Guest Reviews
- Aidan (10/5): - Location, clean, warm
- Anand Petrus (7/5): - The cottage being in this beautiful and historic town Talbingo and the lovely autumn leaves on trees adding to this rustic feel. Pether Cottage felt like home with good vibes though the town was mostly empty during our trip. Well equipped for the 3 of us and the absence of any supermarket and only a Chinese Restaurant which we didn't want to go (being from Singapore), we made our breakfast and dinner in the cottage. The location of this cottage in one of the 3 surviving towns of the prestigious Snowy 1.0 project, made us feel the history. The floor was sticky to walk on. The towels could have been more cleaner. But I wouldn't complain at that price. Acceptable.
- Caz Dowling (10/5): - Pretty much everything, lovely cottage, stunning scenery, a perfect place to relax and unwind, we didn't want to leave!! So great we could bring our dog. A safe and secure backyard.
Hosts were very helpful
Thanks very much, we can't wait to go back to the beautiful paradise! The only thing was the very narrow bath/shower, it isn't a flat service so showering was a little difficult to keep your balance
- Gill (10/5): - Very comfortable and clean accommodation. Excellent hosts. Definitely will book it again, if we come back in this area. It was a fantastic stay
- YITONG (10/5): -
- Love to travel (8/5): Had everything we needed at a great price -
- Marten (10/5): - Everything was clean and the place felt like home, the kitchen had also everything you would need.
- Katrina (8/5): Really enjoy this stay! Highly recommend! - Have stayed here before and love the homely feel of the property.
Great location and very peaceful. Although dated this place has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
- Callisto (10/5): -
- James (9/5): Nice vacation home, located where we wanted to be to see the Yarrangobilly Caves -
- Jennifer (10/5): - Best location for visiting Yaragonbilly Caves The property quality is as per photos, don't expect a luxury 5-star stay
- Sitti Mona (9/5): -
- Arika (9/5): Just what our family needed - Location was perfect. Bedrooms were spacious. Big bathtub. Large outdoor area. Easy to use laundry space. Close to great places to enjoy - yarrongabilly, tumut, dam, river. Needs some tender loving care with cleanliness with more than a spot clean. Quite a few dead bugs and flies, dust and cobwebs, but it didnt concern us too much and david and hilary were apologetic and very responsive.
- Richard (8/5): Very Nice. Had all we needed except for coffee plunger or percolator. -
- Samantha (10/5): -
- Ray (10/5): Pleasant stay - Easy to pick up the key good cooking facilities and location Had to pick the food up 40 km away there was no shops to buy food
- Laurent (9/5): Cozy and so quite - I liked the cozy feeling, the beds are comfy, I did like it here it was nice, great heating!!! Lovely peacock. A few adjustments needed, but almost definitely worth the money Absolutely no privacy from neighbours, fences where almost none existent, would invest in colorbond fence, and cleaning that old shed out the back, you can make that into a little area for something nice, I did also find mould in corners of bath, please redo the bathroom, if your car is to low you will scrape it on the drive way
- Andrew (6/5): The accommodation met our needs and was well positioned in the Snowy Valleys area. - Convenient and very affordable.
Very warm with good air conditioning
Two toilets made it good for the family
Great location
Kitchen was well stocked with utensils
Good communication from owners Wasn’t as clean as could be.
Beds weren’t very comfortable.
Very old fixtures and furniture
A lot of condiments were missing
- Clementine (10/5): Comfortable, well equipped property. Perfect location. Helpful, friendly hosts. -

Lovely street with beautiful trees and a close walk to the club , nature reserve.. N/A
- Janice (9/5): Superb - Had everything you needed in kitchen
- Mick (10/5): 3 days of relaxation - It was quite had everything I needed walking distance to the club in my favourite go-to spot when I want to get away aswell as grate hosts can't fault the place and I will book again in the future. Nothing all good nothing to dislike
- Richard (7/5): Good but not outstanding - Plenty of space. Very clean inside. Comfortable bed. Great WiFi and TV. Plenty of cutlery, kitchen utensils etc. Laundry. Covered parking. Quiet and effective aircon. Not clean outside. Missing shampoo and conditioner and good coffee. Building showing its age. Renovations not complete.
