Guest Reviews
- Medina (10/5): - This is the best apartment we have ever been!!!!!!
- Christa (10/5): Palazzo living with view! - Palazzo with character! Wonderful view! An authentic feeling how it would be to live in Salerno The entrance balcony was a little bit scruffy and unpolished.
- Patrick (7/5): Historic and comfortable, but be aware of the location. - The palazzo it is in is a nice historic building and the room itself has a homely old fashioned vibe. The painting on the ceiling was a very nice touch. Fridge and AC were good and worked well. It is in a tough spot to get to up the hill, and taxis will not go all the way up. There is an elevator, but operates between like 7am and 11pm (we had an early train so this was a little stressful). Access to the apartment is a little convoluted, requiring 4 keys for different doors throughout the building.
- BERTHA (10/5): Excelente - Hermoso lugar, muy comodo, con todo lo necesario. Tiene una vista espectacular, y muchos detalles de arquitectura y decoracion.
- Fawzi (2/5): - Our stay at this property had some highs, like its charming location, but several issues significantly impacted our experience. I’ll share our thoughts constructively, as we appreciated the host’s efforts to address some concerns, but there’s definite room for improvement to meet standard guest expectations.
Upon arrival, the toilet in our room wasn’t flushing. We informed the host, Sara, and it was fixed after a few days, which we were grateful for. However, addressing this and other issues before guests arrive would be the expected standard. The shower room’s ventilator was broken and sealed with plastic foil throughout our stay, making it a steamy, uncomfortable space after every shower. This really needs to be fixed to ensure basic guest comfort.
We asked Sara in person about using a washing machine, knowing it wasn’t included in the listing. She kindly offered to have the cleaning lady wash our clothes, which we appreciated. However, follow-up communication via WhatsApp felt off when Sara suggested we might have misread the listing and later informed us the laundry service wasn’t available after all. Clearer, in-person communication could have avoided this misunderstanding and made us feel more valued as guests.
The coffee machine was in poor condition, heavily clogged with limescale and using water from an old soda bottle, rendering it unhygienic and unusable. As a property advertised as a B&B, we were surprised to find no breakfast provided. When we raised this, Sara explained that Biscoff cookies and coffee were intended to suffice as the “breakfast” offering. She was empathetic, noting she’d discussed this with guests and the owner, Salvatore, multiple times - but he was still unwilling to make changes as it helps him advertise the place. Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to use the kitchen to prepare something simple like an egg, which was a significant letdown for a B&B experience.
- Ana (10/5): Emplacement unique, excellent rapport qualite/prix, great host -
- Anahita (7/5): Not as advertised on Booking - Beware: What is shown is not what you will get! The room is located in a building that is undergoing construction and repair. The entire building is under scaffolding. The room is advertised as having a sea view. However, the view was completely obstructed by the scaffoldings and green meshes covering it. Also, the room is advertised as having a terrace with furniture where you can “enjoy the sea view”, yet, the terrace is so small that it could not accommodate any furniture (less than 3 feet wide), had no furniture, and was in fact overcrowded by the aforementioned scaffolding that was blocking the view!! Despite complaint to Booking.com about the misleading pictures and description, no change was brought to the description of the property. The room is advertised as B&B, but other than coffee, there is no breakfast, and in fact, there is no one at the property itself, although the owner/ agent was responsive to our request for fresh towels and a kettle after day 3. There room was not cleaned during our entire three night stay. The bathtub was quite mouldy and in need of thorough cleaning. See above
- Olena (10/5): Exceptional - A charming place, quiet and peaceful, no noisy neighbors, a piece of real life of truly rich locals. Mosquitoes.
Plastic cups for coffee.
No one answered my question about where to leave the keys either in the evening or in the morning, so I had to worry about where and how to leave them safely.
Not very talkative and not very friendly lady who checked me in.
If you have suitcases, there is no elevator to the 3rd floor.
- John (10/5): - Great host
- Yuliya (10/5): Exceptional - The cool historical villa. Owners of the villa are very nice people, immediately helped us with all the questions. The villa has stunning sea views.
