Guest Reviews
- Elizabeth (1/5): Poor quality accommodation - Location was good close to the beach and town centre attractions and shopping, good weather The room was fairly adequate but the balcony was disgusting pigeon mess everywhere on seats, table, floor also the balcony slopped down not level it felt like I unbalanced. There was never any hotel staff around you had to ring the bell but never ever came to assist. I didn’t like the fact that on check in I had to pay a £50 deposit refundable which I wasn’t aware of, and it takes 4 days to refund the money. I parked my car in the garage the bins in there were overflowing with rubbish and all over the floor health risk attracting vermin. I didn’t find the receptionist very welcoming when I did see her only when arrived to take my money deposit, not when I left to ask about my deposit refund when that would be, I had to call the reservation phone number to ask them. I stayed at the hotel last year and it was a pleasant stay but I won’t be returning again.
- Ivanov (1/5): - There was no electricity in the bathroom and pigeons lived on the terrace and it was in use.
- Darcy (1/5): -

- Archie (10/5): Thanks - Clean Nothing
- Archie (10/5): Thanks - Clean Nothing
- Ian (9/5): Relaxing stay - The location The lady on reception made us feel welcome. Showed us to our room
- Jamie (1/5): The grand hotel is in a nice location and the facilities are ok , the real downside is the company that owns it they do - Location
- Andrew (1/5): Avoid this place at all costs. - Bed was clean and comfortable. Location was great on the seafront. Room floor was dirty with paint chips scattered around in many places. Shower had nothing but a small trickle of water and the balcony was filthy. Fire alarm went off one night and no-one on the out of hours call number knew what to do to shut it off. Managers emergency number was blocking calls so I had to call the fire brigade for help even though there was no sign of fire. After I complained the hotel denied all knowledge that the incident had happened. This place should be removed from the booking.com website.
- Elaine (3/5): Quite frightening - The bed was comfy. I was horrified that I never even saw a staff member. No-one was ever at reception so I rang a number. I was told which room I was staying in and to collect keys from a key box on the wall outside. I was on my own at 74 years old and this to me was totally unacceptable.
- Jade.H-Hazard (5/5): -
- Mark (1/5): Ruined my partners birthday weekend - Nothing. Hello we stayed with you Fri -sun on Saturday morning the cleaner knocked on our door and asked if we was smoking cannabis in the room (drugs) I was mortified and completely ruined my day and my stay I was there for my partners birthday, also the place was filthy the car park full of overflowed bins also rats it was digusting.
- Rovetto (1/5): - This place was absolutely disgusting and the customer service when I got there was useless i tried to get refund as I did not want to stay here with my family as its so dirty and not hygienic avoid Avoid at all cost absolute disgusting place and found out it was use for housing illegal immigrants recently before its been used for public use again
- Melanie (4/5): Filthy! - Where the hotel was. The room was dirty, tv wasnt connected and the remote was filthy. Couldn't take our shoes off due the the floor being filthy.
- Jane (5/5): - The view Firealarm going off first night no staff on site
- Julie (1/5): - Nothing No staff, not cleaned,no one new what was happening
- Dave (1/5): zero out of 10 for both hotel and booking.com - lesson learned (future business lost) - Location, wanted something on sea front No email to detail what to do when arrive. Hotel is not staffed, took a long time to contact someone by phone to find out room number and code to collect key from outside. Room was disgusting, everything was poor quality, stained ceiling paint, mould in bathroom. Fire alarm went off at night and took another guest hours to contact someone (again by phone). Booking.com failed to give checking in instructions and decided will book accommodation direct in future, not the 1st time experienced poor value via booking.com
- Michelle (8/5): - The easy access to the keys to my room friendly staff beautiful view The room I stayed in wasn't very clean unlike the last time I stayed in the same room cigarette filters were still in the draws, the floor had got bits on the sideboard had coffee and sugar left in the groves, the bedding when I stripped it when leaving had blood on the quilt, the mattress protector had a cigarette burn in and there was in on it and the pillows slightly stained it was very different from the last time I stayed
- Paula (7/5): -
- Aston (1/5): We didn’t like the stay it was absolutely atrocious I would recommend nobody stays there - The only good thing about it was being near the beach and all the other attractions Hoover in the doorway
Rooms pigeon infested there were always pigeons there
Locks on doors broken and we didn’t feel safe
My mother in law couldn’t walk up the stairs tried to get her moved but wouldn’t have it
People smoking weed and smelling the place out
No one checking you in
No one answering the phone if needed in an emergency
Showers not working
Heating constantly on in nice weather
Thin walls so can hear everything
Gave us a code for a key safe and key wasn’t in it
Expected us to look in the drawers for that key all because my mother in law couldn’t walk up the stairs
Tv wasn’t working
Some windows wouldn’t open
In one of the rooms the radiator valve was broken
Some balcony doors were not locked as there were no keys for them doors
Reception door always open for anyone to walk in especially at night time
When trying to call someone about a problem they said they will fix it and they never did
Don’t feel safe in the place
Chairs springy and bird mess everywhere
Some shower doors don’t shut
- Alison (1/5): The Grand not grand ! - The location. The pictures being used for this property are old it's nothing like adverts. No one is at the property. You have to phone a number to tell you the code to a key safe outside. The whole place is dirty and messy. Our room had broken furniture a thin mattress and absolutely filthy. It's basically a slum. Dangerous due to it being open to anyone. We didn't stay. We booked in at the Premier Inn over the road. Refund was refused. It's false advertising and certainly not grand. We were horrified at the utter filth and washing and rubbish piled up in the hall outside our room. Definitely stay away.
