- Alison (9/5): Relaxing escape, in lovely surroundings. - The location was perfect. The rooms were amazing, loved how they have built it in keeping with the surroundings. The bar was warm a friendly. I only wish I had been able to stay longer. I will definitely be returning. To be honest, the breakfast could have been better. I was disappointed that the buffet selection only contained cereal, fruit juice and plain sliced white bread. There were not pastries or fresh fruit. The hot breakfast was good.

- Barry (9/5): - Location was fantastic, room was large and well provisioned. I really enjoyed my Lamb burger in the restaurant, my wife had a sunday roast that was equally enjoyable. The cooked breakfast was perfect. The staff were great, very helpful and accommodating from the housekeeping staff to the restaurant staff every interaction was a pleasure. Our room was a little tired and the continental choice at breakfast was a little lean.

Room was very very disappointing, not very clean and blinds broken in many windows. Sadly no TV and no hot water. So bad I had to leave, no effort to correct the problem. They happened to be full .... so basically no option but get on with it or Leave.

- David (9/5): SUPERB despite some inconsiderate guests. - Breakfast absolutely superb. Quiet Rural Retreat! Staff very attentive and professional. Rooms spacious and modern. Evening menu had great choices. We were in an annex on the ground floor but unfortunately the people staying directly above us were not considerate, clumped around noisy in the late hours and this affected our sleep. Not the hotels fault but just a shame that people can be oblivious to how thier behaviour impacts other guests. We do not know if the barking dog for about one hour was theirs or in a neighboring residence, and not part of the hotel, but suffice to say that did not help, especially if they left a dog in the room unattended whilst they imbibed in the bar.

- Pauline (8/5): Lovely vintage pub accommodation in beautiful peaceful surroundings excellent food - Vintage feel but well maintained very comfortable room with a huge bath and separate shower spacious accommodation. Food was very well presented in the restaurant. Could not work out how to empty the bath I think the plug was jammed in. Also, food was a bit on the pricey side and you didn’t get much for your money although it was tasty. The service was excellent and the staff were really helpful.

Unfortunately our friends broke down on the way to the venue and were unable to continue the journey. I'd booked both rooms and let the team know as soon as we arrived that they couldn't make it. I said I knew we were outside of the cancellation window but asked if they could they do any form of refund or perhaps a credit to use against a future booking under the circumstances. They referred me to Booking.com who referred me back to the property who said there was no flexibility on their cancellation terms. A little disappointing as it was our third trip to this group of properties to meet the same friends.

My room was quite noisy, smokers outside the window talking until 11pm, and even though not a busy road i was worken by a large vehicle at both 1.25 and 5am. Who ever was in the room opposite mine were extremely inconsiderate by not attempting to close there door quietly later at night and at 6 something in the morning.

- zeus592019 (6/5): Lovely staff but a tired room and a noisy night - We stayed one night in the Folly room at The Packhorse Inn. The room has charm and some nice features, but it’s definitely looking tired. The walls had visible streaks, likely from condensation, and the standalone bath in the room isn’t for everyone. Using the shower attachment meant water splashed onto the floor and walls — tiling the wall beside the bath would really help. The bathroom itself was cold and not as clean as we would have expected. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was noise. The room is directly above the bar/restaurant/kitchen area, and it was loud well into the night. There was also a constant electrical hum from the kitchen that continued until morning, which made it difficult to sleep. Although this was one of the cheaper rooms (£103 B&B), that shouldn’t mean a compromise on comfort. On the positive side, the staff were absolutely lovely — friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Dinner was nice (though a little pricey for the portion size), and breakfast was good too. However, the restaurant floor hadn’t been cleaned from the night before, and there was food on the floor during breakfast service. Overall, a mixed stay: great staff and a nice atmosphere, but the room and noise levels let it down.

- Fearless688382 (2/5): Dreadful Experience - Lovely location and Building. I booked lunch to celebrate my mother’s birthday, she was 94. We eventually left the restaurant having waited for our main meal for 90mins. We had one sub standard starter and as we left a bowl of ‘stew’ arrived with a lump of bread in it as they didn’t have the dumplings. We will not be taking up the offer of a free meal, it would be a waste of fuel.

