Guest Reviews
- Robert (10/5): -
- Martin (4/5): Disappointing , no view and not great value for money - We had expected to stay in the lovely house, however we were in a small annexe in the car park. Whilst it was clean and comfortable , the living area was small and only had a breakfast bar. Patio doors opened into car park, and very little privacy. Also noise from the road. Host just handed the keys and asked if we had any questions. Very disappointed - could have been anywhere.
- Usman (10/5): -
- ERIC (10/5): -
- Antoinette (10/5): Heerlijk - Prachtig uitzicht en suite van alle gemakken voorzien Net
- Christopher (8/5): -
- Alexandre (6/5): - The suite didn't match our expectations: it was in a prefabricated building, and not well isolated so it'was noisy because it's close to the road.
- Katherine (10/5): Lovely property with welcoming host - Beautiful property with spacious, clean suites on Loch Awe
- na (10/5): -
- Marie (10/5): - Fantastic hosts, fantastic apartment, stunning location. Just what we were looking for 😃
- Vicki (8/5): -
- Vadim (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly and very good-natured hosts. Responsive, ready to help at the first request. Very beautiful castle You feel like you're in a fairytale place here. Everything is wonderful!!!
- Dustin (7/5): Beautiful, comfortable, and peaceful, but note that most of the units are NOT in the "castle" - The host was really great. He treated us almost like we were family, while maintaining professionalism. The area was so peaceful and close to great history. From the pictures we thought we were staying in the "castle" which was actually the primary reason we booked this place. Apparently there is only one "apartment" (maybe two?) but three others are NOT in the historic house. The other three were additions to the buildings that took away from the castle-like feel.
- Danielle (10/5): A beautiful escape - This was the best part of our UK trip. The location and the hosts were all fantastic. We would highly recommends this accommodation to anyone visiting the highlands wanting to escape it all 💕👏
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional - We loved everything about our stay, from the spotless accomodation and beautiful surroundings to the warm welcome from Paul and his wife. Will definightly return. There was nothing to dislike.
- Greta (10/5): Great place to stay for several days as a home base. - Lots of space! Perfect for preparing your own meals, snacks and relaxing. A nice home base to explore different places in the highlands. There wasn’t anything that we didn’t like.
- Ed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (10/5): Fabulous stay in an exceptional apartment. - Beautiful setting, quiet location.
The unit was huge! It was very clean and comfortable. Nothing
- Felix (9/5): Lovely place to stay - Wonderful location, large and clean rooms, beautifully and cosily decorated. Paul and Kate are warmhearted and welcoming hosts that are happy to give advice for nearby activities, stores, etc. We really enjoyed our stay. Larger grocery stores are a bit far away, so plan ahead. Also bring salt, pepper and oil for cooking because we didn't find any.
- Linda (9/5): Paul and Kate were most obliging to show us around their lovely house a very special stay thank you -
- Carol (9/5): A nice break to celebrate my mums 80th birthday the perfect location and accommodation - Spacious and plenty of equipment also lovely and warm for the February chill
Beds were comfy and clean and the surrounding areas are stunning just as advertised
Host was chatty and friendly with ideas
- Fiona (9/5): Great place to stay! - Loved it! Was easy to get to. The suite had plenty of space and amenities. Lovely views of the surroundings. Would recommend kilchurn suites to others The weather. Typical, a short stay somewhere scenic, and the weather is on the more miserable side.
- Natsuyo (9/5): Superb - Quiet and great location. Great view from the room. Fully equipped kitchen. Clean beds. Had to go up a lot of stairs but not a big deal. I'm happy with it but wish it was a little cheaper.
- Imelda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alkistis (10/5): Amazing, will definitely go back - Everything was perfect
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thimoor (9/5): Perfect place to unwind. ☺️ - Excellent host and property. Serene ambience and accessible. Exceptionally clean and good amenities.
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional - Very fresh and comfortable, staff were really friendly 👌 😊
- Alina (3/5): Avoid during cold weather (~below 10C - definitely) - Spacious, clean Extremely cold, unbearable temperature inside, went very low, 16 degrees in the warmest room - kitchen.
Heater switched off automatically at 11 pm or earlier, turned on for a couple of hours in the morning and switched off again at 10 am.
Owner helped once and turned it on in the night but the next the situation was the same.
