Guest Reviews
- NIKOLAY (4/5): - I received a bed in 6 bed dorm even though I paid for a 4 bed dorm.
They wanted to give my money back but until today nothing.
- Chris (10/5): - Easy check-in, helpful and friendly staff.
- Adam (2/5): - The staff are extremely hostile. I would not recommend a person of colour to book into the facility.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The location is very central, but with that comes a very noisy street. Booked for the air-conditioner, told that it was not an option to turn on, Madrid was over 30c the days we were there, so we slept with the window open, unfortunately letting the noise in all night. The rooms need maintenance, the bathroon and shower were full of mould and smelt mouldy too. They have even tried painting over the grout in the shower with white paint to disguise the black, mould. Worst two nights in Madrid.
- Torbjörn (8/5): Prisvärt med hiss - Litet men trevligt rum. Sängen kanske kunde vara bättre. Bra badrum.
- Susana (6/5): - Muy biena localizacion.
- ZHONG WEN (10/5): - Good location and friendly staff.
- Scott (8/5): - Ok place but no place to hang clothes too dry. Nice bed, linens and towels. I liked it tho it was quite small. It has a lift, yay!
- Jorge (6/5): - It’s not the type of stays that I use but it helped me to avoid the street…
Buen trato.
- ROBERT (8/5): Good - Very welcoming hosts. We stayed in the room with the double bed for couples and were very happy. Good value for the price. Bathroom was ensuite and the shower was very good. Location was right in the centre, therefore it was a little noisy. All in all, an enjoyable stay.
- Jose Antonio (10/5): Personal muy amable - Todo transcurrió conforme previsto. Muy amables y dispuestos los propietarios.
- Ángela (10/5): - Mucha amabilidad, limpieza ,desinfección me encantó
- Omosofe (10/5): - Good and nice people out there.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Small space. Tiny kitchen. But staff was friendly.
- Fanny (4/5): - Hostel clean. Walls of bedroom thin could hear the next room. Too noisy from outside aswell. Hostel and room old. Could not lock bedroom door in a double room, had to put bin against door.
- Matias (6/5): - This hostel is really two apartments from which some rooms were made a hostel and others a residence for the elderly. The owner is really kind and there is a person who makes sure that the bathrooms are clean. The building has an elevator.
The bad part is that there are only two bathrooms so you may have to wait for a long time. It would be great to have a sink somewhere outdoors. And there was bad smell in the room but that may have been due to other guests.
Moreover, I think that towels should be provided. Finally, free breakfast is served after 8 am. There could be some take away simple bags with a croissant and a cup of coffee maybe.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Localidad, desayuno, limpieza. Personal amable, precio razonable
- Mamabohemian (6/5): - You get why you pay for! It’s clean and close to everything
- Bryan (6/5): The dorm was cramped with poor airflow - Cramped and stifling - no airflow in the room and cramped conditions
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the place has a few quirks, but nothing that hurts it. Would stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It’s central location and homey management were appreciated. The bathroom was nice and clean too. I’d have preferred an open window to air conditioning in the dormitory.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It’s a small cozy hostel. The style is family run. Nothing fancy. Great location. Breakfast. It’s simpke and cozy. Works well in my opinion.
- Shajjad (10/5): Bien - Bueno
- zulietaj (8/5): Location wise - I was lucky to get a really cheap price for this hostel and it didn’t disappoint!
Location was very central. Everything is just outside the hostel. The staffs were really friendly and helpful.
Hasta pronto!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good price vs center of the city location - The location of the hotel is great - very close to the main attraction in Madryd. During the night, a bit noisy outside but if you want to stay in a heart of Madrid with good price and don't expect 4stars hotel - this one is the good option.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Small sign - Couldnt find the entrance. Sign was only 1 sq cm small.
- Verified traveler (10/5): one of my best experience in hostel so far - the boss is nice, bedding is quite clear, bathroom is nice as well. near city centre, just a five minutes walk from sol station. for the first time it's a bit difficult to find since there's no big lightbox or ads outside the building
one of my best experience living in a hostel so far
- Verified traveler (8/5): good - Staffs were kind and good location. I booked share room include breakfast was good.
- Fiorella (10/5): - Buen servicio.
- gabriella (10/5): - The owners are amazing and lovely people, when I return in Madrid, I'll stay here again for sure. Really comfortable beds! Excellent location!
- Marc (8/5): Very well located, quiet hostel - Very well located, quiet hostel
-klimatisiert
-super WLAN (hatte keinerlei Probleme)
- Jenny (8/5): - This hostel is quite the experience. I LOVED it. The family who owns it also lives there, it is almost more like an AirBNB than hostel, so if you don't like the idea of the family being there, it's best to book elsewhere. The rooms are separated in to two spaces. One side is more hostel like, with rooms, a kitchen and washroom. The other area, you walk through the family's living area to get to the rooms. I had the single bedroom, which was off the living and dining area. The family is very nice and not bothered when you're walking through (interrupting their dinner) they are quiet and warm and will help with anything you need. The location is perfect. Right in the heart of Madrid, a block from Sol and Plaza Mayor and a very short walk to Gran Via. The area is VERY loud at night, so if you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs.