- Greenway (6/5): Pleasant - Emails and posters asking for 5 star reviews to in to win free accomodation
- Keely (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zhelong (3/5): Poor -
- Douglas (8/5): Very good -
- Gunce (9/5): Nice cottage in beautiful Talbingo - I liked having a full kitchen with everything needed for cooking. All rooms had aircons for cold weather. Communication was great with clear directions. Thank you David and Hilary.
- Raquel (8/5): Very good - The location, quiet area, comfortable beds and lounge, the managers were so friendly and helpful Nothing
- Carly (9/5): Comfortable, warm, rustic, winter stay on a budget. - Spacious for our family of five. Affordable. All linen provided. Great heating for winter. Washing machine with powder and dryer. Large comfortable beds. Full kitchen with plenty of crockery. Excellent location to explore the nearby National Parks - Yarrangobilly and Selwyn Snow Resort. Off street parking.
- Dane (10/5): Exceptional - The location and property were great, this was our second visit and was very happy to return. Love the hamster wheel in town wish we had one, burn those beans off of the kids. Great size house for five and I can assure you the value for money is there. David and Hillary are in constant contact leading up to and after your stay, making sure you aren't left wondering or trying to find that email. No snow this time, but the owners can't control that. I wish I could think of something negative, however we really did enjoy ourselves and being our second visit we showed that we are happy to return.
- Katherine (9/5): We loved our stay ! The cabin was very cozy and warmed up very quickly ! - I like that it was spacious had 2 x toilets and good heating and the location was close to the lake. The outdoor area could do with a spruce up and a dog door from the back toilet area would be ideal , the cold tap in the kitchen does fall off quite often but goes back on fine 🤩
- Jason (9/5): Lovely spot, probably more a ski/winter destination but the views/drive were great - Great location, drive in was awesome Expensive local shops, recommend bringing your own food
- Sommer-west (5/5): Passable -
- Girly (5/5): Passable -
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (9/5): A very affordable alternative to camping in the rain, thoroughly enjoyed our two nights in Talbingo. Comfortable cottage - Stand alone home, plenty of beds (great for big groups), close to caves. Kitchen would be a bit cramped for big groups.
- Feng (8/5): Very good - great location! smooth check-in/out. house is well equipped. the bath room fan is a bit nosiy/shaking and need a fix.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ananya (9/5): Superb - The place is a home away from home. Loved the experience. Nothing as such.
- Farooq (10/5): Exceptional -
- Badri (6/5): Pleasant - A dish washing liquid would help, but couldn't find one.
- Cort (7/5): Good -
- Muhammad (10/5): Best place to spend time during summer or winter - We are very very happy with our stay.
Well organized.
Very clean toilet.
Nice kitchen.
Both Kids and adults can spend time in lounge room watching movies (Amazon, Netflix, etc) with pop-corn ☺️
Lots of outdoor activities near by (such as, Cycling, visiting Cave, going to snow field, and so on) all of them are within 45 mins distance.
This is the third time coming to Talbingo but first time very happy with our stay.
We are planning to come back during summer to spend quality time at Pether Cottage.
Thanks a lot!! N/A
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Jannelle (8/5): Very good -
- Tasanee (10/5): A great, warm, home away from home - Good heating, everything you could need in the kitchen and more, Netflix, milk provided, good shampoo and conditioner provided, heat lamps in bathroom, bedding and towels provided. Good, easy communication. Would recommend to anyone :)
- J (6/5): Pleasant -
- Parnita (10/5): highly recommend - Very clean.
Great communication everything was great..
- Catherine (1/5): Dreadful - Not much. The backyard. The kitchen was basic but ok, could have been cleaner. We were looking forward to a stay in a cottage knowing it was basic we didn't have high expectations but this place was so disappointing we only stayed one night of the three we had booked. The house needs a thorough deep clean inside and out. The lounge suite is disgusting, mould around the bath tub and kitchen sink.
The wardrobes and other storage needs sorting and cleaning, I didn't unpack my clothes as I felt I couldn't put them in the tacky wardrobe.
Tenants are enticed to enter a competition to win additional accommodation if you gave a 5 star review 😳
- Usama (8/5): Very good -
- Crystal (3/5): Poor -
- Rani (7/5): Good - cosy little cottage good for large family or friends Wasn't really clean. We found dog hair that was blown out under the sofa
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Many beds Suits large family however only one bathroom
It has 3 air conditioners which were left on all the time which keeps the house warm throughout
