- Ari (9/5): - Rauhallinen sijainti.
Päärakennus ja ravintola tyylikkäästi sisustettu. Sunnuntain illallisruoka oli pettymys. Pääruoka oli mauton ja liha sitkeä.
- Kathryn (10/5): -
- Lynn Ann (6/5): - Being on lake Inari was great. It was great having the sauna available. We used it twice. Having breakfast and dinner as part of the package was great as well since we were about 50 minutes to town. I didn't realize how far from the town of Inari it was. The walls in the hotel area are very thin and you can hear everything that your neighbor does. Don't get me wrong we had a great stay, just wish we had more in our room like a small fridge. If you didn't leave the bathroom door open it started to get musky and smell of dirt was very strong.
- Asma (8/5): -
- Alexander (10/5): - The snowmobile tour was great!

- Vinod (5/5): - Location of the hut No shower in the room. Staff not knowing their hotel. Staff were struggling between dining area, Kitchen and reception area.
- Anja (10/5): Außergewöhnliches Erlebnis mit Komfort - Lage, Komfort, Service, Verpflegung, Aktivitäten, sehr freundliches Personal einfach alles - ein kleines Juwel inmitten der Lappländischen Landschaft direkt am Inari See. Ein unglaubliches Erlebnis! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
- Melike (10/5): Exceptional - Highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast and dinner was amazing. The staff is super friendly. Give a try to cross country skiing!
- Yousef (10/5): Very lovely and sweet hotel and very friendly staff specially Jasmine she was very friendly and helpful - Lovely hotel
- Yousef (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rika (10/5): Winter Wonderland - Beautiful location and staff where all very lovely! Special shoutout to Alexi who we had on two of our excursions. Made it super fun and has a wealth of knowledge. Food was not wow as we were the last guests to leave the resort prior to the end of season however was still lovely and did not put a damper on our long weekend. Just stunning with breathtaking views!
- Matthias (7/5): Good - Rooms as shown in the internet, staff was friendly and breakfast was good.
We stayed in an igloo and to shower we had to walk to an extra building. This was no problem but as we had so shower in the sauna we had to schedule a fixed time to do so. The time is max 45 min and the front desk mixed up our “shower times” various times.
- Luca (10/5): 10/10 would do again - The staff was awesome and even had a special gift for all the people on valentines day.
Dinner was always great with vegetarian options available.
The location was awesome to see aurora lights
- Erin (9/5): Superb -
- Ullatu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arletta (8/5): An unforgettably wonderful stay at this magical place - + Small, but cozy with beautiful equipment.
+ Perfect organized activities with very friendly and motivated tour guides. In addition, the beautiful surroundings with their magical forests and the huge lake with its numerous islands are just great for long and adventurous walks.
+ Everything extremely good and the service very nice and kind. A huge applause for the whole kitchen and bar/service team. - Unfortunately only one armchair, no sofa. For singles it might be just perfect - for a couple it's not enough.
- Our room was located nearby the entrance of the building (#305) and you could hear everything and everybody through the wall which was quite annoying.
When we mentioned that and explained to the guy at the reception, that it was enormously loud and that we could not get the rest we wished for, he said that he couldn't do anything, no room change nor a compensation, nothing. To be honest, that was pretty poor for such a luxurious, high-priced hotel.
- Under the bed there had obviously not been vacuumed for a long time. Fortunately we are not allergic to dust and everything else, like the bathroom, which is more important, was clean.
- Anmol (6/5): Pleasant -
- Senia (9/5): Superb -
- Jose (10/5): amazing - The staff was amazing, professional and very knowledgeable. clem and very well designed
- Maxime (8/5): Very good - The staff is amazing! Everyone is nice and ready to help you having a good stay! The place near the lake is perfect for northern lights. Bad smell in the lake huts, like fuel. Make sure you booked the sauna and a shower slot before arriving. The lake sauna evacuation system was clogged.
- Abbie (8/5): Excellent customer service and a very peaceful place to stay which seems to attract lovely guests - We had a couple of issues with our first night and day of activities, however when we addressed this with the hotel manager (Sanna), she went out of her way to ensure the next 24 hours were such a positive experience. The way we were dealt with was so impressive, and left us feeling very happy and positive about Wilderness Hotels and specifically Nangu. A special shout out to Ida, our ski guide, who was so enthusiastic, full of nuggets of interesting information and really made our last day, magical. A lovely place with some excellent activities to help you see and experience the area to the full. The igloo hut on the lake was just a little too remote and small for us.
