- Laura (10/5): Agradable y familiar - Personal súper atento y familiar, acogedor.

- Don (10/5): - Super friendly and helpful hotel proprietors! Wonderful upstairs room with Mountain View.

- Elaine (8/5): - The hosts were exceptionally attentive and friendly
The little courtyard delightful to sit out in. The room was very dated and dark, making it a little claustrophobic .
- Noel (10/5): Exceptional - Several Pueblos blancos nearby. Good place for hiking. Ronda a short distance away. Restaurant on site with very decent food.
- Ian (9/5): Superb - Very friendly and welcoming, lovely hosts.
- Michael (10/5): Fantastic place to stay. - Wonderful hosts who are always happy and smiling and very helpful. Breakfast and Dinner was delicious and all home cooked with care and love. In a great location with comfy beds and a nice lounge to relax. Nothing it was perfect.

- KarenElaineandJohn (10/5): Comida Casera at its finest! - A second and third visit to the new restaurant at the Posada (now named the Rincon de la Posada). Food as excellent as the first time in March when it was just opened. Fantastic canalones, both meat and veg versions, and plenty more besides. Well done Carol, Xavi and Romi...see you when we next in Montejaque!
- Alex (9/5): Superb -
- KarenElaineandJohn (10/5): A great new addition to Montejaque - evening dining at Posada del Fresno. - We had the great pleasure of dining in the very newly opened restaurant at the Posada del Fresno. Fantastic home style food - a small menu but tasty, fresh and with an interesting nod to Catalunya, where the lovely chef and her family are from. Buena seurte a todos!
- Jeremy (9/5): Superb - Wonderful place for a few days walking and exploring. Hosts and locals alike, lovely, friendly people. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return Nothing
- James (10/5): Perfect spot for hiking in this area. - Clean, quiet, good food. Hosts are wonderful with lots of information. Nothing.
- Helen (8/5): Really enjoyed our stay in Montejaque especially the restaurant in the square - lovely location & good breakfast could just have done with a kettle Quirky & very clean
- NicholasG342 (8/5): Rustic hospitality - We had a lovely welcome from our hostess, a really genuine greeting.
The rooms are around the central courtyard with space to sit outside and chat to other guests.
The rooms are compact but the beds are comfortable and of course you are not spending a fortune to stay here !
- O (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Perfect place to relax and go back in time - Lovely owners, you will feel at home. Perfect service.
Rural property, renovated with good taste preserving the essence of old Andalusian houses. The town it's incredibly quiet and perfect to relax. You can walk to the hills and observe deers and mountain goats. Breakfast could be better.
- Robert (10/5): Mysigt familjehotell - Familjär stämming. Vänlig personal.
- ChristineYeatman (10/5): Beautiful house and lovely hosts - Thank you Roni and Angel for looking after us so well. Sadly we could only stay one night as we were walking on the coast to coast route. We loved your very special home and the room we stayed in was perfect even in the July heat.
Montejaque town touched our hearts. The pretty town square, narrow streets, fantastic panadería and many restaurants to choose from.
So kind to provide an early breakfast so we could start walking early.
Vivir es una fiesta ! 😁
- Stephen (10/5): Hotel in the village of montejaque - Would recommed quiet hotel very friendly and helpful also do packed lunches on request lovely family in the heart of the village with lots of things to do also recomended nice restuarant in the village and lovely breakfast also some nice tapas bars in the village thank you so much for a pleasant stay margaret & steve x
- Julie (8/5): Over priced? - This is a lovely place to stay. The owner is very kind and very friendly. Breakfast was very good. However my wife and I considered it over priced given their size of the room etc. Being on a walking holiday one day here one day there we have stayed in accommodation considerably better value for money. There is no doubt the place has great character though. Perhaps the cost has something to do with the location it is very beautiful. But also maybe because it's on the tourist trail and quite close to Ronda?
- FNP-Gib (10/5): A 5* hostel! - If you are staying in the area, this is the place to go. Comfortable, clean and extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Highly recommend the breakfasts too!
A 5* hostel in the middle of the Sierra de Ronda.
- Lukejmw (10/5): You will get the friendliest welcome here - This is a very lovely hotel indeed.
