Guest Reviews
- Matthew (4/5): - Staff were mostly friendly
Warm showers
Free breakfast
I got a private upgrade for free on the first night and then my last 2 nights the room I shared was empty so essentially private
Charging ports temperamental Not very social. Mostly bolivians or people on holiday vs backpackers
Beds weren't very warm so got cold in the night
Staff charged me to leave bags in the storage area for the morning I checked out but nowhere did they advise me of the charge until I came to pick up and was accosted on the way out. This is out of the ordinary for any other hostel I've been to and they should tell you before so you are aware instead of demanding payment on the way out

- Til (1/5): All beds have bedbugs! - Staff was friendly and let me check-in early. The beds have bedbugs. I had to change beds three times but all of them had bedbugs. I had to sleep on the ground and my whole body is full of bites.

- Paul (7/5): Good -
- Malvine (9/5): Superb -
- Romi (8/5): Very good -
- Aurélien (5/5): Good hostel but needs some work done - Nice location. You have a bar downstairs with cheap food and drinks.
Staff is also very friendly so nothing bad to say about that. I also took Spanish lessons with Pamela which were very good!! Amazing teacher.
Make sure to tip your Spanish teachers well because they barely earn anything of what you pay in this country. 1) Comfort: my mattress was in a really bad shape which gave me a lot of back pain. Sometimes the rooms/bathrooms were also quite dirty so that’s a -
2) Bed bugs: I have been stung everywhere (which made me change hostels) and when I asked about it they told me that it was a problem from before that wasn’t resolved (they thought it was gone). I feel like it’s a matter that they need to take more seriously, don’t just spray the bed the bed with some product. You need to empty the whole room and clean all the sheets + spray everything and keep the room closed for a few days…
I feel like this could be a very good hostel but they need to check their hygiene and matresses.
- Elad (7/5): Good -
- Mok (9/5): Worth to stay - Located in central areas, quite convenient.
My room is large. Staff are helpful. The hostal is regularly holding classes, there are lot of people gathering at evening, so a bit noisy.....
- Carla (9/5): Superb - Changing and varied breakfast. We had to change the room due to a overlap on the booking system.
- Tim (8/5): Very good - The staff here are just awesome! I'm terrible with names and have forgotten all of them *facepalm* but I can honestly say that they were so kind and friendly and helpful! The location is also excellent, basically in the middle of the city, one block from the main square. Breakfast is included. The bed was comfortable. Lots of advice about local activities, tours etc. Bus ticket booking service too. The house which it's in is this gorgeous old mansion. The bed was a bit creaky - I was on the top bunk in a dormitory, and I was conscious that every time I moved it made a creaking noise, and I was concerned that it might disturb the person on the bunk below. The bathroom/shower area is small; it was never an issue for me, but I can imagine that some people might find it a bit awkward. Finally, there is a bar downstairs and a busy road outside. It never disturbed me (the doors seem to shut out a lot of the noise), but perhaps a light sleeper might notice it?
- Stefan (7/5): Good - I was able to check-in very early. Went from the night bus directly to the hotel!
- Elizabeth (6/5): Fair enough for a quick stop but not a good stay for more than a night - Good location. Staff were nice. The bed was uncomfortable and the mattress was flat on one side meaning I always rolled towards the floor. Also the bunk beds were so creaky any movement in the night woke everyone up. It is advertised as a 5 bed dorm but it’s two dorms attached with only one entrance and exit door so it’s actually 11 people having access to the room. Also the pictures of the nice restaurant and seating area don’t reflect the reality. Actually downstairs is a bar that opens in the afternoon/evening so there is nowhere to sit in the day and plays loud music into the night so don’t expect a quiet’s night sleep. I chose this place as I was at Spanish school and wanted decent sleep. I asked the property to leave after the first night but they wouldn’t grant a refund for the remaining nights only 50%. It would have been fine for one night but a week was a mistake. Also the dorms are mixed and the tiny bathroom with two showers and two toilets and no changing space and an external door that didn’t close is also mixed so there is no privacy to change. I also mentioned this and they said there was an alternative shower and bathroom but that was in fact broken (only the toilet worked) and was adjacent to the upstairs bar and had see through glass panels. The breakfast was hit and miss although a few morning its was quite good and fresh with some eggs.