- Chadderton (4/5): - Location is great Unclean, waiting to check in nobody around.
Balcony was for 1 person like a prison cell..
- Debbie (1/5): -
- Valentina (8/5): -
- Garry (1/5): The grand dump - Nothing Everything
- Nicole (1/5): Worst stay - The location of the hotel was the only thing good about the hotel We arrived at check in at 3 to find no one there the key safe empty I had to ring the number at reception a woman came she couldn’t find our key to 2 rooms then found one for a different room walked in the room was absolutely filthy there was empty cans all over the room the bed not been changed it hadn’t been cleaned from the previous night we then had to go away and wait for the room to be cleaned which was still dirty when we came back the floor was black it hadn’t been mopped in years and all we got from the woman when I complained was they haven’t had any staff for 2 weeks and it was her first day there just think the whole experience was horrible especially for the price
- Stephanie (5/5): Basic room, check reviews before accommodating - The location was nice enough for all that Skegness had to offer. Walkable distance from the town centre to the fair the beach and eating places.
The bed was comfy and plenty of towels available. Soon as arrived there was no one at reception, a few people were on the phone trying to get hold of someone to check us in. We waited around 30mins to find out the general assistant was cleaning the rooms and checking people in. She was the only member of staff on site. The room was small, and there were pigeons in the room which to me is disgusting, bird poo on the floor and everywhere on the balcony. The most noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Hearing clear conversations between the rooms, noisy, not the cleanest and very basic, no top up of coffee tea or sugar, just not looked after at all. Couldn't sit out on the balcony as it seemed to be a pigeon gathering. No chair to sit on just a bed with designed units and a wardrobe.
- Tanya (6/5): - the hotel was fine we never g rolls for 2 days then we finally got some the stairs there to much for me and my partner we need a place where theres lift or were on the ground floor
- Crabtree (7/5): - Views Cleanliness
- Tracy (5/5): - This is an unmanned hotel we arrived on Thursday. We had to call a number to get code for our room key we went upstairs to our room quite a bit of rubbish on the stairs which was still there .when we left on Saturday beds not very comfy lumpy in places. Good location I prefer a hotel which is manned
- Madison (1/5): Poor. - Close to the sea front Customer service, very poor!
Lack of communication and staff was rude, room wasn’t clean and staff informed us someone else was in room, caused a lot of stress.
- Ingamells (4/5): Very basic facilities - Location Cleanliness, uncomfortable bed & tv didn't work
- Emma (1/5): Discusting - Nothing The whole experience
- Pitts (1/5): Horrible I want my money back I actually stayed out at my friends caravan he had rented for the weekend - Nothing My room was filthy I had dirty towels my bedding had not been changed had blood on there the floor had rubbish on it could not get hold of a member of staff even the cups had not been changed so tea no coffee this is definitely not somewhere I would recommend I called the number provided to be told the cleaner had not turned in
- Richard (3/5): - There was no staff.booked two rooms both had no heating radiators were turned off.got moved to another room via a phone call and that was the same floors not clean cigarette ends on balcony and bathroom was dirty. I very wrote in other box what did not like
- karl (1/5): Shall not book there again - The rooms were not cleaned and on arrival no access to prepaid room. We returned to the "hotel" at 22.30 to find the room still not cleaned nor bed made..
- Derek (1/5): - Seafront location is good. Room very dirty. Clearly hadn't been moped or swept in ages. Rubbish under the bed, false nails in the bin, tobacco and knickers in the drawers. Completely unstaffed all the time we were there. Charged extra for our dog which was a joke given how dirty the place was. No pet extras but charged £25. Should have read the reviews.
