René (8/5): Sollte ich nochmals eine Motorradtour nach Castellane machen würde ich wieder hier buchen. - Das Frühstück hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt. Es wurde mir speziell auf den Tisch serviert. Auch Eierspeise könte mann haben. Ich konnte mein Motorrad direkt vor meinen Zimmereingang stellen. Super Parkplatz. Leider hatte ich auf dem Zimmer kein Mineralwasser zum trinken. Das Zimmer war sehr ruhig. Das Bett war frisch und die Matraze in meinem Sinne.

Les lits sont confortables, les espaces communs agréables, et, de manière générale, on sent que l’hygiène et la propreté sont des valeurs essentielles pour l’hôte. Mais ce qui m’a le plus marqué, c’est la gentillesse et la bienveillance de Salima, l’hôte du gîte. Dès mon arrivée, elle m’a accueilli avec un sourire sincère et une attention particulière, me mettant immédiatement à l’aise. Tout au long de mon séjour, elle s’est souciée de mon confort, s’assurant régulièrement que je ne manquais de rien. Ses petites attentions quotidiennes, sa disponibilité constante et sa capacité à trouver des solutions à chaque demande ont véritablement fait la différence. PS : Ne manquez pas le petit déjeuner à la française (sucré), un vrai régal !

Mike (10/5): Great and recommendable! - Very kind and helpful owners. Rooms are big and you have many opportunities to Store your clothes and personal things. The nice Garden can get used too. It also has a Barbecue Place. Breakfast was surprisingly good.

Almas (10/5): Perseids meteor shower - The host was very friendly and she allowed us to check in earlier as the room was ready and she was on site. We went to Castellane for 1 night from Nice to stargaze the perseids meteor shower and we had an incredible experience. It was also accessible to contemplate from the backyard of L'Oustaou hostel, there are deckchairs available.
Gabriel (8/5): Nice hostel in a cute mountain town with lovely staff - Lovely place. Nice enough beds. Large dining area with lovely huge tables. I went for the double bed in the 3 bed room, so that I could have privacy .. but it was early enough that I shared the whole space with very few people, so it was nice to have a bit more space to myself. Salima was such a gracious host! She was very helpful and cheerful and always trying to help out! WiFi didn't reach to my room which was a bummer, but that just meant I hung out in the common area. I think I'm early for the season, so there were very few other people. No locks or safes to keep valuables safe.

Billy (9/5): Lovely and close! - Lovely property, very clean and very close to the town centre. They only let you pay in cash for the booking, so I hadn’t planned on needing to go back to the cash point whilst I was there.
Andras (7/5): Good - The apartment is close to the center of a cozy small village. It is optimal for short staying, but the room would be a bit narrow for a longer stay. Anyway it was well equipped, and everything is fit for the description and the photos. The host is very kind, but communication was a bit difficult since he does not speak English, and I don't speak French. Credit card use is not possible in the site.
Kilpatrick (8/5): Castellane is a sports oriented town. L'Oustaou is an off-season facility. - L'oustaou is well located near centre of Castellane beside the river. Property is designed for groups and is kept clean and tidy. Staff are very helpful. Wifi works. Able to park my cycle indoors overnight. Some provision could be made for independent travellers'. Say a kettle, some fridge space?
Philip (7/5): Good - Castellane is a very nice village. Accommodation was clean and close to the centre if a bit basic, but then again it was inexpensive, so good value for money. Nothing.
Jiipee (6/5): It is next to village very nice, value for money so and so. - Excellent distance to the village. Warm shower. Staff should be at hostel when informed 17.30-20.30. NOT like now, arrived after phone call 18,25. Only a bed sheet & pillow. And plain thin blanket, no sheet, need to find from the closet. Question; when washed last time? No towel. The French breakfast, was French for sure, 6€ about that a bit too much.
Nicole (6/5): The room was fine for 1 night - We were able to park right in front of our room and it was very close proximity to the town When we got there, there was nobody around. A van with 2 gentlemen was also waiting and they said they had been waiting for about 1/2 hour. About 5 minutes later, 3 people came out from a door. They didn't apologize and didn't seem to be aware we were coming. The woman went inside and checked and told us we were ok to stay; however we had to pay cash because the season being over, they had returned the credit card. If we didn't have cash she said, we could go in town for an ATM. The man said he needed to put towels in the room and turn on the heat. The room was very basic but fine for just one night. It took at least 2 hours for the room to warm up to a comfortable temperature and it was about 42 degres F outside. The bathroom towels had seen better days and were not very soft.