- Jessica (4/5): Disappointing - Excellent location Bedding wasnt clean, there is only 2 toilets and showers for whole hostel which are on a balcony over a bar, and cramped and dirty the entire time. The bar was very noisy (until 1am) and could hear everything in the room. There were no curtains in the room so woke up early with the bright light. Reviews mentioned good social space, but us and others guests mentioned this, and there was no such space, only a bar area with bar stools.
- Steve (6/5): Pleasant -
- David (8/5): Very good - Room was good. Bed was great.
Due to 1st floor bar, It was too loud until 10:30. Was nice and quiet after that.
- Damian (10/5): Exceptional - We had the “basement” room; it was comfortable. It can be noisy because of the restaurant right next to it, but in our case, it was quiet during the night. Baggage storage for two days was also available, which was great for us. It is very centrally located.
- Ahmed (6/5): Pleasant -
- Laurie (6/5): Good hostel with character in central Sucre - Well located hostel right in centre of Sucre , our first few nights we stayed in a large room with balcony and 2 showers , great value for money . Staff very nice and helpful , language lessons available . Hostel has nice character. Checked back in and were put in a basement room , not great very small and dark but we only had this option available (this was cheaper also) bar downstairs reopened on our last night and it was very noisy with music and affected our sleep . Not ideal for us , but some people might like this option to have a bar available.
- Ilia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ran (8/5): Very good -
- Bela (9/5): Superb -
- Florent (8/5): Very good - I really appreciate the early check-in after arriving from night bus. Most of the staff is very nice and welcoming. And there is a good atmosphere in the hostel.
Breakfast is nice too ! I'm not peaky but I found quite a lack of cleaning in the facilities and even the private room I had the last day.
- Gonny (9/5): Superb -
- Kavuşturan (8/5): Very good - The location is very good. Staff is really sincere and ready to help. Rooms and beds are clean and neat. Everything was ok
- Julien (7/5): Good -
- Anton (7/5): An affordable and friendly Hostal in city center. - The staff was amazing and very friendly and happy - which always gives an excellent experience of a hostal. The room was clean and was in a quite part of the hostal. The location was brilliant, very close to the center and points of interest. There was no wifi in the room. Which was supposed to be fixed on day one. But during our 4 nights they never fixed it. But we saw it as a good detox. Quite loud around the area where we could sit and relax - due to the bar that is situated underneath the hostal.
- Gemma (7/5): Well located and comfortable, but read reviews about the noise before booking! - We stayed for a week in one of the private rooms. The bathroom is also private, but not connected to the room. The room is spacious with plenty of storage. Kitchen is equipped to cook in (but this isn’t necessary in Bolivia in our opinion). The breakfast is excellent! Evening staff in kitchen were so friendly. The shower is barely usable. It’s either scalding hot or freezing cold, no in between.
The hostel is located upstairs from a bar, so it is VERY NOISY until 1am every night.
We were unable to book group Spanish classes despite being advertised.
- Takara (7/5): Good - Localization was really good, in the center. And the beds were comfortable. There were few bathrooms for the quantity of people, and the information given by the receptionist about the arrival in samaipata was not accurate, so we ended up waiting from 3 am in the middle of the city.
- Niamh (7/5): Good -
- Alina (9/5): Great staff and location - I had a wonderful time at colors hostel! The location is perfect and the staff was super super friendly. I was able to take privat Spanish lessons at the hostel. I enjoyed my stay a lot and even extended it for one more week! I would definitely come back! thank you again for this great stay!
- Anders (9/5): Great location and value for your money - The atmosphere was great, and the staff was really friendly and helpful.
The location was amazing, walking distance to everything you need (main square, restaurants, bars, groceries, sights). Large room and spacious terrace (part of our room). Our bed was queaky, some noise from the bar and the Internet connection was not the best.
- Manon (7/5): Alright - Great location, the boss is nice and speaks french. Check-in at 11 or even before if room is free.
Just 5 min taxi from bus station. Not super clean (shower and toilets) and it was empty. Not their fault of course!
Very basic and very soft bed.
- Anothertreehouse (7/5): Good - nice decorations, friedly staff, cozy noisy pub on a ground floor, internet very bad, private toilet far from a room
- Michele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Craig (6/5): Pleasant - Wifi did not reach my bed and the shower was cold one day and then hot the next
- Tomer (6/5): Pleasant - The hostel is located very close to the center The beds weren’t comfortable, the do have hot water in the showers but not enough showers bathrooms and sinks for that amount of dorm rooms.
- Florian (7/5): Good - Located very close to the main plaza Loud music and smoking people from the bar underneath
For the bathroom you have to go along the balcony. You will smell the smoke and hear the noise from the bar.
