• Valérie (10/5): Un magnifique séjour, relaxant dans un endroit magique - Magnifique séjour dans cet hôtel. Le personnel est vraiment exceptionnel, au petit soin, toujours le sourire. Les chambres sont spacieuses, très propres. L'endroit est très calme et ressourçant. Les activités organisées se sont très bien déroulées, toujours à l'heure et très agréable. Le restaurant est vraiment super, la qualité des mets est incroyable, nous avons mangé des spécialités et c'était vraiment délicieux. Le sauna normal est uniquement ouvert le matin, le sauna au feu de bois ainsi que le jaccuzzi sont uniquement ouvert sur réservation et payant. Un peu dommage. Il faudrait pouvoir réserver une plage horaire d'une heure par jour compris dans le prix de l'hotel.

Comfortable, cosy, and lovely location on an iced-in island far enough out of town to feel remote but close enough to do the more touristy things. Overall it exceeded our expectations. Our failure, because of weather conditions, to see the Northern Lights. Another time!

The hotel is in a great location - handy to centre of town and airport - yet still gives the full wilderness experience and ample spot to see the Northern Lights. A bucket list hotel !!! nothing. There are no facilities for a 5 star hotel and sauna was 300 euros to use exceto for one hour a day set up by Staff previously when they decide. • Liane (10/5): Magical place - cannot recommend highly enough! - Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The setting is magical. Everything is beautifully designed. The staff are so lovely and went out of their way to help us with anything we could have possible needed. The chef is a genius - the food was exquisite! The complimentary sauna, the library and soul pharmacy are such lovely additions. The room is beautifully designed and has everything you need - I especially loved the reading nook with the chaise! The views from the property are stunning with everything covered in pure white snow, including the rivers. My favourite thing was walking across the bridge to get to/from the island: in the day time it provides sensational views, and at night time it is lit by candles and fairy lights and feels like a true wonderland. We had the best time - thank you! The only thing is that the twin beds are very small (narrow). The mattress was comfortable but turning over was a challenge!

Queria ficar 30 dias aí e curtir mais sem me preocupar com os poucos dias que fiquei.
• Andrea (10/5): Picture perfection. 10/10 stay of such a high quality hotel. - Where do I start!! We loved every single thing about our stay here. How very special to stay at a private island, it was simply magical. Every single day waking up to a winter wonderland. The staff made us feel very welcome and they were so friendly. The rooms were warm and cosy and we loved the neutral colour scheme, the bed and pillows were like sleeping on a cloud. We made use of both sauna’s, wood and electric and loved the sitting area of the wood sauna and the outdoor hot tub. The food was next level and of such a high standard and service. We couldn’t wait every morning and evening to eat :) The walk across the bridge was such a highlight for us and we saw the Aurora too on our walk back to our room after dinner one night. We were happy to be a little away from the main area of Rovaniemi and it was easy to call a taxi. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay and there is no where else I would stay when we return. Absolutely nothing and out of a six week trip with numerous hotel stays all over Europe and Asia this was by far our favourite

Les chambres sont tres confortables et grandes. Le dîner en demi pension est imposé, pas de choix d entree ni de plats, ni dessert. Il manque un bar ou on puisse prendre un thé et un apéritif avant le dîner. Très peu d activités sur place.

The ambiance inside the suite really compliments the stunning view, the snowfall felt like a winter wonderland. The private island feels special, very new, clean and cared for. All of the staff are wonderful. The chef personally attends the table to explain the meal, adding to a unique experience. The food is exquisite. The chef completely catered to a gluten free guest, exceptional food and stunning dining location. The library with a fire and drinks is super cute and inviting. • Nicola (10/5): Posto da favola - Aino Private Island è una struttura recente, molto curata, con l'attenzione al dettaglio in tutti gli ambienti, le camere hanno un bellissimo arredo e sono estremamente comode, l'attenzione per la pulizia e il comfort è ottima. L'ambiente esterno è spettacolare, l'hotel è dislocato su un'isola in mezzo ad un fiume, camere e ambienti comuni sono delle piccole casine esterne in legno dislocate sull'isola. Ti puoi ricavare dei momenti di relax nella soul pharmacy o di condivisione nella library Pavillion, con tanto di camino a legna da gestire in autonomia. Ci sono inoltre due saune, una elettrica e una tradizionale. Eccezionale la cucina nel caso si voglia sfruttare la mezza pensione o la pensione intera, il ristorante è aperto tutto il giorno, dalla colazione alla cena, servizio eccellente e piatti di alta qualità! Il posto è veramente eccezionale... esperienza fantastica! Per chi fa mezza pensione il menù è unico senza grandi possibilità di scelta, però la cucina è veramente ottima. Unico suggerimento, nel buffet della colazione metterei dei cartellini identificativi per ogni alimento.

