The outlook from the verandah was lovely with lots of trees and birds. We appreciated the quiet fans in every room which we used in lieu of air conditioning. The property was nice and private The property is in need of repairs. The screen doors don’t slide on their tracks. The seal on the fridge door needs replacing. We had to clean built up lint from the dryer which also needs a good clean. The blinds and flooring are worn out

• Claire (6/5): Expensive for what you are getting, but great location an pleasant enough. - Location, comfy bed and quiet area. The pool area was really dirty so couldnt use it. BBQ was dirty so couldnt use it. No aircon in living area. And was guaranteed late check out when booked. Had a text confirming. However on last day had a text saying had to check out at normal time. This messed with our plans for that morning. Shower was luke warm an weak pressure. Lots of ants on work surface.

• Natalie (5/5): Cute but dated - It was fabulous to be able to take the dog and very close to the beach but access was across an open lot opposite the property. The contact and communication from Tropical staff was excellent, thank you. It was much smaller and darker than expected and an absolute mozzie pit! We could not sit outside and it was not attractive to sit outside anyway. Things are very tired and overgrown and the unit was right next door to a building site. The pool was extremely small and when the kids from other cottages were in there it was impossible to enjoy, as they were in there for hours each day, well. The cleaners were obviously using the washer/drier next to us constantly (drier on particular) which was distracting, I mean all day Saturday and Sunday. There is no oven (I took my own Ezyoven) and given there is nowhere to eat close by without driving, I feel that should be addressed. Despite having insect screens, I was accosted by little flea like creatures during the night so we had to close all the windows at night leaving no fresh air, these things were getting through the mesh screens. I think 235 a night over Easter was excessive for what we got and really wished I'd booked a larger cottage, but never mind, I'll know for next time.

• Nadine (5/5): A little care required but would come back. - The Location was perfect and a walk across the road to the ocean. The pool area was nice. Very dog friendly. Lovely property if the upkeep can be rectified. The host never responded to my calls or texts. The BBQ was Missing from our front deck which was an inconvenience cooking food as the black frypan was a smoke hazard and the smoke alarms went off multiple times. There was an infestation of cockroaches, woke up to cockroaches in my drink on my bedside table, saw a few on the ceiling and running along the floor.

• Kym (10/5): Lorikeet Cottage - Lorikeet Cottage was lovely and clean, quite block. The beach is within walking distance, Woolworths near for any grocery needs. Air conditioning and fans in all roons making for a more comfortable stay. Lots of wildlife lovely to see, would return for another holiday. Great communication with the Tropical Team, managing the property. There was nothing I did not like, if there is a problem, you can contact the Tropical team and they are only to happy to help.

• Miyako (9/5): Perfect holiday home - A well equipped comfortable bungalow just a few steps from the beautiful Wongaling Beach. Although the bungalows are built close to each other, there was a real sense of privacy.

A tropical setting with all our needs was well accommodated as well as our little puppy dog who had enjoyed our enclosed spacious courtyard and outside area we could all be together for relaxation after our days of touring the area and surrounds. The beach was just across the road and it was very easy to walk to and enjoy the beautiful sunrises and its pristine stretch of sand. It was the perfect relaxing holiday we needed. The couch needs a deep clean 😅

The screen doors need some repair work done as the wheels don't run smoothly on the track which made them hard to close and noisy. We were able to fix one door.

Lorikeet cottage was not worth $230 per night.Cigarette smoke from next door made me keep my bedroom door closed. The cottage itself is old and needs the flooring looked at. The garden was a trip hazard. To end my stay I had treeloppers cutting down trees outside the property from 7.50am. Also a hazard as the trees were quite substantial. I have liked this property previously because it is dog friendly and a walk to the beach but felt stressed at the end of my time. I went to relax. As above

• Tania (5/5): Won’t go back - Close to beach, nice and quiet. The fact that we paid for a spa and we couldn’t use it. The bath spout was leaking in the wall and coming out under the tiles. The toilet seat was covered in mould and looked disgusting, as only one bathroom we had no choice but to use it. My husband is a plumber and he sent them a message but we got no reply. When we eventually got a reply after many emails they said “ we didn’t know you wanted a reply”. When I asked if the photos I sent them were acceptable at $300 a night I was told it was an oversight by the cleaner. We were also led to believe there was a fenced in courtyard for our small dog and there wasn’t, only in the one bedroom units not the two bedroom .

No cookware provided for microwave or oven. 7-8 km away from mission beach shops and cafes, and about 4k to supermarket. Car necessary.
• Anonymous (10/5): Just blady awesome mate. Highly recommended. - The property was clean and very well situated. Also private. We took our little baby with, Cookie a Maltese. Felt safe and not worried she could get out. Will definitely book to stay there again. Morning walks on the beach and awesome burgers down the road. Everything was well placed and clean. We loved the spa bath. Need very comfortable. Quite and safe parking on site.

My little dogs are welcome, they have secure yards to play in while we use the electric bbq to cook dinner. The bed was so comfortable and the spa was delightful too. The bowerbird has great coffee and cocktails at the garage are recommended. Lots of great birds, owls and spiders around in the lush gardens.

• Shane (3/5): Thank you, but not for me - gaining access to the building. The code would not work. Alternative accommodation was organised but because of a delayed flight, then drive to Mission Beach we didn’t actually get into until until 2am!
• Sahar (7/5): A cozy place for summer - The location is very close to the beach and just about 10 mins drive to mission beach. The place had everything we needed like 3 set of towels each (face, body & beach towel). There was milk and cookies and espresso capsules to use so the amenities were top. We had some issues from the first night like a hole in one side of the bed and it’s loud all the time during night. The pillows of the couch were smelly because of the humidity and few other minor stuff. The owner was very nice and understandable and after explaining the situation we got refunded 1 night out of 2 nights. Thank you again

• Louise (8/5): Woyld Stay There Again - Easy check in, beautiful location, well equipped house, outdoor bbq, small but lovely pool, beach across the road was lovely, very quiet, beach towels provided The open concept windows, clothes dryer was problematic, a bit far from everything if you didn’t have a car, didn’t have more time to stay here

• Apisara (7/5): comfy for family. - bed comfortable, kitchen is good. close to the beach. The swimming pool a bit small. The internet wifi is really bad, must improve.
