Guest Reviews
- ANDI NÜTZI (3/5): - Nichts Unfreundliches Personal
Eismaschine funktioniert nicht
Überall war es schmutzig
Dieses Motel hat nicht einmal eine 4 verdient
- Volga981 (4/5): Outdated, no services - The front desk is unavailable from 7 PM till 7AM, while the reservation says 24 hr front desk. The breakfast is served at 7AM, when everyone is gone already. The room is super outdated, with stained carpet and rusty sink.
- Jeff (9/5): - Nice price. nothing
- Cindy (8/5): - Always friendly people! A little dated but clean.
- Eric (1/5): I won’t be back - The room was infested with bed bugs, stains on the carpet, stains on the sheets, bathroom was gross. Many of the rooms next to me were the same, several people had to switch rooms or leave.
- Brad (6/5): -
- El (8/5): -
- Dana (10/5): - The only issue we had is the shower head didn’t work properly.
- David (8/5): -
- Ione (8/5): - Breakfast could have been better. Juice machine broken. A few packaged pastries. That was it.
- Todd (2/5): Lacking attention - Dirty refrigerator heater left on no breakfast.Just aroll in a coffee
- hieb (6/5): - Low price Limited parking
- Loftis (10/5): It was a peaceful night - I like the fact that my room was quiet and had all the amenities I had asked for There was nothing about the room
- Rebecca (8/5): -
- Andy (8/5): Good budget motel. - Good budget motel with easy access off the main highway in Ely, NV. Nothing comes to mind.
- Minh (10/5): -
- Patricia (6/5): - Sad little breakfast: coffee, fruit, cereal, and plastic wrapped sweet rolls or muffins. Juice machine was broken. No vent in the bathroom. Check in was quick and easy, but that's the only postive thing.
- Tom (8/5): - Great experience. Room really clean with nice linens. Need to tidy up the walkways for 5 stars.
- Joseph (10/5): - Clean room and bathroom
- Ruth (8/5): Good choice if staying in Ely NV. - Good location. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean No microwave in room. Had a hard time adjusting the temperature in room, had to turn the AC switch off when the room got too cold.
- Steven (8/5): - This is a nice old fashion motor hotel in a decent area of Ely. It's operated by a friendly family. Clean, easy parking, dog friendly. We'll be back.
- John (8/5): -
- Eddy (8/5): -
- Victor (4/5): - The room is smelly. The surrounding environment is noisy and not very safe.
- TRENT (4/5): - Towels were fine
- Mike (4/5): - Room was out of toilet paper. We asked for more and were told we would have to wait until morning. A roll of paper towels we keep in the car was what we used.
Lots of road noise as well.
- Jerry J (6/5): - Property is a little below average. The room was ok be you could tell the floor was not clean, need air conditioning and when it came in it sounded like a “jet engine” and it only stayed on frequently for a few minutes.
The reviews of this property were very over rated. Would not stay here again.
- Marsha (10/5): - We always stay at this hotel when in Ely if we can (sometimes it is full). The service is great and people are friendly and helpful. In addition the rooms are especially clean and maintained. The only complaint is the scarce breakfast that is not a good variety.
- Gregory (4/5): - So, we walk in and there is trash on the floor. They just scooped the old soap out of the dish and left the goo in the tray.
There were french fries on the floor and tops of junk food on the floor.
There was a hair band in the bathroom full of hair.
So we called the clerk and she offered to go vacuum but she was running the desk where people kept coming in asking for things.
They left about 1 use on the toilet paper holder and no backup.
The gfi outlet at the sink did normt work so my wife could not dry or curl her hair in the mirror.
The real kicker was when we opened the refrigerator and found left over bologna in the fridge - totally unclean.
It was such a same because the room itself was nice - the bed was comfy, the pillows good, the tv worked but we refused to the bath or shower because we were not sure it was ckean
The front desk clerk said she would never leave a room like that and would report it to the head housekeeper. That sure did not help us and housekeeping totally failed so we would not go back or recommend it
- Carrie (8/5): - It was an ok stay for an overnighter.
