• Nicole (10/5): One of our favorite stays on our 10 day trip around Iceland - Homey, in country with beautiful views, 25 minutes to a village. Owner was so sweet and fun to talk to. We were able to use dryer to dry our wet clothes (rained all day). She showed us the barns with sheep, cute lambs, cows. She even had a little cabinet with her handmade socks, hats, art, jam, etc. Clean room, comfy beds and coverings.

• Chiara (10/5): Meraviglioso! - La struttura è immersa nel verde a 20 min da Akureyri, la camera pulitissima e molto curata, così come la zona della cucina/soggiorno. Elisabeth è stata meravigliosa: accogliente, sorridente, disponibile e ci ha coccolati con una cena squisita a base di pesce (si può scegliere tra carne, pesce e piatto vegetariano) e una colazione con prodotti fatti in casa. A disposizione degli ospiti ci sono sempre biscotti fatti in casa e tè, libri e giochi da tavolo. È stato il posto migliore dove abbiamo soggiornato perché ci siamo sentiti a casa.
• Nina (10/5): Liebevoll eingerichtetes Gästehaus - Wir waren vom 24.09 bis zum 27.09.25 im Guesthouse Baegisa. Trotz später Ankunft wurden wir sehr herzlich empfangen. Das Gästehaus ist liebevoll eingerichtet. Man hat alles, was man für einen tollen Aufenthalt braucht. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und ordentlich. Das Frühstück war überragend. Jeden Morgen gab es selbstgemachtes Brot, Marmeladen, Kaffee, Wurst, Käse..also alles was man für einen guten Start braucht. ..und es gab auch lecker Skyr und jeden Tag eine andere selbstgemachte Leckerei. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und Elisabeth hat uns jede Frage in Bezug auf Island ausführlich beantwortet. Es war uns eine Freude bei euch zu sein! Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt!! • Cesar (10/5): Super nice place with friendly staff and a fantastic breakfast - Very nice property, rooms were good sized, the breakfast was fantastic, The host was super nice, welcoming and helpful. There is several places to hike but we run into bad weather. Not much to say here besides not booking it for 2 nights. The room could use a place to store the luggage.
• Steansa (10/5): Un'esperienza nella vera Islanda - Struttura in mezzo alla campagna e con tante pecore. Cena deliziosa fatta in casa, anche l'unica fatta in Islanda ad un prezzo accettabile (cena di pesce con verdure e dolce a circa 42 euro). Parcheggio comodo.
• Tracy (10/5): I would stay here again and recommend it highly. - Elisabeth is so warm and kind, and she is an excellent cook. I was happy I ordered the dinner! It was delicious, and more food than I could eat. There are friendly dogs and places to walk nearby. She even provides handmade slippers for guests. It is an easy 25 minute drive from Akureyri and is a nice change from the city. The lounge area is small, but adequate. There are only 3 guest rooms, so it doesn’t feel over crowded. The photos below show hand knit warmers for hard boiled eggs (!) and sunrise from the guesthouse.
• Olga (9/5): Deutscheflair - Es war echt super ruhig, trotz dass die Nachbarn da waren. Danke Allen, die die Ruhe von den anderen respektiert haben. Danke Elisabeth, du hast alles so gesteuert, dass es funktioniert hat. Nur eine Anmerkung: überall haben wir je 2 Kissen gehabt. Einfach 4 Kissen zur Verfügung liegen, statt zusätzlich zu fragen, ob wir je 2 brauchen.

• Alina (10/5): Wir würden immer wieder kommen - Alles. Elisabeth ist eine wundervolle Gastgeberin. Das Abendessen war einfach nur lecker und auch reichlich. Auch das Frühstück ist sehr gut. Wir durften sogar Wäsche waschen. Das Gasthaus ist gut gelegen, man ist schnell in Akureyri. Wenn man was bemängeln möchte, dann vielleicht den Wasserdruck der Dusche, der war nämlich kaum da. Aber alles andere macht das wieder wett.

