- Ann (10/5): This is a great value stay with great personal service - The room was pretty, very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent and I got excellent table service. The breakfast was excellent freshly cooked, delicious and brought.to my table. I had to cross the main road from the room to the restaurant which wasn't what I expected but now that I know it wouldn't prevent me staying there again
- J.BOUGHTON (10/5): -
- Nicole (7/5): - The main menu food was excellent and very good.
The room was exactly what you would expect for a low cost stay.
Parking was onsite, motorbikes visible from the roads but there were no issues overnight.
The breakfast was excellent, the morning staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we wanted and needed. Nothing was too much trouble, we were very well taken care off..
- sharron (8/5): -
- Mr Darryl Hatherell (8/5): - All lovely food and drinks are excellent Didn’t like the people next door or below not sure which one. Slamming doors and screaming kids.all this was around 12:30/1:30 am on Saturday night but Friday night was all good.
- Matthew (9/5): -
- Joy (5/5): It was fine and near to where we wanted to be to visit friends and visit Sandringham. - Breakfast was lovely and the staff were great. A wardrobe in the bedroom or at least a hanging rack would have been good but appreciate that there was no room in the bedroom.
- JENNIFER (6/5): Would be great if bedrooms cleaner - Friendly staff & good breakfast Not very clean bedrooms, not warned about all night noise from bar
- Rombaldi Vaccari (10/5): Great stay - Great location, easy to find, excellent breakfast, overall good value for money.
- charles (8/5): Practical room excellent food friendly staff - Dining room and food excellent staff were very friendly and helpful.
The room though small was adequate for my needs for an overnight business trip.
The bed was comfortable and quiet. Some area in the room were dated in the shower room

- IAN (10/5): Will stay again when in the area - Friendly staff comfortable rooms excellent food early breakfast 👍 Nothing
- Phyllida (7/5): Friendly and comfortable - A warm welcome, good evening meal and a comfortable room in a house over the road. Not as strong as a dislike, but breakfast didn't match up to the evening meal. Would be great to have some yoghurt, granola, fresh fruit etc.

- Sally (9/5): -
- George (9/5): Very welcoming stay at a reasonable price. - Clean and comfortable rooms with a great bar and restaurant. The staff were very helpful and welcomed our border collie with open arms Nothing

- ROYSTON (9/5): excellent in all areas - Excellent breakfast and the evening meal was large and well prepared. Staff friendly and helpful Room old but very clean bed comfortable may pillows Good value for money
- Robert (6/5): - Evening meal and breakfast were very nice. Mouldy ceiling in shower.
Footpath overflows in shower.
Lack of sockets.
Had to move kettle from tea making area to a bedside table to use the electric
- Simon (8/5): Good overall - Staff very good and helpful. Breakfast hot, well presented, extensive dinner menu and we ate twice in the evening. The quality of the food was high and well priced. The hotel is well situated for access to most of Norfolk. We were in a room up two flights of stairs, difficult as we have some mobility issues, we should have discussed / considered this more carefully when we booked. Room was ok, a little bit small.
- Justin (9/5): - Breakfast! Nothing
- Jackie (10/5): Lovely hotel - Location. Great value. Lovely food, with plenty of choice. Excellent staff, very friendly. Comfortable bed. Nothing, it was great.
- Helen (7/5): Room was fine for a short stay. Food was excellent - Warm welcome from the friendly staff.
Dinner and breakfast were excellent Room and ensuite were on the small side but adequate for a nights stay
- joel (8/5): - Good value
- Pete Griff (7/5): Stayed many times, perfect for my trips to Wisbech. - Excellent breakfast and good selection of evening meals. Room too hot!!!
- Bill Siviter (8/5): Business traveller - The location for Port Sutton Bridge was ideal for work the next day. Free onsite car park. Breakfast from 07.00am. Free secure Wi-Fi. The Surf and Turf I had in the evening was very good as was the breakfast, with fried eggs. The room I was in had a small table and chair to work on, which is an improvement on my last stay. Staff, both in the evening and for breakfast were very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again, if/when in the area. Nothing really.
- TravellingMan (4/5): - Food was great Room was noisy, small, grubby and not well equipped
- James (7/5): -
- Brian (10/5): Friendly people Great Food - Breakfast was excellent Location very good
- Henry (2/5): Would go back to restuarant for a meal but never to stay there - The bar and restaurant was lovely food was very good staff were lovely friendly and helpful and restuarant was clean and menu was good The accomodation was outdated and dirty the carpet in the corridor was filthy dirty skirting boards and walls bedroom smelt of dogs dust everywhere cobwebs on curtain pole and part missing hole in throw on bed mattress had springs sticking in you dirty wallpaper no headboard bathroom was disgusting mould on ceiling dirt and dust everywhere dirty smelly bathroom mat one thing good towells were pure white and clean which iooked new shame the bedding wasn't the same i would not recommend anyone to stay there
- Anne (5/5): - Niks Locatie , comfort,te duur
- steven (6/5): - Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff The room that was said to be wheelchair accessible was not fully wheelchair accessible and this caused some difficulties.
