Guest Reviews
- Ranid (10/5): - Beautiful, old hotel/lodge with character. All was clean, warm and cozy. Staff were friendly and helpful. And...great location/views of the Lukla Airstrip i.e. just above it.
- Parwinder (2/5): - The bad. Our room wasn't as nice as the photos. A mouse crawled over me, I saw it and woke up to mouse droppings over the bed! The toilet flush wasn't working but I fixed it myself. The electricity was switched off to the room, deliberately during the night.
The good. The common restaurant area as nice.
- Paul (8/5): - I hope that tourism Comes back to Nepal. The Sherpa guides and all the hotel, restaurant and shops need it drastically. Lukla is just a prime example.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The building outside is beautiful. The rooms are overpriced, freezing. Food is just ok. Staff not friendly or helpful. No hot water.
- Ilona (8/5): Lovely lodge literally above the airport - After 15 days of trekking in the mountains, had to spend an extra night in Lukla. Not included in my package anymore, so the first night I had to arrange myself. The town is full of lodges, but I just wanted something a little bit better than what is available in the mountains after 15 days. Only a few lodges were on hotels.com. This seemed like the best option, so reserved the room online just 5 min before heading to the lodge. Checking in took some time, which is understandable, as I was the first customer ever to book online through any service at all. They didn't have any info on my booking, but as there were rooms available, they let me have one once I presented the documents on the booking.
The room was much nicer than in most lodges in town or up the mountain, although of course equally also more expensive, but still very reasonably priced. Apparently I got a room which was even one step better than what I had paid for. There was hot water from my own shower, so I could finally have a shower in my own attached bathroom, clean towels also included as well as toilet paper and free charging, unlike in most lodges. Very beautiful and nicely decorated dining room as well as garden with flowers.
Best of all, great view towards the Lukla airport and airstrip - without even getting up from bed, you can see directly from your window in the morning whether the flight is going to go or not, so do take this lodge if you're stuck in Lukla waiting for the flight back home!
