Guest Reviews
- Richard (5/5): -
- Richard (1/5): - It was rustic Poorly kept shower house and wagons
- Herbert (1/5): Would NOT recomment to anyone!!!! - nothing very filthy, dirty stained bed sheets, not even pillow cases, unorganized and very unfriendly, staff untrained/no clue what they are supposed to do, hidden extra charges everywhere. I felt like a burden rather than a welcoming guest.
- clement (10/5): A beautiful site - A beautiful site and overlook like in movies.
- Robin (7/5): Good - Not used to camping
- Megan (6/5): - We slept pretty well inside the teepee. The women’s bathroom was not in great condition. One of the showers was out of order and there was no toilet paper. There was a lot of people staying there that night so it was a long line to use the restroom that morning.
- Josiah (10/5): -
- Esther (10/5): - Staying in a teepee near Grand Teton was one of the most memorable parts of our trip! The location was stunning—nestled in nature with breathtaking views of the Teton range, especially at sunrise and sunset.
The teepee itself was surprisingly comfortable and well-equipped. Ours had simple mattresses only — bring your own bedding and pillows! Think camping tent without having to pitch a tent . Cool experience. (
The site had shared bathrooms and showers. It’s definitely more of a “glamping” experience—don’t expect full luxury, but it’s perfect for nature lovers who want something different from a hotel or tent camping.
Location-wise, it was only a short drive to the park entrance and super convenient
It was located on a horse ranch ! Horses were beautiful !
Pros:
• Incredible mountain views
• Peaceful and quiet atmosphere
• Unique and fun alternative to traditional lodging
• Friendly hosts
• Close to Grand Teton National Park
Cons:
• Can get cold at night (bring layers!)
• Limited privacy depending on site layout
• Shared bathroom may not be for everyone… showers were not luxury that’s for sure
Café had great food
Overall, I’d highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to immerse themselves in the outdoors without giving up basic comforts. Would absolutely stay again!
- Arletha (9/5): Loved the experience! Don’t expect motel more like camping. - The covered wagons were so neat! It was a great experience and vibe. Maybe a better shower area would be nice.
- Rommel (8/5): Absolutely amazing for a nature lover like us. - It’s unforgettable experience for us.We had so much fun in the ranch especially in our teepee. It’s kinda far.but it’s ok
- Roman (10/5): -
- Janene (7/5): Mosquitos and showers - The view. Warm showers I was never offered a duffle bag of bedding and the inner lining of the teepee was missing
- Wendy (5/5): Definitely some plusses but also a few minuses. - The scenery was breathtaking. The location of the ranch was superb. We were in Covered Wagon #14. And our view was of the Bath House :-( (This was the same for those in Covered Wagons 11, 12 and 13). For the amount of money we paid, I'm surprised they didn't give us a discount, or at least tell us about the "obstructed view."
The Bath House (female side) had three stalls and three showers (but only two were working). You'd think that at the height of the summer season, they'd make it a priority to have all three showers in working order.
- Andrew (1/5): - charged wrong, 2 phone calls and manager never called me back. called a 3rd time and manager said what staff told me was wrong and hung up on me, was also charged $2.56 on my card and they never answered
- Christina (1/5): - The view The cleanliness and the value of the price; the value is not up to standard. Everything was so filthy from the furnitures to the bathtub and toilet.
- MIGUEL ANGEL (6/5): Bonito lugar.
- Jennifer (10/5): So fun! - My kids and I were able to book a night in a covered wagon! It was so much fun, what a neat experience . The staff was very nice and helpful. The scenery is beautiful. We ate breakfast at the lodge before leaving and it was delicious! We didn’t have the opportunities on this trip to do any of the activities but there is a lot of options and they all look fun as well.
- Samantha (1/5): See above - The view Our stay at Buffalo Valley Ranch was underwhelming, mostly due to poor customer service and a lack of organization. Check-in was frustratingly slow with only one woman working while her son sat behind her vaping and scrolling on his phone—not exactly a professional first impression.