- Thanh (7/5): Good - The place itself is very spacious and nice, the landlord is very kind. Location wise is very central, however, I wouldn't recommend for people who do solo travelling like me. I don't feel very safe walking alone back to that place in late evening because it's located in the corner that you have to past by empty small streets which is not ideal to walk in late evenings imo.
The first two nights I couldn't sleep because of the sound of the Airco, which was solved only when I turned off the power button completely. Hope this will be fixed by the owner.
Be aware that out of 7 nights staying there, there are only two days that the cleaning lady came and cleaned the room.
In general, the place is good but I don't think the price is worth the money.
- Isobel (10/5): Exceptional -
- María del Consuelo Flores (10/5): - Un lugar único y hermoso, es toda una experiencia. Muy cerca de los lugares más importantes. Sin duda regresaria.
- Andrey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marilyn (10/5): Loved the room and view - The place is exactly as the pictures so. Very fun staying in a villa. Hate the climbing but the place is the reward. Google gives a difficult and ugly route. Ask staff to tell you how to get to the elevator.
- Michal (9/5): cool - painting on the ceiling, see view, generally the most picturesque place i've ever slept in air con compressor was broken making it super loud
- Yvonne (9/5): Sublime. - The room is beautifully furnished with a large bathroom. Difficult to find.
- Yu (9/5): Superb -
- Paulina (9/5): Superb - It is a magical place, the most weird and beautiful accomodation I have been. A dramatic entrance followed by an amazing apartment, full of history!
- Russ (10/5): Exceptional -
- Klaus (8/5): We got a good impression of Salerno as an interesting city. - Splendid Renaissance Pallazzo from the end of the 18th century, with gorgeous fresci on the ceiling over the bed!
- Maria (10/5): so romantic! the place is amazing - everything! maybe make breakfast available, it’s such a great place
- Alina-marija (10/5): Exceptional - I am lucky to have been in this historical place. Everything was perfect, beautiful place and the view! The owner also very nice and careful. Recomend 100%. Grazie mille!
- Roshen (8/5): Very good - The apartment is located within a heritage building in the old district and is exceptionally decorated. You only have access to one of the bedrooms and toilet but good for 3 people. Note that Taxis will not go upto the door of the building as the streets are narrow, you have to take your luggage on foot the last few meters.
- Amy (10/5): A fine choice if one wants to be in a place filled with the character of historic Salerno. - Comfortable room with a fine view in a wonderful historic palatial building. Helpful, communicative host. Excellent location in historic center of Salerno. Just slightly hard to get to with heavy luggage, because it’s in a pedestrian zone. Our host kindly helped with the luggage, though.
- Peter (9/5): Superb - Very helpful host and a lovely room
- Satoko (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brazzoni (10/5): Beautiful rooms in historic district! - Location is in the historic central district, hard to reach by car so we walked. Staff very professional and helpful! Wish we could have stayed longer!
- Corina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (2/5): DONT STAY HERE if you are traveling alone - This hotel is not for the single female travelers. There is absolutely no parking for my car or near the establishment. It was up a very tiny alley into the home. Followed by a five flight stairs up to the very top. The website is a bit misleading. The area is not suitable for single person. The only thing they sell is a tiny view from the room. The front desk is not accessible at all. It is not worth $100 a night for the price I paid for two nice you can absolutely stay at the Amalfi coast . I was Very disappointed and when I pointed out my concern to the owner we had a different opinion. I tried my best to translate English to Italian for he did not understand English. I don’t mind that the building is old it’s a historic center but the website made it seem it was walking distance to everything it’s not was very isolating in that room I did not leave I ended up booking for two nights I left after the first night I just did not feel safe or comfortable. So please keep not suitable for single female traveler . If you have luggage it’s worst.
Dark alley at night you should not leave room last 8pm. It’s hideously over priced.
At best it’s a two star rating, $50 a night.
I paid $210 No breakfast.
For that I could have stayed in Amalfi coast.
- Lucie (10/5): Excellent place - Nice room, good location, quiet will return any time.