- Arsen (10/5): Everything was excellent! Special thanks to staff members, who were always friendly, smiley and helpful! The only thing -
- Grace (10/5): Exceptional - The place feels magical in the winter. Amazing views and northern lights every single night of our stay right next to our room.
- Jerlene (10/5): Exceptional - The place was superb, exactly like what was described but better. Place looks new and clean and it was very comfortable Probably nothing
- Svea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): Unforgettable stay - Amazing experience in Inari lake, perfect for aurora watching and many other activities. Outstanding service!!! Accommodation is pricey but worth the investment
- Ally (10/5): Simply off the scale INCREDIBLE! - This place is simply incredible! The ambiance, the staff, and the food is just amazing - amazing reindeer fillet, Arctic charr and perch - so local, so traditional but contemporary in presentation. If you are a foodie you will love this place! So refreshing not see Berger and chips on the menu! The surroundings are simply beautiful-we has a log cabin with a hot tub and sauna which was amazing! We did - snow shoeing, cross country skiing and the huskie ride - all pre booked with the hotel - we loved all of these - we also took a taxi up to the ski resort of Saariselka - which was 50 minutes each way - return in a local taxi was 250€ - this ski resort whilst small had epic snow and was a great day trip organised by ourselves. Totally recommend this place - the fact that it’s adults only is a massive bonus also. Nothing!
- Miguel (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and willing to help on anything that you could need. The hotel and activities were amazing
- Vivien (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nastasia (9/5): It was absolutely great - a once in a lifetime experience! - We loved our little glass hut with an amazing view of trees and the frozen lake Inari. It was amazing to see the Northern lights through our roof and to use the daytime for cross-country skiing over the lake. We expected just a little bit more for the money we were spending. We also had to pay additional money for to use the sauna. Nevertheless, it was amazing. But the sauna could use a more personal and relaxing touch ;)
- Berkem (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (8/5): Amazing magical stay! - Fantastic magical hotel with very friendly staff. Amazing activities. Very beautiful and peaceful. The food is a buffet then with a choice of a vegetarian or one other main course and is a bit of an acquired taste as it can be overcomplicated. It would be good to have just a few non set menu choices given it is so remote or the ability just to order a sandwich, a pizza or something unless you just come with something you can cook in your room.
- Craig (9/5): Wonderful location for a winter getaway - The hotel is located on the edge of lake Inari and in winter it’s beautiful. We were able to snowmobile, walk and aurora sight see from the frozen lake, as well as ice fish. The restaurant offers fantastic breakfast options from fruit, verbenas, cooked food and waffles. Evening meals are a set main with vegetarian or meat option. Then there’s unlimited buffet started of salads, soups and breads. Being adult only makes the experience very relaxing and enjoyable and near such a natural beauty spot it’s perfect. Not so much the hotel but their organisation of transfers. €100 each way between Ivalo airport and the hotel which is 30km approx. I don’t mind this cost and understand it may be a bit more than arranging myself with a taxi firm but my issue is that the transfers are not private. If others arrive off the same flight as you they will share a taxi, this means the hotel excessively profit. From airport to hotel there was 4 of us which was comfortable in a 8 seater vehicle but on the return there were three couples and over 8 cases. This meant 6 people were crammed in the back of the min van, 7 cases and hand luggage stacked floor to roof in the boot and a case on the passanger seat. Mean while the hotel would have taken €300 for one organised trip. Felt a little bit of a liberty being taken
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saeedullah (7/5): Good -
- Philip (10/5): away from it all ! - what an amazing place in the Wilderness! nothing
- Jan (3/5): never again in a wilderness lodge. Many better alternatives. - The breakfast and dinner( included in the price) was of very poor quality.
The remoteness of the place is not a factor because there are several big ,very well stocked ,supermarkets in close proximatety.
They saved money on the food and the quality was inferior. They didn't have a chef , or a cook.:Only someone that heats up deep freeze food . The coffee was bad quality. If you wanted better coffee you had to pay extra !!!
This place is about making money. not interested . Much better alternatives in the area. Food was very bad. They should hire a real chef or cook.
I also had to ask for shampoos ,conditioners . these were not replaced when empty.
The place is run by amators , and you have to pay a lot for this. The owners are only interested in making money.
- Fabian (9/5): amazing hideout in beautiful landscape - amazing location
very friendly staff
great dinner and breakfast
- Farrell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (9/5): What a remote experience!! - wow, what remote location and a real experience! lake hut didn’t have running water and just a dry toilet, but we knew that beforehand. ok for one night! luggage transfer between accommodations not thought out properly.