The on-site cafe was both overpriced and poorly managed. We paid $45 for three kids meals, and they added auto-gratuity on top. Ordering food required going to the bar, which was manned by a single overwhelmed person, with only one person in the kitchen as well. The corn dogs for one of our kids came out cold. To top it off, they charge $3 just for a cup of water—definitely bring your own.
We stayed in the tepees, which were clean and worked for what we needed, but $99 a night felt steep for what you actually get. The bath house was moderately clean at best; the showers became pretty gross quickly and didn’t feel like a place you’d want to use.
The biggest issue here is the lack of customer service and basic hospitality know-how. The only saving grace of this place is the beautiful view—but unfortunately, that alone doesn’t make up for the rest of the experience.
- Janet (3/5): Needs lots of maintenance! - Dirty run down bathrooms, broken bed in Teepee.
- Francine (3/5): - Location was within 5 minutes of moran junction. The view of the horse pasture and Grand Teton was very pretty. Parking was very uncomfortable, unmarked on grass and in a ditch. Women's bathroom had a hole in the floor and shower leaked all over the bathroom, leaving water everywhere. Ceiling tiles in bathroom were broken and insulation was exposed. None of the outlets worked in the women's bathroom. Tipi beds were very worn out and there was a dirty towel and blankets in the room before we arrived. The straps to hold the tipi door flap closed we're ripped and we couldn't close the door all of the way.
- Corinne (3/5): - The views High price vs no basic comfort., broken showers, high prices at the cafe
- Kailey (10/5): This place is awesome! Great staff, beautiful view! -
- Ross (2/5): Horrible place, do not stay there. - The views and location were great The blankets were extremely soiled, the heater barely put out any heat, the bathrooms were disgusting and the staff would not correct anything.
- Camille (2/5): -
- Karthik (1/5): -
- Doug (1/5): Enough said! -
- Harisankar (6/5): -
- Delgado (10/5): Perfect stay and location to recharge, with love from California<3 - The views were amazing and the location was perfect! Nothing
- David (10/5): -
- Jacob (6/5): Kids had a good time. Beautiful views, bring all bedding needed unless you don’t mind using dirty bedding. - Beautiful view. Great location to visit surrounding parks. Wagon was dirtier than expected. I realize sleeping in a wagon not much should be expected, but I would have thought they would have been swept at least. Put a bag on the floor and picked it up to find it was covered in dirt. Blankets provided were pretty rough in terms of cleanliness.
- JOLENE (8/5): - I read the other reviews of this ranch and I honestly disagree with the bad reviews. It's a working RANCH! What do people expect? I loved the covered wagon and the bed was very comfortable. It was so cool to hear the horses nicker and neigh. There were real working cowboys and they were so nice! The breakfast was delicious and prices were comprable to eating out in other vacation areas. The coffee was soooo good! And Tom, the cat, was a pleasant guest with us. The views were spectacular! I will defi itely be back!
- Anja (6/5): Good but not great! - I really liked the ranch, the view and the vibes! The food was also delicious! Staff was very nice! I didnt like how one bed was kinda broken in our Teepee, the other one also not functional so one of us slept with a slope. Also the heat temperature in the bathrooms was CRAZY HOT and waaaaayyyy toooo much! It was too much of a difference with the outside weather so when u went on a toilet you were sweaty just by sitting there.
- Mark (2/5): - The bathhouse was a mess, with the men's and women's in the same budling and no locking door between them. It did not feel safe for the women. The guest Tipi's had been taken down for the winter and were thrown about in the bathhouse. The restaurant was full of flies, a cat and a dog. The cows outside gave a western nuance, however they were able to access the area the conestoga wagons were located. They spread feces on the walking path and rubbed up against the wagon we were sleeping in around 2:00 am. The view of the mountains was amazing but the facility itself needs some serious attention.
