• sandra (7/5): The receptionist summed it up ‘the bars below are mad and very loud music until 3/4 am’! - It was close to restaurants etc Noise levels at night. Shower was not a shower it was the mixer taps on a bath. And only enough water to do one bath at any given time.

• Martin (7/5): Nettes Altstadt-Hotel für einen Wochenend-Städtetrip - - Perfekte Lage für einen Städtetrip - Historisches, schön renoviertes Gebäude - Ausnahmslos überaus freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal - Gutes Frühstück, mit ausreichend Auswahl - So viel Wasserflaschen wie benötigt inbegriffen - Typischer Valletta-Erker-Balkon - Fenster und Balkontüren schließen schalldicht (leider notwendig) - Direkt um die Ecke der "Bar-Gasse" Strait Street" - dort herscht tolle Atmosphäre und Stimmung mit lauter Musik (jedoch kein "Ballermann-Flair") - dadurch ist ein Schlafen bei offenem Fenster aber absolut unmöglich (Ohropax schon im Zimmer angeboten...). Fenster und Balkontüre schließen aber schalldicht. - Badezimmer sehr spartanisch, klein, keine Steckdose, bescheidenes Licht
• Sandrine (8/5): Séjour agréable sauf le soir où il y a cette musique (bar en bas de l’hotel) qui devient pénible et cela jusqu’à 2h du - L’emplacement, le personnel et le propriétaire qui vous donne gentiment des conseils. Juste en bas de l’hôtel, il y a un bar qui le soir, mets la musique à fond…difficile de dormir même avec les Boules Quies que l’hôtel fournit. Nous avons pu changer de chambre, le bruit était moins fort mais nous étions malheureusement obligés de mettre quand même les Boules Quies.

• Monica (9/5): - Great breakfast with eggs, yogurt, cheese, meat, fresh fruits, baked goods, specialty coffee. The location is excellent, just steps away from the main touristic streets and sites, but tucked away on a quiet street across from a monastery with a secret garden. I liked that you could reach the sea promenade in a few minutes, for example a great sunset watching spot is nearby at the back of the St. Paul's Cathedral. The bed was very comfortable, the windows were quite good at soundproofing the occasional noise from the bar nearby. The side street has many restaurant and bars, I particularly enjoyed the Japanese restaurant on the corner. This is something the property cannot control, but the bar on one side of the building, which is one of many bars on that side street, plays loud music until late at night. The soundproofing of the windows works quite well, and with a pair of earplugs I didn't have any issues. The property does provide earplugs, but you can bring you own to ensure perfect comfort.

• AIKATERINI (8/5): η διαμονή ήταν ωραία και απόλαυσα την Μαλτα παρόλο που ο χρόνος μου ηταν περιορισμένος λόγω δουλειάς - η τοποθεσία ήταν εξαιρετική, μέσα στην Βαλέτα, κοντά σε όλα τα αξιοθέατα. στο ξενοδοχείο διέθεταν μέσα στο δωμάτιο, σνακς, νερό και αναψυκτικά και μπορούσες να πιείς καφέ και τσαι που ήταν πολύ βολικό αυτό, και γενικά εκτίμησα ότι κάθε μέρα φρόντιζαν να ανανεώνουν το στοκ. Το δωμάτιο ήταν ανακαινισμένο και το μπάνιο πολύ καθαρό και εξοπλισμένο. Το προσωπικό ήταν ευγενικό και μου παρείχαν και έναν apaptor για να φορτίσω το κινητό μου γιατί δεν είχα. το προσωπικό ήταν εξυπηρετικό, το πρωινό ήταν καλό, αλλά όχι εξαιρετικό, θα μπορούσε να έχει περισσότερο ποικιλία μαγειρευμένων φαγητών όπως ομελέτα, αυγά τηγανιτά κλπ. το δωμάτιο είναι μικρό και σχετικά σκοτεινό, αφού βλέπει μπροστά σε ένα στενό δρομάκι. Θεωρώ ότι το ξενοδοχείο είναι ακριβό για αυτά που προσφέρει
• Lamis (10/5): Excellent choice for your stay at the heart of Valletta - The Barrister is located conveniently in the heart of Valletta, close to all attractions. The staff was great and accommodating at all times, breakfast was lovely (avocados, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, sweet pastries, cereals, fruit, etc.) and sufficient for easy start of the day. We were provided with various hotel amenities, with even bath robes available upon request. All in all, excellent choice and great value. The air condition is set to 23°C and cannot be increased. We stayed in April so the room temperature was on the colder side. In any case this wasn’t a big problem for us.

• Castro (8/5): Very well located, nice building and room - The most relevant aspect is its location, I have to admit. Walking distance from everywhere. Very well located. The building and the room were also nice. And nice staff. Room has two beds; one of them (left) was too soft, not solid enough; as the other one was perfect, it worked for me. Breakfast was also too limited; in particular on fruits and on pastries.

• JJ (6/5): Nice place to stay at a fair price; Not for light sleepers due to noise! - Generally a pretty nice hotel, with pretty nice rooms, at a very fair value. The hotel says it's in a vibrant neighborhood; That understates the street ("The Gut") it's next to which has bars and clubs blasting music until 1am. The fact the hotel provides ear-plugs on arrival is evidence thereof. And as discussed with the staff, the bedding all feels tired (lumpy / poor quality pillows).

• BIALGW (10/5): Very Pleasant Stay - I stayed for 4 nights 1st -5th March 2026. Great location, only a few steps from the main street and a 10 -15 minute walk from the cathedral and bus station. Lots of places to eat nearby. My room was spotless and had everything I needed. Free drinking water was provided every day, There was a mini bar containing soft drinks and snacks but it wasn't clear whether these were complimentary - there didn't appear to be a price list in the room but neither was there anything to say that these were included in the room price. Breakfast was excellent, everything was of good quality and extremely fresh, Coffee, tea, milk and juices were brought to your table by a friendly lady who is a real asset to your hotel. Others have commented on the noise from nearby clubs and bars personally I did not have any issues with noise and slept soundly without the need of the ear plugs supplied by the hotel. Overall very pleasant stay.