Almost impossible to sleep, so cold…
- Jim (8/5): Lovely place to stay, could do with a few improvements, loved view from bedroom - Our hosts, the views were fantastic the character of the building Decor of bedroom,no tv reception
- Josh (10/5): Perfect and lovely helpful owners - Beautiful and very spacious self contained apartments, appartment was lovely inside, very clean and lots of space it felt like your own home with a dedicated kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. I'd also like to add how lovely the owners were in this family run accommodation. I was over for a cycling event in the area and they were very accommodating of my needs, allowing me to do a late checkout the following day at 4pm, leave my car parked onsite all day and also allowed me an indoor room to set up my bike indoors after we got
some classic Scottish weather, highly recommend and would definitely stay again if in the beautiful area of Loch Awe not far from Oban.
- Mary (8/5): It ws a good break in a quiet place. - Very well equipped unit. The weather!
- Michael (5/5): Mostly good but cold - Wells located and peaceful Central heating never worked all the time we were there
- Janine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Veronica (9/5): Superb - Spacious comfortable apartment. Noisy road.
- Muddasir (10/5): - The Hosts were fantastic and very supportive with our requests
- Paul (9/5): Lovely stay at Kilchurn S - Lovely big lodge, generous rooms, very well equipped. Good location for local attractions especially the Loch, Kilchurn Castle, St Conan's Kirk and Cruachan Mountain power station. Car charger nearby. All good
- U (7/5): Good -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Very comfortable stay in a lovely, quiet apartment. Would highly recommend. - Spacious, clean and bright flat with beautiful view of Kilchurn Castle. Comfortable beds, great bed and bath linens and fully functional kitchen. Stayed in flat at top of the main house. Perfect location to base trips to Inveraray and Oban even a scenic circular drive to Glencoe. Helpful guide of the area provided by the host. Parking on site. Nothing.
- Oliver (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely cottage
- SUSAN (10/5): - Suite was very clean and tidy, well presented and has everything we needed.
Hosts are wonderful and extremely helpful
Highly recommend.
- Samantha (8/5): Very good -
- Jeri (9/5): We enjoyed a comfortable and relaxing stay. - The place was nicely finished and spacious. Gorgeous flowering trees out every window. The property is quite close to the main road so there’s a bit of road noise. Also, it’s not a big deal, but the listing gives the impression that it’s on the same grounds as Kilchurn Castle. Our only suggestion is to create a nice outside space for guests to use.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean. Everything you needed. Modern. Lovely friendly hosts. Would have been nice to have a king size bed rather than a double
- M (9/5): Superb -
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Borders (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and surrounding scenery
- Ian (10/5): - great hosts, amazing location, everything clean and in perfect working order. would stay again
- Claire (10/5): Fantastic, very much enjoyed it. - Had everything needed, the owners Kate and Paul are so lovely and made me feel so welcome and at home. Nothing was too much trouble and it was in a very beautiful location. Will definitely come back again!
- Steve (8/5): Everything I expected and more. - The building and the accommodation were impressive. Every facility including a superb view of Loch Awe and the castle.
- Alasdair (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andy (9/5): Fabulous time will definitely be back - Location, parking excellent host
- Paul (10/5): Used as a base for doing the Cruachan munros, it was exactly what we needed and being so close to the inn we could stop - Really nice layout, spacious and all the facilities you need on one floor. Had some really nice touches like recyclable paper cups in the en-suites rather than plastics ones, shower gels and oven clean and ready for use. Perfect location for Loch Awe and Cruachan, as well as short distance from the Inn. Nothing
- Andrew (8/5): Very good - Warm, comfortable, nicely equipped. Very neat and tidy.
- Peter (10/5): Relaxing, luxurious, flexible and stress free - Location was perfect very picturesque. Would have been great to see the older theme of outside of building carried on in the inside however didn’t detract from the stay in beautiful surroundings
- Alison (10/5): Was a lovely pleasant place to stay - Was in a lovely part of Scotland with easy access by car to Oban and Inveraray . With local shop and restaurant 10 min walk away x the apartments were clean and comfy Nothing
- Lindsay (10/5): greet place for a family or if you need some space while traveling - great location, very spacious
- Nancy (10/5): Great suite, beautiful property and views, great location - We stayed in the main building, which had wonderful, unique architecture-kind of a cross between a castle and a church. Our apartment was spacious, with well-equipped kitchen, modern bathroom, and laundry room. Our host, Paul, was welcoming, helpful with reservations, and informative. Also, great view of the loch and the castle out our window.
We used this location as a base for day trips to St Conan’s Kirk, Loch Fyne Oyster Bar, Inveraray, Oban, and Glencoe Valley.