- Grecia (3/5): - We stayed there for 2 night's and the Idea of the place is great but... if you're planning to arrive after 9pm there's nobody to assist you. We reserved 3 of the wagons and 3 of them were dirty with trash on the floor and blanquets weren't clean also for the price that is no cheapat all you need to do your own bed and pillows are old and not fluffy at all. Besides that at the coffee shop that is from the same bussines the service is terrible. Bathroom is outside but is dirty and the property use that space as a garage with mattresses in the middle of the aisle
- Allan (2/5): - Bathrooms were dirty and cluttered the wagon room was in bad repair and service not a good standard
- Savana (6/5): - We stayed in a wagon which was fun but quite cold even with the heater on. The communal bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner, but the customer service there was excellent.
- Mila (1/5): We did not stay in the facility. The wagon was so filty, the worst restrooms i ever see. - Nothing. It smells bad. Horse dung near the wagon we were assigned The sanitation
- Nova (6/5): - Liked the staff, the horses.and the view. There were animal droppings on the walking area to the wagons. The big bed was too low in the wagon.
The blankets were not warm. The zipper did not work on the door flap. The women's restroom was filthy and had no toilet tissue. One of the toilets was stopped up.
The cafe had flies landing on the tables. We did not stay and eat. The prices were very high.
- Weidong (3/5): My city friends are not used to the rustic style of lodging, a lesson learned - The location is very scenic Has to work on muddy ground to use toilet and bathroom which are not very clean. The heaters in the tent did not work and my friends caught cold and we forfeit a second night stay.
- Paola (6/5): - this was definitely an adventure! we stayed at a wagon and the view was awesome. by far the best part of our stay. if you come here, think of it as camping but you don't have to put up the tent. be prepared with warm bedding and clothes for those cold nights. and there are camping sites with cleaner bathrooms that have toilet paper. we don't regret staying here but I don't know if we'll be back 😅
- Jay (2/5): - We ate dinner on arrival the the burgers were burned to hockey puc perfection the fries were cold meal was 2x the the price a good meal and then they automatically added 20% tip even though it was mostly self service. The room had a small electric heater that barely put out any heat. It was 27 degrees in morning out side and the room was not much warmer. The bath house was also very cold. They only had one blanket per bed.
- albert (10/5): - It might not be for everyone, but I truly loved it. I stayed in a covered wagon, and early in the morning I heard the workers feeding the horses — it brought back memories of childhood, waking up to the quiet voices of my mother and grandmother talking over coffee at the kitchen table. That peaceful, simple start to the day felt so familiar and comforting. The bathroom wasn’t exactly close by, which might be a dealbreaker for some, but for me, the whole experience was totally worth it.
- Corbin (10/5): - Nice
- Elena (2/5): - The bathrooms were disgusting and full of mattresses as a storage. There was hardly any room to even go to the toilet. At the restaurant most of the things on the menu were not available. We asked for a glass for a beer we bought and they said they did not have any glasses! We slept in a wagon which was freezing. Terrible experience, at least in this time of end of summer.
- Kerry (2/5): - I was put in an uncomfortable situation. I had a terrible experience
- Andrew (10/5): - Close to nature. Views of Tetons. Available.
- Helen (6/5): - If you're looking for "Glamping" this is not the place! Its very rustic/ basic! There are no nice touches! The wagons are cute on the outside but very close together, not cleaned well, you have to make your own bed, sheets are greyish and poor quality, the blankets inadequate. The heater provided is noisy, the zippers are broken to the door and the notice says they will charge you for broken zippers but when we asked reception they said, "oh, all the zippers are broken"!
Its a beautiful location, has amazing potential but the accommodations fall short, it feels like they threw the place together and dont have a clear objective of what kind of place they want it to be!
The activities are great, we did the Horse back riding and our guide Ava was great and made our ride thoroughly enjoyable!