- Sherby7 (6/5): Just ok place - The hostel is in the heart of Madrid Citycenter.
Toilets are ok and clean.
Tue Hostel is really with a compact rooms, where privacy is not that much.
The upper beds is really annoying, where there's no place to put a ladder to climb to your bed.
The breakfast is funny and not worth to eat it.
The staff almost don't speak English and the night shift staff man was a bit rude.
I only recommend it for no more than one night.
- dt0809 (8/5): Homey ambience, fantastic location - Stayed 3 nights in a 6-bed mixed dorm. Fantastic location - hostel is situated right in the heart of Madrid and within 2 mins walk from Sol metro station. But this also means lots of noise even late into the night, which could be a problem for light sleepers.
Homey ambience and the staff at reception were helpful giving us some recommendations on what to eat etc (when we asked). Wifi was good and rooms were clean. The bed frame was a bit old but still comfortable. Power sockets and lockers for each bed.
There's no air-conditioning - not a problem for me though. The showers are a bit problematic. There's only 2 shower rooms and adjusting the water temperature is a HUGE problem. Largely because when someone else (in the other shower) is using the hot water, your own hot water supply gets cut off. This results in a sudden surge of heat, or sudden wave of extremely cold water coming into contact with your skin while you shower. Hope this problem can be solved.
Apart from that, comfortable stay.
- juliefK7500DC (2/5): To avoid !! It's not a hostel !!! - It's a terrible hostel that I wouldn't recommend : the bedrooms are all around the living room of an old man who spends his day watching TV. The "breakfast" is just industrial products wrapped in plastic. They take everything out of the fridge by 30°C everyday and so the food is rotten! When we told the owner he swore that the ham wasn't rotten but then he went to get new one... We didn't feel welcome at all (they can't speak 3 words of english).
There is no AC and we couldn't sleep the window open because of all the noise and music on the streets (until 6 AM)! If you use the shower in the same time as someone else in the building, then you won't have hot water.
- Francescaszucs (8/5): Avarage hostel - The location was good as it was about 3 min from sol. Easy access to anywhere via metro. The room was nothing special a bit worn out... The staff can't really speak English they don't understand anything if you have an issue so better to learn how to speak Spanish xD
- 36chrisr (8/5): Small and well-located - A little tricky to find but a warm reception from friendly staff when I did. I stayed in a 6-bed dorm which was was comfortable with enough space. Location is excellent with short walks to the main attractions around Madrid but also close to the metro if you needed to use that. Limited bathroom and kitchen facilities, however.
- CateKulyk (8/5): The best position !! - the position of this hostel is unbeatable, it is right behind plaza del sol. i would say it is barely functional as there is no particular atmosphere and everything is a little old. the rooms were small but clean and there was a bathroom in the room. but it is super cheap (breakfast is also included!) so I would still recomend it ;)
- Fortheloveoflit (8/5): Great deal, great location - I rented a bunk in a mixed dorm. The location was fantastic- walkable to the train and all major attractions but still in safe part of town. There is a charming antique book store across the street and a British breakfast room down the street. It was your typical $10 bed space: the bathroom was small and a little dirty, and some residents were inconsiderate. It was up several flights and occasionally the lighting timer wouldn't let you get up the stairs before plunging you into darkness. If you are used to hostel travel, it is a great deal.
Also, I did the tapas tour from Hostelworld ($25) my first night just to get my bearings in the city and was blown away by how much the tour guide knew about the history of buildings and cuisine.
- Unseonsinable (6/5): A not so cosy hostel - Hostel is ideally located in the central of Madrid at Sol. Metro is just about 300m away and plenty of restaurants nearby and a big supermarket nearby. Rooms are clean but very small. Definitely not for those with claustrophobic problem. Hardly any space to move around. The double decker beds are flimsy and shake at very turn and disturbed your sleep. Kitchen is very tiny with just a microwave and an oven. Just for making coffee and heating food. Staff are very polite and helpful. What is really lacking is a common area for guests to get to together and relax and chat.
- kathleeno972 (6/5): There is room for improvement! - This is a hostel with accommodating and helpful staff. Clean and accessible to Center of Madrid. A bit too loud at night you can hardly sleep unless you are too tired to care and was disappointed because my friends and I were not informed that an opposite sex was added in our room without prior approval. If that is there policy they should specify on their website so as not mislead future customers
- TripReviewerr87 (10/5): Hospitable Host! - Definitely one of the most hospitable hosts I've had in my travels. Carmen was very accommodating for us and goes leaps and bounds to do what she can to help me figure out what to do in the city.
