• Mati (10/5): Estupenda opción cerca de Reikjavik. - Estupendo apartamento muy nuevo y con un diseño muy cuidado. Consta de un espacio amplio que hace las funciones de dormitorio, estar y cocina, con un armario vestidor aparte y cuarto de baño. Es luminoso y con estupendas vistas. El apartamento dispone de todo lo necesario en cuanto a útiles de cocina, cafetera, tetera, vitro, microondas, etc. (creo que no tenía tostador de pan). Las instrucciones para el check-in y check-out fueron sencillas y eficaces. Una opción absolutamente recomendable que dispone de aparcamiento (el vehículo es necesario) y está muy cerca de Reikjavik. Como aspecto de mejora, la ducha podría tener una separación de vidrio.
• Merz (10/5): Sehr empfehelnswert, Lage Top! - Die Lage ist perfekt. Man ist schnell in Reykjavik und trotzdem ruhig und abgelegen. Die Aussicht aus dem Zimmer ist grandios. Liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Gastgeberin sehr zuvorkommend.

• B. (8/5): Schöne Lage nahe Reykjavik - Schönes Haus mit unbezahlbarem Blick auf Bessastadir, den Wohnsitz der isländischen Präsidentin, und die Hallgrimskirkja. Pferde auf der Koppel, Möwen auf dem Dach. Das kleine Studio Apartment hat den Vorteil, dass es von den anderen beiden Wohneinheiten getrennt ist- also hat man keine lauten, nervigen Nachbarn. Bei Regen war zweimal der Strom inkl. Internet weg. In Bettnähe wären kleine Ablagemöglichkeiten gut. Die Vorhänge sind nicht wirklich zur Abdunklung geeignet (siehe Foto). Im Bad war es dafür zu dunkel.

The surrounding area was mostly commercial or industrial. There was a short walk to a water area however it was through private property, which was not comfortable for us.

Quiet, peaceful view with many birds, surprising to find such a beautiful place conveniently located, not very far from Reykjavik (if you have a car). Very minor point : no mirror in the bathroom above the sink.

• Ian (10/5): Exceptional - I stayed here my with my partner over her birthday. It was surprise for her and we stayed a few days in this location. We loved this guest house so much, it was quiet and surrounded by beautiful nature and not too far away from Reykjavik by car. On our first night we could see the northern lights and had an amazing view on Reykjavik at night. The house was super cozy and warm, we felt right at home every time when we came from a day full of sightseeing in the cold. We would definitely come again! The only thing that bothered us were the guests in the nearby apartment as the TV was very loud, except for that everything was great.

• Viktoria (10/5): A lovely home away from home - It was probably the nicest apartman I've seen on holidays so far! We rented a car, for us it was in a lovely location , close to the centre but away from the noise with a nice view, also comes with free parking. The kitchen is well equipped if you want to whip some breakfast together before heading out. The host made us feel welcome and she was available if we had any questions :) the apartment is clean, bright, warm and nicely decorated. Good value for it's price. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone. It might not be everyone's cup of tea so I point it out ; one side of the wall in the bathroom is glass so you can see through, there is a blind if you want some privacy but it doesn't fully reach to the bottom 👀
• Tanisha (10/5): Absolutely stunning property with everything you need. Would pay big money to live here! - The location was perfect, about 15 mins from Reykjavík but other shops were much closer. The apartment was absolutely stunning and had a wonderful view. Very quiet and all the amenities you need such as a kitchenette with all utensils, washing machine, smart tv for Netflix etc. loved it! Can’t fault this place if I’m being honest, it was perfect!

Everyday there was a variation of foods and there was plenty for two. Above all we enjoyed everything and it was our first time experiencing geothermal heating. We were never cold.

The host was easy to contact and very responsive. Free parking is available on site. The apartment itself is quiet, warm and includes any amenity you might need.

