Pool facilities were excellent with sun lounges and easy access to a pool bar. We loved the complimentary happy hour each evening that served delicious cocktails before dinner. Such a great idea! We visited their seafood restaurant on site but it had no vibe. We were the only patrons.

- Brian (10/5): - Can't recommend this place enough for anyone visiting the area. Staff were extremely welcoming and were very attentive to anything we needed. Originally had a pool view room but was upgraded to one with a sea view which was spectacular, however pool view rooms also looked very nice. Rooms were very spacious and had a comfortable bed, plenty of wardrobe space, excellent balcony with couch and chairs, bathroom with excellent shower and a heated toilet seat/bidet. Pool area was in excellent condition and the pool bar has a great selection of drink and food options. Also ate at the Taste restaurant which has a great selection of both local and western cuisine and also serves a great breakfast.

Hun fikk ikke lov å gå inn på rommet vårt den timen hun var her, og fikk ikke dusje eller noe på hotellet selvom vi har betalt for rommet. Veldig firkantet hotell med dårlig gjestfrihet.

Food was amazing, hospitality from staff was fantastic, and the location is 10 minutes away from Galle fort and 5 minutes away from city.Hotel was very clean and interior was very nice and quiet. And the view was superb. Nothing honestly, but would be better if they can extend pool time. Because it was just 7-7.
- Inés (6/5): Not the best - Our stay was overall pleasant, and the strongest point of the hotel is definitely the staff, who were always very kind, attentive, and helpful throughout our visit. The atmosphere is calm, and we appreciated ending our trip here hoping for a more premium experience for our last two days. That said, considering the price and category of the hotel, there are several aspects that need improvement. There was noticeable humidity in different areas, an unpleasant pipe smell in the room, visible cracks in the walls that had not been repaired, and furniture that looked quite worn. Cleanliness should also be improved, as there was a considerable amount of dust in very visible and accessible places such as the bedside tables and lamps. We specifically chose this hotel expecting a more premium stay, but unfortunately left somewhat disappointed. During our month-long trip, we stayed in several 4-star hotels that were significantly more affordable and much better maintained than this one.

The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, making it very comfortable throughout our stay. We especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which had a great variety of fresh and tasty options. The staff were professional, well-trained, and always attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.

- Henk-Jan (10/5): Top hotel op een top locatie! - Uitstekend hotel met uitzicht op de oceaan en het fort van Galle. Prachtig zwembad met goede voorzieningen en de mogelijkheid in de oceaan te zwemmen. Je kunt je lekker afdouchen. Lekker ligbedden aan het zwembad en schaduw onze parasols. De stad Galle (oud en nieuw) is op loopafstand en anders makkelijk per TukTuk te bereiken. Jammer genoeg veel troep in de Oceaan, plastic en andere drijvende rommel. Er is een tussendoor route richting fort door een park. Helaas is die route afgesloten met een hek.

The rooms were clean and spacious and the staff were always helpful. And even better, we often had peacocks in our yard! Can’t wait to come back!

The room was well laid-out and offered a zones for relaxing, sleeping and working. The staff were superb, especially Khalum in the restaurant and they all went out of their way to be helpful and to please. The pool was refreshing and the view from our room as well from the pool and most public spaces was simply spectacular. We have stayed in many fine hotels in our travels and Le Grand Galle ranks near the top of our favorite stays. We wish we could have stayed several nights more! There were double sinks in the bathroom, which was wonderful, but this left very little room on the counter top for personal toiletries.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The buffet dinners were a real highlight, such great variety and consistently high-quality food. Breakfast was just as impressive, and a special shoutout to Pasindu, who prepared fresh fruit every morning with such care and kindness. Our room was perfect, clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. A special mention to Ishan, who looked after our room and surprised us daily with creative towel animals, which we loved so much we didn’t want to take them apart! The front desk team were also fantastic, very helpful and accommodating. A special thank you to Luhith, who helped us with train information, he made everything so much easier for us. Overall, it was a truly lovely stay. If we return to Sri Lanka, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. It’s genuinely one of the best hotels we’ve ever experienced.

We were escorted to our room and everything was explained in detail, the safe, air con , tv etc. We enjoyed a great 7 days stay, the food was excellent and plentiful, wonderful swimming pool and great view of Galle Fort and Ocean. We realized that it is the staff that makes a great hotel and they really couldn’t do enough for us so polite and generally wanted to make our stay and holiday as enjoyable as possible, We hope to coma again next year !!

Our first impression was great the guy who handled our check-in, Uditha, is a very pleasant and supportive person. The service and atmosphere were excellent, and everything was well maintained. The hotel is located next to Galle Fort and has an incredible view of the ancient rock fort.

Outside is stunning, pool and gardens are lovely, and the views out to the fort are unrivalled. Now the path direct t the fort has been shut off, you have to walk around. - Andrew (9/5): A quieter alternative to staying within the old fort .. panoramic views , with a focus on design but still blending in w - Striking ,modern and very comfortable accommodation outside the fort area.. so you’ll have the outdoor space and use of a very nice pool and lawns to relax and enjoy the view of the fort and stunning sun sets.. a quieter ambiance than staying within the walls. Excellent,helpful staff .. Chathuranga making the amazing towel animals when servicing the rooms .. a very clean hotel throughout .. the restaurant serving excellent food with such friendly and dedicated service in my experience from Anjalee.Dilshan and Susantha .. Reception staff helpful too ..Sachila and Sadew always ready with local information and tips.But all the staff were very keen to contribute to an excellent guest experience. Hotel does cater for some group travel and they seem to take over whenever they all appear whether it be the pool or the restaurant..but as a positive reflection the staff managed to smile through it all. Also the high tech toilet in my room seemed to have a mind of its own.. it didn’t overly concern me ,infect I found it quite amusing .. not sure what it might do next .
