Ma chambre était très confortable : elle donnait sur un jardin agréable ; entretenu avec beaucoup de goût. Diner au sein du restaurant gastronomique ; j'ai particulièrement apprécié le gravlax de truite, le suprême de volaille au jus truffé et la tarte au citron revisitée par le chef.L'équipe de salle est charmante, pleine de bons conseils pour le vin ; j'ai pu dégusté plusieurs vins au verre. J'ai terminé mon séjour par un petit déjeuner complet "sucré -salé", un regain d'énergie pour bien commencer la journée. Très bon rapport qualité prix ; une adresse sur le chemin des vacances que je fréquenterai à nouveau sans hésiter...

- Agnes (5/5): for a pricey hotel and during an extremely hot time period, comfort was difficult - internet weak,, some rooms did not have air conditioning and some rooms the AC did not work. parking was difficult in area and hotel charged to use their lot. no food or drink available except at mealtime. rooms had no refrigerator and there was no ice available (37 degrees during stay)

- John (9/5): Charming hotel. - Very nice and charming hotel. Located in a small town. They have a locked parking yard at the backside for €10/night. The hotel has an excellent restaurant where also the breakfast is served. Breakfast: there is choise between French and Continental with eggs etc. The bed was very good and there is airco in the room which makes also the summer okay for staying. I will like stay there again when in the area. Charging the car is relatively expensive at €25/charge. The bathroom (shower) was rather narrow.

- Judith (10/5): A fabulous treat. - Aubigny-sur-Nere is a very attractive and historic town and La Chaumiere is in the middle of it. We loved the building which is old and beautiful and has been wonderfully restored with every comfort. We booked an evening meal for convenience which turned out to be exceptionally good - really fine dining - but for a fraction of the price you pay in the UK for this quality of food and wine. The service was also great - both friendly and efficient.

- Andrew (9/5): A lovely hotel, with superb food - The location was fine, our bedroom was superb, spacious and well equipped, lovely shower and bath, quality linen. We ate in the restaurant which was outstanding, especially the evening meal, but also a very good continental breakfast. Hardly anything, perhaps parking included in the price!
- Christopher (8/5): Spotless room, great pricing but one or two littl - Spotless rooms. decor was a bit old though and bizarrely, apart from one hook on bathroom door there were no hooks to hang towels ! A small fridge in the room would be good, along with maybe actual glasses instead of disposable plastic covered paper ones. Finally the shower connected to the tap with no fixing on the wall is a really BAD idea and impossible to have a proper shower! Loo paper dispenser was more akin to petrol station WC that a hotel.

Staff friendly The front doors were locked until 3pm (check in time), which is odd for a hotel. A continental breakfast doesn't include charcuterie or cheese, just bakery and yoghurt, unless we paid extra. Seems a bit penny pinching. There's no kettle in the rooms, so to find a cup of coffee mid afternoon, you have to go and find someone in the kitchens - not very profession, especially when told they were busy.

This was really unexpected, but very welcome after a long and arduous drive. We felt very well looked after. The room was spacious, warm, quiet and comfortable. The service at the hotel is friendly and very professional. We were very pleased with out stay.

- Oleg (9/5): Good hotel with an excellent restaurant - Aubigny-sur-Nere is not a big draw in itself (unless you are seriously into Scottish history, at least), but is a convenient base half way between Orleans and Sancerre/Pouilly-sur-Loire. The room and the bathroom were unusually spacious. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant was a bit pricey, but really, really good. It also looked like the only (French) game in town, at least mid-week. There is ample free public parking right in front of the hotel, and the hotel offers reasonably priced parking if the public lot is full. Lousy WiFi - not the strength, but a 3rd party provider with an expired certificate that confuses browsers into refusing to connect to sites. It works, but it's a hassle. The room and the bathroom were somewhat dimly lit (hint: illuminating the mirror does not help). Having a bath is very nice indeed, but being able to affix the shower head at some height and having a glass screen or at least a curtain would be helpful. Breakfast was nothing to write home about and overpriced, you'll do just as well with croissants and coffee in the main street a minute's walk away, at a fraction of the price.