The view out the studio apartment picture window is exceptional with the city skyline as well as the Presidents residence nearby.

• Olga (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment has an excellent location near Reykjavík, but in a quiet place with free parking. Everything you need is here, there are even binoculars for bird watching. The bed is very comfortable, the shower is large enough. There is a beautiful view from the apartment, which is somewhat spoiled by the huge grill, which would be better moved to another place.

The owner was very friendly, and checked with us to make sure we had everything we needed. We would highly recommend Eyvindarholt guesthouse to anyone!

• Moritz (10/5): Top choice on the edge of Reykjavík - - The apartment is really fantastic - cosy, stylish and with a nice view. - Very responsive and reliable yet easy-going host. - Breakfast… yes, recommended. The only thing, which seems to be usual in Nordic countries, is that the bathroom is on the utilitarian side, with little room to move. That said, it is impeccably clean and functional.

• Edward (10/5): A good base for a stay in the city area. - This is a beautiful spacious place for the 2 of us, with expansive views from the back of the building out across a very large meadow toward Reykjavik with the mountains in the distance. Great to see the changing skies of Iceland. We had a rented car and I would say it is the best way to get here. It is about 15 to 20 min drive into town on good roads. There are a couple of other units in the building. We did not order the breakfast. We bought some light breakfast items at the grocery store. There is a small fridge and expresso machine in the lovely kitchen. We stayed 3 nights and it was a good base if you prefer to be slightly outside the city. A unique modern building. This was good for our needs.
• Leesutton (10/5): Outstanding 2nd stay at Eyvindarholt! - This is our second visit to Eyvindarholt and it was exceptional! Everything as we remember though this time we had the larger apartment which was furnished to an extremely high standard. The breakfast in particular was perfect and exemplary service from host Aslaug, able to accommodate a slightly early check in for us. Location is perfect. We will be sure to return again!
• Ibrahim (10/5): Would definitely stay here again! - First of all I love Scandinavian interior design and we stayed in the studio apartment and the view of the sea was incredible and the accommodate is situated in an ideal spot as not far from airport or from Reykjavík. The owner also went the extra mile by delivering breakfast and we were able to change the breakfast the next morning too, nothing was too much for her.

And even had a washing machine which we did t need as had just arrived but would have been ideal st our next place. Breakfast for hubby was exceptional, more than enough for one person and had a varied & creative flare from Aslaugh. A very lovely lady who took time to be chatty in the mornings if you wanted. Well located only 15min drive from Reykjavik yet out in the countryside next to the geese and snipe. Was lovely watching them at 1am in the summer dim crossing the road with all their gooslings onto the safety of the loch. The temporary second bed was very comfortable & set up in the kitchen area for my son and although there were blinds and black out curtains he found the skylight window in the living room shone bright and the fridge was noisy cutting on and off.
• Margaret (7/5): Nice place with a welcoming host. - Kind, friendly greeting by the host, who was very helpful and accomodating. Bed was comfortable, kitchen well-equipped. The unit had a nice view. Lovely suburban loop hike nearby. Convenient location to Reykjavik if you have a car. I was in the upstairs "seaview" unit and could hear my downstairs neighbors as clearly as if they were in they were sitting right next to me. I could even hear one of them snoring all night. They were up late, and up early so I had no quiet time. They were talking at a normal volume but the sound carried like crazy. This was disappointing. Not a great spot if you are noise sensitive, like I am.

And the breakfast which is delivered to your door each morning is sublime and extensive. Cake bread meat cheese eggs yoghurt as examples. If you stayed here too long you’d need 2 seats on the plane to get off the island. Wonderful and absolutely faultless

• Lori (10/5): Great place to stay - Great little place with a beautiful view of Reykjavik; it's too bad that it means too much city light for seeing the Aurora. Liked the easier access to the south-eastern section of Iceland. Beautiful breakfast brought to our room with warm bread just baked; the way to my heart. The bus stop is right out front, too. They also have a microwave, which has been unusual to find in the rooms to rent across Iceland. The proprietor is quite thoughtful.