2 rooms had been booked however on arrival only one room was available.
- Lorraine (5/5): Adequate facilities for one nights stay - Breakfast was slightly overcooked especially the bacon. Orange juice was watery. Was told I had the wrong key for the room was unable to lock door. Live entertainment on until midnight was only told 2 days before arriving even although was two floor above pub it was very noisy unable to sleep. Booked to break a long journey 7hrs driving was leaving early next day got approx 5hrs sleep.
- JAMES (10/5): -
- Paul (9/5): Friendly clean and comfortable at a fantastic price - Friendly, clean and tidy and great value for money
- Liam (8/5): -
- DAVID (4/5): Disappointing - Anchor inn pub and food excellent. Staff friendly and efficient but accommodation very poor. Mould in shower- lots of it. Dirty carpets and paintwork. Toilet stains on bathroom wall. Only two sockets in bedroom both behind the bed. Such a disappointment- realise rooms not expensive but should be clean whatever the price See above
- Paul (9/5): - Food fantastic
- Caitlin (7/5): -
- Barry (10/5): Suited us perfectly - Nice staff and very helpful Nothing
- Ian (9/5): -
- Bethan (10/5): Fantastic - Great location. Our room was warm and comfortable. The staff are fantastic. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
- Tracy (8/5): -
- Paul (10/5): Fantastic place - See you next time I am staying in the area. - Everything about my stay was a pleasure. From the friendly staff and locals, the hotel, perfect location.
My evening meal and breakfast were both superb.
- Sally (5/5): We enjoyed the family celebration with the help of the staff.Room could have been better - We came for an 80th birthday celebration lunch. The carvery was very good and all the staff despite being exceptionally busy were helpful and cheerful.
The breakfast was very good. The room was adequate but a little tired. The cups still had tea stains on the outside.
The shower door was not on the rollers at the bottom which meant the doors could not fully close
- Nikel (8/5): - Clean and tidy
Friendly staff
Breakfast choices (only missing black pudding but not a deal breaker) Mattress.. I know, my personal preference
- Alan (8/5): -
- Jill (9/5): Convenient practical - Very well decorated on the inside very homely . The staff are very nice and helpful . My bed was not the comfiest maybe new mattresses should be purchased , it felt rather warn and bumpy.
- ELAINE (5/5): Mixed Review - Staff lovely, well organised and helpful. Walking England coast path so location good. Pub excellent. Excellent choice on lunch/dinner menu and well prepared. Room was very basic. Definitely in need of refurb. Bed uncomfortable. Tap unusual design and water very forceful. Had a very small leak in evening from room above, so water dripping on me in bed. Walls/floor thin so hear every footstep from room above. Such a shame as their pub across the road, is excellent
- Barry (7/5): One night only was ok - Room was adequate a little tatty unfortunately we missed breakfast as we had been out and returned at 9.20 breakfast finished at 9am but we were aware of this.
- Susan (7/5): I was surprised how large and locally well supported this pub was in a town that is quite small. - In spite of numerous Christmas bookings they gave us a table for four. The food portions were large well presented and well cooked. For the amount it was great value and there was lots of attentive staff. A very pleasant evening that I would recommend to everyone. The room was a little cramped and the stairs leading up to it was very narrow and quite steep for my wife who is nearly 80 and not too steady on her feet.
- Samantha (8/5): -
- Carmen (9/5): - It was a small comfortable room, with a really good shower.
- Mickeydaquiche (7/5): -
- Catherine (8/5): Fantastic value, comfy bed! - Location good, quiet considering the room is above the bar, cosy bed, breakfast was good, decent choice. Room was a bit tired, shower sealant a bit mouldy however it is still great value for money and wouldn't deter me from staying again.
