Guest Reviews
- Vladimir (1/5): - Nothing Nothing to say
- Joseph (8/5): - Beautiful and rugged Beautiful location. Food is very good and enjoyable to try. Room is a bit “oversold” although fun to be in nature. Everything is priced because you are relatively captive.

- gabriel (7/5): - Location, great for aurora/ north lights Old furniture, could use an update to make it more confortable and modern , expecially in the bath areas
- Tze Han (6/5): -

- S (7/5): - The location, the surroundings and the activities and the food were par excellence It's too pricey
- Gianluca (7/5): - Posizione, colazione e cena Rapporto qualità prezzo elevato
Letto comodo. Cibo a buffet molto buono e vario. Personale molto gentile, accogliente e solare.

- Kevin (1/5): Nice location but disgusting customer service. I DON’T RECOMMEND. - Great location in the WILDERNESS. Most of the staffs are not friendly at all - you instantly feel that they are working there only to get paid and leave.
There should be a shuttle to bring guests along with their luggage to the lodge. When I asked the receptionist how do I take my suitcase to my lodge and her reply was - take the sled, put your luggage on it and pull - that’s absolutely ridiculous! I saw a couple - elderly people struggling to walk on ice and the woman nearly fell. Water is limited for the shower, it was written there’s only 40 liters and will take 2 hours to refill.
This place is really not worth the price you’re paying for. Needs a lot of improvement. I strictly DO NOT RECOMMEND.
- Nanni (9/5): -
- Gernot (9/5): - Super Lage, sehr freundliches Personal, hervorragendes Essen, großes Zimmer und Sauna Zu wenig Kleiderhaken, Reinigung jeden 2. Tag

- Adrienn (10/5): Nice location, aurora view, amazing programs - The Hotel is in the middle of the forest. Perfect location. The food was amazing and huge choice. The staff was very kind and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I stayed in the aurora cabin and I had a chance to see the aurora from my bed. The Hotel offered many activities and they provided the necessary equipment. I enjoyed so much the programs.
- Taly (10/5): A great location and room viewing window/ roof - The location and the clear roof top window are amazing 1. Street lights are on all night, making it difficult to view the northern lights, from the room. We had to find a creative solution, to enable a very good viewing from the room.
2. The room facilities lack: a 'respectable', not mini table top mirror, towel heaters, shelves and bedside dresser.
- Sonia (10/5): -
- Sylwia (10/5): Schön, mitten in Nirgends, naturnah.
- vanessa (10/5): A beautiful, spacious stay with friendly staff, great vegan-friendly food, and the unforgettable bonus of seeing the Nor - We had a wonderful stay at Wilderness Hotel Muotka and would absolutely recommend it. Our room was spacious and beautifully designed, making it a perfect place to relax after a day of activities. The welcome we received was warm, and throughout our stay the staff were consistently friendly and helpful.
One of the highlights for us was the food. The meals were delicious, and we really appreciated how accommodating the kitchen was with vegan options. The chef kindly adapted dishes of our choice into vegan versions, which made dining such a pleasure and completely stress-free.
To top it all off, we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights directly from our cabin — an unforgettable experience! This hotel made our trip truly special. Nothing !
- Liliana (9/5): Gran Lugar!!
- Andrea (10/5): -
- travis (9/5): I would recommend the location to anyone who wants to visit the Artic Circle. - the location and ease of use of services...the meals were part of the fee... the activities especially the dog sled adventure. the bed was two single beds press together to make a Kind Bed...the mattresses slid apart throughout the night.
- Luisa (10/5): Vacanza magica - Ho amato tutto:
-personale molto gentile e disponibile
-transfer dall'aeroporto (pagamento extra)
- Dave (10/5): One of the most enjoyable wilderness retreats we have experienced - The hotel is ideally situated to enjoy winter activities and of course see the northern lights. Its location, away from the main road, is great for a nature experience. This is a well managed and organised hotel and hard to find any faults.
- ANGELO (10/5): -
- Klara (10/5): -
- Sari (10/5): -
- Clement (9/5): -
- Simone (10/5): -
- Anna (5/5): Not worth the money - In the igloo, the northern lights were easily visible, good breakfast, good location without light pollution The igloo has dated furniture (carpet, sofa, and bathroom cabinet), the bathroom and the sauna are minuscule, we could hardly fit in two. The bathroom is made of cheap material, there is only a 2-in-1 shampoo and shower gel (not even a conditioner) and there are only 40 liters of hot water each day. The dinner buffet is the smallest I’ve ever seen and the food is not even good. Also, you have to take your own bags to your igloo. Based on the price paid, this is absolutely not worth it.
- Jenni (10/5): Magical setting, thick snow and evenings spent watching the aurora borealis - Beautiful log cabin with amazing view of the aurora borealis from our sofa!
Ultimate relaxation! Friendly staff and great food. Nothing
- Damian Chlebek (10/5): - View, food, location Too expensive
- Przemysław (10/5): - Bardzo mi sie podobal pobyt dokladnie to czego oczekiwaliśmy sama natura świetny klimat .