- Elizabeth Gwen (10/5): - Very good. Cute convenience store, cafe and casino
- michael (10/5): Clean - Comfortable and clean. Very friendly staff.
- Rhonda (10/5): - Nice room, good internet. Juice machine out of order for breakfast so had to improvise for taking morning pills. Will see if fixed tomorrow. Easy parking and convenient to everything.
- Darryl (2/5): - Quiet
- julie (8/5): - Clean and comfortable
- Tack (2/5): - I’ve stayed at over 500 hotel rooms and this is the first time I got bit by bedbugs that was very notice I have huge welts on my back and shoulders. I called the manager and told the situation and they said they would get back to me but of course they didn’t. Also I could hear footsteps very loud from upstairs throughout the night.
- William Thomas R (7/5): -
- David (10/5): - My grandson and I had a very good time
- Gerald (8/5): - Not a real comfobed. Adequate
- Christine (8/5): - Rooms were clean though dated. Area felt safe. Had to get creative with charging cords but it worked out fine. Appreciated having 3 beds at an affordable rate.
- Heidi (10/5): Great dog friendly hotel - Good, no frills, dog friendly place to stay while on a road trip.
- Vern (4/5): - Very dated. Shower knob came off, shower drain slow, very loud a/c unit.
- Bruce (7/5): - My rooms heater/Air conditioner never provided heat and the fan ran continuously.
I had to unplug the entire unit.
I told the front desk and was told they would look into it however the second night it still didn’t work
- David (6/5): - Staff was nice, was a good value. Extremely noisy with traffic all hours of the night as our room was near the road.
- Peter (6/5): Convenient, basic, inexpensive. - Basic room, clean, no frills. Needs rehab.
- Darla (10/5): Would stay again - Staff was very nice. It was very clean. No fridge, so that was too bad, but there was coffee. Breakfast had several choices but no low carb options. Overall though, it was a good choice
- Anna (2/5): - When we checked in, and my sister went into her room, a whole window pane fell on her, when we reported it to the front desk, they had somebody look at it, and he denied that it happened, but said he fixed the window. When I checked into my room, there were dead bugs in the corner of the bathroom and on the windowsill as well as stains everywhere and a leaky faucet that kept us up all night. The towels hung up in the bathroom were stained and dirty. The shower had pink mold all over the bottom of the shower curtain and inside the tub. The smell in the room was horrendous. Every single time the air conditioner would kick on it would smell really bad like mildew or mold or something. I would never stay here. We ended up leaving early before our booking ended and went and stayed at the La Quinta.
- Harrison (7/5): - It was quiet. The beds very comfortable. Metal carpet transition strip was not screwed down tripping hazzard. Room needed updating.
- Judy (4/5): - Free breakfast had rotting fruit, tastless coffee and nothing nutritious (maybe cheerios)
Tangled up hose in front of my room door , dirty outline of what once may have been a door mat, dead plants all over grounds.
Hope the owners are OK?
- Loree (10/5): - Terrific stay! Everyone at the desk and hotel were very friendly. The rooms are clean as well! Wonderful Mexican restaurant 1/2 block away. Highly recommend.
- Richard (8/5): - Price was right.. faulty AC & TV torn screen was unacceptable
- John (8/5): - Good friendly place
- Sylvia (6/5): - Even though i checked in at 1:00, i was told that the groundfloor pet room I'd reserved was not available. I agreed to take the "reserve" room, undesirable because it was next to the highway. I didnt mind the traffic noise, but the room wasnt clean and smelled bad, and the floor had bits of trash on it.
,,
- bill (4/5): - The tv did not work and the bed was super hard
- Leah (10/5): - Erica was amazing and very accommodating.
- Karon (6/5): - The room was fine however the WiFi was terrible. There was no room service offered and we didn’t bother to ask for it.
