• Michael (10/5): I truly amazing traditional Japanese experience highly recommend recommended! - The staff here could not have been more accommodating and helpful. They even called our room and waited for us when we were late for breakfast. This is a traditional Japanese experience for those who wish to immerse themselves in the culture.

• Valerie (9/5): Lovely Ryokan with Onsen - The room was large and comfortable for 3 adults with luggage. The room had a private toilet. On sight Onsen. Staff were friendly and accommodating. No rooms with private shower. Had to shower in the on sight Onsen.

Everything was perfect — the room, the service, the cleanliness, the delicious breakfast, and of course the beautiful on-site onsen. After a long day of skiing, it was exactly what we needed to relax and recharge. The atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming, and the traditional ryokan experience made our stay feel very special. We truly enjoyed every moment and would highly recommend Nakajimaya Ryokan to anyone looking for a comfortable and authentic place to stay while visiting the area. Nothing.

• Lucinda (4/5): Okay - Clean and lovely staff The amenities felt quite dated, particularly the bathroom. Unfortunately the hairdryer was unsafe — when my partner plugged it in, it sparked and blew out while he was holding it. Thankfully he was holding the plastic handle, otherwise it could have been a serious injury. We reported this to the front desk and suggested they check the appliances across the property to ensure no other guests are put at risk.

• Leigh (9/5): - We loved our stay at Nakajimaya Ryokan. Traditional Japanese Inn with on-site onsen was amazing. We had a traditional Japanese breakfast each day which was terrific. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Location was great, a 5 minute walk to the centre of the village and 10 minutes to the base of the mountain for skiing!

• Alan (10/5): Perfect experience - Authentic, comfortable experience with an amazing couple who own / run the property. 1km walk to the mountain for skiing but skis boots etc can easily be left at the base station.

The location is so close to the centre of town and a few nice restaurant's. The view we had was amazing.The onsen on-site was set-up quite well and added a little something extra to the place. The room had cobwebs in a few places, hadn't been upkept very well, i.e taps either blasted water or had no pressure, none of the remotes worked (had dead batteries), dead bugs all over the place and the bed matt's may of not existed as they were so worn it felt like you were sleeping on the floor anyway, which killed the whole vibe after a few nights.

• Jason (10/5): - Ryokan had its own onsen and was close to other nearby onsen. Staff were very kind and helpful and english was very good. Rooms were clean and the building had its own historic charm. We missed out on having the Ryokan set meal

The location is perfect. 5 minutes to the center with all restaurant and bars and another 5 to the gondola! Everything was clean, the onsen was hot and quiet! We slept on futons which were comfortable. New towels and ropes every day! Breakfast was tasty and authentic. Overall, we couldn’t have loved it more and we will be back!
