Guest Reviews
- Rebecca (10/5): -
- John (9/5): - The room was very nicely decorated and comfortable. Very clean too. I didn’t have time for breakfast as I had an early appointment but they provided me with a very nice takeaway breakfast.
- Jason (9/5): - Great location
- peter (7/5): Great Weekend spent mostly at Blenheim Palace - Good pub ,great location , good room We were kept waiting to check in for at least ten minutes , when the manager eventually arrived there was no Greeting or apology for the wait ,just whats your booking no . no other information about our stay imparted .
- Linda (10/5): -
- Lorna (7/5): Lovely, central hotel but room too hot. - Loved the location, attractive clean room, great breakfast Unfortunately we struggled to sleep because the room was really hot and if you opened the windows it was too noisy. Otherwise would have been perfect.
- Louise (7/5): Maybe better options - Position in Woodstock Bar and restaurant very quiet
- Rob (4/5): Very nice setting, helpful staff, noisy room due to traffic all night and too hot. - The town of Woodstock The very noisy road right outside and the lack of fresh air. The room was very hot.
- Kylie (10/5): -
- Clive (6/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, food excellent, let down by road noise and workmen outside our window. - Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and perfect location in Woodstock. The property currently, has scaffolding surrounding the building (we know it cannot be helped) and workmen were outside our bedroom window at 8am, felt slightly uncomfortable. Refuse men, delivery and road traffic very noisy, at 5am.
- Ngobeni (5/5): - The wifi is top, fast and always on. The value for money, money paid is too much for the small rooms they are offering.
Breakfast start late, around 8am.
Sometimes the rooms are not cleaned 😕
The shower is small
- John (7/5): An attractive old inn - A really well presented inn. The bedroom was absolutely delightful, though the bathroom door needs some attention so it will shut. Fairly quiet in the restaurant. The duty manager tried his best to find a replacement bulb for our room! A very attractive old town to visit. We wondered what we might have done to upset the waiter at breakfast as he was decidedly offhand with us, which was not pleasant.
This was not typical of the staff in general but affected my rating.

- Chris (8/5): A Woodstock Weekend - It’s location, image and value for money Decoration in the bedroom and bathroom tired and could do with being re-done.
- Jasper (10/5): - Great location within a beautiful village, friendly staff and great pub downstairs. Very nice and royal breakfast.
- Kathryn (8/5): -

- Mark (10/5): - Stayed at the Kings Arms many times, always enjoyable, had lunch in the restaurant food always excellent quality. Then up to the room for a snooze after a big lunch. Stayed in most of the rooms in the past all nicely decorated. An early flight on the morning of departure meant we had to miss the breakfast but I remember it always been very good Nothing to dislike
- Andy (5/5): -
- Joanne (8/5): Fabulous breakfast, room and location - Great location, lovely breakfast Could hear people in the next room
- Lesia (10/5): -
- Mike (8/5): - Nice hotel with popular bar are and restaurant. Food was nice and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast buffet lacked fresh fruit, but the freshly cooked hot option was very nice. Our room was second floor and window was so high my wife couldn't see out of it. This only a minor issue for us but having no view maybe a consideration for others. On street parking could be limited during the summer. Lack of fresh fruit on the breakfast buffet. Window too high to see out of. But very minor issue.

- Jacob de Lange (7/5): Short weekend visit to Blenheim - Great breakfast, comfortable bed and nice bathroom.
- Richard (5/5): Convenient but overpriced - some decor investment and management attention required - Comfortable bed Food not the best and very expensive. Decor is tired and there is a lack of attention to detail when it comes to cleaning.
- Amanda (7/5): - breakfast was good but cold
- BEVERLEY (10/5): Great value for money, 3rd time we have stayed here and will definitely use the hotel again. - Lovely clean and well equipped room. Excellent breakfast.
Great location for Blenheim Palace visit. Nothing!