- Errol (8/5): comfortabel - ligging faciliteiten kaner was prima comfortabel
- Zofia (9/5): great stay in the wilderness - The most extraordinary place. Both the surroundings. and the hotel buildings were beautiful. We stayed in the Aurora hut, which was very small but comfortable. The hotel offers a wide variety of additional paid activities with knowledgeable guides. All staff were great and accommodating. We could book private time in the sauna. Breakfast and dinners were outstanding, delicious food and a huge variety of choices. Since the Aurora huts do not have bathrooms inside (which was known to us beforehand), we could book private time in the sauna and use the shower there. However, it was a bit of an issue that we had to schedule our showers the day before, and could not take a shower whenever we wanted. Perhaps an additional place with showers and restrooms, closer to the huts, for the guests staying in Aurora huts would work better - we also found it problematic that we had to use the restaurant bathrooms (that the restaurant guests used all the time) to e.g. brush our teeth.
- Amara (10/5): Magical place - Food was exceptional! The staff were very friendly. Our rooms were comfy, clean and well kept. The activities were fantastic. The drinks that the lovely Gio made for us in the restaurant were 5 star, really creative and the best I've ever had.
Highly recommend this place!
- Luca (10/5): Amazing hotel - Charming hotel on the shores of Lake Inari. The overall vibe is intimate and slow-paced. Our room had wooden walls, private sauna and was very spacious. Dinner was great both nights we were there, we liked the buffet + main course formula. Breakfast could be a bit more varied. Need more towels in the rooms with private sauna.
- Stuart (10/5): - Fantastic trip. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Activities on the frozen lakes were great. Highly recommend this type of trip.
- Fernando (9/5): Superb - Great hotel, delicious food, comfy rooms and easy access to the (frozen) lake. Good place to see the auroras. For cross country skiing and walking their partner hotel (Muotka Wilderness Hotel) would have better opportunities, as it is next to Saariselkä.
- Julian (2/5): Very poor -
- Desiree (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marco (9/5): Superb -
- Gillian (9/5): This was an anniversary trip worthy of the balance between privacy, romance and comfort! Absolutely - Lovely engaging staff
Remote feeling
Prettiness of resort
- Nikolaos (7/5): Not for the solo traveler, but otherwise lovely - The setting is gorgeous, right on the lake, which was frozen in December and truly beautiful. I even saw the northern lights right at the hotel premises… the staff alerted everyone in the restaurant to step out and there was the aurora, at like 18h00.
The wilderness room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Loads of hot water in the shower (very important!). My view was not the best, but during polar night it doesn’t make much difference.
All the buildings that make up the hotel are built in the chalet style (except the aurora cabins on the lake, which look like space capsules), making the ensemble very appealing visually.
The staff were great… polite, helpful, always with a smile, big plus! Perfect for romantic escapades, but if you go solo you’ll be the odd one out. And as it really is in the middle of nowhere (albeit a very beautiful nowhere), there is nothing to do all day except the activities offered. The way all social spaces (lobby, bar, restaurant, lounge) are together in one big room doesn’t help either.
The vegetarian options for dinner were rather basic.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (10/5): Perfect - Great place - Hotel is beautiful in a great location. Sauna was perfect after a rainy day. The food in the restaurant was amazing and the staff were very friendly. Beds have been some of the most comfortable i have slept in Finland. Highly recommend, 10/10 will visit again when I'm in the area
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
Paksujen hirsiseinien ansiosta huone hiljainen.
Kiitos!
- Kirsi (10/5): Great escape! - Great relaxing escape to start our x-mas holiday! Beautiful setting in the wilderness! Meals were great!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Metsän hiljaisuudessa - Ihana paikka, rauhallinen ja tunnelmallinen.
- Satu (8/5): - Upeat hirsirakennukset, siistit huoneet.
Majoitus on syrjässä kaikesta.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wunderbare Lage, sehr schöne Ausstattung, hervorragendes Personal, einfach sehr sehr angenehm
- Verified traveler (4/5): Secluded location, overpriced service and food - Pretty surroundings, friendly staff, attractive lodgings, but with no other restaurants within 20 minutes drive, the hotel food is significantly overpriced at €100 per dinner for two, not including drinks. Free breakfast buffet is not replenished throughout the hours of breakfast and offers little variety/quantity. Excursions offered by the hotel were double the cost of similar activities offered by other companies in nearby towns.
