- domenico (10/5): - Struttura molto bella personale molto gentile e cordiali colazione abbondante e mista....

- Macarena (3/5): Don't stay - Staff were corteous and helpful The whole hotel is a 2*, definitely not a 3*. The place was tatty and outdated. The 1st room I got had the toilet cistern broken and the safety box had been removed. There was mould in the bathroom and the sheets had holes. I was changed to another one, where the key stopped working after the 1st attempt, and the safety box was loose. Breakfast was plasticky and ultraprocessed food.
- Audrey (10/5): This was the perfect stay in every way for us! - The room was clean and bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous (fresh orange juice, lovely hams and cheeses, fresh bread, croissants, baked goods, a wide variety of teas and excellent coffee machine for espresso, cappucino, etc.) Our hosts were on hand to assist with the coffee machine, local travel, restaurant and exploring suggestions. Both were very friendly and helpful - could not have asked for better hosts :) N/A
- Andrea (9/5): Pleasant - Good location, nice rooms and great breakfast Jacuzzi was not functional, full of flies in it
- Anita (8/5): We enjoyed our time here and the host booked us into a very nice restaurant, one of the highlights of our holiday, - A very friendly and helpful host.
- Andrea (9/5): It was clean and comfy and very good food. - The accommodation

- Angelo (9/5): Superb - Little too expensive Price too high
- Herb (8/5): Efficient stay. Better than expected.. - Breakfast was excellent. The restaurant at the beach was better than expected. The beach is more than 200 metres away. Not as expected.
- Kowski1234 (6/5): Unpretentious,,Efficient - If you need a simple hotel in this desirable area Villa Smeraldo is a good choice.
It is clean offering good breakfast with effective Wi-Fi.
The beach is 200 metres away on a at times busy road but offering hotel guests free beds and umbrella. The quality of the restaurant there La Goletta is a pleasant surprise. We ate lunch and dinner on a few occasions and were most impressed with the standard of sea food and service. We cancelled reservation at other recommended restaurants near by and were not disappointed. Price was most reasonable and ambience excellent .
Highly recommended.
- claudio (10/5): - Ottimo albergo, sia per quanto riguarda la pulizia che la colazione offerta. Comodo per visitare tutta la zona.
- Luisa (10/5): Orbetello in relax - Bello l’hotel, in posizione tranquilla
- BruceT282 (10/5): Small, family run, and excellent - First off, this hotel is not in Orbetello town; it is in Giannella, which is a small ribbon development on one of the lagoon sides.
We loved it. The rooms were bright and airy and clean, breakfast was good, the staff cheerful and friendly and very helpful, the pool was well maintained and a good size, and the jacuzzi was great.
The associated restaurant, 200 yards away, on the beach, does excellent, well priced food, and the beach itself looked good, although we didn't use it.
A great base to explore from, and a great place to return to in the evening.
Room tip - the ground floor rooms have very pleasant, small and enclosed patio areas. Very nice.
- pgrazioso (8/5): Convenient location, family-run - This family-run hotel is definitely worth a stay and its quality and service are surely above the official 3-star rating.
The structure is small, airy and full of light, free wifi is available throughout the premises, rooms are probably a bit small for stays of a week or longer, but perfect for a short break. The beach is on the other side of the road, a small open-air swimming pool is available in season.
Prices are correct, the personnel is very helpful and welcoming. The only flaw I found is breakfast, a little below expectations. The hotel is an excellent starting point for exploring the nearby Argentario peninsula, downtown Orbetello and the rest of the Maremma area (southern Tuscany and northern Lazio).
Free parking is available, and this would be highly appreciated in summer peak season.
- 201andrask (2/5): Kitchen fee scam, big disappointment - For some reason, this hotel owner thinks he is entitled to charge extra for using the kitchen that the apartment comes with. This may be normal in Italy (we have travelled extensively and have never seen this elsewhere) but showing the apartment and giving us a price WITHOUT telling us that the kitchen use is excluded amounts to bait-and-switch. As a family, we would have used maybe a dollar's worth of extra electricity compared to the EUR 320 we paid for two nights, this is ridiculous. It would have been a nice stay otherwise (except the partitions between the rooms and bathroom don't reach up to the ceiling, so you hear and smell everything happening on the other side of the intra-apartment walls) but the inflexibility of the owner (who was ready to charge another EUR 100 for kitchen use) made it very unpleasant. The wifi was only accessible from the cafeteria area, and a terrible screeching noise from the house vac system (turned on every morning when they started vacuuming) made breakfasts unpleasant. Avoid.
- Pickles (10/5): Nice modern hotel with access to beach club nearby - We spent three days here, enjoying the beach and sightseeing on Monte Argentario. The hotel is modern and clean, with a beach club about two blocks away. The staff is very efficient. I would stay here again.
- 432maryanne_ (8/5): Nice, clean and perfect for us. - Very fresh and nice hotel. Nice rooms, good breakfast and great service!
Only tiny downside, about 200 meters to the beach, but they have a private beachclub with good food and sunbeds!
We also recommend going into Porto santo stefano for a nice little town visit!
- Pippa-Jayne (10/5): peaceful stay - Beautiful hotel. Very well situated near a beach and Porto Santo Stefano. Really friendly owners that will help you out with anything. The room was comfortable and a good size with complimentary toiletries. Will definately stay here again.
- wezlets (10/5): Nice and relaxed. - My husband and I visited Italy for a week in October. We travelled from Pisa to Rome. We stayed in Villa Smeraldo for one night. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and very comfortable had every thing you needed plus complimentary toiletries. Breakfast was very good, your typical meats and cheeses, different types of eggs, baked goods and cereals, different fruits, juices teas and coffees were provided also. The Villa is by the beach which was nice and is near a couple of small villages/towns which have lovely harbours and water front walks. This area was very relaxing away from your typical holiday attractions perfect for a romantic break.
Thank you to the staff who were very accommodating.
- sandralX1457MF (10/5): We loved this place! - We spent 1 week in Villa Smeraldo, in september 2005. We had the 'suite' room, ie in addition to the main room, there was a little room with a coach which became a bed at night. The hotel was brand-new in summer 2005. Nice garden and plenty of space to park your car. The beach is included in the room price, and is conveniently located on the other side of the road (50 meters). On the beach they own also a restaurant, serving fish and pizza. The hotel is nice, the location is convenient if you are looking for a quiet place and as a starting point to discover Argentario: Porto Santo Stefano is 5/10 minutes by car. It is a family-run hotel. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful: they gave us a ride to Porto Santo Stefano the day we decided to go to Isola del Giglio, and they came to pick-up us at the harbor, in the evening, when we came back from our tour. In the evening, usually we drove to Porto Santo Stefano for dinner. Parking there was expensive, but we never had problems (it was september though, in july-august it could be worse). I think there was a bus stopping nearby the hotel, but if you don't have a car, I would not recommend this hotel.
What striked me most about this place, was the particular structure of the building: mostly white and wood, with a lot of open spaces. It reminded me the provencial villas, in south part of France. The design was original and beautiful!