We saw some reviews that warned of noise, but the windows are double glazed and we were not bothered. Room with a terrace and hot tub was great with a view of the cathedral. Super helpful staff and charming owner who chatted with us over breakfast and gave us some great tips for what to see. Book directly with the hotel.

• vikkit477 (8/5): Birthday weekend trip! - Me and my mum stayed here for 4 days. The hotel is in a perfect location with everything on your doorstep. The staff were great, helped with taxis and they even got a surprise bottle of prosecco for my birthday! The only downside is on 1 night the noise from the bars were crazy loud, at 2am we were downstairs complaining to the receptionist as we couldn't sleep even with earplugs in! Overall it's a beautiful place, but maybe they need to warn people of the noise beforehand on there site or in an email so guests are aware.

Well positioned to walk to local sites such as Grand Masters Palace and bus links. Great central location with lots great cafes and restaurants nearby . Unfortunately there is noise from a bar round the corner, ear plugs are provided by the hotel . The owner and the lady who serves breakfast really made our stay all the more hospitable.

It’s 10 minutes by walking from the bus station and near to the main landmarks and good restaurants in Valetta. The staff is so polite and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The room was perfectly cleaned and tidied every day which is very important for me. I recommend the hotel. :) Nothing :)

• K1709BZiann (10/5): Fabulous hotel, fantastic staff! - This was a surprise 60th birthday trip from my wife - and she couldn’t have picked a better place for us to stay. From the minute we checked in - when the lady on reception showed us to our room and explained all about the hotel - nothing was too much trouble. We got excellent restaurant recommendations and helpful tips on what to visit. The cleaning staff were also so understanding - when we kept nipping back into to our room and disturbing them at work! We had the room with the rooftop jacuzzi - and that was an amazing experience - especially with the sounds of Carnival echoing around the city. Can’t recommend Valletta enough and would absolutely recommend the Barrister as the place to stay. And everyone in Valletta seems to be friendly - and I mean everyone!!

Coffee and tea was made to you. In my opinion there were enough options to fuel you for the day. The location of the hotel is ideal. Don't forget to pack your swimsuit with you - there are nice places for swimming and sunbathing just in the corner from hotel. No beaches but beautiful seaside rocks with ladders. Staff and owner very kind and helpful.

• Jane (7/5): Great hotel with ear plugs - The hotel, staff, facilities, breakfast were excellent. Really welcoming and perfect location for the local bars and restaurants The noise. Unfortunately, the hotel is next to a really busy lane of bars and nightclubs. The noise until 3 am was extremely loud. It started Thursday and continued throughout the weekend. The hotel do provide excellent ear plugs, which kill all the noise, but without them, it feels like you're at a rave.

The hotel is just round the corner from two bars/clubs which BLAST music into the early hours. The hotel moved us but the noise continued. Unbearable.

We had a fantastic time in Room 45; it was both cozy and impeccably clean. Having the private balcony with the hot tub made our stay truly special. I particularly enjoyed the tub on Tuesday when the weather was superb. I also want to commend your breakfast service. The variety of healthy options was a real treat and provided the perfect start to each morning. Above all, please extend my sincere appreciation to your superb staff. Everyone was incredibly helpful, but I would like to make a special mention of Olena, whose kindness and courtesy stood out. Beyond the hotel, we also enjoyed a visit to Mysterium, which was a fascinating addition to our itinerary. I wish you and the entire team at The Barrister Hotel a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

• Karen (9/5): Great hotel and perfect for exploring Valletta - Lovely little hotel in the heart old old Valletta, comfortable beds lovely breakfast and really friendly staff The location was so central but round the corner from Strait Street which diane some noice from the bars there at night. There is nothing the hotel could have done about this but it is a distraction and worth noting. However in my opinion the location round the corner from St George Square and near everywhere of interest more than compensates for this
• Andrzej (10/5): Świetnie spędzone cztery dni w pięknym miejscu. Polecam! - Znakomita lokalizacja w samym centrum starej Valletty, bardzo miły personel, bardzo czysto. Pokój niewielki, z balkonikiem, łóżko podwójne starcza dla osoby do 194cm. Klimatyzacja. Śniadania pyszne, zawsze świeże, kontynentalne, bez ciepłych dań typu parówki, czy jajecznica. Jaja, trzy gatunki sera, trzy gatunki wędlin, dużo owoców, musli, jogurty. Pyszna kawa (do wyboru herbata, oraz soki) bez problemu z dolewką :) Bardzo dobre pieczywo, ciasto i rogaliki. Jedyny minus, związany z ogromnym plusem, jakim jest lokalizacja w centrum, to wieczorne imprezki słyszalne w pokoju, zamknięcie okien niweluje go praktycznie do zera.

• Mariella (9/5): Great experience - The room was very clean and spacious enough. The ambience and layout of the hotel gives you an idea of how Maltese houses in the heart of Valletta were built in the older times. Breakfast was good with enough variety. The cranes outside the building. The area can be noisy especially in the weekend but the apertures cancel out the noise well.
• Elizabeth (10/5): Great hotel in central Valetta - Lovely hotel, very conveniently situated central to Valetta. Delightful friendly staff, couldn't have been more helpful. A creative conversion of an old building to provide modern and very comfortable facilities. Plentiful breakfast with a wide range of fruit, meats and cheeses. Absolutely nothing! We would definitely stay at the Barrister again if visiting Valetta.
