Guest Reviews
- Amelia (8/5): -
- Melanie (7/5): Nice place to stay but could do with some repairs. - The property was spacious, clean, and ideal for anyone seeing music artists at the pub across the road ‘the Grace’. Waitrose across the road too. Stocked up with cereal, kitchen items like washing up liquid etc. The stairs to get to the property are HORRENDOUS and there is no mention of them at all. My mother is in her 70’s and struggled! The door keypad instructions were not clear. Upon leaving the apartment, the door tries to self lock too early and gets stuck on the light switch. The only radiator working was in the bathroom. The shower has two temperatures - scalding or freezing. The sofa is very uncomfortable to sit on. The smaller bedroom is a nightmare to sleep in as there’s a vent right next to the bed. I heard every little sound from outside, including 5am deliveries etc. These items have been mentioned in previous reviews and have obviously not been fixed.
Staff messaged me so many times to ‘remind me’ when check out was. They phoned me at 9:50am to remind me again. They phoned at 10:30 - I had checked out via message at this point and was outside waiting for an uber. Very annoying!
Very disappointed by the crazy stairs and the sound pollution etc. Not as advertised. A partial refund is being sought.
- Lucy (7/5): A good and economical place to stay. - the apartment was as described. It was comfortable and clean but a little tired and in need of a refresh decoratively. There were no pillow cases when we arrived but the company were very responsive and rectified the situation while we were out.
- Toni (10/5): - The location for the money was outstanding. The host replied quickly to any questions and I'd definitely stay again.
- Tevfik (5/5): -
- Jennie-Leigh (8/5): -
- linda (9/5): - We stopped a night in Islington after a jazz concert at the church. The flat was conveniently situated and met our needs.
- Patrick (1/5): Avoid at all costs - Really terrible customer service. I had booked this apartment for 2 nights for an employee travelling to London. Their train got cancelled due to the Glasgow Station fire so had to find an alternative route the next day. I told them not to worry as they had two nights in the apartment. When they arrived the next day, the apartment had been cancelled (but still charged), so I had to rebook for the second night. The management company refused to offer a refund so I had to pay twice for the same night, even though I had already paid it. They refused to refund even though they were the ones to cancel the flat, not me. Terrible back and forth with a bot trying to solve the issue, with zero common sense applied.
The flat was also in a terrible state, and wasn't the one advertised in the pictures. All around big avoid.
- Jean-Paul (8/5): Would stay here again, perfect for the price, clean and comfortable. - Great location, easy to get in and out. Clean and comfortable, good facilities on the whole. Some of the fixtures and fittings were tired. The boiler was working ok but couldn’t change the central heating flow temperature, so radiators took a long time to warm up.

- Murphy (7/5): - The location is really good. Right around the corner from the tube is really handy. We went to a concert in the venue right across the road so it was great. Had crockery, fridge, washing machine etc. One bedroom doesnt have wardrobes tho just be aware. Master bed has weird dip on one side of the mattress but was surprisingly comfortable as I was in it on my own. Tesco/waitrose right beside it plus ATM. Lots of coffee shops too. The shower was problematic. Either freezing or roasting no in between. The lock is fiddly youre tapping away at the face of the upstairs door trying to get it to light up to put in the code. If you have any sort of mobility issues this is not for you because the stairs up to it are STEEP my god coming down with a 20kg suitcase nearly ended me.
- Radu (1/5): - Nothing. Only big lie. Still waiting my deposit back. Same, nothing. Big liers. Very aggressive owners and also not same facilitie.

- ally (9/5): everything you need and great location - location, space, amenities, access and communication were all excellent. Will definitely be staying again when back in london. n/a
- Jodie (5/5): - The location was perfect for our needs as we were going to a gig at The Garage across the road. Hot water in shower was impossible to get to stay hot so had to have a freezing cold shower. Apartment was not very clean on close inspection. Dusty skirting boards and kitchen side was greasy. £300 security deposit for less than 24 hour stay was excessive!
- fenella (8/5): Convenient - Very close to venue for a concert. Clean, everything we needed. Had real difficulties with the key pad but worked out in the end. Also the radiator in the bathroom was too hotel and arm was burnt.
