Guest Reviews
- Kim (10/5): - Great hotel where staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome and provided excellent service. Restaurant food was delicious. Was only a short visit - wish I had longer to enjoy. Reason for visit was gorilla trek.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This hotel is absolutely horrible!
It is incredibly overpriced, at the same rate as a Luxury Hotel, but they have service comparable to a Motel in Rural Alabama.
They don't have a restaurant, they have a cafeteria with a fixed menu. The portions are tiny (cheap) and I left each meal still feeling hungry.
They do not have internet in the Rooms.
They do not stock their minibar.
Half of the electrical outlets in each room do not work.
The entrance of each room is accessed through a back alley walkway so that the rooms feel like a Maids Quarters.
Each room is built out of cinderblocks and no insulation, so it is very cold at night.
The bathroom showers do not drain correctly so the bathroom will flood during a shower.
The rooms are not properly cleaned for new guests, and running your finger along surfaces yields a large amount of dust.
Criminally Overrated!
- June (10/5): - Lovely pool to relax by. Terrific staff and food.
- Joakim (10/5): One of the best! - This was one of the best hotel experiences i have ever had! The staff was so welcoming and helpful. They even clean your hiking boots. I would come back just to stay here one more night.
- Robin (10/5): - Lovely relaxing hotel - Woken by stunning birdsong, terrific views of the volcanoes, excellent food and great wine selection. I had wonderful service from the small & dedicated staff. They arranged a super guide (Honore) to take me gorilla trekking. Couldn’t fault the place!
- Milli (10/5): - Lovely staff, nice pool and good food. We stayed in a deluxe room which was lovely and spacious. The rooms are a little dark but have a nice little terrace with two comfortable chairs. Nice touch to have a fridge/minibar and kettle with coffees and teas supplied. I had a massage which was excellent and the cleaning of the boots post trek and snack pack provided all were nice touches that added to our positive experience. Would definitely recommend staying here!