- Cliff (7/5): - Evening meal very good.Room comfortable.Evening staff very good. The breakfast on the first day was very good.We waited over half an hour and was finally told our order had been given to other residents. When it did arrive it was cold and overcooked. The coffee was cold.We were very disappointed having had a nice meal the night before. The second day breakfast was better but the morning shift staff are much poorer than the evening team.I suggest it's an issue the company needs to address.
- Paul (8/5): -
- Sally (10/5): Value for money in perfection location. Lovely rooms and comfortable beds. - Location, convenience and cost effective. Lovely rooms and comfortable beds. N/A
- Carol (9/5): -
- Alex (10/5): -
- James (8/5): Good value and comfortable stay - Great room & facilities Breakfast was disappointing
- Kasia (7/5): - Staff was very friendly. Room and bathroom weren't particularly clean.
- Sally (10/5): Will definitely be returning as in the loveliest setting and real cosy comfortable room - Really cosy feel and great location Room was very hot but probably our issue as couldn’t turn the radiator off
- Janet (7/5): -
- Noah (8/5): - room is cozy my room was close to the kitchen staircase so it was a bit noisy at night.
- Steve (3/5): good apart from the bathroom flood. - Evening meal and breakfast good. Room comfortable The toilet came away from the wall, the bathroom flooded. I put towels down, went to reception, rang the bell, ignored, rang again, ignored, walked around , found the manager. I was told this was the busy time, 7am, no maintenance staff available, no other room offered, nothing can be done. So I went back up , packed my stuff and left at 8am. The response from the hotel management came across as poor and dismissive, perhaps not intended.
- John (9/5): Perfect for a getaway weekend - Authentic period charm, central location in the town and walking distance to the Blenheim Palace entrance. It was all good
- John (10/5): Very friendly and accommodating staff. Couldn’t do enough to make us welcome. - Great location in a lovely little town. Ideal for our day visiting Blenheim Palace after a good nights rest.
- Gerlinde (9/5): The experience exceeded our expectations, highly recommend it. - Excellent breakfast, lovely and helpful staff which also accommodated special requests for my toddler, very clean rooms, very comfortable bed (suite Henry)
- Susan (10/5): Fab stay, would definitely stay again 👍 - Everything!!!👍😄❤️ Nothing
- Cheryl (10/5): -
- Penny (9/5): Lovely hotel, great pub downstairs, good breakfast - Full of character, nicely decorated, spacious bedroom, excellent location Parking was on street only and it’s a very busy location so hard to get a spot at some times of day
- Soetkin C (7/5): Good for a night - The location is very close to Oxford and Woodstock itself is a lovely little town. The rooms were spaceous, and the breakfast was great. It's also nice that you get a discount at the inn's restaurant if you're a hotel guest. The rooms were not very clean, there was some mold in the bathroom in the shower and the faucet sometimes didn't work.
- Richelle (8/5): Comfortable with warm welcoming staff - Very good staff, comfortable bedroom Nothing to dislike
- Rachel (6/5): - Great location and lovely staff!! Our rooms felt a little unclean in parts and it was missing the finishing touches. The food menu was low on vegetarian options
- mark (9/5): Great stay again - Room very nice.breakfast great nice stay
- Leyton (8/5): -
- Michael (8/5): -
- Rana (7/5): Very good n well worth the stay. Defo recommend. - Breakfast with excellent! Good choice of hot n cold. The chef excellent. Carpets could do with deep clean. Around bath/shower area a bit grimy. Although mould is difficult to control.
- Martin (7/5): -
- Christopher (8/5): Great value and in a great position - Very good breakfast and the position of the accommodation could not have been better Would have preferred a shower over a bath.
- Catriona (9/5): -
- Bronwen (7/5): - Very well situated for visiting Blenheim Palace, lovely village.
Breakfast had plenty of choice and was well prepared and tasty.
Room named Louis was very clean with lovely decor. Not suitable for elderly people or walking issues as it was up two flights of stairs. Very noisy outside at around 5.30 beer barrel delivery maybe.???
- Debbie (6/5): Disappointing - Location Bathroom (Alfred) needs refurbing. Breakfast service appalling. Didn’t bother with it the 2nd day.
- Debbie Prevett (3/5): Grubby accommodation - Proximity to Blenheim Palace is excellent. Park on roads in bays stating 4 hours or more. Then get 24hr permit from hotel for £10.
Lovely old pub. Traveling as 2 couples. Arrived early at 2.20 but checkin is ONLY from 3pm. Our room 'William' was dirty and an old juice bottle left under bed. Cobwebs everywhere. Carpet had not been hoovered and bits everywhere. Bed was quite comfortable. Bathroom was small with the smallest shower cubicle ive ever been in. Again, the floor had not been cleaned properly. Room was cold, but i like it like that for sleeping. Our friends room 'George' was sooo hot and couldnt be cooled for some reason even though it was 2° outside.