• Kevin (7/5): First night- A gem at a fair price. - The first nights dinner and following breakfast were outstanding, 10/10 and could not be faulted, superb. Very comfortable beds. The second nights dinner was OK and breakfast service was very average with old coffee and a buffet which had been out a while. Considering there were only 4 guests in the hotel 6/10. Hated the floodlights everywhere - didn't need a light on to be able to read in bed.

Located on a private island, it created a perfect winter wonderland (we stayed in February) with a calm, pristine, and unique landscape by the frozen river. The staff were incredible—even before our arrival, they helped us book activities, making the experience completely hassle-free. The food was a true culinary experience—the bespoke three-course menu was absolutely marvelous, and breakfast offered a vast selection, including homemade vegan options. We probably ate the best bread of our lives here! Our stay was simply perfect. Plus, the hotel is being renovated to become an adults-only retreat, and we can’t wait to visit again in summer! Can’t think of a thing.

No words to describe how beautiful Aurora Island is, by far the best place I have travelled to. The accommodation is warm and cosy and has everything you need for a welcoming stay. Amazing for my teenage boys! Enough to do to keep them entertained! Including rolling about in the snow! A really magical holiday with plenty of memories!

Perfect breakfast set up and sauna. It was perfect. Only with the restaurant was open for dinner during summer.
• Berk (1/5): Terrible for holiday - nothing! It's one of the worst places I've ever stayed at, paying this level of money. As a result, we may need to check in early since we are arriving by plane. However, even though they have empty rooms, they charge an hourly fee for early check-in. But this is not a problem either. The rooms at the hotel are nice, although they have some problems. It is in a bad location and they help with transportation. To go to the city center, you have to pay an average of 30 EUR one way. One of the interesting issues is that they offer dinner service, but it is open buffet; Let's say they cook a meal like a salad and get paid for it. You can eat this meal unlimitedly, or you can eat in the city center by paying 60 EUR round trip. The choice is up to you. It is realy terrible. I paid 30 euros per person for a meal like potato salad. There is no bar or any activity you can do in your location. They have a small sauna and it is free and only open between 5 and 7 pm. If all the rooms come, they cannot use it. You may be going for a holiday, but you have to wake up in the morning because breakfast ends at 10 o'clock. And it is better to go to breakfast at 8 o'clock. They never renew what's left for breakfast. You can't drink hot tea, and whatever food is left may have to be gnawed like a mouse. There is a television in the room that you can view with a magnifying glass. If you get bored of the activities that are not available at the hotel, you can watch television with magnifying glass. A hotel that is definitely not worth the money they charge. Frankly, if I rented a house and stayed there, I would have more options and pay much less. On your check-out day, they don't hesitate to leave a plastic bag in front of your room, giving you the message to leave as soon as possible.
• Arnaud (10/5): Stunning Island Hotel and Great Breakfast - Absoluetly beautiful, remote enough so you really feel lost in Lapland. Great breakfast as well!

• Papu (10/5): Almost a magical place for a vacation. - Staying in a resort situated on an island in the middle of a frozen river in lapland is in itself magical. We loved everything about the resort.
• Vereb (9/5): All in all very nice! - The Breakfast was in a very nice atmosphere and the quality was very good. You get there everything what you need for breakfast... only thing was, that it will be a little bit late (starts from 8:30!), but you can order an early breakfast (we don't need it!)... all in all it was very nice! For dinner is it a little bit difficult, then you have some gluten/milk intolerance - you must go somewhere else...