• Heike (10/5): Kommen gerne wieder, unbedingt 2 Nöchte bleiben - In diesem Gasthaus fühlt man sich sofort wohl. Mit viel Liebe ausgestattet. So warten z. B. am Eingang selbstgestrickte Kuschelsocken. Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß, sehr sauber. Die Betten sehr gut. Das Frühstück sehr umfangreich mit täglichen kleinen Überraschungen. Das Abendessen frisch selbst gekocht und sehr lecker. Der Heidelbeere-Apfel-Streusel-Pie köstlich. Am allerbesten ist die Gastgeberin Elisabeth (spricht auch deutsch), bei der man merkt, dass ihr das Wohl ihrer Gäste am Herzen liegt, stets gut gelaunt und fröhlich. Wir haben sie Löcher in den Bauch gefragt und sie hat sich sehr viel Zeit für uns genommen. Wir waren 4 Nächte dort. Sie ist uns so ans Herz gewachsen, dass uns der Abschied sehr schwer viel. DANKE, liebe Elisabeth für diese wundervolle Zeit bei dir/euch. -

• Annika (10/5): Liebevolle Unterkunft bei herzlichster Gastfreundschaft - Ein absolutes Paradies auf einer kleinen Farm, 20 Minuten Fahrzeit von Akureyri entfernt. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Elisabeth zaubert jeden Morgen ein liebevolles Frühstück und auf Wunsch auch ein umfangreiches Abendessen. Für Tipps und Ausflugsempfehlungen stehen die Gastgeber mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Der Aufenthalt wird uns lange in Erinnerung bleiben!

• Jiří (10/5): Perfect farm retreat - Now this was the best stay we had in all of our Iceland trip and Elisabeth was the nicest, most welcoming person we met. The guesthouse has everything you could need and it is incredibly clean. I also recommend to have a walk above the farm - there is a nice gorge with a great view of the entire valley, with many a sheep along the way. And the jars of homemade cookies in the kitchen area and homemade jam for breakfast really sealed the deal for me. 11/10

• Carsten (10/5): Mit Herzblut geführtes Gasthaus. Würden wir immer wieder buchen. - Alles sehr sauber und mit Liebe ausgestattet. Sehr Familiär. Über die Gastgeberin wurde ja schon viel geschrieben und auch wir waren begeistert. Wir hatten vorab ein Essen bei Elisabeth bestellt und es war einfach nur klasse. So gut haben wir lange nicht gegessen. Alles frisch aus der Region und sehr lecker. Das Frühstück war auch gut. Elisabeth hat morgens frisches Rührei serviert. Nichts. Alles war gut.

• Renate (10/5): Overveldende - Fantastisk flott plass og vertskap. Her fikk vi komme nær naturen og bo på et gårdstun som er i drift med sauer og kyr. Vi gikk oss en liten tur rundt på gården og fikk hilse på både kalver og hunder. Med egen canyon en liten gåtur bak huset er det eneste vi angret på at vi ikke overnattet flere netter så vi rakk å se og oppleve alt. Frokosten er en opplevelse i seg selv med hjemmebakt brød og eget syltetøy. Anbefales på det varmeste til alle, og ta dere gjerne flere dager her.

• Dinah (10/5): Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre in einem Gasthaus in einer schönen Landschaft. - Die Gastfreundschaft ist aussergewöhnlich. Die Gastgeberin ist sehr hilfsbereit, beantwortet jede Frage und hilft bei Problemen weiter, so gut sie kann. Es gibt ein sehr gutes Frühstück mit selbstgebackenem Brot und selbst hergestellter Marmelade und anderen Köstlichkeiten. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut. Das Gasthaus liegt ausserhalb Akurary.

Everything is clean, peaceful, and thoughtfully arranged. The host is an incredibly kind and warm-hearted woman, and it was a pleasure to talk to her. In the morning, we were served a delicious homemade breakfast, made with care — a welcome break from standard hotel buffets. 🐑 The highlight for our daughter was a nearby farm where she was allowed to bottle-feed baby lambs. She squealed with joy — and so did we. One of the most heartwarming moments of our entire trip. 🚘 Great location, especially if you're traveling through the north. Parking is right by the house. If you're looking to experience authentic Icelandic hospitality, surrounded by silence, nature, and warmth — this is the place. No exaggeration — the best stay we had in Iceland. 🧦 And the selection of warm wool socks available for guests was the cutest thing I've ever seen in a hotel ❤️ Too bad we only had one night — we would’ve loved to stay longer.