Rather than a 'room in a pub', I found myself in a beautifully decorated and spacious bedroom, with nice toiletries, a super 'tea tray' and a very comfy bed! And the bathroom was amazing. Huge with a free standing bath, big shower, loads of towels, lovely decor. Unfortunately I arrived quite late and had to leave early the next day, so was not able to enjoy much time at this lovely inn, but I know where it is now! The breakfast was excellent. The staff on arrival and at breakfast were very friendly and helpful. Perfect! I found nothing to dislike.

- Karen (9/5): We love it at the Packhorse Inn and have stayed a number of times when visiting family nearby. Our first choice of stay - The location by the village green is great for dog walks. Staff are always friendly and welcoming and dog friendly. Beds are very comfortable and food great. A couple of maintenance issues required and bedrooms and bathrooms can be too hot.

We enjoyed the comfort of a great dog friendly lodge with cozy dog beds in situ on our arrival. The full English breakfast and evening meal ( my nephew’s 40th Birthday) were both delicious and nothing was too much to ask of the friendly and helpful staff. Looking forward to a return visit very soon 😊

Staff were super friendly and decorated our room for my partners birthday which was really thoughtful. Cheap electric charger in car park. Our room was next to the door where customers entered the pub through the car park. Late at night when people left it was quite noisy as people were shouting/speaking loudly.

Nothing was too much trouble. I think this was the third time I have stayed here and each time it's been lovely hence why I keep coming back! N/a
- annen653 (10/5): Lovely location. - In the years we have been visiting Moulton this is the first time that we have stayed here. The room we were given was in one of the new rooms around the back of the Inn. It was lovely. Comfortable bed, easy access shower and well stocked tea/coffee area. My only complaint is that why do hotels these days not have a shaver/toothbrush point to charge/use these everyday items. Fortunately having discovered this "missing" item in hotel rooms, I came prepared with an adapter. And the breakfasts we enjoyed on both mornings was very good. Plenty of choice and well cooked.

- Russell Rollo (10/5): Fantastic stylish room with a great country pub and restaurant. - Stylish room with a very comfortable bed and roll top bath. Breakfast was excellent, very tasty cooked breakfast with freshly baked croissants. Staff were very friendly and it is in a very peaceful village in the countryside. Would definitely stay here again when in the area and hopefully make more time to have a meal and drinks in the lovely country pub and restaurant. Nothing.

- 196nualah (10/5): Excellent stay, food, staff, accommodation, highly recommend - All round amazing stay. I had a beautiful dinner of perfectly cooked cod and a spanish style cannellini bean stew. Superb selection of wines and drinks. I also had a lovely room with huge bathroom and sunrise through the bathroom window. Excellent nights sleep with no noise. Cooked breakfast was beautiful with good fresh choices. Highly recommend for dining and overnight stay for business or pleasure. Didn't get to do the walk but will the next time!

- Simon (5/5): The staff were excellent. We had dinner and breakfast both of which were very good. The service was excellent. - The staff were very good (Hannah particularly) and we enjoyed a very good dinner and service was great. The room (Kennet) was not as advertised and I was led to believe it was an ‘overflow’ room with single beds. The wash basin was cracked and there was only 1 x bedside lamp without a bulb. There was no air conditioning.

Disappointed to see the tables weren’t cleaned from the previous day at breakfast (which also wasn’t great). I wouldn’t choose to return here.

- RubyKitchen (10/5): Boom, lush, gorgeous - First day back at work after holiday, stayed here for a work thing. BOOM, what a place. Gorgeous pub, stayed in gorgeous rooms (barns or whatever they are called), drank Hawkstone beer/ cider to keep Jeremy Clarkson happy (his support British growers campaign won us over - never had it before). We ate steak and roast cod meals - all stunning. They even rustled up a sticky toffee pudding on request. Best first day back from holiday ever. Roll on being back work if this is how it's going to be :-). Can't wait for breakfast but I will be too busy trying to wedge myself into my suit I haven't worn since before my holidays so writing this now. Staff were lush too, ridiculously good value.