- Henri (8/5): -
- Jacqui (8/5): Perfect little apartment if you like to cook and get to shops and restaurants easily. - It was a great location and Waitrose across the road was a bonus. The high ceilings and size was perfect for me. Bed was big enough for me but probably not if I was with my husband. I will return on my next visit to Islington
- Brenda (10/5): Excellent - Had excellent stay here everything was fantastic location was great I took my grandaughter and her friend to a concert which was directly across road waitrose also across road to shop near underground and I couldnt have wished for a nicer place lovely and clean directions to get in exceptional and even had phone call to check we were ok bed well made clean towels one of the best stays I've ever had eill definitely stay again All
- Usman (8/5): -
- Toby (4/5): Close to the tube, but with a down heartening lack of attention to detail. - The location was good - I mean, we chose it for where it was, right? It's only 50m from the tube, there's a Tesco next door, and a Waitrose opposite, plus bus stops. Kings Cross is 15min on the underground. If your mate said "Oh, a week in London, yeah, use my student flat, it's empty just now" you'd know roughly what to expect, you'd likely stand your mate a meal, buy them a bottle.
So £600+ felt like a lot, and felt a lot less good than the photos made out (which, perhaps, shouldn't be a surprise). It had all we needed, plus a washing machine which we didn't, but the place needs attention.
I'd recommend the hosts actually stay there for a few days themselves and experience the little annoyances. It wouldn't take much, just a couple of days, to tidy up after previous occupants, make things like the door handles work properly, clean properly around the bath and shower and fix the water damage, move the stock of bedding from out of the kitchen/ diner/ living room wardrobe and crates, remove the wall fixtures that affix nothing, clean the oven, replace bulbs, run a cable to the bedside lamp to plug in... that kind of thing.
Oh, and replacing the filthy and overstuffed pillows would be great, they were really bad. And if you were going to do that then you'd likely put up some curtains that actually work as curtains.
Oh yes, and the front door lock bolt whacks into the light switch and it's falling off the wall which will, one day, surprise someone shockingly I expect.
The hosts were good, responsive when needed. There is no key, there is a fancy keypad to unlock the door, which, initially, we couldn't find. The hosts were quick to answer the phone to help, but actually a lady exiting the shared entrance explained it to us. Simple, when you know.
They were contact twice - once to ask permission to enter so they could fetch bedding from our store - and once again to request access for 'maintenance'. We agreed to the first, but declined the second, fearful we might return in the evening to actual construction.
- FUAD (8/5): Our stay was really good. - Excellent N/A
- Steven (8/5): Good but busy location. Overall it was good value. Deposit promptly returned. - I was not made aware of the £300 deposit when I booked on Booking.Com. The link would not accept my card and it was only finalised by phone.
The apartment was in an excellent location for rail links, shops, bars and restaurants. It was well equipped with even tea, coffee and cereal dispenser. it was clean if not a bit basic but still good value for money. Unfortunately there was a smell of cooking in the apartment probably from outside the building.
- Nola Elvis (3/5): Great location&apt but unhygienic and smelly - The location was great (basically right next to the metro), the apartment is spacious, and the people from Guest Relations were polite and kind when I was in contact with them. Despite the apartment having a great location and it having everything you’d need on paper, I could not enjoy my stay here. It was in general not very hygienic, stains everywhere, and mostly there is a really difficult smell in the apartment (tangy, musty) which really impacted the general comfort. I slept with a t-shirt doused in perfume over my face, and in the morning I was awoken at 8am from really loud noise from construction happing right above the apartment; it sounded like it was taking place right next to you, even with earplugs in it was too loud to sleep through. The noise went on up until I left the apartment at 12pm (probably an all day thing). When I called Guest Relations about the noise and the smell they were very kind but ultimately not extremely helpful— I wanted to check out and get a refund for the remaining days which they told me was not possible, but I did end up getting a 15% discount which was a nice gesture. If it wasn’t for the smell and the noise (the latter being something they could not personally do something about except maybe issue a warning, it was just quite unlucky all around) and if the hygiene would’ve been better it would be a good place to stay.

- Brown (8/5): -
- Markus (10/5): -
- Tina (5/5): - The location was great. Directly opposite the event venue and close to the train station The property was not very well kept. There was a few damages to furniture etc. There was even a tube of lube under the wardrobe door that had obviously been missed by the "cleaners"
Also I couldn't get the shower to work.

- Ziggy (10/5): My Favourite Place - I am a regular, I love all of Verv’s properties. Always clean, comfy and has everything you need. I could live in one of them 😅.
