The cabin is beautiful, cozy, and full of charm – you can tell that every little detail was thoughtfully considered. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making us feel at home right away. The location is fantastic, with peaceful surroundings that made our experience even more special, and the area itself is simply stunning. It was the perfect place for our honeymoon! A huge thank you for the amazing hospitality – we can’t wait to come back! one thing to note is that the ceiling in the upper level is quite low, and my partner kept bumping into the wooden beam and had to constantly remember to duck. It didn’t take away from our overall experience, but it’s something to keep in mind for taller guests.

The smell of the amazing wood in the bath room was a highlight. All the things you need to cook and live for the few days you are there. Highly recommend. Worth the drive out of Kyoto to experience the city but stay away from the hustle and bustle.

Just a heads up if you intend on staying more than 2 days or so you will want to get an international drivers license sorted because you need to drive to nearby grocery store/restaurant.

• Thomas (10/5): Gorgeous property. Exactly what we were looking for. - Beautiful traditional Japanese aesthetics with a modern bath house in a mountain setting.
• Schmidt (10/5): Exceptional - The bath was phenomenal! It was so relaxing to sit there and listen to nature. The kitchen was laid out very nicely and was super handy. Our host gave great recommendations for places nearby as well!
• Hannah (9/5): Memorable. - Truly an amazing place! The house is so unique and beautiful, with so many lovely design pieces (the ceramics! omg!) - and the hamman/bath was so so special. The bed is super comfy and cosy, the terrace and living area are incredible when you get a touch of sunshine, and the kitchen has all we needed to cook for a few evenings. We will be thinking/talking about this place for many years to come I’m sure :) The only downside is if you don’t have your own car it’s quite expensive to reach by taxi from Kyoto city (we paid approx 8,000 yen each way). However, we did use the Lodge’s car when there to make a supermarket run to the next town which was very handy.
• Olga (10/5): Authentic atmosphere with the flavor of Hinoku wood - Amazing design and atmosphere inside the house surrounded by beautiful mountains and forest. Quiet, peaceful and authentic. All amenities, design details, bedding and kitchenware are clearly selected with care and from top brands. Great retro speakers! The bath and aroma of Hinoku wood around will definitely stay as a good memory about the place.
• Alexander (10/5): One of the most authentic Japanese experience you will ever get in Japan. - Very unique authentic Japanese experience. The location is absolutely stunning and poetic. As a taller person, the low ceiling is sometimes in the way. Be mindful of your head.
