• Carol (10/5): - Room was perfect for me ,big bed ,big walk in shower big bay window with perfect view of pier and Rothesay bay.a variety of cereal ,yoghurt ,juice ,bread etc provided in room and own facilities ,kettle toaster fridge and microwave what more could i need . I didnt like that i had only booked for 3 nights ,will make it a longer stay next time .
• Selwyn (10/5): A very memorable and enjoyable 3 day stay at the Boathouse. - Lovely suite in a lovely location on the Waterfront over looking Rothesay Harbour. Suite was spacious and very comfortable in immaculate order. Breakfast was provided which when supplemented by your own favourites purchased at local shops - was ideal. A minor suggestion - we read in bed last thing and whilst the bedside lights fit into the decor, they are not practical for a couple of old foggies reading books with small print. A bedside light with an extension arm would be more practical.

Very relaxing place to stay not far from the town. Will be recommending to our friends. We really had no complaints. We stayed for three nights over New Year. It suited us well and provided the peace and quiet we were looking for.

• Julie (10/5): Super 5 * suites and more - The suites are indeed super. Lovely large rooms with views of the sailing boats, ferries and wonderful countryside beyond. Everything was spotless and so comfortable. Decorated and finished to a high standard. Lovely welcome pack of breakfast essentials including fresh milk, juice, jams and marmalade, bread. Lovely addition as a self catering provider. Sarah and her team take a great deal of pride in making sure you are welcome and comfortable. We will definitely be staying here again. Literally nothing to not like 👍

• Mike (8/5): Great view at Rothesay - The superb view of the bay from the lounge window (suite 4). The easy walk along the promenade to the centre of Rothesay. Clean and nicely decorated. Attentive but not intrusive owner (Sara). Not always easy to get a parking spot on the street in front of the accommodation.

• Roslyn (10/5): RELAXTION - Location, location, location, right on the water front overlooking the harbour with views of distant islands. An easy walk from the CalMac ferry terminal, hop on hop off bus, and well stocked small supermarket. Starter breakfast supplies were very handy. Could have sat looking at the view forever. The bathroom fan was not strong enough to remove moisture from the room after showering, and the lighting was poor. Nowhere to plug a hair dryer in near a mirror.

• Hilary (10/5): Great experience of Isle of Bute - Everything lived up to the description advertised. It was an exceptional week of very sunny weather. Nights were cool, and Sara was generous over the heating, as we could regulate the radiators ourselves. Suite 2 is very spacious, as is the shower room. Nothing. What we would have liked though are a jug for the milk, kitchen towel and clingfilm. Their absence did not spoil our stay, but would have been useful.

Only thing I would say is the tv in the room could use a little upgrade as we couldn’t get that to work when we tried to use our fire stick to put a movie on for our child at bedtime. • Selvakumar (10/5): Excellent Stay - Such an inclusive, empathetic host - Recommended for wheelchair users - I recently visited Rothesay for a business meeting at Mount Stuart. As a wheelchair user, I had booked a wheelchair-accessible room in Boat House Super Suites, and I was impressed with how smoothly everything was handled—the ramp was promptly ready upon my arrival. The accommodation offered a breath-taking view, perfectly overlooking the ferry as it departed and arrived from Rothesay to Wemyss Bay. The room was spotless and well-maintained, providing a very comfortable stay. The host family was absolutely fantastic—warm, attentive, and accommodating. Breakfast was a treat, with a variety of options including cereals, milk or yogurt, and fresh bread. Everything was thoughtfully kept to cater to different preferences. The location was another highlight. Rothesay’s centre, the cinema, and the ferry terminal were all within easy walking (or wheeling) distance, making it very convenient to get around. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and wouldn’t hesitate to return to Rothesay and stay at this wonderful accommodation again. Highly recommended!

• Neil (10/5): The Best on Bute! - Very comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean. Fantastic shower and television! A wonderful stay. Can't say there was anything I disliked - sometimes the TV signal disappeared, but that was more due to the weather conditions than anything else.

Outside was well presented and inviting, and on opening the door to the suite I was delighted; it was bright, fresh and airy and the view from the window was lovely. Boathouse is a short walk from the ferry terminal and town centre. Nothing to dislike.

• Merinda (10/5): How lucky was I to be given the front room with a view over the harbour! - Wow how lucky was I to be given the front room in the Boat House Super Suites, facing out across the harbour to watch all the comings and goings of the ferries. Perfect location with free parking on the street. The shops, restaurants, cafes, hotels, and Castle and churches are only a two minute walk away. To the ferry is a one minute drive. The room is luxurious. In the little kitchen facility I loved the way the breakfast was ready there for me every day. I could have stayed longer and spent more time dreaming out the window. Very comfortable.