Romi and Angel the owners really went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
We were on a walking holiday, and Angel was very interested in our route and how we had found it.
The extremely comfortable lounge for guests was packed with interesting books (local area, birdwatching, local environment etc) and knick knacks.
The room was immaculate and beautifully done out.
I would most definitely return here if in the area.
- SarahC0805 (8/5): Quaint, historic, rural inn - If you choose to stay here, you should know that there will be no parking within at least 200-300 metres, access uphill and narrow steep stairs. It is a lovely old property, small but comfortable room (a bit dark and not really a place to spend time relaxing), rather tiny bathroom. The design matches the location nicely. We were welcomed and included breakfast was good (although I do believe a previous reviewer was correct in saying the juice was Sunny D!). We didn't use the wifi because it was not available in the rooms and there didn't seem to be a comfortable public area. From reading other reviews, I think that maybe we missed out on a few things: we weren't aware of the reading room, and were not offered dinner. I felt the room rate was high for the type of property in November (clearly the most expensive of 6 we are using on this "tour" including a couple of 3* hotels), but maybe it's what the local market dictates.
- karenbG2148PL (10/5): Third stop of our walking holiday - Spent two nights at Posada del Fresno and would come back again. Run by a lovely couple who could not do enough for you. Impressed just after we arrived from our long walk, our host offered a couple of cold beers which were well received. Our stay coincided with a local festival which made it more special.
- esprit12017 (10/5): two nights stay whilst hiking - Really lovely welcome spotlessly clean .charming bedroom in character with the property but very comfortable. Lovely breakfast very friendly hosts would recommend staying here where you see the real Spain. Pretty village with little bars and a few good eating places. We recommend Casita restaurant, Spanish and Italian.
- RussellG478 (10/5): Very friendly and helpful. - I recommend this wonderful place to stay if you are looking for a relaxing peaceful holiday. The service was exceptional and couldn't ask for more.
Highly recommended!!! It is at the center of the town close to supermarkets but still quiet and peacful.
- suerV8611OB (8/5): Warm hospitality - Booked in on our walking holiday. Arrived to such a friendly welcome as if we were old friends. The rooms were small but very traditional for the area, lovely and clean. The whole village is a great place to stay. A good ample Spanish breakfast is served.
- geov955 (8/5): Enchanting property in Montejaque - We stayed at the Posada del Fresno for two nights 2nd to 4th December. The property is an old traditional white village house with a small central courtyard very close to the centre of Montejaque. The welcome we were given by the owners (and their yorkshire terrier) was as though we were old friends.
We were given a lovely room on the second floor, spotlessly clean, very effective heating, with mineral water provided. We were recommended to eat at La Casita which is located in a courtyard nearby with a lovely outside terrace looking out over gardens into the surrounding hills.
A good Spanish breakfast is served on the lower floor offering more than ample juice, tea & coffee, toast, jams, marmalade & spreads, with fresh fruit.
On the first floor there is a very peaceful reading room, library well stocked with bird watching, walking and general interest books in Spanish and English.
We found the whole experience very restfull, and ideal for visiting Ronda which is around 20 minutes distance. Without any hesitation we would recommend the Posado del Fresno.
- 747deepankark (10/5): Wonderful - We stayed here a night as part of an On Foot walking holiday. Montejaque is a charming pueblo blanco, quieter than Grazalema, quite distinctive. And at Posada del Fresno we had wonderful hospitality.
We had two charming rooms with beautiful floors, furniture and views. We also stayed some time in a very cosy lounge. The couple that took care of us paid us a lot of attention and were very warm and welcoming. The home cooked breakfast and dinner was very welcome.
Would love to stop here again a night sometime !