The staff are so friendly and so accommodating that makes the stay even better. N/A
- Ömer (1/5): They are scammers, don't lose your money to this hotel. - They are scammers, don't lose your money to this hotel. They are scammers, don't lose your money to this hotel.
- Teresa (8/5): It was perfect for a night in London! -
- Emanuele (2/5): incompetenti , scammers . Vergogna su di loro! - Assolutamente niente.
- Mark (10/5): - Superb location two minutes from tube station and short journey to King's Cross.
Nice and clean accommodation and nice touch to have tea, coffee and cereals. Would definitely stay again, very nice. All good.
- Hannah (7/5): Overall, cannot complain for what we paid. - Location: almost next to the Tube station and a short 10 min walk to the Islington Assembly Halls which is where we went to watch a gig. Steep stairs going up from street level, tricky to get a suitcase up.
The bathroom had dust and hair on the floor so I had to clean it before using it.
We were in room 1A. You could gain access to a flat roof with no barriers on and a drop as we were on the first floor.

- Polese (8/5): I really liked that the property was just a few steps away from the metro station. It’s a good area — not right in the c - I really liked that the property was just a few steps away from the metro station. It’s a good area — not right in the city center, but close enough to get there in about 20 minutes by public transport, which works perfectly in London. The cleaning was not done properly, especially in the bathroom that was dirty as just as we arrived with the pee everywhere
- Farhana (8/5): -
- Kath (6/5): It was ok for the price - It was in the location I wanted The bathroom was quite basic and old.
Whilst there was a kettle and coffee machine, no teabags, milk sachets or coffee pods provided
There was a need to share ID and a large advance deposit which made me quite uncomfortable
- Malatesta (4/5): Great location, but it needs proper cleaning - The location. There was urine left in the toilet vase, which actually needed a deep cleaning with muriatic acid (since it's contaminated in the bottom). The bathroom was full of mold and was disgusting to have a shower in there. There were many stains in the carpet and on the bed. The smell of the toilet has taken the whole place. Some facilities were covered in dirt. Sorry to say it, but my feeling is that I was in a dirty and unhealthy apartment. I need to be fair in my evaluation because I know that other hosts on booking.com do their best to keep keep their houses properly clean.
- Matt (7/5): -
- Jennifer (1/5): - Dirty shabby frayed carpet
Yuk
- Clarke (3/5): Never again- don't stay there. Needs a complete revamp if going to be offered to public. Apt tired. - Location. Bed was well made and clean. Dirty, smelly - bathroom and plumbing need attending to. Dead plant in doorway on arrival. Dirty carpet. Stains on the chair. Not ready at time i got there. Internal stairs very steep. Hallways need redecorating. Not convinced kitchenette would work - things squished onto worktops. Apartment is tired
- Ziggy (10/5): Home from home 🏡 - Everything N/A
- Peter Bohan (1/5): Terrible unclean no storage as packed with dirty laundry. - location was good I arrived and the place was a tip not cleaned wardrobes full of soiled towels. Service was really poor and support not acceptable. No hot water for a shower, so cold showers only option complained but no formal response yet!!!
- Cheryl (8/5): Great find, just make sure you complete ID check before arrival to get codes to access. - I had missed the messages about submitting ID and security deposit BEFORE arrival, but the gentleman on the phone was helpful, answered straight away and minimal delay to accessing apartment. I had missed the messages about submitting ID and security deposit BEFORE arrival, and that would not allow you access until completed. It gave impression that I'd be able to do at point of check in - this isn't the case as all handled remotely, so had to sort on street outside apartment, which wasn't the easiest.
- Anne Maree (5/5): Great location, needs improvements with bathroom cleaning and more instructions for the flat. - Location was great. Hot water cut out after 3 mins. No instructions for how to use washing machine. Only one fork in cutlery drawer. No tea towels,
- Kevin (3/5): Avoid h til they improve - The location was the only positive It stinks of sewage. Really bad. Really, really bad. It’s also dirty. Furniture is tatty. Carpet has stains. Kitchen doesn’t even have a bottle opener. TV remote was missing. It just feels like it needs everything ripping out and re-decorating. They need to get a plumber ASAP to sort out the disgusting drains. It’s honestly shocking.
- Daniel (6/5): Good price for the location, easy check in and good communication from the property! Apartment is ok and does a job but - Location to the Emirates stadium (10 min walk) and the tube stop (2 minutes)was perfect. Could not get hot water for the shower in the morning (not an electric shower), only a hose fitted to the taps!
