- Johdi (9/5): Fab location, beautiful setting, would stay again - Beautiful property in gorgeous grounds, great location for Bayeaux and DDay beaches No added luxury in the rooms themselves, very functional.
- Miran (8/5): Very good -
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (9/5): Lovely château, great location, lovely pool, great for kids - Great location, nicely decorated rooms, lovely ensuite bathrooms, look like they have all been refurbished, mixture of old tradition and new quality. Breakfast was nice, would have liked a cooked option, but lovely fresh pastries etc. Good food in the restaurant just bit of a wait, understandable during the summer, was very busy. Kids loved the pool and the space to play. Perfect location to see memorial sites etc Staff were a little stressed in the restaurant but we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Kids would have liked a tv in the room but we didn't mind them having a break. Bed was a little hard
- Christine (7/5): A more realistic review - A bit of a realistic review, some of the others I had read seem to have rose tinted glasses on...
Positive: VERY spacious room, very comfy bed, another little room for a single bed was great. Very modern bathroom and shower facilities. The building was impressive, the entrance hall and view to the garden was nice. Pool looked nice and clean. Restaurant looked nice. Parking available for the room. Location was ideal as it was very close to Bayeux.
There's a little shop and facilities for the campers but the shop looks very cute and sells bakery items as well as wine etc.
Lady at breakfast was super friendly! The communication was probably the biggest bugger that I experienced. We had a miscommunication about something, Booking.com tried to contact the property and didn't get a response as they couldn't speak English. The message I sent to the property ahead of our stay was read but not acknowledged in form of a message. Once cleared it was fine though.
Arrival before 7pm is recommended as they close the reception (didn't know this) and give you instructions. Worked OK but would have been nice to know.
No room cleaning service - at least we weren't told if that was even an option - which was OK as we only stayed 5 night but it got pretty dirty at that point.
Room is great but very simple. 1 bin, no toiletries, no cups, no kettle etc. For the price I would have wished for a little more.
Also don't be fooled, this is a camping ground, if you don't like that then avoid. There are A LOT of campers. For the most part they're quiet but lots of kids, the campers impact the view.
Breakfast was nice, simple (don't expect hot food and if anything is out well then it's out).
Bring snippets of French with you as you'll need it.
- Mark (9/5): Lovely hotel, great restaurant, super staff - Lovely large room. Excellent restaurant with superb food. Very nice breakfast in the hotel. All staff very helpful and friendly Nothing!
- Filip (10/5): That was a pure pleasure! - Beautiful and magical chateau!
- Karen (10/5): Life in the chateau - Lovely, spacious room with fabulous view. WiFi a bit hit n miss. Only one water glass.
- Helen (10/5): A wallow back in time - We first came here 42 years ago camping and the joy of going back and sleeping in "the big house" wonky floors, sloping stairs and all -it was a delight !! Wonderful welcome at Reception and excellent breakfast. We had a super meal in the evening with really friendly staff (a change from queuing with a saucepan for chips at the kitchen door!). So little has changed but all the updates are inevitable and sympathetic. Great value. Thanks Nothing - I just wish we lived closer!
- Francis (8/5): Very pleasant. - Excellent location, very welcoming staff, location was quiet in the evenings. Traditional French hotel chambre, very relaxing. Tea / Coffee making facility in rooms would be good.
- Alison (8/5): A really lovely old chateaux that provides a good level of comfort and a range of facilities. - This a lovely old chateaux with bags of character. The beds are really comfortable, the rooms have amazing views. The restaurant in the grounds was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a range of facilities including a swimming pool. The grounds are very well kept and the camp site is not intrusive. The wi-fi is a bit dodgy.
- Kaili (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (8/5): Very good - The staff was friendly and hospitable. The setting is lovely and close to Bayeaux if you have a car. The room was a bit sparse; there were no comfortable chairs to sit in and no coffee available in the room or anywhere in the a.m.
Towels and pillows were not great.
- Laura (10/5): it was very relaxing with a great breakfast from a very nice lady. - quiet, comfortable
- Joanne (9/5): Superb -
- Hugh (8/5): Very good -
- Carrie (8/5): Very good -
- Filip (6/5): authentical manoir but a bit past date - authenticity the stairs is broken and hangs crooked, scary.
the room has night lamps, tv but none is connected - no power outlet.
- Roland (9/5): Superb - Excellent and large breakfast. Nice rooms. Friendly staff.
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely to stay in an old château with beautiful grounds and warm swimming pool.
Breakfast was delicious.
- Cliona (9/5): Superb - full of character
- Kristene (4/5): Not at all what we were expecting. Not in a good way! - Pretty surroundings. A bit run down. Broken floor tiles. Bathroom poor. Didn't realise it was so close to the campers. Restaurant disappointing. Guy who ran it couldn't care less. Had a drink there which wasn't easy to get. Table looked like it hadn't been wiped down in weeks.
- Conn (9/5): Superb - Beautiful clean large family room. Excellent facilities. Lovely breakfast in the main house, with friendly and helpful staff. Poor attitude of staff in the evening restaurant, resulting in us not dining there.
- Samir (8/5): Very good -
