• Kristina (8/5): Cute suites, would be great for a longer stay. - Cute suites, bed was comfortable. Biggest issue is the bathroom sink. It was too small to really wash anything bit your hands, and even then it made a mess. The plig in the bathroom did not work, so I had to dry and curl my hair in the bedroom, bit there was no mirror. No end table on one side, so no where to charge their phone and leave a drink. No place to put luggage.... It's a cute place... just needs some convenience additions.

The continental breakfast remained open most of the day and also open very early morning hours as it was race weekend the next town over. So thoughtful. The fridge, microwave and coffee machine, in our room, was useful. Plenty of towels and extra blankets. A great stay! We will come again!

• Ann (8/5): - Nice room. I arrived late at night after attending a family event 30 miles away. No staff on site at check-in or at check-out. They texted me a code to enter my room, which worked fine - but my guess is they use the same codes over and over again. If that's the case - it's totally unsafe. Parking is pretty limited on the property - I was happy to find ONE space available when I pulled in. The floor in the room could have been cleaner - it was gritty/dirty, and I kept my socks on. The bathroom would not be comfortable for anyone with mobility issues or who is larger - the toilet and tub are wedged into a very small space. Plenty of room where the sink, microwave, coffee maker are. All in all - an OK stay and I would stay again, but know what you're getting.

• Carla (6/5): - It was an okay stay. There wasn’t much space to set down luggage or even a place to sit down except on the beds. It lacked a bathroom large enough to privately change clothes. Not too impressed.
• Carlton (10/5): Fun little stay - Room was very clean. Everything was ready to go check in was so easy had no problems the entire week. They’re downtown area was within walking distance from our hotel.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Not a good stay - The heater smelled terrible when turned on so we had to shut it off and warm up with blankets. The shower curtain needed to be replaced as there was mold and stains on the bottom of it. The coffee carafe was half full of water and not cleaned. It was not worth the money we payed.

• Brittany (10/5): Nice for the family - Our second time staying at Coastal Suites, this time with the kids. They had fun picking snacks from the office and borrowing a board game to play. It was nice to have two separate bedrooms for when they fell asleep and a small kitchen for breakfast in the morning. I don’t think our room was anywhere near the 900+ sf as advertised, but it was fine.

Only 2 small complaints; the 4 pillows were all overstuffed, which made them great for sitting up in bed, but impossible to use for sleep, and the small refrigerator’s compressor made loud noises every few hours.
• TJ (10/5): Highly recommend! - We had a great expey. We booked this place last minute but it had everything we needed plus more. The service was quick and friendly. The water had an off scent but I don't hold that against the property.

• Ellen (6/5): - This motel is so overpriced. It was basically a converted garage-like structure behind an old motel converted into units a person can check into themselves. The space smelled overwhelming like some sort of nauseating chemical perfume and the walls and door were dirty and punctured in one spot. Bonus was a coffee maker, lol, that’s how little it has going for it.

• Abby893 (4/5): Not open to emergency travel changes...read the policies carefully. - Reserved one night Friday stay on way back from Upper Peninsula trip. I had to cancel early Friday morning from Hospital in Duluth due to accident. Received confirmation cancellation was received, "sorry to hear that". Billing proceeded for unused room. 2 separate emails questioning charge and requesting refund or credit for a future stay. Disputed charge, declined because host said the room was provided. Moving on...their resort, their rules.

• Kristen (10/5): - This was me and my husband's 3rd stay at Coastal Suites, and it is our favorite place to stay when we're in the area. The suite we stay in is spacious, comfortable, and relaxing. The host responded promptly when we sent a message with a question. It's just a short walk to Crystal Lake and there are plenty of places to eat and shop within walking distance. We will definitely stay at Coastal Suites every time we travel to the area!

The room is very clean and comfortable for the price. Only thing is the complimentary breakfast, no food refill and also one bag of bread is old with some mold.

In off season (December). Beds were all comfortable, great was great, water was hot, great sheets and linens. Well equipped kitchen. Great space to hang out. Very comfortable.

• Brenda (8/5): - The property was clean! We stayed in the loft which was super cute. No one to help or assist you on premises. We were locked out of our room one night late for an hour due to keyless entrance malfunction which was very frustrating. The room wasnt ready till an hour after checkin due to housekeepers being behind on cleaning. However the were very kind and helpful for sure. The lobby has all kinds of snacks, kuerig, drinks, bagels & toast. Overall really super adorable little place. Would stay again!
• Everett (2/5): - The room was not clean before I arrived at 6 pm. The bed wasn't made, garbage in the trash can, wet wash rags on the counter. There is not table to set at and work just not a good experience. I would not recommend.

• Ashley (8/5): - Loved the property. Our room was super cute. Bed was comfy. Only thing we didnt like was there was no desk staff. Thank god the cleaning ladies were there. They had just finished the room we were staying in. We had a wedding to go to so we needed to check in change and leave. Luckily they were able to tell me what room we were in and the code to get in. I never saw anyone at the desk our whole stay. Kinda werid but luckily it all worked out. We would still stay here again tho. Loved the room and location.