- Nicolas (9/5): -
- Diana Marcela (9/5): - The rooms are cozy and modern, the food is good No help to move luggage to the room. This means you will carry your luggage no matter the climate conditions including snow.
- Mariia (10/5): -
- Joy Peng (10/5): Truly amazing location, highly recommend staying here!! - Really amazing place surrounded by untouched wilderness - so grateful to have spent 4 beautiful days here. The sauna was great- super clean and heats up fast; the bathroom was nice and big. We didn’t book many activities upfront (we should have!) but did go snowshoeing - recommend you book with the hotel because then you can keep the snow clothes for the days you’re there. We got a transfer from the airport and to our bus stop (to Rovaniemi), on time and convenient! We did half-board and the buffet for breakfast and dinner were fantastic.
Hot tip- skibus runs once a day at 10.10am from there so if you want to go into Saariselka, it passes by. The first night we found our sheets seemed unclean- but the stafd were quick to come replace them.
- Dennis (9/5): Loved the time and attentiveness of staff. Even the Activities staff were most helpful. - Wait staff was very accommodating, vast types of food on the buffet, drinks, More rustic with no TV but ample space to sit about to talk with others. Large grounds to walk or slide about. Quiet and felt very safe. Did not have any towels in the room but was very clean. Staff at front desk were quick to provide.
- Alizée (10/5): - The place itself is amazing! The welcoming, the hotel & the staff, everything was great !
The food is delicious.
We love the activities and the staff was really nice, helpful and funny. A big thank you to Jose & Miguel and the lady of snowmobiling !
We'll be back ! We liked everything! Some little details can be improved on the experience such as amenities in the bathroom, decorations in the rooms. Otherwise everything was great and I highly recommend this place
- Sidharth (7/5): -
- Tino (9/5): -
- Emin (10/5): -
- Minal (9/5): Perfect! - Beautiful location. Staff is really good. Lodge was cosy and well kept. We had an amazing time.
- Leslie (8/5): Loved the wilderness, way overpriced. - Secluded wilderness location, abundance of activity offerings on site, cool looking aurora huts from outside, delicious restaurant on site, dark sky for aurora viewing, friendly activities staff. Everything was extremely overpriced from activities to the aurora cabins to the food. The aurora cabins are cramped, outdated, and fit 2 people max. Not worth the money.
- Lanneke (9/5): -
- yap (10/5): - We absolutely loved this place!
We even saw the Northern Lights right at the doorstep — such a magical moment.
There’s also a sauna room inside the accommodation, which made the stay even better.
The breakfast had plenty of choices too, really impressive.
Overall, a very worth-it stay. We truly loved it.
- Federica (10/5): -
- Saleemi (8/5): -
- Matteo (10/5): -
- Alannah (9/5): - La situation en pleine nature
La nourriture variée et travaillée
Personnel sympathique /
- Ledio (10/5): Recommended 100% - The staff from reindeer experience, epically the Venezuelan guy was very easy going and helpful with everything
- Nor Rabani (8/5): -
- Astrid (7/5): Expected much better for the cost. - The location. The bed under the windows in the igloo. The bed was confortable. Breakfast was ok. The igloos are dated. The furniture is sparse and not in very good condition, seems quite old. In particular the bathroom is very small, I suppose to fit in a very small sauna, but then there is no space for a shower that does not flood the whole bathroom. There is not even a space for a bathroom mirror. In the room there is not a fridge, and they kindly offer two little champagne bottles, but these are warm because there is no fridge. We stayed one night, so it was fine, but if were staying longer there would not be a pleasant space to sit, a desk and anywhere to hang clothes beyond the outdoors garments. For the steep price, the igloo was very disapointing.
- Nelson (10/5): Excelente! -
- Waize (9/5): Gerne immer wieder!
- Clare (10/5): - Wonderful, secluded location, lodges were fantastic, comfy beds, great views of the forest. Only minor but breakfast started quite late, would be nice to have an early breakfast option, also I thought the cost of the dinner was a little expensive for the amount of choice.
- A Carter (8/5): Very nice cabin out in the woods. - Great cabin out in the woods. Good view of the creek from the full wall window. Why would you stay in Saariselka when you can be out in the woods for your stay in Finland? Nice bed (just watch out for the bear head carving when you reach for your glasses). Large sauna and good shower/bathroom. Large enough to spread out.
Breakfact was a typical European breakfast but did not change. Some of the gluten free pastries were great tasting; even though I normally don't eat gluten free dishes.
I had a minor auto problem and the maintanence man returned to the hotel to air up the tire which had a low pressure warning. Thanks!! Dinner did not meet our expectations and we only ate there the first night of 4 during our stay. Offering rental of bikes without taking a full excursion would have been nice.

- Amy (10/5): Magical winter wonderland! - We loved our stay in the igloo! The sauna was such a nice addition. Great selection for breakfast and a lovely forest view. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