- Fabio (1/5): much better places in sucre at the same price - the location is perfect, but sucre is very little. The breakfast is nice, like the other hostels (I've spent one month in the city). The music from the restaurant is going on until after midnight very loudly. The attitude of the reception is quite bad (he said he was the manager) and not willing to help you.
- Patiño (9/5): Superb - The staff is very helpful and caring. This Place is near everything and it's good value for the money My room needed to get cleaned
- Anne (6/5): Pleasant - The hostel is decent. Theres a shared kichen and it has a breakfast included. This is a very noisy hostel. Theres a bar downstairs that is crowed every night. If you want some sleep I recommend to stay somewhere else
- Abbey (9/5): Great pick for sucre - Decent breakfast. Really big bunks with plugs and lights. Great staff. Super location with lots of food and stuff around. Hot showers. Big kitchen Was unable to get a hold of anyone before 8 am- so had to wait for a while to check in. Other people didnt have this issue though.
Bar downstairs can be noisy- but not really any issue behind closed doors.
- Lisa (8/5): Very good - We stayed for one night in the room for 4 which was clean and spacious. The breakfast is good and we were able to leave our luggage. The location is in the centre and very close to everything. There's a bar in the patio downstairs which is open until 12 pm, but in our room we barley heard any noise and could sleep well. Bed's are comfy, just the bathroom was old but with hot water and clean.
- Riley (8/5): Very good -
- Diana (10/5): Overall loved it - Location is amazing, and the interior patio is super nice and cozy. The music at the bar downstairs starts quite early and is really loud so if you spend the evening at the hostel there is no silent place.
- Eric (7/5): Good -
- Lacey (9/5): Superb -
- Matilda (9/5): Superb -
- Tsung (3/5): good location, good staff but poor quality of the room and wifi - the location and the staff the shared bathroom is very small, and the first floor of the hostel is a bar which is very noisy at night
- Currocc (8/5): Very good - Very friendly staff. Great location. Pretty bad internet conection. The room was good but the bed was terrible.
- Akansha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tatiana (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect!
Location very close to the cathedral (one block), main park, casa de Libertad.
Nice clean room with the typical balcony con chairs there.
Very good shower, hot water everytime.
Good breakfast.
Vary important - the kitchen, is possible to make something for dinner.
I really enjoyed😊 MapsMe shows it on the wrong side of the street.
But it may be doesn't depend on the hostel.
- Elisabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Cozy room, very nice staff who were very attentive and helpful with all our questions
- Marcin (3/5): I do not recommend. - Good location. I didn't expect that my room would be located above a bar with loud music until late. Additionally, the room I slept in was a passage to another room where more people were. The door kept opening, making the music even louder. The tenants did not pay attention to doors slamming or closing them. This made it impossible to sleep even when wearing earplugs. Breakfast is one egg and a dry roll.
- Marta (8/5): Very good -
- Jeroen (8/5): Very good -
- Vivipanda (10/5): Nice hostel, amazing staff - The hostel was great but the staff made our stay truly exceptional. They gave us tips, arranged an early breakfast, and arranged our stay even though renovation started the day we left. The showers were lukewarm at best.
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emmy (7/5): Good -
- Martha (7/5): The location is great and it is in a safe zone, the place is beautifull, thank you! - .
- The location is great, the main square is close by, you can find anything around.
- The place have plants :).
- The room was comfy, it has windows to the street and you had a nice view.
- Nice breakfast, it included fruits, yogurt, pancakes and others.
- The stairs have anti-slip finish, I did appreciate it because one person with us had problems on the walking. .
- The room had a private “external” bathroom, so in order to reach the bathroom you needed to pass through the lobby, so I would say it was a dedicated bathroom; in order to label it as "private" maybe a folding screen can be used while the room is used or something like that.
- The confirmation by mail included a phone number but it did not work, so I searched on the web and got a number to contact. I reported this to the staff.
- Jessica (8/5): Very good - Kitchen to cook your own food and good breakfast Make sure the door is shut because the music from the bar downstairs is very loud. But easy to get away from in the rooms
- Simon (8/5): Good friendly staff who pointed out things to do and were great when I turned up at 2AM from a tour - Great colonial house right in the middle of the of part of Sucre There was a bar on the ground floor which filled with a very noisy crowd on some nights
- Jessica (8/5): Very good -
- Amelie (6/5): It was decent - The staff were all super friendly. The location of the hostel is great right near the main plaza. The bathrooms are outside fyi- so it can be cold and the hot water is limited.
