• Schaeper (8/5): Grand charm in a great location - Ortigia is a great town and the apartment is in a good location in a quaint street near the water, restaurants, shops and landmarks. The water view is good. The apartment is very spacious and nicely styled. There are some good inclusions like an iron, ironing board and kitchen The apartment has so much potential, some small improvements would make it a 10/10. Some areas of the apartment were dirty, mainly the kitchen and kitchenware. The rustic charm was a bit too rustic in places with peeling paint and rusty shower area. There was a waterproof cover on the mattress making the bed hot and sweaty and uncomfortable.

• David (7/5): - The location was extremely good. Right on Calla Rossa Beach and a short walk to the main piazza. Great location and the staff were very good. The rooms were a little dark and the larger room was a bit musty. The rooms also weren't connected so you had to go outside to enter the 2nd apartment. The smaller apartment was great for a couple but the larger room wasn't great for a family. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable.

• Germain (9/5): Appartement très bien situé à Ortigia - Localisation géniale, dans une rue pas trop agitée au centre d’Ortigia. Il y a évidemment un peu de marche depuis le parking (la presqu’île est interdite aux véhicules de touristes), mais ça reste très facile d’accès. Grandes et belles pièces décorées avec goût, appartement globalement bien équipé (grande table, cuisine, machine à laver le linge) (voir toutefois ci-dessous). Petite cour intérieure à disposition. La personne qui nous a reçus le premier jour était agréable. Notre petit regret tient à l’état général de l’équipement, qui avait clairement ‘fait son temps’. Les chaises, les lits, le canapé et les chaises / table de la cour intérieures étaient très usés. La Clim n’a pas très bien fonctionné durant notre séjour (elle avait du mal à baisser la température). Une mise à jour sur ce point et notre séjour aurait été parfait.
• Evelyn (8/5): Great stay in beautiful Ortigia! - Ortigia is stunning, the apartment is in the perfect location close to a gorgeous beach, restaurants, shops cafes. It’s very spacious and great to have 2 bathrooms. The internal courtyard is lovely. There is a supermarket 7min walk away with a deli.. don’t miss the mini mart next door to the cafe on beach front for sundowners! If you go left out of apartment, 5 mins walk towards the beach there is a fantastic little cafe/ restaurant with the most lovely owners and delicious food called Cala Piada. A Putia was fantastic was dinner or lunch, beautiful food, no booking just wait, so get there early. And at the market Borderi another favourite for best value largest paninis! ( 1 panini for 2 people!). As a few others have mentioned best not to have a car, luckily we retuned our hire car in Ortigia the day we arrived.

• Callum (8/5): Ortigia on your doorstep - Excellent location and proximity to a popular swimming beach. Ortiga is very small and walkable. There is one bus which circles the island about every 15 minutes. If parked in the garage, look for the red bus stop sign attached to the furthest garage entrance. The cost is 1.50 euro which can be paid on the bus by cash or card. The bus will stop outside of the apartment. The apartment is spacious and accommodates two very well. They left water and soft drinks upon arrival. It was evident the floors were not cleaned as there was dirt, hair, and pebbles in the main room and kitchen. The shower was also clogged. We found the bed and pillows very hard.

Excellent information about restaurant choices and Ortigia history. Spacious studio area, with kitchenette. Good pillows. Friendly host. Bed mattress was a little "lumpy", hard and uncomfortable...pillows nice. No soap dish in shower - no big deal but a point of difference.

• Paul (9/5): Authentic location, Ortiga is fabulous. Highly recommended. - Great location near the water with a beautiful view from the window. Excellent facilities with a great bathroom and plenty of space. If driving you can park in the Talete car park and get a 5 min bus ride almost outside your door. Easy walks to the whole island and restaurants. It can be a bit noisy outside but really it actually adds to the atmosphere. Would be nice to have a washing machine but there is a wash tub.

• Paul (8/5): Great location for visit to Ortigia - Fantastic location, near sea and swimming area, piazzas, restaurants and bars, shops; spacious, good outdoor patio, two bathrooms, comfortable bed and couches. Air conditioner in each area, which was good. Two pillows per person would be better. Tv did not work but we did not really need it (and it was located in strange position with nowhere to sit to watch it). One shower head would not stay up so had to use by hand.

• Ben (9/5): Very good stay on a beautiful island, would stay again. - Very clean apartment, location is fantastic with a direct view of the coast from the window. Spacious and airy with good air conditioning so great for hot summer days. Only real downside was the light in the hall, it was difficult to lock/unlock the door, though the door does go straight out into one of the main streets in ortigia.

