Fir Trees Guesthouse is in the perfect location, right in the middle of Windermeer and Bowness, in a quiet location close to the ferry for those wanting to see Beatrice Potter, Hilltop farm. The Inn keepers, Tim and his wife Vickie are such lovely people willing to help with whatever you might need. The guest house is beautiful, as well as very clean!! We loved our stay.

Their bed and breakfast is lovely, clean and spotless, and we loved the personal touches in the room, including the claw foot tub. The personalized breakfast was amazing, and Tim was so helpful in helping us find a last minute tour. Our first experience with a B & B, we loved the area and our stay in the Lake District. We would love to return!
- Vishal (10/5): Just Wonderful! - From the moment we arrived till the time we left, we were made to feel very welcome! Wonderfully run guest house, the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The room was a good size, clean and tidy, and the bathroom was very nice too. The breakfast was great especially the pancakes! š Not sure when Iāll visit again but I will and Iād definitely stay here again and recommend it. Great location within walking distance to Windermere and to Bowness. Thank you to the staff, appreciated your warm hospitality.
- David (10/5): Short stay in windermere - Easy to find and plenty of parking. Really helpful hosts providing lots of details on what to do and where to go, also very accommodating, even provided is with an HDMI cable so we could link our computer to the TV to watch netflix. Lovely home cooked flapjack in our room each day and more by reception to help ourselves. Rooms nicely furnished and spacious. Breakfasts are really great, we had a full english every day. Great location being almost equidistant between Bowness and Windermere town. We really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to the next tine we can visit.

Our room was great, the only disappointment was the pillows which we both struggled with. Otherwise parking was easy, we felt welcomed and the breakfast was fab, we recommend the pancakes!

The room was spacious, with an extraordinary comfortable bed, which after a long day of hiking, I couldn't wait to jump into. Shower was excellent too. Naturally I had the full cooked English breakfast every morning and it was top notch. Kept me going until the evenings. If you are thinking of coming to Windermere, you must stay at the firs, you will not regret it. I will definitely be coming back. I had a great time. Thank you so much

Spotlessly clean, perfect location (halfway up the hill between Bowness and Windermere) breakfast was lovely and lots of choice, beds were really comfy and there was tea/coffee/hot choc in the room along with mini fridge with fresh milk and bottled water.

I didn't have my car on this trip, Windermere and Bowness centres are easy 15min walks away. Will definitely look to return here on my next trip to the Lakes.

Easy access to Orrest Head! - Very clean and tidy room with 360 degrees oscillating stand fan and little fridge for soft drink and wine which are treasures during a hot week in Lake District. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a friendly smile and a genuine willingness to ensure our stay was comfortable. Each morning, my partner and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast. I was impressed by the quality and presentation of the food, which exceeded my expectations. Also, owners make good recommendations for day trips in the area. Overall, we really did enjoy our stay(the bed was comfy and our room and bathroom were really clean). It's a great place to stay.

- Benjamin (10/5): Perfect Weekend Away - Vicki and Tim were brilliant, we arrived on the friday for a two night stay. The little touches made it a brilliant stay from flapjacks on arrival to a gluten free snack as soon as vicki found out my girlfriend was GF. Breakfast was lovely, full english one day and pancakes the next. Room was clean and tidy and everything we needed, car park at the front of the house. B&B is in the perfect position to walk to bowness or windermere and outside a bus stop which meant getting to ambleside was a breeze. Mini fridge, wine glasses, coffee/tea and shampoo. Owners were nice and relaxed and made us feel so welcomed. Lovely lovely stay and would recommend to family and friends. Thanks Vicki and Tim, we will be returning

The breakfast was 1st class, with lots of choice and there's enough parking too. There is complimentary fruit and bottled water if you want it also. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Felt at ease and very warmly welcomed by Tim & Vicky. Loved the attention to detail such as the homemade flapjacks and the fruit bowl in the hall. Very good breakfast menu & very comfortable beds. I recommend Fir Trees wholeheartedly.

- Niamh (10/5): - Tim and Vicky are some of the best hosts Iāve stayed with. They really go above and beyond for guests. They dried our clothes after the rain, let us store our bikes in the shed and even gave us advice on where to go each day. Breakfast is cooked to order, and a great selection. Room is clean, modern bathroom and has everything youād need. Great location, half-way between Windermere and Bowness. Bonus points for the flapjacks which are made fresh daily.