- Alisha (5/5): -
- Courtney (10/5): Just want to say thankyou to the hosts, on arrival they was helpful -
- Julie (6/5): - Good location Dogs barking at all hours
- Coleen (1/5): -
- Peter (1/5): - The view Going up 3 flights of stairs no lift with two dogs and a disabled wife
- ROBERT (10/5): -
- Richard (9/5): Great location for sea views - Location No complaints from me
- Peter (7/5): - Close to amenities, room was spacious even had a balcony. Found the hotel adequate for the short time we stayed value for money The only bad side was the hotel doesn't offer a breakfast
- BEN (8/5): Amazing view of skeg vegas - Amazing view, easy check in I'm a light sleeper so probably ok for most but the floors we're creaky to me with people coming and going stayed on a Friday so late comings and goings but expected it
- Georgia (5/5): -
- Alan (10/5): Skegness weekend stay - Location. View.room was spacious. storage. Close to everything we needed shops amusements. Beach. Cleaning could off done with a bit more attention. decor needed a bit off TLC.
- NICOLA (1/5): Dirty place - Location Dirty, mattress was as flat as a pancake, noisy, no electric socket near the kettle, we had to put the kettle on the floor next to the wardrobe, very unsafe. The window latch was broken. Would not stay again!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
- Robyn (3/5): Location good but worth paying extra to stay somewhere better - Location was great The beds were really uncomfortable, pictures of rooms are misleading. Unfortunately the building means you can hear every sound from floors above or on the same floor. We woke at 6am and couldn’t wait to check out and leave.
- Gemma (8/5): Perfect - The view of the sea was amazing , it was quiet , clean and very comfortable N/A
- Carla (7/5): - The view was great and location was perfect. Nice room space and easy booking in and leaving. Staff was friendly. Good price for the one night. Other visitors were smoking weed and it filled our room with the smell which wasnt pleasant but that is not the hotel fault. The tv played up a lot with signal issues luckily had my phone and took a while for the water tap to work but was fine when it did.
- Dawn (6/5): Nice but wont stay again - Everything on your door step, it was clean and comfortable, staff where friendly The curtains are rubbish they need thicker curtains up that actually fit and close. Theres no staff on through the night which was a problem because the couple staying in the next room were arguing and shouting and smashing the furniture up it was going till 3am,the floorboards above need doing they were loud when people were walking about. We stayed Friday to the Monday and only Sunday was a good sleep. Its a shame as the owners are nice people.
- Mica (2/5): Wouldn’t book again, not even for £10 - Location The room was tiny, our bed was held up by extra wood and was still extremely wobbly , the wooden floors and furniture made the place so so noisy.
- Philip (2/5): - The location Room not ready, no towels or toilet paper.
Asked reception to put some in the room while we were out, only brought towels.
Gave us keys that didn't fit the front door so we were locked out, went around the back and the door had been left unlocked.
Other guests came in late, drunk and noisy.
We barley slept.
Next morning there was what looked like a broken picture in the passage and empty food containers.
I would describe the room as grimy, bare minimum cleaning.
I didn't take photos but should have.
We left just after 8.00
- geoff (3/5): Horid - Nothing They new arrival time nobody about had to make phone calls 15 minuets later person turned up gave us a key said it was there day of , door lock was loose ,smell of cannabis in upstairs corridor, wifi didn't work
- Debbie-lee (1/5): UNHYGIENIC- BEDBUGS- Safety risk MOULD - AVOID - BEDBUGS!!!! I booked this on behalf of my sister and fiancé as they were attending a local event nearby to join friends.
Unfortunately the room reserved for them was a whole safety risk resorting in them having to leave on return from there evening event at 1am in the morning with nowhere to stay. The bedding had BEDBUGS and their feces on. Soiled bedding. Mould on the wall creating harmful spores and MORE. We have full photographic evidence of this. (I currently hold one of the images)
There was no original high expectations other than a clean safe hygienic room to stay in, however my sister then had to find another hotel room and to also pay full cost. We are yet to receive full refunds and communication. Booking are aware yet they have ended communication!!! AVOID - BEDBUGS!!!! I booked this on behalf of my sister and fiancé as they were attending a local event nearby to join friends.

- Jane (1/5): Never again - there is too much to say about the place and not enough space to write it all in! Breakfast was supposed t - Location was near the venue! Where do I start? Reception was obviously part of the owners sitting area as empty cups were laying around and children’s toys.
- Chantell (4/5): - Close to everything The shower was pointless, there was not heating it was cold and no plug points anywhere
- Jamie (4/5): Had to sleep in own clothes as heating insufficient. - Location Freezing cold
- Charlotte (6/5): - Location was perfect only 5 mins walk to the Beach , hotel looked nice on the outside and inside, bedding felt nice and soft , room got warm once we put the radiator on. Was given plenty of towels, staff were very friendly. Didn’t like the noise at night time , kept hearing an extractor fan come on and it was so noisy , kept hearing people walk past the door and going upstairs. Only one toilet roll in the bathroom.