- angelarA6770VN (6/5): Small place, no views - We arrived in a downpour and were quickly shown to our room, while resting there it sounded like the family were stood outside the door having a loud conversation so I decided to go to the lounge to read. When I emerged I discovered the family were indeed outside the door having a loud conversation. They dispersed when I went to the lounge, wish i had not put up with it so long! We had paella to eat in the hotel which was very good, as another review mentions it was sunny delight at breakfast, not fresh orange juice. The hosts were quite friendly by the time we came to leave so perhaps they were just having an off day when we arrived
- PrasunChoudhury (8/5): Nice stay in quaint village of Montejaque - I stayed in this for 5 days in Jan 2015; sorry it took me a year to post this review. The rooms are small, clean with nice views and there is also a reading area where I enjoyed some of my time. Its also located in the middle of Montejaque from where one can walk quickly to eateries nearby. There was good breakfast every morning that made me ready for the day. I took daily walks from Montejaque with a local nature walking and Posada del Fresno was a perfect place for me to unwind at the end of the day. Over a nice stay in a friendly family run B&B in Montejaque!
- JanO1037 (10/5): Montejaque gem - What a delight Posado del Fresno is!!! You cannot put a price on this kind of genuine Spanish rural hospitality. Romi & Angel are keen to ensure your stay in Montejaque is as enjoyable as possible. We found their warmth & enthusiasm could transcend any language barriers.
We loved our cozy little room on the third floor with its tasteful decorations, comfortable bed & magnificent views out the window across the terra cotta rooftops to the mountains beyond.
Romi’s homecooking was a delight. The appetisers, the warming broth, the fish and then on our last night – Romi's paella was SO, SO good! This is food cooked and served with love not pretence! Loved it. JAN & GLEN - AUSTRALIA
- woodsider79 (6/5): Quirky - We stayed three nights here as a base for local hiking and exploration. We had the little room at the top of the house ?3 - lots of narrow steps, not a problem for us. There is no smoking in the guest areas, but the hosts smoked in their own rooms, leaving the door open so that smoke drifted up the stairs even to our room at the top.
The room was very small, with no space to open even our small suitcase. And the bathroom was tiny too. But we had a nice view from the windows over the rooftops and across the valley. Two single beds pushed together. There was also a folding bed in the corner which took up most of the spare space (when folded up). No idea how this could have fitted in unfolded! Electrics were a bit odd too. Bedside lights (the only lights) were on a two-way switch from the door, despite running from wall sockets. Indeed, this was the only socket reachable to charge a phone, but of course it turned off when we left the room, turning off the 'lights' as we went. Of course we came back to find phone battery still flat. I eventually located another socket behind the folded bed, but barely reachable.
Breakfast in the basement was good, with ham. cheese, toast (rather hard!) tomatoes etc. Also a bowl of fruit with apples, oranges, bananas... by the third morning it was down to just oranges.
One reason we booked here was the possibility of eating in the evening, so on the second day we asked at breakfast if we could have dinner too. We mentioned that we particularly enjoy vegetables and were assured enthusiastically that everything would be local and fresh.... After a long hike we were looking forward to dinner. First course was soup - always welcome after a long day's hiking. This though was unexciting. Clear broth with chopped ham, egg and noodles. For main course we shared a baccalao, which came with 2 spinach croquettes each the size of my (small) thumb, and pork chops which came with half a baked potato and half a grilled tomato. And flan. So much for stressing the importance of vegetables.
Altogether not quite as good an experience as we had hoped.
- nomorecamping4me (8/5): Friendly and cosy B&B in beautiful village - We only stayed one night but were instantly made to feel at home and the owners greeted us by name. Our room on the ground floor was a little small and too dark to read, but there is a cosy lounge upstairs with a TV and shelves of books, many about birdwatching and the natural resources of the area.
We were directed to Las Casitas restaurant for dinner, which was excellent. It's down a steep path about 200m from the Posada. Breakfast in the posada was served in the basement, and consisted of toast, jamón and the usual spreads, and a bowl of fruit. I was a little surprised to be served Sunny Delight instead of fresh orange juice, considering that there is hardly a shortage of fresh oranges in Andalucia at this time of year! But that was my only quibble really.
- MikeFSurrey (10/5): A real gem - A B&B rather than hotel in a lovely Peublo Blanca (White Village) near Ronda in Spain. Cosy rooms all with en-suite facilities. Excellent breakfast served by the lady of the house who made each and every guest feel totally at home. A charming guests sitting room with TV and even drinks available if required. Several restaurants/bars in the village so no need to go far of an evening.
Used by 4 guys on a walking holiday and it was the best accommodation we had the entire week.
