Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (6/5): - room not clean and no sound proof at all. staffs are kind though.
- Jimmy (10/5): I will be back here. - Of centre but really good. Service was super! Breakfast was ordinary, but very fresh.
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value hotel - Bra ställe med trevlig pool
- Thomas (8/5): - Quiet area to stay, long walk to downtown, otherwise good. The breakfast buffet needs improvement though.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff, location, nice room, pool... Not easy access at first
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Cleaning, and breakfast was terrible ,poolwas not ready when we were staying.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I was satisfied with the hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I stayed for four days. The location is difficult as it is at the end of long lane way. It initially seems unsafe, but it is safe. Grab and cabs have problems finding the place because google maps has it wrong. The hotel is excellent value. The rooms are clean, the service staff helpful and do their jobs, the pools is excellent and well maintained, and the breakfast is good, but the local food was not. The carpeting in the halls should be updated. I will stay here when I return to Yangon. If you do go there is a sharkey's down the road to eat at. And going the other way for a kilometer is an excellent food store, Marketplace in the City.
- SÉRGIO (8/5): Adequado - Funcionários atenciosos. Acomodações confortáveis. Boa localização, considerando a principal atracação -pagoda.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Alfred (8/5): Sonnenplatz - Guter Frühstücksplatz tolle aussicht
- Michael (10/5): - Staff were knowledgeable and very helpful. The hotel was perfectly situated for the sights in town and the swimming pool was a great asset after a long day out. The restaurant on top was an added bonus to see the local view.
- Verified traveler (6/5):
- Towhid (8/5): A chill feel in a hot humid day - It was a business trip in a hot & humid day. Loved the fact that they have a pool. Nice view for breakfast. Chances are there to come back :D
- Neal (4/5): - Declining standards overall. Unclean rooms, leaky roofs, poor breakfast service and declining breakfast choices. Overall, a hotel that once was value for money now has become a substandard within the Yangon hotel market.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Roligt område - Ok hotel til prisen. Tilbage trukket fra vejen. Roligt område. Venligt personale. Nyere badeværelse
- Belinda (10/5): Good hotel, nice pool - Nice quiet location, good size rooms and the pool was excellent and open later than most hotels. Breakfast was good. We would stay here again
- Surada (8/5): Good and comfortable hotel - Nice hotel, good room facility and bathroom.
But location is a bit isolate in small alley.
- KennethwongSF (10/5): Quiet refuge with friendly staff - I stayed at Sky View during my return to Yangon in December 2017.
The hotel is far away from the congested downtown area. It's quiet, close to Shwedagon so I could walk or take a cab there to visit it in the early morning before the pagoda gets crowded.
The hotel staff is friendly and helpful.
Some famous traditional Burmese restaurants -- Hla Myanmar (better known as Shwe Ba), Aung Thukha, and Danuphyu Daw Saw Yi, to name but a few -- are all close by.
The hotel breakfast usually includes moke hingha (catfish chowder and noodle), hsee htamin (sticky rice), and other classic Burmese meals. The breakfast room on the 5th floor gives you a panoramic view of the area.
From the hotel, I could get to downtown by taxi in about 15-20 mins (30 mins if traffic is bad), for roughly 3500-4000 kyats (roughly U.S. $3-4).
The only drawback is the small turn road to the hotel, which is a bit hidden and difficult to find. Taxi drivers sometimes miss it. It's also right next to a monastery turn lane, so if you take the wrong lane, you could end up in the monastery. I speak Burmese, so I can give taxi drivers clear direction, but if you don't speak the language, this might be challenging. I hope the hotel addresses this with better, larger signage.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good but narrow street to get to hotel
- Rob (10/5): Short walk to Shwedagon Temple - The hotel is located in a quiet lane just off main road. Clean comfy room. Very helpful staff. Good location for main temple.
- Ashish (8/5): Good place to stay - The staff is the pride of the place. Great people very helpful. The towels had stains on it, which was removed after pointing out. It's very close to the main attractions. Just a small lane to get out to the main road. Has awesome eating joints close by. Burmese , pizza, coffee, Thai. I would surely stay there again.