The pub at the bottom of the building (the courtyard pictured) is really loud and makes it hard to socialise with people actually from the hostel on the balconies upstairs. The music goes till about 1am most nights of the week. The staff tried to ease this and be accommodating but it still impacted. The room was okay the bed was not super comfy just some constructive feedback :)
- Stefan (8/5): Very good - Good Service, nice and clean kitchen. Very Good Location. Private external bathroom was a wet cell, i.e. unfortunately not that comfortable as everything was wet after showering. No Place to let towels dry.
- Mae (8/5): Very good -
- Luis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (5/5): Passable - Close to the main square. One guy, David(?), on reception was fantastic but the other staff were not. very noisy in street facing rooms and no real curtain. Bathroom was tiny with the shower on top of the basin and had to go through the kitchen and reception to get to it.
- Bora (10/5): Exceptional -
- 朱七碗 (1/5): Bad - the breakfast is good.and staffs are kind hearted very nosiy location.cant sleep well even for one night.and the first floor is a bar, they party hard everyday .super nosiy! and the shower water suddenly become cold sometimes .omg. this hostel is my nightmare. i ll not come here again
- Martin (8/5): Very good - - friendly staff
- staff can organize city tours, buy bus ticket etc.
- breakfast
- location in the city
- restaurant in object (good food and beer) - restaurant in object - can be noisy (we didn't mind)
- old equipment (beds)
- there is no storage space in the bathroom
- Ellie (8/5): Very good - Fantastic location. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great value money, especially as breakfast was included. The bed was a little old and had a dip in the middle of it. There is a bar/restaurant downstairs which can be a little noisy at times.
- Shetah (8/5): Very good -
- Eimear (7/5): Central Location and Pleasant Stay - Excellent central location. Lovely staff and nice free breakfasts. Spacious dorms also. There are only two showers and two toilets for all of the dorms, which mean that they can be busy!
- Badger (7/5): Good - The staff friendly and helpful I done the Spanish lessons there was good hot shower breakfast was OK too There was only 2 shower cubicles for the size of the place not good enough
- Emily (6/5): Pleasant - Decent hostel located near the city center with a big breakfast. Quite loud and creaky making it difficult to sleep, bathrooms are small, no lockers for valuables, and beds are very wonky. Sheets also had blood stains on them... For a budget dorm, it's fine for the night, but nothing amazing.
- Péter (7/5): Good - The hostel is in the heart of the city. Downstairs is a nice pub. They organize city and other tours for you. They were in the middle of renewing a room. Just 2 toilets and 2 showers for the entire hostel.
- Lucie (10/5): aqesome locality, helpful staff -
- Hava (3/5): Very average, can probably find better hostels for same money - The location and breakfast were good. You can book daytrips directly with the hostel. There is one washroom consisting of 2 showers, 2 toilets and 1 sink to share among all the dorms that this hostel has, it is extremely crampt with no where to actually get changed comfortably after a shower. The quality of my mattress and my friend's mattress was terrible. To get into the dorm next to me was only possible through my dorm so throughout the day and night there were people coming in and out and going through. The courtyard area is a restaurant and bar and night and becomes fairly loud with locals, you can hear the noise from the dorm room.
- Lucy (8/5): Very good - comfy bed, dorms were very spacious and well equipped kitchen. Bathrooms very pretty dirty and it was hard to find staff
- Aleksander (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Holger (6/5): Pleasant -
- Luz (8/5): Very good -
- Virginia (8/5): Very good - Very close to the main square, I had one of private rooms and it was big, the private bathroom was basic but functional and the breakfast was good. I recommend this place. The room could be cleaner. In the ground floor of the hostel there is a nice pub, the hostel is located in the upper floor and shares the courtyard with pub. At night, it can be noisy, but music generally stops at 11 pm so it is fine.
- Sevin (8/5): nice stay in Sucre - it was very close to the center plaza and restaurants and shops. nice and helpful staff. loud noises from the bar at night.
- Jessica (7/5): Good - Clean hostel in quiet location close to main square. Friendly staff, good breakfast included, well equipped kitchen All of the mattresses need replacing. I woke up with back pain due to the huge bow in the mattress and even after changing bed the other was the same.
- Lydia (7/5): Good -
- Amy (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mikto (10/5): Exceptional -
