Daniel B (10/5): Honeymoon in Bath - Everything! We chose Bath as our honeymoon destination and wanted a really nice place to stay and Bathen House did not disappoint! The friendly welcome, onsite parking, amazing room, comfortable bed, hot/cold drinks in the room, handy fridge. The breakfast was excellent, great choice, lovely staff who couldn't be more helpful. Would 100% stay here again if visiting Bath as the location was ideal with a bus stop just outside the place. Everything was perfect. It was a shame they didn't offer evening meals as coming back after trekking around Bath it would have been easier to not have to go out again, but it wasn't too much of an issue as we found some lovely eateries close to the accommodation as well as in the centre of Bath itself.

The car park offered plenty of spaces for visitors. Overall, a very pleasant experience. The only downside was that the mattress on the pop-up bed was a bit too soft; aside from that, everything was great.

CarolineH198 (10/5): A gem of a hotel - My husband and I stayed at Bathen House for a 4 night break to celebrate my 60th birthday a couple of weeks ago. We chose the hotel because of the excellent reviews and close proximity to the centre of Bath. It had the added bonus of free parking in two car parks at the front and rear of the hotel. Our first impressions of the hotel were very good - we noticed the beautiful decor as soon as we walked through the door and the lovely smell which I think was due to the onsite laundry room close to the entrance. Check in was fast, friendly and efficient. We booked a Junior Suite on the top floor of the hotel. There isn't a lift but the climb up several flights of stairs was worth it. It was a WOW moment when we saw our room. Balloons on the bed were a nice touch. The room was large, light and spacious with dual aspect views at the front and back of the hotel looking across to open countryside in the distance. The room was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and very well equipped with good quality furnishings including 3 chairs, a sofa, console desk, large TV and a number of mirrors including a freestanding full length mirror next to a power point for styling hair and getting ready to go out. There was everything we could possibly need in the room - lots and lots of plug sockets everywhere including USB points - fridge - a big bonus as we took Prosecco and wine to celebrate my birthday - kettle and tea, coffee, drinking water, biscuits, milk sachets, sugar etc The bathroom was huge with good quality fittings and lots of storage space. A small selection of toiletries was provided. The large roll top bath was a real treat, there was ample hot water and the rain shower was excellent and easy to use. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. As well as the usual fruit juices, cereals etc there was a menu with a very good choice of "cooked to order" breakfast items. We had Full English with toast every day and it was delicious. The conservatory where we ate breakfast was beautifully decorated with nicely set tables and the staff were very friendly and attentive. There is a lot to see and do in Bath. We could walk to the city centre in about 25 minutes but sometimes we took the bus. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel. If you are prepared to walk a little bit further down the road where a few roads converge you have a choice of about 6 different bus services which increases your options so you don't have to wait very long. We found this out chatting to locals at the bus station - we found everyone very friendly and helpful. One night we took a taxi back which was reasonably priced at £8. There is a taxi rank in the centre of Bath near the Abbey if you don't have a taxi app. We really enjoyed visiting No 1 The Crescent Museum, The Roman Baths and The Abbey (try to do the rooftop tour if available, the views from the top are amazing). We also enjoyed just meandering along looking at the beautiful architecture. There are also many independent shops. Overall we cannot fault our visit to Bath. The hotel was excellent, the staff were lovely and an asset to the hotel. We will almost certainly return as there is so much more to see in Bath.

Samantha (10/5): Unfortunately,....... We only stayed one night. - The hotel was absolutely superb. Incredibly comfortable and an outstanding breakfast. The staff were professional and polite. There was just one thing.... We were staying at the front of the hotel and the lights from outside shone through into the bathroom and the through the bathroom door into our suite. Maybe a blind or similar on the inside of the bathroom would have blocked this.
Zayna (10/5): Perfect luxury stay - The location is quiet, and usually requires transport to all the main attractions but for us that wasn't really a problem since we brought our own car and ubers were cheap since the distance by car wasn't long. The hotel was exceptionally clean and the beds were so comfy.Providing us with a really restful sleep after long days. They provided free bathroom amenities and had both a bathtub and shower to enjoy. The room was large with a bed, TV, a place to hang clothes and a desk it was tidy and towels were changed daily. Everything worked perfectly with the heating making the room nice and toasty and a fan for if we felt too hot. Iron and hairdryer are provided and the reception staff are most helpful. I would definatley stay here again.

I was very disappointed that for 2 persons in the room that only one pack of biscuits were offered, and on request housekeeping said “that they normally only leave one pack”…… really for 2 persons. This may seem petty, but it’s the little gestures that one remembers on visiting a hotel.

However we were told by the staff that it was completely fine and that they had organised for us to check in late. We managed to get to the hotel before 10pm and the staff member was still there and they even upgraded our room for free. This was completely unnecessary, but a lovely gesture. We were staying for only 1 night as I had an interview in Bath the next day, in the morning again staff were extremely lovely and wished me good luck for my interview and allowed just to left out car in the car park for the day. These personal touches made our stay all the more pleasant and we left extremely happy and would go back in a heartbeat. Nothing everything was excellent

Location was good for us to drive to the city center - less than 10 mins and parking was always avaliable. kellyeQ1991AZ (4/5): it could be better. not very welcoming or guest friendly - The room itself was nice — clean, comfortable and well presented. Breakfast was average, nothing particularly memorable but perfectly adequate. However, there were a few things that made the stay less enjoyable. I accidentally left my glasses case (with cleaning spray and cloth) on the breakfast table. When I realised shortly afterwards and went back to retrieve it, I was told nothing had been found. That was disappointing, especially as it had only been a short time. The hotel has an honesty bar, which we didn’t use at all as we were out every evening. However, we were asked in a way that felt as though we were being questioned about whether we had used it the night before. That interaction felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. Overall, the atmosphere didn’t feel particularly warm or welcoming, and the reception experience — especially with one member of staff — was not very pleasant. While the room itself was good, the overall service and ambience did not leave a positive impression.
