- 883jackies (10/5): Special hotel in a very special little town - We spent a week in late September in the gorgeous town of Pizzo and our experience at Piccolo Grand Hotel and discovering this wonderful and unspoilt village could not have been better. Having travelled Italy pretty extensively but never been to Calabria we weren't sure where to go but Piccolo Grand drew us to Pizzo. It's a very beautiful hotel and impeccably run with the most charming and efficient staff. Kala and Manisha provide wonderful breakfasts on the terrace, which has spectacular wrap round views, and Vincenza, Sandra, Eulani, Domenico and all the staff were so approachable, helpful and simply lovely people. We stayed in a Junior Suite (Dependence Mare) which was superbly comfortable, spacious and with 3 balconies (2 big enough to sit on) with beautiful views out to sea. We loved this hotel, loved Pizzo with it's fabulous restaurants, unbelievable tartufo and unique atmosphere. Looking forward to our return.

Nestled in the charming old town of Pizzo, this boutique hotel perfectly blends modern comfort with authentic Italian character. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. They were warm, helpful, and always ready with great local recommendations — whether it was where to find the best tartufo gelato (hint: it’s nearby!) or the most scenic spots to watch the sunset. The room was stylish, spotless, and thoughtfully designed with high-end touches — especially the rain shower and incredibly comfortable bed. We had a beautiful balcony with a small view of the sea. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a daily highlight. Fresh fruit, pastries, eggs and cappuccinos with a view of the Calabrian coast — it’s the kind of morning that makes you want to stay forever. The location is perfect for exploring. Just a few steps from the main piazza, restaurants, cafes, and the historic castle, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and private. - TCC33 (10/5): Paradise in Pizzo - We loved our stay at the Piccolo Grand Hotel. The people were friendly and so helpful. The bright, cheerful coloring of the hotel puts a smile on your face. The location is perfect. The breakfast on the roof was the best. We didn't get a chance to use the beach club but will next time. We can't wait to stay at the Piccolo on our next visit to Italy.

Ich durfte nicht auf das Zimmer meines Vaters, da anscheinend keine Besucher die nicht im Hotel gebucht haben die Zimmer betreten dürfen. Da mein Vater kein Italienisch kann und 79 Jahre alt ist dachte ich mir es sei kein Problem wenn ich ihm mit seinem Gepäck helfe. Daraufhin hat die einte Dame „Concierge“ am Empfang ziemlich überreagiert. Schade, hätte für den bezahlten Preis mehr erwartet.

- Marcantonio (10/5): Piccolo Grand... definitely more Grand than piccolo - This was, by far, the best kept boutique hotel we have been to. Spotless inside and out. The sraff are extremely kind and accomodating. We intend to make return trips here. Though Pizzo is a smaller town compared to its neighbour Tropea and others, its charm far exceeds its size. The restaurants in the piazza are like cousins that live on the same street, calling at eachother across the square and sending patrons from one spot to the next showing such a heartwarming sense of community. Yes, the tartuffi are outstanding, from artisnal gelato to the fresh nuts and coatings they use. The location is quite central to other popular tourist destinations requiring short drives or train rides to those spots without the hefty price tags or overcrowded piazzas. Overall the wirst part of the trip was having to leave. It began to feel like home very fast thanks to the staff at the hotel and in the piazza. Highly recomended. Having to leave. Carpet in the bedroom ( i just dont like carpet in general)

Non certamente panoramico, ma prevale la bellezza dei tetti di pizzo... Mi piace per la freschezza dei colori e per l'impronta personale che i gestori hanno dato. Uscire dall'ordinarietà non è scontato. Va benissimo così. Se si sceglie è perché si preferisce con le sue caratteristiche.

I loved the shuttle to Piccolo BBB beach club. Delicious food at the beach club. My junior suite was perfect. Small balcony, lots of sunlight. Very quiet when sleeping and the windows shut. Air-conditioning was divine. Rooftop Breakfast on point.