The restaurant has potential also but when we walked in no one acknowledged us or explained anything, the drinks were very limited, the food was ok, the staff were also eating there and all chatting and obviously had to be jack of all trades. The guy in the kitchen, came to fix our heater late at night and was wrangling the horses early in the morning
- Kathryn (9/5): -
- David (8/5): - Great workers. Nice guests. Option to eat. Food expensive, but understandable since we were far from towns. Options for rafting and horse backing.
- Trevor (9/5): -
Humide+++
- Marcia (6/5): - The staff was very helpful ! There was an issue with our original booking and they made it right with an actual upgrade ( we had to pay more ) but they gave us a great discount .The place could be so much more .We enjoyed the Western theme but wish it could’ve been more modern ie:the WiFi was impossible we always had to go closer to the office to get it which made it hard to plan your day the night before .
- Paul (10/5): - I would like the option of having an outlet in the Teepee's. I use a CPAP/sleep machine and there wasn't power available. Other than that, it was a great experience. We will definitely be back! Want to try a Conestoga Wagon Next time.
- Phillip (6/5): - Not what was expected.
- Lon (4/5): - Fun but no heat. Neither gas or electric heaters worked.
- Sheila (8/5): - Was a wonderful experience
- Dustin (6/5): - The tipi is what you pay for. Rental rent on gravel. “Cots” were broken and in pieces. Get a camp site.
- Steven (8/5): - Went to Grand Teton and Yellowstone Got a little cold at night
- Benoit (3/5): - Le cadre!
- Jennifer (10/5): - Such a unique stay, we were upgraded from the teepee to the covered wagon for electricity, it also had a heater but we didn’t need - it got chilly but the blankets were warm enough. Had a good dinner with drinks at the onsite restaurant, very convenient! We were up and going too early to grab coffee.
- Monti (8/5): - We stayed in the covered wagons which was a very unique experience. The location is beautiful and watching the ranch hands bring the horses to and from their evening pasture was a great experience. However, be ready to bring your own bedding or pay extra to rent bedding. The shower/bathroom amenities could do with some improvements. Either eat before you arrive or be prepared to pay a 20% gratitude for everything ordered at the cafe, even though you are ordering from counter and not at your table. There is nothing notifying you of this charge until you get your bill.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - So fun and great staff!
- Andreas Marius (6/5): -
- Erik (8/5): - The location and view were great! Sleeping in the wagons was fun. Restaurant was good and fair priced.
- Taylor (1/5): The staff are incredibly unfriendly - the woman working in the cafe was so rude. The cafe is ridiculously expensive and -
- Joseph (5/5): -
- LuAnn (8/5): - We stayed in a wagon. One step up from camping. Teepees were totally rough camping. Would recommend the wagons instead if you want to camp.
- Jean-Baptiste (1/5): Arnaque ! N'y allez pas ! - Arnaque ! A fuir !
- Semberova (3/5): - Staying in the teepee tent. Blankets and bedding provided for the whole tent (4 people) for free, clean
Cots not comfortable, gravel on the ground
Lavatory dirty, broken, unkept but with toilet paper, hot water, soap and paper towels
No electricity (the place is clear about that), wifi only at the cafe place next the reception At least a bit of a year round maintenance would be good
- chris (8/5): - The property is a horse ranch, so its dusty and noisy, which we had anticipated. The restaurant on site is very basic, not great and expensive.