• Philippa (10/5): Great apartment in old town - Beautifully renovated old apartment on the sea front, with huge bedroom, excellent bathroom and a kitchen with everything we needed. The view was restricted, but the location was perfect, with easy access to a little beach and to the rest of Ortigia. Our host was excellent and very responsive when we asked for different pillows. Our only complaint was over-stuffed pillows, but we only needed to mention it, and new pillows were provided. The host was very kind, responsive, and accommodating.

• Julie (10/5): Absolutely wonderful - The apartment was so beautiful and spacious. It had an excellent view of the ocean from our window. There was a little rock beach 2 mins from us that we enjoyed. There were plenty of restaurants and little grocery shops within walking distance. Walking the island was truly incredible. Our apartment was a 30m walk from the train station. And 40m from the archeological park. The stay was incredible and I would definitely recommend. The hot water tank was small so we had to make sure we conserved hot water which was fine but a bit of a surprise the first night when I went to shower and it went cold after 8 mins.

The photos showed multiple apartments, but our apartment was exactly as photographed. The sleeper couch was uncomfortable and maybe best only for children. The regular bed was comfortable. The warm water didn't last for an entire shower.

• Jane (9/5): A relaxing and comfortable place with a great location. - This is a little gem with an excellent location near the Arethusa fountain, the cathedral and a little beach, Cala Rossa. But what makes it exceptional is the thoughtfulness and kindness of the hosts. Our flight was delayed and we arrived after 1am but Lucio and Titti were still there to meet us. Not only that, they gave us a lift to the apartment after explaining that the island was in lockdown for a presidential summit. The accommodation is comfortable, surprisingly spacious, well equipped and tastefully furnished. It is a little dark inside, but given the heat outside (even in September,) this was quite welcome and a pleasant, internal courtyard was always bathed with light. One of the two showers didn’t drain very well, but it was a treat to have 2 bathrooms.

We were literally a minute from the little beach and had lots of restaurants, bars and a shop for provisions close by. It also wasn't far to walk into the centre of Ortigia - the location couldn't have been any better! There really wasn't anything that I could criticise. We had a problem with construction work in the apartment above on the first morning but our hosts contacted the owner and made sure we were not bothered with any noise for the rest of our stay. The owners were quick to respond and were very helpful, especially as this was not something that was their fault.

The position was really helpful, close to bars and restaurants and close to the sea. • Renate (10/5): We received a lot of personal attention and assistance which really made our arrival smooth, our stay so enjoyable, and - The location was truly extraordinary! Everything was outside our door or a pleasant stroll through the historic lanes away. The apartment is incredibly spacious, something one would never expect on Ortigia. It is house-housed, with two bathrooms and even an indoor court yard. A washing machine complete with detergent was very appreciated after being on the road for a month. we could have done with an extra cake of soap! But that’s the only thing I can think of. Everything was perfectly clean and as described.

• Samuel (6/5): Overall we had a great time mainly due to the location, but the place itself is not the very nicest. - The apartment is in a great location - which matters a lot. In this sense, it was perfect. The host was brief but polite, also great. The apartment was spacious and clean, and good from a practical standpoint for smaller children, with no stairs. The appartment is not very cozy. It is at street level with entrance directly from the street and all windows facing directly to the street. Also resulting in being dark despite the inner terrace, which was nice. The terrace was however also a bit dark and noicy, with some machine always humming in the background and a loud noice every time anyone in the buidling flushes the toilet. Overall we had a great time mainly due to the location, but the place itself is not the very nicest.

• Geraldine (10/5): Lovely apartment in perfect location - The location was perfect for Restaurants and Bars. I thought the apartment was really quaint. It was really clean. My only criticism is the shower wasn’t very powerful but that was a minor concern.

• Clare (10/5): Wonderful historic and charming place to staff in Ortigia - Wonderful historic property in the heart of Ortigia, tucked down a side street but close to everything. Huge open plan bedroom and kitchen in original palazzo, beautifully decorated and very comfortable with everything that you need in the kitchen if self catering. Quite magical to explore the winding cobbled streets of this old town with a great array of restaurants and shops and return here. Great location on the sea front. Parking is a good 15 mins away on foot so bear in mind if you have a heavy case, as one way system and very limited parking mean you can’t park close by. Lovely hosts who were great in posting back to us clothes that my partner left behind in a drawer!!

• Angela (9/5): Great location & price 👍🏼 - * Great Location * Sea view * Well equipped kitchen with everything you need. * comfortable large bed * complimentary drinks / coffee / tea * Very clean * good value for money * Don’t like to give negative comments however the lady checking us in wasn’t exactly welcoming... she seemed thoroughly fed up. I work in hospitality so I know how hard it can be dealing with language differences etc, however a smile and welcoming disposition transcends any language barrier. 😉

The space was much bigger than expected and really well decorated with a mix of old and new pieces. The check-in was flexible and the person that greeted us was friendly & helpful. A bit of road noise and some noise from a nearby construction site. But that's being picky.