- Xiaoyang (10/5): cozy and clean, good for price - I stay here almost every time when I visit Yangon. It's reasonably priced for the area. The manager tries to keep a cozy and clean environment.
- Melanie (8/5): Two thumbs up! - Great place, location, people were super friendly.
- Lap Yan (10/5): Recommended - I have no reservation to recommend this hotel. It is clean, quiet and convenience. The service is good, and the price is reasonable. There are quite a number of good restuarants nearby.
- andy (8/5): Lovely staff , nice quiet location - As in the title ! Close to a major junction but you can't hear It! Staff fall over to help you , a taxi to is required to city centre , but cheap ! If you book a room (suite) get one above ground floor or you will be faced with a white concrete wall outside your window.
- Not Provided (10/5): Quick Stay - My husband and I arrived in the evening and had a flight out the early the next morning. When we checked in the person at reception was very helpful-do we want a wake up call? would we like a box breakfast? The room was very modern and clean. We would certainly stay here again.
- Greg (6/5): Ok - Great little hotel, out of the way but close to the Pagoda (1km). Room unavailable first night as AC leak but put up in a shabbier sister residence. Breakfast great. Needs a pool.
- Chris (8/5): Decent hotel, good location & friendly service - The staff were v.helpful with booking bus tickets, useful
- Cindy (6/5): You get what you pay for... - The room was very standard with minimal comfort and there are no lifts to your room. The internet is atrocious so don't think you will get much work done using the WIFI. The bedding smelt dank and each pillow was either rock hard or too soft. The entrance to the hotel is down a long alley way from the main road which is rather scary. Breakfast was very average, nothing special.
The staff on the other hand are wonderful and will do anything to help. They were very friendly so cannot fault them, especially since they are working 24 hour shifts. Yes, 7am to 7pm which is terrible!
- Georgina (8/5): Clean hotel with good wifi and breakfast - We had a lovely stay at Sky View and would recommend it to others. Good value, good buffet breakfast and the staff were brilliant. It's down a lane so not ideal for single females walking back late at night but taxis are easily accessible so always get one home at night and then staying at Sky View would be fine.
- Xiaoyang (8/5): convenient.and quiet - close to city center, shwe.dagon, but also quiet
- John (8/5): Close to Shwedagon Pagoda & parks - I've stayed many times, usually for business. It's a solid option at a better price point than premium properties with most of the amenities. It's missing pool, gym, and central meeting space, but is convenient for taxis to most places around the city from it's central location. It's definitely quieter and more relaxed than downtown hotels. And many great food options within walking distance. For tourists, it's very close to the Shwedagon and walkable to the some of the great parks surrounding that area.
- Chaw Su (8/5): - Check in was very fast and the room was very comfortable and quiet to stay. The staffs are very friendly. Thanks to Sky View Hotel.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I paid 86 dollars, but the service and room were only worth 60 dollars. Other hotels in Yangon are better for the same price.
- Lya (8/5): Pleasant oasis - Yangon is very chaotic these days. Sky View Hotel was a pleasant oasis.
- Eric (8/5): Nice, secluded getaway in the city - The hotel is tucked away off a Main Street. My taxi driver from the Yangon airport struggled to locate it.
Once I got checked in, however, the hotel was comfortable & the staff made every effort to assist me in any way possible.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable stay but no so convenient location. - The hotel is new, so the amenitites are still in good conditions however, the bathroom comes with a transparent glass door, so it wasn't that convinent since I was traveling with a friend.
Location of the hotel is a little secluded and out of the way, so it's good if you are looking for a quiet area, otherwise it's a little inconvenient when trying to get around and to downtown. Hotel guest would need to walk through a quiet alley to get to the place and the map the map did not correctly point out the exact location of the hotel. There's also no elevators in the building which puts us in slight inconvenience.
Otherwise, the staff are quite helpful, they also made a very good recommendation for cab driver when we needed to book a cab to get to Kinpun camp to visit the Golden Rock Temple. The car was spanking clean and comfortable.
- Irene (6/5): A good place to stay... - The hotel staff and location was good and accessible the only drawback is the food room service most of the food on the menu are all out of stock...
