- Jeffrey (9/5): Peaceful, welcoming guesthouse. - Lovely, welcoming place in Greyton. Our room was very spacious, excellent quality linen, very comfortable bed and quiet surroundings. Lovely host and tasty breakfast. Great choice of hiking and mountain biking trails. We will come back for a longer stay. Not a fan of shower over bath, but the bath was wide enough to give enough space for the shower. The garden looked a bit neglected, but that may be due to the draught.

- Manuela (5/5): Definitely not a deluxe room. - Peacefully green environment. Conveniently located. There was a musty smell in the apartment. The carpet seemed to be from the early days of the house and I did not dare to step on it barefoot. The drinking water offered was of brownish colour. Whenever I had the windows open at night, a cat would jump inside and onto my bed.

The place is stunningly natural with well established trees that protect from the hot sun in summer. Dapple green. We enjoyed the pool very much. Thank you for the plant. It will remind us of a very good time. Cleanliness including the bath and dog turds along pathways

- Paul (7/5): A very comfortable room in a charming and peaceful property. - Charming venue with a beautiful large garden. The room was a little tired! Grubby carpet No ice in the bar fridge. A couple of wine glasses would be great.

The cottage we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated with quality linen. The property is secure, and we felt safe inside with our vehicle parked in front of the property. We enjoyed the garden surrounding the cottage and the visits from all the lovely pets and the birds singing in the trees. We encountered a problem on Sunday afternoon when we accidentally locked our keys inside the cottage. Sharon assisted us immediately with kindness and care and went out of her way to solve the problem as quickly as possible. Thank you, Ange, Sharon and the friendly staff for a lovely stay at High Hopes Retreat. We can’t wait to return and stay for a longer visit this time. I can highly recommend High Hopes to anyone who is looking for a comfortable and peaceful space situated in the beautiful village of Greyton. The Fridge in the cottage froze all our veggies and fruit!! Please have a look at it :-)

I loved the barbeque spot and swimming pool. The room was beautiful and had everything we needed. There was no TV, but it didn't matter. We had a laptop. Will MOST DEFINITELY GO BACK! That I only stayed for one night...

- Jackie (7/5): Nice place but expensive - We thought High Hopes was a good location. It was peaceful. We did not have any meals there. The whole place looked a little bit over grown and neglected and for the price that was charged we felt it was not good value for money. A little more attention to detail for example : check that the water filter has been changed in the water jug and that the water jug has been washed. Maybe a few rusks or biscuits in a jar? Just little things like that can make a difference.

Bathroom very dated with shower in bath. Spent 2 nights. Room not serviced at all. Had to make own bed. Dirty tea cups not cleaned and milk not replenished. Won’t be going back there and advise booking . com to remove it from their list of places in Greyton.

I love the garden, so tranquil and enough to restore oneself. Angela and Hannah very friendly and welcoming. It was good to see Sharon again too.

The cottage was beautifully decorated, comfortable and private. Tucked away in one corner of the garden. Will go back anytime. Next time we will just stay longer. Nothing to complain about.