- Bobby (6/5): - Room was ok,not real clean, tv was a mess, had to get the manager down to turn it on was a rough one the whole stay. Breakfast was about a joke, corn flakes or oatmeal, and burnt coffee. Staff was fine and good.
- Mary (8/5): - Comfy beds/pillows, A/C & shower water pressure good, clean room at Bristlecone Inn in Ely! Not much food option, no decaff coffee or milk cartons.
- kevin (8/5): Clean and nice place. - Location Stairs to room
- William (8/5): - The only problem we had is they say, on Expedia, that there is a laundry but there is NOT! That's the main reason we picked it. If we had known it didn't have one we would have chosen a different place.
- Lee (9/5): Good people, good location, and a good value. - Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great value in a nice location. Unique to find a room with three queen beds for three guys:
- Helvi (4/5): - The room was old and dark with only one table lamp to light the space. The bed was uncomfortable. However, on a positive note it was very clean.
- Ransom (6/5): Fine for one night - The room was big enough for our whole family of 7 (we put one kid on an air mattress on the floor). There was a leftover smell of vomit in the bathroom. There wasn't any visual evidence of it, but you could sure smell it! It must have soaked into some cracks or something.
- mark (8/5): Good value here - Good value at the Bristlecone. Rooms are that updated laminent flooring but the beds are a bit old and could use a refresh. Staff was very friendly and accomodating.
- Kim (10/5): - Friendly staff. Very clean for the price.
- Pamela (10/5): Exceptional - We found the room very comfortable with two queen beds and a large recliner. No complaints. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
- Ronald (6/5): - Staff was attentive at check in and addressed my needs in a timely manner
- Joseph (10/5): - Clean neat and roomy! Check in was a breeze and you are centrally located. Small town with lots to see.
- Peter (4/5): - Reception was unmannedn and closed during our whole stay, a signed said it would only be open from 07.00am-07.00 pm. no breakfast as everything was unmanned
- Thomas (8/5): We would definitely stay here again. -
- Cynthia (8/5): Very good - The check in was easy. The hotel is convenient to restaurants and near Great Basin
- Catherine (8/5): Best of the non chains in town - Overall, it was a good one night stay. The room was very large, tile floors were great for dogs. Location was great. & of all the non-chain hotels in town, this one was definitely a top pick. The floor was a bit dirty, The door did not meet the floor so there was probably a 1/2 inch gap at the base, but I would come back. Overall fine stay. And a bargain.
- Carl (6/5): - It’s a basic motel. Office is closed 7:00 pm until 7:00 AM
- Chris (10/5): - We were so impressed with Bristlecone Motel. Super clean and very comfortable beds. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this Motel for a stay in Ely.
- Carl (8/5): - Location was good, on the main road. The room was basic but clean. On the downside the office is only open from 7:00 AM until 7:00 pm. So if you need assistance you have to call someone to come back to the motel.
- CharlesBuc (8/5): Clean and convenient lodging in Ely. - Very clean and spacious room. The tile work in the bathroom and the flooring was the best job and neatest I have seen even better than high priced hotels. The breakfast was adequate but limited. A very convenient location for Ely or anything nearby. Friendly and helpful staff.
- Jess (2/5): - No warning that office closed at 9, nobody contacted us when reservations had been made for several days, showed up to locked doors, nobody answered the phone, had to go get another hotel room
- Cindy (8/5): - Check-in staff member was very friendly and helpful which was greatly appreciated after a long day of driving. The bed was comfortable, the hair dryer did not work. As with any older motel the walls are not soundproof and we could hear the upstairs room using the bathroom and walking around in their room. Breakfast included is always appreciated. At this location they were out of orange juice with no sign it was out and the bananas were overripe with black peels. There was coffee and hot tea, two different cereal choices with the milk sitting in the carton at the front desk, granola bars, pastries in bags and bagged muffins. No waffles or anything hot. Again better breakfast than none at all but ranked in the bottom 2 of the 4 motels on our trip. Not much to do in Ely and the casinos with machines only were dead with very few people in the three we visited. We choose this motel after looking at others in the area on hwy 50 that looked run down even though they had high reviews.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean and Comfy - We have stayed at The Bristlecone before. It’s a nice hotel. The beds are comfortable. But most important, affordable while not lacking on cleanliness.