Easy walk to the main square with many restaurants, shopping and a wonderful view of the sunset over the water. A big plus for me was the elevator I have mobility issues and it was a lifesaver. Breakfast on the roof top terrace with a sweeping view of the gulf of SantEufamia was a wonderful way to start the day. You have to park in a lot outside the city center and take a “taxi” golf cart to the hotel.

I am not sure if this was due to a communication barrier but she was very dismissive and unhelpful. We were told check in was from 3pm although our Expedia booking confirmation said 2pm. Either way a little information on getting to the beach club or when our room would be ready would be helpful and avoided a frustrating conversation. After returning to the hotel we were told the shuttle to the beach club was unavailable, although they made an exception and did take us there, we were left to find our own way back after a phone call the same member of staff refused to bring us back, thank goodness for Uber. We were only there for one night, rather than the two emails I received beforehand regarding additional charges, I would have appreciated info on booking shuttles and using the beach club. The website indicated this would be easily available. The sun terrace did not seem available to us, again no information, you may have to have a suite to get access to this. The roof terrace closed at 7pm so our plans to relax with a drink did not happen. The air con in our room would not go below 21 so left us with an uncomfortable & restless night. In hindsight we wished we had given this hotel a miss.

- jobA5214IR (10/5): Absolutely wonderful stay - This place was quite frankly amazing. Our room (Palazzo Suite) was incredible, with stunning views. I could happily have moved in. The staff really went the extra mile - organising shuttles to the beach and station and really happy to chat and make suggestions about the local area. Lovely breakfast with a wonderful sea view , and eggs cooked to order every morning and a nice sweet and savoury selection. Tea, coffee, fresh orange juice brought to the table. Our bed was vast and so comfortable. Entire suite had lovely attentions to detail. Loved the Nespresso machine and the options for filtered water. Main piazza is about 3 mins flat walking. I loved Pizzo and can’t wait to go back. Some great restaurants and wonderful sunsets.
- Seaside62331474909 (10/5): OMG stay in Pizzo Italy - Rated the stay Excellent because there was not a choice for OMG. Hotel was spotless, the room was beyond comfortable, and the staff was amazing. Perfect location with an unbelievable view on the breakfast terrace. Stayed with a bicycle tour group hosted by Tourissimo. Pizzo is a great place to visit. The beach was pleasant and the hotel had beach umbrellas to borrow.

- Nicholas (10/5): I stayed at Piccolo Grand Hotel 10 years ago and was pleased to see it even better when I returned. - Piccolo Grand Hotel is one of my favorite hotels anywhere I have traveled. It's exceptionally well run and beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. I hope to stay again some day. I have no complaints about this hotel, staff or service.
- aliejolly12 (10/5): lovely hotel - We only spent one night here after our travel from the US, but it was fabulous. The staff were lovely and helpful. Our bags were lost in transit and they walked us into town to show the best shop to pick up a few clothing items as well as recommended which restaurant would have the best pizza for the night. Domenico also transported us to the train station the next day in their super cool golf cart!

The shuttle picked me up and the train station and took me to my beach apartment when it was time for me to move there. Great service and absolutely spotless rooms- modern and well equipped. If going through booking.com don’t be misled by the photos. Read info on the hotel site as the beach club is run separately and is a mile away. Facilities there have to be paid for. Unless you have a suite booked. The balcony is big enough to stand on, but not sit on. There is a roof terrace with sun beds. Location very good, in the centre of town.

The breakfast on the rooftop terrace was so delicious and we looked forward to the spread every morning. The views from our room looking out into the sea (and the rooftop terrace!) were a dream. The AC in the room worked well and was such a relief to have at the end of each day. The staff are all so kind and attentive and made the stay so enjoyable. We loved taking the hotel’s Tuk Tuk shuttle to and from the beach club!! Would absolutely recommend this hotel if you’re going to Pizzo!