- Alasdair (10/5): Exceptional -
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aleš (10/5): Was excellent for ale of us. Many Thanks to Paul. -
- Alexander (10/5): A real highlight. We'd love to come back. - The apartment was very, very nice. We were truly lucky with this accommodation - cozy, superbly equipped, and also very practical with a child.
The location of the accommodation is also top-notch: practically right by the lake and within walking distance, a great restaurant.
Plus: Our host was truly outstanding. Organizing an extra baby bed and toys is not something to be taken for granted.
Thank you for the wonderful time! -
- William (8/5): Very good -
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- N (9/5): Superb -
- Chathurika (9/5): Was very nice will come again - It was quiet and very peaceful, Nothing to complain but would be nice if there was a shop near by
- Mark (10/5): The owner was friendly and very helpful with any questions we had. Great accommodation. Highly recommend! - Good size, modern, comfortable and clean. Nothing
- Srishti (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sophie (10/5): So sad I had to leave this paradise :( - I fell in love with the location when I saw the pictures on Booking and was more than happy to discover than the suite we rented was even better!
The location of the Kilchurn suites is really convenient if you want to travel all around Scotland as it is quite central (30 minutes from Oban and located at the crossroads to different major places).
The appartment is confortable, very well furnished and with lot of brightness. The kitchen is totally equiped, allowing us to cook and be totally autonomous.
There's a big parking space to park in the courtyard.
As there are 3 suites in the same buiding, I was afraid it might be noisy but this is not the case; we had a lot of privacy and quietness in our appartement and we didn't realise that we had neighbours.
We had a great stay at Kilchurn suites and found very lovely hosts. Paul and Kate are soo nice and helpful that we were sad to leave them after 2 weeks.
We expect to return with friends as we still have to discover a lot of things in Scotland and in the area.
Thanks to Paul and Kate for their warm welcome! Our stay was too short... but we will return :)
- Wainwright (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (7/5): So lovely place who deserve smart residents not idiots - It’s a lovely place with fresh restoration. 2 nice rooms with individual bathrooms. Nice equipped kitchen with even a washing machine (but we will come back later) We stayed 2 nights. The first night was perfect and based on that I would have scored 10 our stay. But the second night, the suite besides us was occupied and they programmed a washing machine over night which has spinners and drained at 2.37am until 4.30!!!
Noise insulation was not there it was impossible to sleep… that was painful for the price of the stay.
I notified the owner early morning for our departure.
- V (10/5): Exceptional - Huge thank you to host Paulo, who was very helpful during my stay!
- Noranz (9/5): Superb -
- Snita (10/5): Scotland base - A very clean and spacious place. Friendly hosts who gave good recommendations for the local area. Used as a base for Ben Nevis and Scotland trip. Beds were comfortable and facilities were very good. Nothing
- Brett (5/5): Passable -
- Govert (10/5): Exceptional - On the of the best accomedations of our trip in scotland. It's on a bit more rural location but nice to unwind. We had 2 rooms with each their own bathroom. The kitchen even had a laundry machine! The host was very friendly and give use good suggestions for dinner and grosseries.
- Yakov (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ala (8/5): Lovely place for a short stay - Location, the views, the hosts and local store very friendly. The bed was small, main house 2 flights of stairs no lift.
- Fiona (8/5): Very good -
- Van (8/5): beautiful scenery, nice suite - beautiful area. nice large living and bedrooms.
very clean. no supermarket nearby. only one restaurant.
little water from tab.
- Frederick (10/5): Fabulous - Peter was lovely and showed us round the accommodation, the flat was lovely super clean and comfy it all we needed for our 3 night stay we loved it. Internet was a bit of a let down in the bedroom
- Peter (9/5): Superb - Great apartment - well kitted out!
- Rob (8/5): Very good -
- Haralabidis (10/5): Enjoyable - Beautiful view with a kitchen where I could cook meals and a washing machine to wash my clothes. They even had a fridge. We had a very warm welcome. I loved my time here.
- LindaA (10/5): - Lovely location, beautuful views. Pub & wee shop a couple of minutes walk away. Comfortable, well appointed acvommodation and would be pleased to stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Top Notch!! - Fantastic place to stay, hosts are the best you could wish for! They have everything you might need, lovely apartments, nothing has been missed.. Everything you need from a home to home.. Beautifully clean and a lot of money has been spent to make them special.. Take some chairs if you want to sit outside other than that!! Gold star!!