- Carl (2/5): -
- Katrina (4/5): Wouldn't stay again - Breakfast awful was ready as soon as we sat down , it was cold and low value for money. It was pre made before we got there. The room had a smashed window that was taped up.
- Mark (8/5): Good - Bed really comfortable balcony good Staircase
- Christine (1/5): - Very old and date shower was awful water just trickle out not enough sockets Furniture could definitely do with a update and shower is not enough pressure
- Stacey (10/5): Great - Clean comfy staff was polite will stay again
- Terry (7/5): - Location very good 2 minute walk to town centre. Very good bus service Not having mini fridge to keep drink cold
- Peter (6/5): - Friendly staff location great bedroom clean Not enough plug sockets very warm in the hotel dinning room could be more inviting
- Lisa (7/5): -
- Andy (3/5): -
- Kasie (5/5): -
- Sharon (6/5): - The chap I spoke with for some time was such a great person with a similar look on life too myself. It was a fab big room looking out too sea and not really there fault for some issues around the area I do think a bit more care with cleaning would make a big difference
- Jason (8/5): -
- thompson (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Stephen (5/5): -
- Kim (8/5): -
- Maria (6/5): -
- Lee (1/5): - Dosent even look like picture different colour building full of imigrants dirty dark dont go there All of it when does booking .com check these places disgrace
- Julie (9/5): - View from room was good adequate for a few days away The three flights of stairs
- Barry (8/5): -
- Hughes (9/5): -
- Mark (8/5): -
- Clydie (6/5): Fine place to stay for a couple of days with my dog. - Location was good, room was adequate for my needs, clean and comfy.
- Anthony (9/5): - Room was clean spacious. Staff very polite and accommodating. We were allocated top floor when I explained my partner and myself have mobility issues, reception immediately changed room to first floor which was a massive help.
- Kerry (1/5): Quick - Dirty Dirty
- Dan (6/5): - It was ok location was good, but no breakfast which wasnt good
- Denise (3/5): - i had communication in febuary when I booked that I would be given a 1st floor room this did not happen i had communication in febuary when I booked that I would be given a 1st floor room this did not happen
- Annette (10/5): - The room was beautiful & the view was worth climbing the stairs!
- Rachel (8/5): - The manager was warm and welcoming if we needed anything we had contact details. Windows and wood work could do with cleaning. Overall pleasant stay and would definitely stay again comfy bed clean room.
- Sully (2/5): Very poor - Location perfect near to centre of skeg.. Did not stay for breakfast so can.t comment on it. We found the hotel poor on cleanliness.smell hits you as you walk to other rooms. Stained pillows. Every door was filthy. They advertised free parking but for 20 finishing 3 spaces. . I could not managed the stairs. Did not stay walked out and stayed else where
- Clare (7/5): - Location
Size of the room
Sea view Dust round mirror
No toilet paper had to buy my own for the price thought it would be included .
Dusty under wardrobe.
- Sarah (7/5): Short break in Skeggy - Comfortable attic room at the top and a great seaview with balcony. Although room was small, everything was very clean and extra pillows in drawers if needed. Good hot shower plus complimentary bodywash and shampoo. Bed was comfortable, plenty of drawers and hanging space. It would be better if the floors were carpeted in the rooms to reduce noise and a shame no lift as it's quite a climb up to the third floor, but otherwise no real complaints.
- Tait (10/5): X - Staff was great X
- Fox (3/5): - Convenient for what we wanted to do Dirty room dust under beds. Kettle full of limescale. Beds uncomfortable.
- barry (2/5): - ditto
- shaney (10/5): -
- MR PETER (2/5): - Room looked clean but had bed bugs fleas and a glass shelf in bathroom was loose and cushions were filthy full of dirt so never even slept in the room went down to complain at 9.15 no body to report issues to so waiting until 2 am went home
- Claire (8/5): - Very friendly staff great for being close to everything only complaint no milk to go wirh the tea and coffee provided But all round great place to stay
- Tricia (2/5): - Upon check in our room didnt have toilet roll, it had only 1 coffee sachet, no sugar no milk etc.
The rooms are grubby with filthy floors. The bed creaks but isnt too uncomfortable. We had a balcony room but only 1 of us could use it as it was so small with barely enough room for 1 chair, it also felt unsafe due to the camber. The shower pressure was non existent, it chooses its own temperature to trickle at and the cubicle is tiny.
You need to unplug the small kettle snd carry the whole thing, cord and all, to fill it up. The tv has no channels, every station shows no signal. Theres a funky dirty grease smell but that could be coming from the kfc across the road.
No bar facilities.
- Candice (10/5): Really good would be booking again in future just need to sort out balcony problem - We liked location staff friendliness and price Balcony door could have been a bit bigger as I'm a well built women and couldn't properly get onto balcony for fresh air if stay again I would prefer a bigger balcony door if possible with a sea view