• Serious (10/5): It’s an excellent apartment but fairly expensive. 9.5/10 - Studio Apartment at Guesthouse Eyvindarholt, 225 Álftanes, near Reykjavik – in the foreground it looks towards the attractive Bessastadir, State Government Office where the President lives, Reykjavik is in the distance (20 minutes by car). The apartment is very well equipped and only missing 3 of my 16 criteria – a desk with a suitable chair and a freezer section in the fridge. Breakfast is included and consists of orange juice, yogurt, egg, fresh bread and jam, cheeses, cold meats, apple or other fruit, a slice of cake. A delightful host.

It was very well appointed, clean, cozy, had an amazing view, was easy to get to, and had a sweet cat to greet us. Aslaug is a wonderful host and serves a delicious and filling breakfast.

• Dennis (10/5): Amazing stay worth of every penny! - This B&B was amazing, everything what’s needed was there: nice kitchenette, separate little room for your suitcases, comfortable bed and overall everything was clean, in style and thought-through! A separate star goes to breakfast - it was delicious! Great food and on both days we had a different breakfast offer🫶 Also, you have a stunning view out of the window and can watch birds and enjoy beautiful sunsets/ sunrises! We’d come back anytime!

The room was beautifully decorated and I had an amazing view of the Icelandic President's official residence and Hallgrimskirkja. The room I was very quiet and well equipped. My only regret is that I couldn't spend more time at the guesthouse!

• Yahya (10/5): Relaxing, and everything I would expect from top class place. - Breakfast was fit for a king. Excellent selection and an abundance of it. If you're looking to be outside of the city, then this place is for you. The city is only a quick 15 mins drive away. If you're looking to get away but still be around people and close to the city then this place is it. The host was accessible via text and booking.com messaging, and she was very accommodating. Our last day we had to leave quite early, so she packed our breakfast for the day and gave it to us the night before. Nothing to complain about.

Will hopefully return to - Absolutely beautiful location with views over the fields and sea , lots of birds (geese, ravens, oystercatchers etc) to observe from the window. Bright and super cosy. The beads were very comfortable. Everything was also spotlessly clean. We had a little kitchen that we didn’t end up using simply because we were out all day and returned late or ate out, but you could easily cook as simple meal yourself. Supermarket 8 minutes drive away is open 24/7. Bit outside of Reykjavik but I prefer quieter areas and this was perfect. The best was the homemade breaking Áslaug every morning with freshly baked break, cakes, fruits, eggs, jam, juice. Have never stayed in any hotel or BnB with breakfast that good. Áslaug was super friendly and kind and nothing was too much bother. We had to leave very early to get our flight so she left us some breakfast the evening before. nothing really. it was expensive but for Iceland prices probably not. totally worth it and would book again.
• Michelle (5/5): Apartment is not sound proofed. Host listened to our conversations & used personal info against us - The beds are comfy and the breakfast is varied. The noise from the apartment above us was really loud, you could clearly gear there conversations. The walls are very thin. The host messaged me after my stay to say that she found a crack in the window and did not accept it when I said that there had been no accident during our stay. She then called me low and immoral and got personal about my son (15 years old) who is transgender. The only way that the host could have known is listening to our conversations. It's intrusive, unprofessional and discriminatory. I do not recommend that you get on the wrong side of this host.
• Bruce (10/5): A wonder place to relax and enjoy all the Reykhavik area has to offer. - Location was just outside of Reykjavik.....quiet away from all the city noise but only minutes to the down town area. Wonder views including the President of Icelands estate close by....The owner made a custom and varied breakfast including her home made bread. All excellent. I would also say she was most engaging and interesting. A wonderful person to enjoy a conversation with to learn about Iceland and all its attractions. I didnt like that I couldnt have stayed longer.