• Ecp (10/5): A peaceful, relaxing break in beautiful natural surroundings. - Beautiful island location in a peaceful natural setting by a river, beautiful room, great friendly staff. I loved everything - but please note there isn’t a full restaurant/bar on site, is a lovely breakfast, small dinner offering (we were completely fine with as out all day on activities) but the small town 10 mins drive has few bars and some nice restaurants if you wanted some more options.
• Paul (5/5): The Shining comes to Rovaniemi - Situated on a private island 15 minutes from Rovaniemi, and reached by a footbridge the location is wonderful. Unfortunately, this is where the magic ends Aside from Kyle, the wonderful hotel receptionist, restaurant manager, guide and general dogsbody the hotel was empty of staff and had an almost "Shining-esque" feel about it. In our 3 day stay, we only met one other young member of staff. The restaurant, whilst warm and cosy inside only offers one choice per evening of no veggie option other than soup and salad). There is no hotel bar or relaxation area to add to the ambiance of what should be a wonderful place to stay or much information on local activities abd areas of interest. Rooms are comfortable, but designed strangely and in such a way as to not provide views of the wonderful surroundings. In room facilities are average and whilst there is an inside electric sauna, the traditional riverside, fire driven sauna was closed. All in all it felt that this hotel which was expensive, lacked proper management and had seen better days. It's most redeeming features were location and employee Kyle.

• Pountney (10/5): Exceptional - Run by lovely, really helpful and down to earth people. We did the ice plunging in the river, which was done professionally and safe. Good selection of the continental breakfast and had a nice homely hearty dinner, which we booked in the morning.
• Tim (8/5): Really enjoyed our stay - Beautiful chalets on a private lake about ten minutes drive from the city. Great sauna and ice swimming. Breakfast was limited.
• Haneen (7/5): Good - The view & the peaceful location. There is no coffee machine in the hotel unfortunately. So if you are a coffee addict like me, it might be a bit challenging.
• Bengü (8/5): Very good - View of the hotel was amazing If you dont have a car its expensive to go even 10 km to Santa Claus Village.

• Jiayi (10/5): Featuring stunning scenery and comfortable wooden houses - The location of this hotel is very good. Although it takes ten minutes to drive to Santa Claus Village, the environment is quiet and there are super beautiful scenery. My daughter really likes this wooden house and wants to stay here forever. Every afternoon from 4 to 6 o'clock, she can also enjoy a free Finnish sauna. The service is also very friendly, and the breakfast is also very delicious. Our family will stay here again next time we come No

• David (10/5): Spent our honeymoon in Hotel Vartiosaari, the place was excellent and the staff very helpful. - The hotel is on a small island approachable through a bridge, it is picturesque. There is a "kota" (traditional Finnish building) restaurant where breakfast and dinner is served. The rooms are well equipped and confortable. Public transportation to- and from the island is not great. I recommend you either plan activities with transportation incuded or rent a car. Hotel staff can help with transportation.

• Aa (8/5): Nice, but not good value for money - Great location 'in the nature' on tiny island, 15 min drive from not so pretty town of Rovaniemi (aprox €34 uber to Rovaniemi). Cozy restaurant. Nice rooms, although we didnt get any nice view from the window, just facing window of neighboring house. New,very clean. Nice breakfast. When arrived waited for 20 min for receptionist to appear, non of phone numbers were answering. Cleaning done only on request, when requested only beds were made up, not changed, towels were not changes, toiletries were not renewed. There are two saunas, real one and electric. Real one, as were told,take several hours to start, so they dont start it. Electric sauna should be booked in advance at additional €50 per person, although on the website it says that its included in room charge. Dinner is only fixed menu, so u cant choose,need to book it in the morning.

• Melxxxx (10/5): Beautiful - highly recommend!! - The setting was absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous snow and scenery. Very quite area. The rooms were stunning, had everything we needed. Very friendly, homely feeling. Its a family run hotel, the lady who was working the days we were staying was so friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to chat to our kids about there days trips and what plans they had when she would meet them outside. Taxis are about 30euro from the hotel to Santa Claus Village & City Centre. Food could of been a little better, not much options. But it didn't effect our stay.

He was really the only staff we interacted with and he was ver - It was really nice to be just outside the city with natural surroundings. The rooms are very basic but comfortable and the sauna is a big plus. No public transportation so if you don’t have a car you need to take a taxi.

The sauna is a wonderful and we did not have to share with anybody and was able to access it at anytime we wanted by just notifying the hotel via WhatsApp. I loved everything! The only thing I would have liked would have been a sauna and the lovely lady who runs the hotel is looking into this.
