- Muhammad (9/5): -
- Robert (10/5): Hope to get back there soon. - Right on front of beach King size bed
- Suzanne (10/5): Lovely and friendly property - The location was excellent, staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was lovely too. I can't honestly fault anything
- Will (9/5): Lovely place with majestic seafront view. - Location perfect. We had a wonderful sea view.
Staff were great.
- Roy (8/5): Very satisfactory -
- Guest (8/5): The staff were superb and very helpful with luggage and a rollater for my partner. - I had to ask for eggs to be soft yolk and it was much better on the second morning. Better quality bread for the toast.
- William (7/5): - It was all ok but expensive for what it is. Very helpful and friendly staff Bit tired and dated but ok. Breakfast could be much better
- Ronald (7/5): - The hotel needs renovation outside and in Shabby appearance
No lift meant carrying bags 3-floors
- Monica (10/5): - Very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Fiona (7/5): Good location from the ferry . Not good if you have walking in the hotel - Location 42 steps to our room and we weee only on the second floor
- Linzie (8/5): -
- Donald (7/5): -
- Mrs F (4/5): Disappointing - Managers have done well with the soft furnishings to create a pleasant ambience. The rooms were a good size and the property smelt fresh. The shower water was a good temperature and fast flowing. Location, by the sea front, was excellent. The bed was comfortable. The fabric of the building is down at heel. We were in room 201. The sink was cracked. The bath had a spongy feel when I stood in it to get my shower as though at any moment it might crack (I'm 5'7" with a BMI of 23 - this was an issue with the bath not me). The bathroom door wouldn't close as the wood had rotted by the top hinge which had come away. The grouting was discoloured and the sealant around the bath was blackened with mould. The windows were dirty and streaked with bird droppings which detracted from the glorious view. £140 for this room and two breakfasts did not feel like a fair deal.
- Tait (7/5): - Thr brrakfast wss good location good stsff helpful and friendly Would have preferref different room as it was too warm and had no view
- Lewis (7/5): -
- edmund (8/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Joanne Alice (10/5): Bute Pride - Room 309 was comfy and spacious for what I needed to attend Bute pride .
Only negatives despite it been a pride weekend on the Isle of Bute was one of the staff who was in his 60s with glasses gave me an intense stare and look of disapproval during my stay at the Victoria hotel
Lager cans as rubbish left in a wardrobe in room 309 and not enough milk and sugar in the room to make a coffee .
I’d rate the hotel 6 out of 10 score wise as it was nice but dated in room 309 and I spotted a few damp patches and maintenance issues that needed fixed
Staff bar one individual were friendly and welcoming and breakfast was fabulous
- June (7/5): - Excellent location The breakfast was very poor, not up to it's usual standard
- Gwen (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (5/5): Needs an uplift, would not stay there again. - Good views. Central position. Staff were very helpful about charging and storing my ebike. Very small room with a cracked window and view of the fire escape.
Place in need of updating. Carpets worn, everything a bit past its best.
I was there 2 nights but my room was not serviced while I was there. I was out all day and arrived back to find it exactly as I left it.
The first night was extremely noisy with loud raucous drunken singing coming from outside my window _ I could not locate the exact source and the second night was quiet.
The advertised Bistro was closed on the evening I arrived.

- Cj (6/5): Great location good breakfast and staff in breakfast room very friendly, hotel is very dated and tired inside and out, c - Location and breakfast We were originally given a room which looked directly onto a roof ! Why not give the customer the best room available if the worst especially for their 1st stay !

- Lynne (8/5): Very good - Beautiful views, great to have both bath and shower, socket next to bed, good mirrors, tea/coffee/kettle, comfortable bed and bedding, breakfast nicely cooked at time of my choice, staff pleasant when available. Difficult to find staff at check-in, breakfast and check-out
- Lynne (3/5): We’ll not stat there again - The breakfast was ok, nothing special We had rain overnight and I came in through the ceiling, all we could hear was the patter of dripping and had to put down towels to soak up the water, as the reception isn’t covered through the night we couldn’t report it till the next morning or move to another room, hence our very low score
- David (3/5): Nice friendly staff , poor building fally apart -
- Timothy (10/5): - Fresh
- Miriam (8/5): Beautiful Bute - The location is excellent and we had a front facing room with beautiful views.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and we were shown round the function room and given an explanation of some local history.
We booked breakfast when we arrived and we could pick the time we wanted to eat. Breakfast was good and service was very good. Room was clean, beds were comfortable. Bathroom could do with updating. Shower worked but cold water tap on bath was jammed. Crack in basin and bathroom door did not shut.
- Philip (3/5): Poor -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -

- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (3/5): Poor -
- Paula (6/5): Staff lovely and food and service amazing. Hotel needs updating - The staff and breakfast where lovely. The hotel is old fashioned and could do with updating and a deep clean. Single glazed windows on a main road is noisy
- Rita (10/5): Very pleasant, excellent location, room and bathroom warm and comfortable.e. - Breakfast choice was very good. Room was very comfortable with a lovely view.
Courteous and friendly staff. It was very quiet, due to the season, and I felt a little anxious at the lack of other guests.
- Christian (8/5): Good option at the heart of Rothesay - Excellent breakfast. Room way better than anticipated with lovely view to the front. Corridor to room would benefit from more sympathetic lighting. You can see that there has been recent and possibly ongoing investment in this hotel. If that keeps up then this could become a great choice in Rothesay.
- Eric (10/5): All aspects of my stay was very good - Welcoming friendly staff. None
- David (10/5): Super value for money - Very good rooms with lots of space and comfortable beds. The breakfast was excellent!
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional -

- Campbell (10/5): Friendly staff great breakfast well worth the money and was spotless - Was excellent breakfast just what I needed after a night out onthe sauce
- Beverly (8/5): Very good - Nice hotel and food was good but could do with a nicer bar area to sit in at night and my husband was unable to get a coffee sitting in the lounge
- Victoria (7/5): Good - Very central, room was clean ,breakfast was good ,,staff were very helpful. Bed was a bit hard and the bathroom lighting was very dark,
- Linda (8/5): - Lovely old hotel. Only drawback is the many flights of stairs to get to the rooms and there was no elevator
- Hannah (7/5): I loved being in Rothesay and the view from the hotel was splendid. - Breakfast was good and all food service staff were friendly and helpful. I did not like the door being opened without a knock at 9.30 Sunday morning
- Lynn (8/5): Very good -
- Agnes (6/5): Hotel was ok needs a bit of TLC, overall stay was okay - Hotel was central, staff were pleasant breakfast was nice plenty of choice, we had the full Scottish.
We would stay again. Room was small with a very small double bed
- robin (6/5): - This hotel must have been a lovely lady in her heyday. The location is superb, the rooms are large, but very dated. People with mobility issues would have difficulty staying here.
- Jennifer (10/5): Great basic small hotel! - The staff was so helpful and the location could not have been better; close to ferry and everything else in town.
- Neil (9/5): exceeded expectations in all ways - the staff were excellent friendly approachable knowledgable and fun. the room was immaculate and the view exceptional. The food was great as well. a wonderful experience. Nothing
- Rose (6/5): - Bedroom was spacious and super king bed.Breakfast was really well cooked and staff were excellent.
Too many very difficult stairs with no lift.
5 nights and no cleaning done in the bedroom or bathroom, which I would have to ask to have it done.Ended cleaning it myself.
Felt it was not value for money at £100,per night room only.
Sorry can’t recommend.
- Eamon (9/5): Superb - Comfortable beds ,warm and inviting Nothing
- Paul (7/5): Good -
- John (8/5): comfortable pleasant stay. - Ate in restaurant and had very good meal. comfortable beds. Centrally located The climb up the stairs.
- Karen (10/5): - Great location rooms clean but out dated
- Davy (6/5): Pleasant - Tired and dated £140 a night too expensive
- Elizabeth (7/5): Good - Staff were lovely. Breakfast and coffee were great. Location fantastic for ferry. Room was a reasonable size and bathroom was huge. Owner was rude! Stairs were tough....dont stay if your fitness is not up to climbing a church bell tower! Room not ready at 16.10 owner had no clue sent us up and seemed to think having to stand outside for 10mins waiting was not an issue...no apology just ignored the rest of the visit! Alot of cobwebs around the room ceilings and bathroom! A bit antiquated for the price being charged. Bed was brick hard...not my personal preference I kept stubbing my toe on a door stopper that had been fitted then no longer needed (because the bed was now stopping the door) but not removed. I had the space of a bedside cabinet to walk beside the bed and it was in the middle of this toward the end of the bed!