• Nancy (6/5): Okay, with caveats - Overall OK. Beds comfortable, A/C worked great. Place was very clean, nice bedding and towels. Appreciated the full-size fridge. The location couldn’t be beat. Downsides, at least for us—the main (largest) burner on the stove was not functioning, which was annoying as we cooked breakfast for ourselves every day. The ‘mid-century modern’ couch was so lumpy and uncomfortable as to be nearly impossible to use. There was not even salt and pepper in the kitchen, and exactly 4 of each type of tableware and only 2 coffee cups. Skimpy for two, and there were 4 of us. There was a large dehumidifier running when we got there, with no instructions on whether to run it all the time, or at our convenience. Wi-Fi was spotty. Would consider again for our group, however, as one member has mobility issues, and it was one of the few rentals in the area on a single level with only 2 steps down to the entrance.

• Leah (10/5): Weekend Getaway - Our stay at Coastal In Suites was great. The room was comfortable, clean and the area was perfect! We will definitely be back!

• Robert (8/5): - This place was small and cozy like a BNB. Nice updated rooms with zero contact check in and a free cold breakfast. The only downsides were the room was super stuffy, even with the AC on, I'd recommend bringing a fan, the wifi was paaaainfukky slow, and there was a very loud group staying in one of the rooms that partied until 1am.
• Kina (8/5): Good room bad smell - The room was clean and wonderful. I would stay again. However, there was a door in the bathroom that was not in use, it attached to the room next to us. The people in the room were smoking marijuana and the smoke and smell came through under the door. We had young kids with us and had to keep them from the only bathroom due to the smell. This was disheartening since everything else was wonderful.

• Alyssa (4/5): - My husband and I were very disappointed in the property itself. The staff was accommodating and got us in for an early check in which was very much appreciated. However- the pictures online make the place itself look a lot more upscale than it is. We paid over $300 for one night in a King Suite. The room was extremely small and the bathroom was the size of a bathroom on an airplane. The decor was modern and up to date but was overall disappointed in the quality of the room for the price we paid. I will say- the bed was comfortable though!

The beach was only a few steps away and so serene and private. There is a bbq and outdoor dining table we will use on our next visit. Perfect spot. Thanks!
• Angela (8/5): Nice play to stay for a few nights - Place was very clean, recently remodeled, new towels, well stocked kitchen. Downsides are that the cold and hot are switched on the both the kitchen sink and the bathroom faucets. Bathroom is tiny so if you are a larger person so you might not be very comfortable. 4 short blocks to walk to the beach and center of town while in a quiet neighborhood.

Property is nicely to maintained with a very nice outdoor patio of bbq with tools avail as no Wed for anyone’s use, picnic table, big umbrella, chairs, couch, 2 fire tables. Help yourself continental breakfast convenient snd always available. AC worked well. We were in room 6 and it looked like hGTV—very pretty. But no horizontal surfaces for our suitcases until staff kindly brought us 2 suitcase stands. Plenty of towels but no towel bars to hang damp linen and no fan in bathroom after shower. WiFi barely reached outside of lobby (maybe boosters would help it reach to cabins 6 and 7). Therefore, the tv did lots of spooling; it was difficult to watch anything.
• Tabitha (10/5): - Great location to visit other northern Michigan cities. Walkable to the downtown area.
• Dale (8/5): - Comfortable enough but not luxury, beds decent, no body wash in the dispenser. Plenty of towels and tp in case we needed. Its an old place but updates are satisfactory. The AC unit was unable to dehumidify the air so it always felt damp and that was uncomfortable in the room. Good location. Office/ grab and go food area very nice but not stocked with much for protein for diabetics or low carb eaters. Appreciate the water, coffee, and ice maker to fill our water bottles! Staff is excellent (I happened to meet owner accidentally).

• Kim (8/5): - Room was wonderful; clean and almost brand new in appearance. Continental breakfast was bad. Limited choices of food. They had Keurig coffeemaker that was non-functional, so no coffee. Never saw any staff persons. The office looked like an addition to a hotel room.

• Stephanie (2/5): I would sooner stay in my car than stay here - Rarely do I stay somewhere that is really bad, but this place was. The people above our room were loud from 12-1am and then again from 2-3:30 and I mean loud, stomping and just all together insanely loud. Since you have a lockbox entry (weird in itself) and a text to tell you the code, you assume no one is there to help. Also our room smelled like weed for about 2 hours bc people smoking right in front of our unit and the AC was recirculating the stinky air. The bathtub was so dirty. The place was so moldy/ wet smelling that literally the sheets stunk. I reached out to the texter that gave me the code and complained, and was not given any kind of refund for the $300+ I spent. Total waste of money!

Would have enjoyed a table and couple of chairs outside the room on the deck to sit outside since there was nowhere in the room to sit other than the beds. Overall a pleasant experience and would stay there again.