- Chantel (1/5): Horrendous - Nothing Stained furniture, bed sheets not clean, headboard of bed was dirty.
Glassware/Crockery dirty, unclean linen left lying around.
Customer service skills non existent, not secure as a property, do not recommend. Stick with Premier Inn/Travelodge.
- John (8/5): A comfortable stay in a well-equipped, well-located apartment - Comfortable and well-appointed. Within a few metres of Highbury &Islington Station, close to the wonderful Union Chapel and with easy access to central London Just a little noisy as London awoke for business on Friday morning - but nothing that worry a relaxed, heavy sleeper
- Peter (6/5): - Good location. Small kitchenette included. Decent size and comfortable enough. Dirty. Smelled like literal shit. Very tiny shower.
- Ged (8/5): -
- Adrian (8/5): -
- Ziggy (10/5): Always stay here.. home from home x - Everything. Nothing.
- MASAOY (8/5): - I like the location coz very near to the train station, groceries and restaurants. There's also free cereals, condiments, coffee, sugar, tea. There's unusual smell in the toilet. It doesn't smell very clean, utensils are not enough. We are 5 but there's only 3 fork. Also at night, we are being disturb with those people living upstairs. There is someone's heavy steps late at night. Only 1 electric fan.
- Ioana (5/5): No hot water in summer , they fix the water at 11 pm then shower cap was not working . I got 5% discount - The apartment was big and clean We didn’t had hot water we could use for shower
- Roman (8/5): - Super lokalita. Kousek na metro a do centra. V okolí 2 supermarkety a několik restaurací a bister. Výborná komunikace a bezproblémový check-in.

- Vince (6/5): Amazing Location - 2 minute walk to public transit. Ample grocery, bars, and restaurants nearby. Security camera right outside the door. The shower soap has such a lovely smell! The apartment could’ve used a thorough vacuum and wipe down on all surfaces. Several strands of hair, clumps of dust and cobwebs, and random, mystery sticky substances, were all missed by the cleaning process. We were only there two nights and spent majority of our days in the city, but I wouldn’t have felt comfortable staying longer or spending more time in the apartment. The water heater was finicky during our visit. The host attempted to give some troubleshooting directions but majority of our showers remained icy. It’s unfortunate we were unable to access the balcony/terrace. The post was a little misleading. Our flight arrived early in the maybe around 10:00, we were under the impression we could leave our luggage at the property/ office/ lobby and officially check in later. We even confirmed this via message. Only to arrive and discover a private residence with no separate secured storage space, so we had to roll our belongings around for several hours. Overall it’s a nice unit, with great potential, in a prime location. It just could use a little TLC.
- Rose (1/5): I would like a refund asap or I will make a personal complaint and take this to the papers - I checked into the property but had to leave over the state of the room it was smelly and wasn’t fit for anyone to stay in the room I had 3 children and was not possible to stay as there’s cockroaches Filthy
- Sabyia (9/5): very good for the price and convenient location! - a lot more spacious then we were expecting which was nice, kitchen was quite cute and had everything we needed. very very close to the station and shops! overall definitely happy! There was 3 of us and one person stayed on the sofa bed which looked very uncomfortable, do wish there was something better.
- Biswajeet (1/5): Bad - Misinformation about stay. Asking for security Money about 3 times of the staying price which was not mentioned while booking.
- Ec (6/5): Great location, good for 2pax max. - The location is excellent close to the tube, shops and many restaurants etc. This place would be fine for a couple or 2 friends. The customer response via email was quick - we had a few issues. The description of the extra bed is deceiving - it's actually just an armchair with extensions, not even a proper sofa bed. We were 3 adults and we took turns sleeping on that because it was uncomfortable, apart from being narrow and small it was also not soft like you'd expect a sofa bed to be. The washing machine also wasn't working and hadn't been for some time. These were the main issues with the property so be aware of it if you intend to use the TWO beds. One is a double bed and one is an armchair with extensions
- Zekiye (10/5): LOVE THE HUBS, LOVE THE STAFF - Love everything about the HUB. Would love some blinds to cover the back door rather than the netting to make it more private.
- Shi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lee (6/5): Worked well for me on this instance but it needs a deep clean. - Easy to check in/access It was pretty filthy, stains on the chair, floor, bed base, headboard. No kitchen utensils, no oven mit or tea towel.