Had an evening meal, half the menu wasn't available. They said it was because they had been so busy. Burger with no bun...really! Desert was served with the tiniest jug holding just a tablespoin of custard!
Breakfast - full English but had ran out of tomatoes. Eggs benedict not available as no muffins left. Ketchup smeared all over the empty salt grinder.
Sausage was nice, poached egg was overcooked and at first I thought it was a scrunched up white tissue. Tiny pot of beans but only filled with a desertspoon of beans.
- Jamie (5/5): - Overpriced
- Veronika (5/5): extremelly dissapointed with the discomfort the knee injuries have caused my husband - The bed frame made from very hard and point edged wood was extremelly painful if you through no fault of your own hit it. My husband was caught three times and drew blood twice, with the third time being extremelly painful and has left brusing and soreness in his knee. i strongly advise this be changed as more elderly or vulnerable people could have more serious complications.
- CRAIG (7/5): - Food was good , had breakfast and lunch , and evening meal . Staff were nice and friendly. Cleanliness wasn’t great in a few areas , and decor a bit tired . Only stopped one night , so could live with it .
- kay (9/5): -
- Robert (4/5): Very disappointed the hotel wasn’t up to our expectations after previous visits here have very good. - Location. Room was just about OK, as was the breakfasts. Staff were pleasant enough. Have stayed here a few times in the past. The place is tired and cleanliness was poor. When we arrived our room had a half drunk glass of water left by the bed, the bathroom was grubby and the toilet was left unflushed ! Breakfast was just about OK but not as good as on previous occasions. Carpets in the communal area needed hoovering and the hotel entrance was very dirty throughout our stay. The whole hotel was not to the standard as previous visits.
- Esme (10/5): -
- Jane (8/5): -
- Stefan (10/5): -
- Paul (8/5): A lovely hotel in a beautiful Cotswolds town with great staff only let down by the food - The staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was lovely and large with a very comfortable huge bed. There were a couple of niggles such as a towel holder that kept falling off and no tea spoons for the cups , but these were minor issues. We booked in the Christmas Day lunch which was very underwhelming.
The arrival fizz wasn’t cool enough requiring ice. One of the canopies was huge, more like a starter, although quite nice. The biggest issue was the main course where the turkey was very dry. A shame really as the young staff were again really friendly and worked very hard but there wasn’t enough of them.
- David (9/5): -
- Gary (9/5): We had a great overnight stay, would go back again - Proximity to Blenheim Palace and local bars and shops Parking can be a bit tricky
- Topadresje ! - niks
- Yvonne (8/5): Clean and friendly - Breakfast was good NA
- Christine (7/5): Nice enough and pleasant staff. Bit expensive but it was clise to Christmas. Fresh milk would be nice for beverages and - Location and period features Lots of stairs to the rooms to carry heavy bags
- Andrea (8/5): - Wouldn't let us check in until 3pm on the dot, did let us leave bags tho!
- Jan (9/5): -
- Liz (10/5): -
- Carol (8/5): Great location to walk to Blenheim - Really convenient location right in the middle of Woodstock. Big step into the bathroom from the bedroom.
- Darren (8/5): Perfect boutique spot for a stay in Woodstock - A little gem when it comes to quality of rooms and comfort, great space, bathroom and bed, all tastefully done. Decent breakfast included and well managed, very relaxed place to stay, good nights sleep, everything you need. Forgot to put heating on, guest can do this so not really a criticism but by time I realised too late :)
- Jade (10/5): Amazing. Comfortable. Cozy. Convienant. - Such nicely decorated rooms. Super comfortable beds. Rooms were super warm & cozy. Very clean. The breakfast was delicious and tasty, the restaurant & bar areas were super nice and cutely decorated also! Very convenient location. I liked everything.
- Chilcott (7/5): Very nice. - Bath was wobbly. Bit sure it was designed to support someone standing in a shower.
- mpw (7/5): - das Restaurant
- Ash (8/5): - A lovely traditional pub with goodfood& atmosphere
Lovely rooms & a great choice for breakfast The bedroom was very warm all night!

- Pamela (8/5): - Great stay lovely room So easy to get to Blenheim
- Martin (10/5): Would stay here again if visiting the area. - Conveniently located for Blenheim Palace, the reason for our trip. Room was very spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable. The pub area was nice and pleasant too. Nothing
- Liane (9/5): Excellent already rebooked. - The decor, location and restaurant. The single beds were ultra tiny when double bed were split to make twins .
No mention of how many stairs to get to room .
- Steve (8/5): Very good. Ideal for the one night - Location was perfect
Nice atmosphere Bathroom cold as towel rail not working, although we were warned on arrival
- Sandra (10/5): All the staff were so polite and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. - Our whole experience was just wonderful.
- Carol (9/5): Very nice - It’s age and decor You couldn’t dry your hair in front of the mirror as the lead wouldn’t reach