De zelfgemaakte koekjes vielen vielen ook in de smaak. Het was een perfecte tussenstop gedurende onze rondreis. Het huis is ook degelijk gebouwd. Zo heeft iedere kamer een branddeur en hoor je het geluid van de andere kamers niet

Highly recommend - Guesthouse Baegisa is an idyllic location a few miles outside of Akureyri. Just a gorgeous location in the countryside. The hosts at Guesthouse Baegisa were charming and helpful. The breakfasts there were wonderful. We loved the peaceful surroundings and wished we had a few more days to stay there. We highly recommend this place.
• Giulia (10/5): - Guesthouse situata in una sheepfarm, a mezz'ora di auto da Akureyri. Struttura veramente accogliente, dalla pulizia alla scelta dell'arredamento. Elisabeth, la padrona di casa, è una persona dolcissima, capace di coccolare al massimo i suoi ospiti. La cucina non è ad uso comune ma si può prenotare in anticipo la cena, preparata dalla signora con i propri prodotti. Abbiamo scelto menù vegetariano e siamo rimasti più che soddisfatti. La signora ci ha anche offerto il dessert. Per noi è stata deliziosa. La colazione è eccellente, dal pane alle marmellate fatta in casa. Valuto al massimo la struttura perché non c'è nulla che non vada bene.

• Arthur (10/5): A hidden gem - The guesthouse is on a sheep farm so it is very quiet. Yet it is conveniently located not far from a main road but away from the city nearby. The proprietress, Elisabeth, came out of her house to welcome us as we drove up the driveway and guided us to our room. It was a very warm reception. Our room (twin room) was on the small side but workable. It was clean and warm even though the wind was howling outside. The dinner we ordered turned out to be a typical Icelandic dish, and it was delicious. The main course was surpassed by the dessert. Breakfast was excellent; it included eggs cooked to order. • Neireiter (10/5): Great experience on an Icelandic farm with a great host. - The property is very beautiful with a Mountain View. You wake up next to cows, sheep, and dogs. The sheep came right up to the fence then we witnessed their dog going to work to herd the sheep away from us. Very neat experience. Elisabeth was a great host. Her son was right next door and was also very accommodating when we needed help late. The beds were the most comfortable beds we slept in our entire trip. Liked everything

Elisabeth è stata una padrona di casa fantastica: ci ha accolto con gentilezza e ci ha preparato una cena assolutamente squisita con i loro prodotti; è anche una persona creativa, troverete in vendita oggetti di artigianato realizzati da lei carinissimi. Ottima la colazione, anch'essa con prodotti freschi e fatti in casa. Ho adorato l'atmosfera della fattoria, con mucche e pecore e bellissimi cani da pastore. Un posto genuino e davvero piacevole, forse il migliore del nostro viaggio. Grazie ad Elisabeth per aver reso il nostro soggiorno così gradevole. Consigliatissimo! Nulla.

• Thomas (10/5): - The guesthouse was located at a perfect location, relatively near akureyri but it felt remote enough, surrounded by mountains, with a small waterfall and farm animals around the area. The host is very accommodating and friendly and made us feel directly at home. The room itself was quite spacious and felt modern, while the kitchen was very well equipped and cosy!

Excellent dîner à commander à l’avance : viande ou poisson avec légumes et gratin, dessert avec des fruits. La panacotta était délicieuse. Petit déjeuner de même qualité. Produits frais. Tout est fait maison.

Die Lage ist traumhaft inmitten der Berge Islands und das Frühstück, das persönlich von ihr zubereitet wurde, war großartig. Eine absolute Empfehlung, wenn man in der Nähe von Akureyri übernachten möchte. _
