent and plentiful, staff and host were very accommodating. All in all, it was good value for money Not what I didn't like, but just a point to note!! The property is about a mile from glossop (which we were aware of when booking) and can be walked in about 30 mins (all downhill) though the 1st ⅓has no pathway
- Rosie (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly, helpful staff 😊
- David (10/5): In sad circumstances we felt inspired by the surroundings. - Excellent staff, delicious food and a location to die for. The occasion was a memorial service for a dear friend - but that can't be helped. Everyone enjoyed the get together
- Kathleen (9/5): Superb -
- Russ (9/5): Superb -
- Alexander (9/5): Superb - A great place to stay for a weekend in the Peak District, just up the road from Glossop so very close restaurants, pubs and shops, as well as being near Snake Pass, for access to many walking trails and POIs.
The staff were great, the room was small but very comfortable and clean, and the food was quality, on time and made to order
- Morgana (10/5): Cosy and comfortable stay. Definitely recommend! - We had the twin room which overlooked fields with sheep in! The room was very cosy with comfy beds. We were able to order breakfast for the next morning. Lee was very welcoming and informative. The whole property was cosy and great for our stay. The wifi was a bit slow when watching TV however we only noticed that in the evening and didn’t bother us too much! Everything else was brilliant!
- Angela (8/5): Stunning location - Very small room but comfortable bed and quality linen. Coffee maker, kettle and drinks supplied. Loved the addition of teapot. Fantastic views. Staff were great. Happy to book taxi and recommend places to go. Bar was good. Breakfast amazing Carpet up skirting in bathroom. Shower on raised plinth and having to reverse onto toilet. Very cramped bathroom. Only breakfast served at weekends. Would have been nice to have a meal there