- Salvatore (10/5): One of my best spot in London. The house is very cool with a small terrace. Love it -
- Jana (7/5): The location of the accommodation is perfect for trips around London. - The greatest advantage of the accommodation is its location. There is a Tesco store, a metro station, and a beautiful park nearby. Excellent access to central London. A pot for cooking pasta was missing, but the host tried to resolve the issue immediately. A disadvantage is the location right next to a main road, so traffic noise can be heard. It's not a stay suitable for relaxation. Hot water only ran in the shower when the hot water tap in the sink was also turned on – both had to be running at the same time. High refundable deposit of £300 – fully returned at the end of the stay. We would have preferred a traditional key instead of a door code, but everything worked fine.
- Huda (4/5): Disappointing - Location good but noisy and busy The place that was given did not match the description. The essential things were clean, but the place needs a proper spring cleaning. Also very dusty walls and lighting fixtures...and mold in the bathroom. Water in the shower is cold most of the time. Washing machine, but no dryer rack. Not worth the price listed...
- Rick (6/5): Good location. Facilities could be better. - Great location near Upper Street and Highbury Fields. It stank of blocked drains on the second day.
The bed sagged a bit in the middle.
A big stain on the chair cover.
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Qadir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zekiye (10/5): LOVE THIS APARTMENT - I love this place so much that I keep coming back :) It would be good to have proper curtains on the back door so people can’t see in :)
- Kelly (8/5): Brilliant location for emirates, clean and cost effective - Location to tube and emirates stadium was amazing! Comfortable beds. Good space for three people. Waitrose directly opposite. Easy check in process on the day. Clean. The beds in the bedrooms were very comfortable but the sofa bed was really uncomfortable and there’s no curtain in that room, so you wake up when the sun rises. It is very quiet though, whereas the bedrooms get the street noise. Couldn’t get the shower hot, third person found the water warmed if you ran the bath first.
- Lobo (8/5): Very good -
- Ziggy (8/5): Cute , cosy , will stay again -
- Ziggy (10/5): Excellent , always come back :) - I always write the same review. I absolutely love this property and the staff. Everything is always so perfect and I’m always so happy. N/A
- Ian (3/5): Very disappointing and dirty - The location next to Highbury tube is great, if you want to be in that area. So much was wrong with the place, and MOST IMPORTANTLY it was filthy. There was dust actually ON the walls. The extractor fans looked like they had not been cleaned for a year or two, the bathroom was worse than a student bathroom, and there were hairs on and in the bed. The photos on Booking.com were primarily of another location and therefore only a few of them actually showed the flat. The stairs are incredibly steep for those of very slight mobility issue. The TV in the bedroom was pointless as it had no connection, even to wireless. There was a broken lamp in the bedroom which is likely illegal for a rented premises as the plug was actually snapped, but the cleaners hadn't removed it (likely as the cleaners had not been in). There was milk in the fridge, BUT IT WAS OPEN! The hot water was a task to obtain, and we worked out that we had to run both the bathroom sink and the shower at the same time to get enough pressure through the boiler to get the water to heat up.
And all this for nearly £250 for one night.
All in all an extremely disappointing stay and one that I could not recommend to others.
- Wright (4/5): should be a lot better £173 - Apartment 1 the lock on the front door in my opinion takes way to long to lock especially at £173 a night. The cable in the hall way I had to pull back into the kitchen dinner lounge room as I could have tripped over it, the second double bed room it is way to small no where to put your clothes. When in the kitchen lounge dinning room I could here the people in apartment 1a and outside on the stair anywhere in the apartment, a shower over bath, not sure if the place has double glazing as I could here a lot of the road traffic. A tv & glass table in the main bed room that looked like it had been put there because there was room to store it there, btw it could not be used as it could not reach the plug or had an ariel.
In my Opinion this apartment is not worth £173 more like £100 A night, I get location its just the apartment didn't live up to my expectations for that price & I have been in others cheaper but nice apartments. Maybe if the apartment had been sound proofed & attention to detail had been done to finish of certain thing like the wiring the lock on front door. Apartment 1 the lock on the front door in my opinion takes way to long to lock especially at £173 a night.

- Charlene (10/5): Family night out - Well presented comfortable apartment. Close to the tube station and lots of shopping options. Good facilities i.e kitchen and bathroom. Kitchen came with cereal and milk already stocked plus tea and coffee.