- Terry (8/5): -
- Daniel (8/5): -
- Tobiasz (4/5): Loud and cold - Friendly staff, warm shower Cold at night and very loud tumble dryer making noises at 8:00 am till 10:30 when I left. So no proper sleep before my 6 hrs drive
- Barry (8/5): Just an overnight stay and was as expected - Breakfast was good and the room adequate size for us. Convenient
- AB Dan (8/5): -
- ROYSTON (9/5): - Good breakfast comfortable room excellent stopover while returning from Scotland
- chas (5/5): Good for the money. - Nice bar and restaurant En-suite need TLC
Could hear the morning team in the kitchen moaning about breakfast diners and the evening team not making them aware 🤦♂️
- Gethin (8/5): Excellent stay in clean, comfortable room with friendly staff and very good food. - Very good accommodation, friendly and helpful staff, very good value for money. Third time of staying and will stay again.
- Sue (4/5): Disappointing, would not stay here again until renovation complete - All food was of an excellent standard, would definately eat there again. However, the room was very disappointing. We were in another building over the road from the main building, which was a house spilt into multiple rooms. Ours was through the conservatory, which contained a wardrobe and chair. A curtain which was hanging off the rail meant people could see us in bed from the street. We had to sleep with the bathroom door open to afford some privacy. The double bed was very comfortable, but the addition single bed sloped and was not level, not good for sleeping. Paint was coming off the walls and ceiling. A cupboard in the room was full of paint tins and DIY stuff. The hot tap in the bathroom just got hotter and hotter to what felt like boiling point. There was no cold tap. Had to wash hands in the shower so didn't get burnt. Felt as thought this room was in the process of being renovated and that should have been completed before putting up for use.
- Carole (8/5): - Modern pub with friendly staff. Good range of beers and the food was very nice. We arrived on carvery night. Overcrowded and we couldn't be seated until almost the end of service.
- Martin (9/5): Friendly and good location - Such a lovely place to stay and eat. So friendly and helpful. Breakfast is really good and the evening meal has a good choice of food and very reasonably priced.
- robert (9/5): enjoyable. served as base. great shower and new room. very good quality breakfast. - Breakfast was great quality however due to being very busy the 1st day service was slow but understandable as most dont take an early breakfast on a weekend. Quite loud till late on sat night due to function in the bar.
- john (9/5): -
- Androulla (7/5): - Despite me being up really early, they provided not only breakfast but a full cooked breakfast (thank you Jane!).
- CliffSt (8/5): - Great staff, nice atmosphere, good food. Room sufficient but needs a refresh
- John (8/5): Very friendly accommodation - The staff gave us a very warm welcome. The room was nice. We had an excellent evening meal and great breakfast. No problems
- Jackie (9/5): My colleagues were very happy with their stay there, they said everyone was friendly. - I have spoken with my colleagues who stayed there, they said the rooms were lovely clean and comfortable, they also said the food they had there was very good and they really enjoyed the breakfast.
- Janet (4/5): - The Anchor inn was ok, didn't like the bedroom Room furniture not good. Bed was very uncomfortable
- richard (9/5): - Clean, comfortable, nice location, friendly staff, good food Nothing really.
- Carole (7/5): - Lively pub that gets busy and is popular for eating . The staff are very helpful and cheerful.
A decent menu, though presentation is inconsistent. Depends on the chef's artistic flair! On a very busy road so noisy at times especially when some drivers think it is Brand's Hatch !
The accomodation is in need of a bit of tlc, shabby paint work and the furniture in the annexe over the road. The wet room is very good.
Walls very thin so you can hear EVERYTHING.
- Susan (10/5): A very enjoyable stay, comfortable bed, good food - Very tasty breakfast Nothing
- keith (9/5): Excellent stay here withe hard working staff , reasonably priced drinks and exceyfood - The food was excellent
- Tonnie (5/5): Redelijk, voor 1 of 2 dagen te doen - Ontbijt Bedden, douche ruimte, hygiëne, kamer stonk naar sigaretten rook.
- GARY (8/5): - room was in a house across the road from the pub which was beneficial re noise when the saturday night disco til 12 was on only minor thing re the room was no hot chocolate as an inroom drink option just coffee and tea
generally room was well appointed and clean with exception of cobwebs behind the tv
- LLOYD (9/5): Really was perfect, couldn’t have been better. - Room was absolutely beautiful. Really clean. Bed comfy. Quiet. Warm but not too warm. Was really well thought out. Was a real pleasure to stay there and will stay again. Can see why you are 5* . Thank you so much Maybe information in the room telling us what to expect of breakfast as well as clarifying times.
Never thought to ask about what to do with the key on checking out so info on that too. In the event we just left the key in the bar.
If possible a little shelf in the bathroom just to put soap stuff on while using the room.
- Tim (8/5): -
- Daniel (8/5): -
- Steve (5/5): Usefully located - Location Short breakfast hours
Staff more interested in locals than guests
- Chris (7/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and great value, no wonder it's so popular. Noise from the traffic.