Clean, chic, and located overlooking the sea! Breakfast on the terrace every morning! Just magical! Everything is walkable! The piazza is literally around the corner! I can’t wait to go back some day! The staff also made special breakfast for my son with severe allergies. I am so grateful for that. I cant think of anything negative to say. Five star boutique hotel!
- annettep780 (10/5): Fantastic hotel - The Piccolo Grand Hotel is in an excellent location for staying in Pizzo. We stayed in a sea view room and it was tastefully decorated, spacious and clean. The staff were also very friendly and extremely helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast served on the roof terrace overlooking the sea was excellent, it provided a good selection of hot and cold food items including lovely Italian pastries. The coffee was also really good and freshly made. Thank you to all staff for providing us with a very pleasant stay.

They offer their support for parking your car on a Sunday when Pizzo is the place to be for the tourists in and out of Italy. The room we stayed was very clean, well designed, offered modern technology, and is very spacious. A joy to relax and see the scenery of Pizzo from the balcony.

For example, we were driven down to Piccolo BBB for lunch, and left there, though the restaurant was full for lunch; we were only told, on day we were leaving, about the lovely rooftop bar with loungers on roof of next building; etc etc. etc. etc. A shame, as the hotel is in great location, beautifully designed and maintained, and has wonderful staff (who just need some direction.)

Attention to detail and to serving any needs was beyond any expectations in our 4 week travels through Southern Italy. Breakfast on the terrace was delicious with an amazing view of the sea and coastline. We will definitely be back!!! They even attend to watering their plants which in Southern Italy is a rarity.

- Natalia (8/5): - Great hotel in an amazing location - very central and convenient. Breathtaking views from the terrace and homemade tasty breakfast. I particularly liked my room which was tastefully decorated and had 2 terraces with amazing view! I would have given this property top rating, if the lady at the reception wouldn’t have been so rude and arrogant. First of all, they give you option to choose a bed, and I chose Queen bed (vs two separate beds - was travelling alone). On the arrival I got two beds and a comment that all beds in the hotel are like this. Ok, fine, but when why would you ask your guest to choose? Then, I checked out 30’ later than the deadline: had an important call for work I couldn’t cut short). At 11:02 the reception started calling me and in a very rude and arrogant way telling me to get out of the room immediately. This is not a 4 star hotel service, I’m sorry. You pay quite a lot of money for 4 stars (with no parking) to be treated like that. Never had such a bad check-out experience. Plus, as I said, they didn’t give me the room I booked and the bed I asked for, so 30’ checkout delay could have been treated in a better way. I was even ready to pay an extra fee for late check-out if asked (was my bad indeed), but was never offered. Just arrogant tone. Apart from that - really amazing hotel and facilities. Really everything was great! It’s a shame people on reception don’t know what 4 star hotel service should look like 😬

They upgraded us to on arrival because I showed up with extra guests. The staff were so friendly and hospitable, I’ve never had that experience before. I’m coming from overseas and not knowing much English, everything was really smooth, and they were very welcoming. I will return as soon as I’m back in Pizzo ❤️❤️❤️

There was a water bottle in the mini bar which was refilled free of charge if you asked. Furthermore, I have to mention that the breakfast on the terrace of the hotel was a nice start to the day. The hotel is in a beautiful, quiet location and is still very close to the nightlife.

- PeteS596 (10/5): Best in pizzo - If you want an unbelievable stay near the center of town this is it. We had two rooms and both were perfect. The owners treat the staff and hotel with exceptional care and in turn the staff treats the hotel and guests as family. Sandra, Kala ,her daughter, vincinso. Calabrese girl, and others I can't remember your names thank you. If I were to build a small hotel or small b&b in the US, I would copy this exactly. Everything is done with meaning and a purpose absolutely wonderful. My wife and I travel the world extensively and our hilton diamond members. But we were just blown away by all the detail in this hotel and the exceptional service from the employees. We will be back. We arrived as guests and are departing after 7nights as friends Wifi very strong hot water very hot. Did not use ac as it was cool just opened windows. One caution for this area is parking it is very limited as in most of pizzo. If your renting a car in any hotel in this area I would call and confirm parking. We used drivers, taxis, and tu tus to get around the hotel called for us. great stay WE WIIL BE BACK!!

All the staff was very helpful and the transport in the golf cart from the car park was perfect. If you don’t know parking in the white is free and the blue you must pay in the pay box