- Richard (10/5): - Property is basic but very clean. Has microwave in room. Breakfast was ok as an additional add on. Property owner is making an attempt to give the outside a facelift. Very nice property for the money. I will be staying there again.
- James (8/5): Clean and Comfortable - Older hotel, but clean and comfortable. Was filled up the night we stayed. Accepts pets with a reasonable fee. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is pretty basic. Cereal, muffins, and breakfast bars. Not really more than that. Would stay again if I come back this way.
- Kevin (10/5): - Very nice motel. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast was minimal, but sufficient.
- Cindy (8/5): Ok but not the best - The rooms have no microwave and the breakfast is not like any motel we have ever stayed at
- ????????? (10/5): - Good place
- Thomas (4/5): - Room appeared to be clean, other than the shower curtain was in need of a good bleaching. The exterior was unkempt and uninviting. Cigarette butts throughout property. I would have liked to sit outside but tables had clumps of dirt on them The bed pillows were the worst ever. Towels were very small and thin, sheets barely fit the bed The furnishings appeared thrown together-a recliner, really?? Rip in carpet, refrigerator did not work.
- Ricky (6/5): - Very Clean. AC is a problem and bathroom very small.
Everyone was very nice.
- Rupe20 (4/5): disappointing - The beds were comfortable and the staff friendly when they were around. The office was frequently empty. The outside hallway and stairs are filthy. The rubber molding on our door was/is dangling. The breakfast area is unattended. We had to bring to their attention both mornings that the coffee was out. There is no fridge in the room. The first morning, when the attendant did come back in, she brought milk. The second morning an almost empty gallon was on the counter. The entire motel requires a deep cleaning, and maintenance attention. The parking spaces are too narrow. Ice is only available in the office which is closed at 7pm.
- Melvin (10/5): - The room was great. We liked the beds, very comfortable. The highway noise was a little loud but not too bad.
- Meaghan (10/5): - Perfect stop for a clean bed, hot shower and needed amenities (fridge, ice) on a long road trip.
- Madeleine (10/5): - The only drawback to this stay was the weak internet-I could not do some work that I needed to. The motel had an old fashioned feel to it but it had all the amenities and was lovely and quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean & Affordable - There was some lag between the booking on the site & its showing up in the motel's system, but it worked out.
The room was tidy. The bathroom was clean; there were a couple of Cheet-oh pieces on the floor.
The location is close to many businesses.
- Brenda (6/5): - Layer of dust on dresser and nightstand. Went to take shower on morning and realized shower curtain was missing. Office didnt open til 7am so wasnt table to shower before i left.
- Erzatz (8/5): - Staff are nice and helpful.
- Angela (10/5): All good - Great place to stay with my family, and economical.
- Douglas (6/5): - ok
- Frank (8/5): - .
- Kevin (10/5): - Quaint motel. They took care of our
- Torre (8/5): - The room was very clean and lots of space. I love being able to park right outside the door to my room since that makes it easier to unlaod. The beds were very comfortable with lots of pillows to choose from. The area and the room were quiet and within walking distance to restaurants. The refrigerator was great!--large, with a seperate freezer compartment. Water was soft, which isn't my preference since soap doesn't rinse off well. The shower and bathroom were spotless. I would rather not have carpeting since it's so hard to clean and a smart TV where I can sign into my apps to watch programs would have been nice. I would stay there again.
- Thomas (7/5): Good -
- Steven (10/5): Nice motel by Ely standards - This a clean no frills roadside facility. It is directly next to a highway that is fairly busy/noisy until around midnight. The staff is friendly and helpful. The morning snack is not a breakfast with hot coffee and cold juice. The food is all package in small proportions, If you want a real breakfast go elsewhere (if you can find it)