The rooms are pretty cozy. The location is definitely a big plus considering it's literally minutes away from Sol.
If you have trouble finding this place, I don't blame you though. You would need to buzz in the building to get access. :)
- jeaniebeanie186605 (10/5): friendly place - The hostel is clean and the staff were helpful and nice, the older lady in particular was very friendly and smiley, the breakfasts in the morning were great - you could have a good bit of everything - cornflakes, mini croissants, coffee, biscuits, cheese etc. The kitchen was tiny and I don't think you could really cook in it. It is very near to Sol station and the room I stayed in had 2 bunk beds and had a locker to store your things. You can do your washing there too - for €7 you can put your clothes in for a wash. The rooms are small - but that is what you expect for such a central location.
- FarSexi (8/5): Central Madrid location for an excellent value - Affordable stay, clean hostel with very helpful and friendly staff. Located in a central city location where you can easily travel to all the sites you would like to see in Madrid. This hostel is quiet at night but you can find lots to do just outside at any time. Broken shower head in one of the bathrooms and small kitchen but these are minor issues. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Madrid.
- AirEsky (8/5): Air Esky in Central Madrid - Very centrally located and everything is within walking distance such as a Metro station called Sol (aka Vodafone Sol), a well-stocked supermarket, a post-office, a cinema, a couple of pharmacies, and of course, many cafes, pubs, restaurants including fast-food.
You can actually get to this hostel from the airport so cheap and easily - take Line C-1 at Aeropuerto T4, change at Charmartin to C-3 or C-4 to Sol station and just drag your luggage to Plaza Celenque.
The place is clean and safe. The staff are very helpful, although you would need at least basic Spanish to communicate with them.
If the common area was a little more spacious, and if the staff could fix those bunk-beds which make a little unpleasant noise every time somebody moved or sat on it, it would be even much better.
- jazzeejessie (8/5): Safe, clean, cosy, central - This hostel is in central Madrid, a few minutes walk from Puerta del Sol. There are a few dormitories, a small reception area and a small kitchen. My dormitory and en suite bathroom was clean and surprisingly quiet given the central location. The bed was comfortable and it was helpful to have free individual lockers in the dormitory for my luggage. The breakfast was pretty good - cereal, milk, toast, ham, cheese, jam, croissants, muffins, tea and coffee. There is a washing and drying machine in the kitchen which is 7 euros for one load. You get a swipe card to access your dormitory and a couple of keys to access the hostel and apartment block. I found the staff very helpful and friendly. Neither the owner or his wife speak a lot of English but we managed to communicate okay thanks to Google Translate. I would recommend this as a safe and relaxed budget option for central Madrid.
- TMFreckles (6/5): In the heart of madrid. - This Hostel is located in the heart of madrid known as"Sol" very centrally located and within walking distance to all the tourist attractions and Plaza Mayor. The staff was very helpful and accomidating. the hostel was clean and Air conditioning worked well. they offer free internet and wifi, and breakfast was included. keep in mind that its in a central location so i can be noisy at night. Tips: take the Renfe from the airport its a quick and inexpenive way to get downtown about 5.00EU. make use of the Hop on Hop off bus tour excellent way to view the city and you can stop off and get beack on if you see something you like.keep in mind some muesums are free after certain hours and days. and check out CHOCOLATERIA SAN GINES which is on a side street from hotel. they have been there for years and the chocolate with churros are inexpensive and delicious!!!!
- Hostelite (2/5): Bed bugs. - Advisable to avoid this place. After staying here, my girlfriend developed red spots over most of her body - aka, bed bugs. The place itself, aside from the little creatures, is also horrible. It's dark and depressing. The only thing great about it is the location, but aside from that I'm not sure I've stayed in a worse hostel. Definitely would not recommend to people that like sanitary conditions.
- WolffC (10/5): Nice and clean, great location, accommodating staff - The location of the hostel is great, right near Plaza del Sol and Plaza Mayor. It's in walking distance of tons of places to go out at night and to eat, and it's right next to a subway station as well.
When our group couldn't initial book rooms together, they were very accommodating about putting us in the same room. The staff was friendly, helpful and respectful.
What's especially great about the hostel is that everything is very clean. You get blankets and towels, and the bathroom facility is spotless. The beds are comfortable as well. Definitely highly recommended.
- serendipity07 (6/5): Generally good - I liked this place, the bloke who did the nights/early mornings was a bit of a miserable git though; fired me a couple of hateful glares on the morning I was leaving, all I was doing was walking along the corridor - you'd swear I was doing something quite bizarre - bit of a downer.
