Guest Reviews
- Teresa (10/5): - If you’d like quiet and scenic, this place is for you. Wonderful hospitality, food was excellent also.
- Jane (10/5): - We very much enjoyed the lounge area and talking with other guests. The food was good. The staff mostly were very pleasant. And we very much enjoyed our tasting. Thank you.
- Tanja (10/5): - Sleeping in a distillery was awesome! Everyone was very friendly and helpful answering our questions. A complimentary whiskey in a room was a pleasant surprise. Island is very walkable and views are amazing. The only downside is room was on a small side but it worked for us since we had two smaller bags. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends.
- Sarah (10/5): - Absolutely stunning property and the staff could not have been kinder or more helpful. What a unique experience and quintessentially Scottish!
- Gerard (8/5): Holiday stay - Nicely done rooms in the distillery. Room was comfortable and had amazing view. Price was a bit high for the level offered and it was disappointing that the restaurant is closed mid week as the dining experience next door is not to be recommended.
- Carolyn (10/5): - Unique
- Tricia (10/5): - Phenomenal place to stay. Isle of Raasay Distillery is a really neat community project and it has community themes included in all the designs of the building, bottles, etc. Everyone is very friendly, the food is amazing, and the rooms are comfortable. This place is still young so I'm excited to see how it's doing in the next 5-10 years!
- David (10/5): - Very unique property, from the ferry trip to Raasay to the distillery tour that was included with our stay to the delicious full breakfast. Definitely recommend
- Christopher (10/5): Excellent stay - The rooms here were very cozy and comfortable. We had a lovely breakfast and free distillery tour/tasting. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Scenery around the hotel was gorgeous and unforgettable.
- Geoffrey (10/5): - This place is a real find. The rooms are all modern, comfortable, quite, clean and stylish. The food was outstanding. Staff was super friendly and helpful. A great spot for a natural getaway with lovely walks.
- Toby (10/5): Luxury stay on a paradise island - The views from the distillery over to Skye are incredible. The bedroom was spacious, comfortable, clean and luxurious. Breakfasts were delicious, and the option of a packed lunch and a private chef on Sundays when everything else on the island is closed, is a masterstroke, and amazing value. We loved this place, and our nights on Raasay were a wonderful change of pace from how busy Skye was - we would recommend the distillery to anyone looking for a luxury break on a beautiful island, and we will endeavour to come bacm at some stage.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent stay and even better view. This place showcases all that is good about Scotland in one place
- Mark (8/5): - Very nice, very clean.
- Conny (10/5): - Riktigt bra standard. Miljön på var faktiskt, vilken utsikt. Åker gärna tillbaka.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Unusual accommofstion and a memorable stay - This is a really amazing place to stay . We had an accessible room on the ground floor . The distillery /hotel is an old building which has been completely refurbished using attractive light wood . The view of the sea and Skye from the Gathering Room is amazing . It's well worth doing a distillery tour during your stay too .
Very good buffet breakfast . Highly recommended .
- Rich (10/5): - Fantastic property, perfect hospitality!
Wow, what a beautiful spot.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great service, very warm friendly staff. Comfortable accommodation with a great view.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The original room we were given was very hot. Luckily there was a no show and the staff gave us their room. The staff was excellent, helping with our luggage. It seems that when we book via Expedia, we are given the least desirable room. Also when rooms say they have A/C, they often do not. My wife has MS and it is medically necessary for her to have A/C. It puts her at risk when we book a room that does not have an accurate description.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful property on island. Unique experience. Very quiet and peaceful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful view. Would be helpful if the hotel emailed ahead saying if you want to eat on the Isle of Raasay, then you must make reservations at the Raasay House for dinner at least one day in advance. We ended up eating at a bar before boarding ferry because there was no space at the restaurant.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It would have been nice to have had a tour around the distillery included for guests rather than having to pay extra to go around, but apart from that this hotel is fabulous! Amazing scenery from the public areas. Staff all very nice and helpful. Would definitely visit again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff and the room were amazing!!! Wish we had time to stay longer!
- Paul (8/5): - The only thing that could have better was communication prior to arrival, unless you are familiar with the location you may not realize you to catch a ferry and the last run on Sunday’s is at five, just glad we made it in time.
- Gordon (10/5): A really lovely Island - One night on the island (which I'd never been to before) was not enough. Although it's a small island there's a lot to see and do. Ideal for walking or cycling (MTBs would be best for the various tracks). The island had a special 'feel' about it, a positive one! Calum's road's worth a trip!!!
- Stephen (10/5): - Beautiful room and beautiful view, free upgrade too. 10/10
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing location, friendly staff, and a great room and views.
- Colin (10/5): Unique opportunity - Fascinating to stay in the distillery. Very stylish place. You can eat next door at Raasay House.
- PingYuan (10/5): Great stay. - It’s an excellent hotel with good breakfast and service. We also enjoyed the distillery tour as well.
- Akhil (10/5): - It was a very well maintained property and very comfortable. Great location and views.
- Stephen (10/5): Highlands hidden gem! - On our 21 day Scotland journey this was a highlight! The island of Raasay was a beautiful hidden gem with walks and nature vistas hard to match. The hotel itself had an outstanding breakfast with breath taking views right out the front windows. The whiskey is still coming along but the options they have in house are both varied and excellent. I can not over emphasis how restful , peaceful and comfortable our stay here was. The highlight was the staff whether it was the front desk or the breakfast staff or the knowledgeable whiskey tour leaders they went the extra mile. Once news of this place gets out to the world it will be a long wait list to get in here. Don't wait for this gem!! We will hopefully return
- Trish (10/5): - Incredible views. Beautifully remodeled. Distillery tour was excellent. Guest lounge and breakfast were wonderful. I will definitely be returning.
- Patricia (10/5): Achtung Geheimtipp - Ein absoluter Geheimtipp!
- Maria (6/5): Poor value for money - The room (4) was clean and modern but lacked a wardrobe, drawers so we couldn't unpack. The TV was wall mounted, the only chair in the room was a small rocking chair, from the bed you couldn't watch the TV in comfort as it was set to one side on the wall opposite. For the cost per night I would have expected a larger room with a view, we had a view of the roof of the distillery. Breakfast was continental which was sufficient but general facilities for food in the evening was poor, the only place was Raasay House which residents got the prime booking times for tables so it was either eat early or late. We didn't do the distillery tour as we felt that given we were there for 3 nights although the tour was only a small fee each it would have been a nice gesture to offer this complimentary to guests given the room rate.
- Bryan (10/5): - It was fun to stay in a distillery. The smell of malted barley was amazing!
- amy (10/5): - I would stay here again as soon as possible! The staff are more than helpful, they really take care of everyone. Staying in a distillery also has perks!
Goed ontbijt, mooie kamer.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The best place to stay in Raasay by far. Great breakfast. Professional and friendly staff. Beautifully decorated.
- Clare (10/5): Great stay. - Beautiful hotel and perfect setting. The staff are all so welcoming and chatty and the style of the hotel gives you so much peace and privacy. Highly recommended. Do the distillery tour as well - looking forward to 2020 to sample the Raasay whisky!
- Mary Ann (8/5): Incredible views and peaceful - Views are amazing and the staff go out of their way to make your stay the best possible.