- Vibhav Pratap (2/5): - The heaters were not working. The staff was not at all supportive. And the sheets and towels were used and dirty
- Behre (7/5): - Tolle Lage mit wahnsinnigem Blick. Es war sehr kalt und unbequem
- Djoudar (7/5): -
- Volker (1/5): What a nightmare overprizef disgusting Common ušed sanitary facilities - Nothing We booked a Wagon which was our fault. Bedsheets Provider were old and dirthy. Heatings in Wagon didn‘t work properly. Worst thing and normaly a case for some inspection by any Federal Office are the Common used sanitare facilties. Disgusting unbelievable to describe. I will contact booking that this provider should be kicked out from booking com at least for everything were you have to use these Common sanitary facilities
- Juan (1/5): Terrible place . Do not come - I would like a refund for this. The web site doesn't show pictures of the tipi. It only say four twin beds which is literally plastic mattress almost to the floor. Inside the tipi you can see light at bottom of it, right then I knew it was going to be cold. The front "door of the tipi didn't seal either and didn't feel secure, temp at night was 35° around 1am my wife and I had to move inside our car to stay warm. They also charge us $30 for shower towels that we didn't even get to use. Definitely not coming back ever and will definitely do not recommend this place.
- Eddie (10/5): - It was in interesting experience. I had never slept in a teepee before. However, it wasn't much different from sleeping in a tent. Be sure to bring your sleeping bags and pillows. The scenery is beautiful!
- Svitlana (8/5): - It’s good for two nights. Staff is friendly. Wagon is better than tepee.
- Jan (8/5): Great stay! - Views and vibe!
- Andy (8/5): - Great location, views and teepee was great. Cots were not very comfortable.
- Werner (7/5): We had the Tipi, so we knew what we get -
- shrestha (1/5): Bad experience overall. Staff didn't seem friendly as well. - Nothing I went to buffalo valley ranch with lots of excitement, thinking it would be a nice outdoor experience. When I reached there the tipi wasnot as shown in the pictures. The pictures was from the the different wagons. Tipi had overgrown grasses and 4 mattress. It didn't have any space for our things. I didn't feel safe enough to stay there weather wise and safety wise. We had to book a wagon same day.
Liegen kaputt
morgentlicher Lärm durch Arbeiten
alles verstaubt
- Mandy (5/5): -
- Carolina (8/5): - it is what it is. If you come expecting a 5-star hotel, it is not. A bit expensive for what they include, but we enjoyed our stay despite the noise late and early. You cannot blame the ranch for people being noisy at 4am!! they do ask for quiet time. The beds have seen better days, but the linens were perfectly clean. You have to make your own bed though! It was funny a lady knocking in our wagon for housekeeping... well, maybe they wanted us out faster than we wanted to. The bathrooms could use a serious upgrade, but they were fairly clean. Again, one cannot control what other guests do in a shared space.
- David (2/5): - This property should really be avoided, especially the tipi site. What they refer to as beds are just wood frames that are back busters. There is no electicity, no tables, and absolutely no access to cooking or eating except at their restaurant. Do NOT stay here.
- Maria (8/5): Enjoyed our very basic stay in the tipi - A very basic tipi, and as advertised. 4 beds with thin mattresses, but as we were just 2 people, we simply doubled up the mattresses and slept fine. We were given bed sheets, towels and thin red blankets (see pictures), but used our own thick blue sleeping bags and pillows as those were not provided. The tipi was older, had some tears and spots, and although the "door"flap didn't close during a severe rainfall and the few drops landing on our faces, it was fun being there. The bathroom facility was cleaner than expected, with toilet paper, lockers, benches, 2 showers (the 3rd was out of order) and two sinks, however no plug ins anywhere to be found. Beautiful views of the valley, the restaurant was very nicely decorated and the food very good and quick to the table. There were activities for horseback riding and river floating available. Friendly staff and all, including guests, seemed to enjoy themselves. We had a great back-to-basic stay!
- Cade (10/5): - Very chill. Good spot to stay for a night.
- Whitney (9/5): We had the best time staying in a wagon with incredible views and interacting with nature! - The horses, the morning and evening roundups, the staff, the opportunities at Heart 6, the views, the nature! The bathrooms could use some work but if you’ve ever been camping, they are pretty on par! We didn’t mind them because we knew what to expect. Definitely worth staying here anyway!
